We love this Matchbox!! Abby is always amazing and so friendly. The food and dessert selection is great for our picky eating daughter. We will definitely come back.

Short: Everything was DELICIOUS, and Tee was great with her service Long: We were a group of 6 people who walked in around 530. They took about 5 minutes to create seating for us inside. Note that this is good for family size and a solo person. We ordered all of the happy hour bites, excluding the spinach dip, plus side apple salad and full strawberry salad. The sauce for the cheese bread has a kick to it. I got the burger and split the strawberry salad. The table was raving about the sticky ribs.

Came in here for lunch. We were sat right away, and then got our drinks and food quickly after ordering. Marissa was our server and she was very fast and helpful with suggestions and making our meal phenomenal. Whole experience was really nice. Short walk from our hotel. Delicious food! Great time and great food. The pizza is delicious but the pepperoni I is a little spicy if you’re sensitive. Caesar salad and table bread were our other apps and they were perfect pairings. Even on a busy day the service was phenomenal!

Great food and loved the atmosphere! Very family friendly and the service was amazing, especially Manuel who served our food and had profesional and friendly interactions with us. The kids had mini burgers and chicken tenders with fries. We had the pig (brick oven pizza with different types of meat) and the Roasted Salmon with butternut squash risotto, for dessert we had the classic brownie. Highly recommended when you visit Washington, or if you are a local.

Our meal started out fantastic. The pear salad and mini burgers appetizer were our favorite, by far. The pepperoni pizza had a bit of a zing to it. The sauce was zesty and so was the pepperoni. I asked our server for pizza sauce that wasn't zesty and we did not get that, even though he assured us we would. I'm not a fan of zesty sauce on a pizza. We ended our meal with the ny style cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake. The strawberry shortcake was very big and did not disappoint. My son got the cheesecake. He loved it and was happy it was a big portion. Of course he got to his last few bites and there was a big piece of plastic mixed in the blueberry sauce and cheesecake. We told the server and the manger ended up taking it off the bill. Our only regret was that we didn't get more of those mini burgers. They offer 3, 6 or 9. We got 3 and should have gotten 6. I guess there is always next time!

Restaurant was clean! Service was amazing! Queen our server was amazing! Good portions for majority of the foods. However, for the scallop dish was small and the scallops were over cooked and bland. Everyone else enjoyed their food! The drinks were amazing, the pizza appetizer bread was amazing! We were celebrating a few of our bdays and the restaurant so generously gave us a complementary s’mores pie! Yumm! The apple pie was awesome too, so good! Loved the buttery flavor! Loved the photo opp in the basement but the bathrooms are very inconvenient to be located down there. They do have a single unisex stall upstairs but it’s not always available. I would for sure eat here again! I would just try something different.

Clarence was amazing! Attentive, professional, and genuinely warm — he made the whole Matchbox experience outstanding. One of the best servers I’ve had anywhere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We enjoyed this restaurant. We walked over from the National Art Gallery. Our server was Bronson. He was very attentive. We ordered the artichoke and spinach dip, Caesar salad (which they split for 2), ariccini, and fish & chips. It was a very satisfying meal.

Lives up to the hype! Our Uber driver talked about the brick pizza on the way over. It did not disappoint. The roasted corn and jalapeño pizza was spectacular. Arancini had a roasted tomato sauce that I could eat with a spoon. Clarence was a terrific server!

When going ask for Manny & Davey!!! I sat at the bar and had an exceptional time with the both of them. Very great customer service.

Was very surprised by this place. Was expecting the normal modern American food and got a perfectly cooked burger and chicken sandwich. They gave us a free flatbread with cheese thing which was very nice reasonable prices for the area too.

Manny was great behind the bar. Very friendly, attentive, and clearly knows what he’s doing. I ordered the Bourbon Crisp and it came out perfectly. It was smooth, well-balanced, and had just the right mix of citrus and spice. You can tell he really cares about making a good drink. I’d definitely come back and ask for whatever he’s making.

I recently dined here with my girlfriend the food was really good and our server Brenda was amazing and took good care of us. Made good recommendations for everything we asked. The dessert was amazing and she made sure everything was good. (best dessert I ever had).

Clarence was a great server! Food came out fast, fresh, and delicious!

We stopped by after the Christmas market to warm up and grab a bite. Our waiter, David was new but did a fantastic job answering all our questions and making recommendations. The pizza was great and the atmosphere was just what we needed as we watched the snow fall. We'll be back again soon.

The food was incredible and service from our server Clarence was fantastic. He was prompt and charming, we were eating with my 90 year old grandma and he was excellent making sure she was having a good meal. The chicken sandwich absolutely ripped, and by wife loved her salad. Both the donuts and brownie with ice cream were excellent. The noise was a little loud but not abnormal for a modern restaurant.

I’ve been here twice and have enjoyed my time both times. Manuel served me and coworkers and was so kind and attentive. For a work HH or solo HH I highly recommend! Drinks are great, pizzas better!

My family and I recently dinned here. When we walked in we were taken back by the wonderful atmosphere. We were seated quite quickly. After we sat down and settled in our waitress Marie provided a helpful hand looking through the menu. We decided to have the garlic chicken pizza. It was delicious I recommend asking for ranch on the side. We sat and enjoyed our meal together. At the end of it all we had a pleasant experience and we will be back again.

Manny is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. He’s friendly, professional, and makes everyone feel welcome. My drink is always perfect, and he runs the bar with confidence. Definitely a reason I keep coming back. I highly recommend stopping in.

What a great find. Starting with the "bread" a delicious blend of dough, cheese, garlic and red sauce. The Blackberry Bourbon Smash was perfect on a warm day. The Strawberry Lemon Martini was perfectly balanced. We had the Shrimp and crab fettuccine. Delicious, wish I had more bread to get more sauce. Also the Crispy Chicken Cob salad was fresh and the chicken was well cooked and seasoned. Clarence our server, was quick, friendly and made us feel welcome. The Vibe is excellent with upbeat music and plenty of TV's.

I truly enjoyed my visit to the restaurant. It had a great vibe and music. My server was Manny. He was very nice and friendly. He made great food suggestion. I must say the food was delicious. It was so good that I went back the next night. 1st night I got the shrimp & crab pasta, brownie a la mode & strawberry lemonade. 2nd night I got the baby back ribs, another brownie a la mode, & strawberry lemonade. Overall 5 stars. The next time I visit DC I will definitely be back.

I've been to Matchbox many times. The food is always delicious, especially the pizza. Our server, Treye, was great. He provided a choice of appetizer when we couldn't decide, keeping the experience fun. The spinach artichoke dip was perfect! The fig and prosciutto pizza was delicious, as always, but the carne asada pizza that Treye recommended was truly amazing. Great food and great service!

The food is delicious. We started with the complimentary bread which was way more than anticipated. Delicious pizza crust with cheese and crushed red peppers dipped in marinara. The brussel sprouts are the best I’ve ever had. Seriously awesome. The cauliflower is indulgent, creamy, wow! We split the small pizza and did half and half with the pepperoni hot honey and cheese. The crust is perfectly prepared. Overall delicious! Mey’siune was our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely check this place out!

Had a great time! Marie was my server and made our experience so memorable and special. She was very thorough and was able to make great recommendations based on my allergies/restrictions. Would recommend requesting her!

It was my first time visiting and it was pretty empty and relaxing. Our server was mey'soine and she was very nice and had our order brought to us quickly. We ordered the pesto chicken pizza, which tasted delicious. Would definitely come back.

Branson and Manuel were AMAZING! We came in when it was pretty busy but the service was absolutely amazing. We were all so well taken care of and both Branson and Manuel were incredibly attentive and fun. Not to mention the incredible food and drinks we had. Our favorite dc pizza spot just became our all-time favorite pizza spot!

Our waitress Mey’Soine was absolutely amazing. Her personality, punctuality and attentiveness was truly appreciative. The food and drinks were great and it was an overall great time!

Server was great. Ordered the shrimp and grits, had a nice flavor but the grits were runny like a soupy texture. But the atmosphere was nice.

We had dinner here tonight. The food was okay, but my wife didn’t eat her salad and the fish batter was too greasy. My baby back ribs were just okay - they could have been a little more tender. They did take $6 off our bill for the salad my wife did not eat. Eric our server was nice and polite.

We came for brunch but we sadly were too late. It’s a cute place nice atmosphere and I love the chairs but the star of the show is Clarence. He was great super helpful quick and had a good attitude no matter how many things we sent back or asked for and it was a lot lol.

First time here and I had a good time with my friends. The vibe is great and the atmosphere is inviting. The best part of my experience was not the food (it was okay) but the service and I value that more than anything. Joya (our waitress) was the ABSOLUTE BEST! She was attentive, well spoken, knowledgeable, and beautiful. I would come back just for the service and the vibes. Thank you match box and thank you Joya. #JerseyOut

Tamia was my server and she was Amazing ! So kind patient respectful and very accommodating ! 10/10. We came in for Sunday brunch they unlimited all you can eat. There wasn’t much of a crowd. They’re supposed to be a snowstorm today so it was very mellow actually loved it. I came just myself and my four children so it’s cool. I mean not that they were rowdy, but it was a calm atmosphere. Again, Tamia was amazing. The food was good. I mean I will definitely come back. There were a couple items that weren’t as good the shrimp and grits. I think it was just really the grits. But everything else was great. Didn’t get much food but The pancakes were amazing, the chicken and waffles, spinach artichoke dip ! French toast hard pass, steak and eggs were good could’ve been great (steak need better season/salt), pizza ALWAYS great ! Cinnamon rolls may pass next time. The drinks were good average and great deal For Brunch price though. Thank you Tamia ! I’ll definitely be back !

Pizza was solid. Tried the margherita and pepperoni. The salads were wonderful too. The place was crowded and we waited for over an hour and then had to remind them we were there. The cheesy bread they brought to the table was wonderful. If it's cold outside try not to sit near the door, the draft that comes in will smack you.

Personally didn't have a great time with party but the place good for what I thought it was going to be. The bar tender Mnauel was nice, he made a good Strawberry/Lemon drop with sugar rim my wife loved. Last couple places they way over did the vodka or bo sugar rim.

We went here for a late lunch. It was a good atmosphere, chill and relaxed. Our waitress was ok but seemed like she wasnt having the best day. We started with the flat bread- sooo yummy! It was just basically pizza crust with cheese and spice but it was really good. We both ordered the double bacon burger and a beer. I ordered mine medium, no onions. It came well, with onions. It was not a bad burger… just meh. I didnt find it very flavorful and for boasting double bacon…it was lacking. My friend got her burger no onions, no egg and medium well. It came out medium but otherwise great. She loved hers. The real star of the show were the fries. Absolutely delicious- thin, crispy and perfectly salted- yum. Not a bad place to grab a quick bite. I would go back but would probably try something else and skip the burger.

I usually love the Nashville hot crispy chicken sandwich at Matchbox. But this time, it felt off and not fresh. The sandwich tasted like oil. There was no particular fresh and spicy taste to their sandwich this time. The wings were alright.

I was there 12/04/2025 around 4:30pm I placed an order Lg. Pizza ½pepperoni ½fire&smoke no basil on fire&smoke and add sausage and as Manuel was putting my order on his device I literally explained to him verbally that to please communicate with the kitchen about my order and I said extra crispy. So I'm soo glad I now have the habit of checking my food before leaving the establishment when I order to-go. No sausage on the half and they added basil to the pizza as well as the pizza looked hungry itself 💯😂🤣😂💯 don't know what the kitchen staff and Manuel (bartender) are really doing ⁉️💯⁉️ the funny part is that it wasn't busy 💯😂🤣😂💯

On Wednesday evening Feb. 18, 2026, our server Treye was a model of patience, kindness, promptness, attentiveness. Food was delicious and reasonably sized. However the atmosphere was deplorable because no one in the restaurant could carry on a conversation without having to shout over both the recorded music and then the live performer (a jazz keyboard player). We asked our server if the amplification could be slightly lowered, but he was unable to help. Lesson: Any restaurant that plays music so loudly that patrons cannot converse without shouting shows disdain for customer comfort and for employee health and safety (a serious OSHA violation). I won't be back despite the good server and food because the deliberate loudness of the restaurant spoiled my meal.

I ordered shrimp and grits and nothing like pictured. Where is the JUMBO shrimp? The sauce? The Cheese? They wouldn't even make an attempt to redeliver. $30 for this plate of trash. Dont eat here unless in person so you can hold them accountable for their mishaps. Extremely UPSET
