The better mcdonalds in waterford. Food is always decent from here

Great tasty food but a very busy place might be because it's right next to some busy shopping centres of the city... McDonald should consider keeping some cleaning staff who can clean the tables as soon as customers leave! It's very difficult for the staff who are already busy delivering orders to keep up with cleaning tables!!

Today my son was very unwell in McDonalds on the cork Rd in Waterford. I was very anxious and a lady called Mary helped me and sorted out everything and didn't make me feel embarrassed. She was so nice and so good to me and my son. Its not often you see staff who would be as kind and helpful. Thank you Mary and I have shared this with McDonalds head office. They are lucky to have you.

We frequent different McDonald's quite a lot. By far this was best, the fries and burgers were piping hot and as were the chicken nuggets,

Great service.Doesn't take too long to order the food and for the food to be received. Spacious outdoor dining space also available. Parking spaces are available but limited. Weekend mornings are quite and it is a great spot for breakfast.

Good seating area inside and outside. If you want to eat inside being proof of vaccination, otherwise you would be asked nicely to sit outside which is great as well. Personally I would like to sit outside anyways... Staff is nice and polite.

McDonald's is McDonald's, nothing different from any other McDonald's but this one seems to be a busy place with a drive-thru which is fine but it might not be situated in the best place as traffic coming up to it and in it itself was very congested. Nice little eating area outside and the female toilets are clean. Other than the traffic situation, it's was a good experience.

First time in an Irish McDonald's, but pretty good for what it is. Friendly (obviously) staff, efficient service despite evening rush, fairly clean. Just a bit cramped.

Really pleasant place, food was good and service excellent. Car park on the other hand was appalling! Not enough room to swing a cat around and everyone was in everyone else's way. Needs a rethink I think!

I have commented on this provider before see my notes. Generally service and offering predictability good. Hard to differentiate between McD franchises and indeed competitors like BK or KFC standards are similarly high.

Just a normal McDonald’s the only reason for 4 and not 5 is that they usually don’t have milk or carrots to add to happy meal and are not the best at dealing with busy times cleanliness wise. Normally clean but avoid busy times

Still by far one of the best places for coffee around. This one on the Cork road is generally very good, the waiting delivery "colleagues" can be very annoying though at times. Standing around in the way. They rarely sit in designated area. Overall a good one for staff and service.

Other then memories of one rude male staff from a previous visit and order mix up … things went fast, food was Macdonald’s

We stopped of for a quick snack. I was impressed with how clean it was considering it was a wet and miserable day. We ordered our food and seat at a table it wasn't long before we got our order and everything we got was good 😀. As I haven't eat in McDonald's for a long time I was pleasantly surprised much better than I expected.

It's your normal McDonald's. Food is ok. It's a treat for the kids. It can be very busy with the drive thru and hard to get into the small car park due to that but other then that it's ok. I will go back

It's always so busy and packed with the drive through moving like a slug trail, I went for their caramel frappe cause it's the only thing I get from them and after waiting so long it was my turn and was told there was no frappe as the machine was broken. Why not just put up a sign so people know and don't waste time waiting.

It's McDonalds food so what's there to add really. Went through the drive through, the order taker was nice enough but the server pays no mind to detail. No napkins no salt sachet no ketchup in the bag. We shouldn't have to ask for these. More training required.

The drive through queue was so long, I parked up and went in only to find 1 touchboard menu was working out 4. Had to wait a while as a man was letting his 2 children ahead of me, work the display. Trying to exit the carpark was even trickier. The drive-through queue had blocked the carpark entrance/exit. Very poorly designed, they should have somebody outside to stop stupid drivers from blocking exits. Fries carton was full and they were hot, which helped.

The most expensive coffee (10c more) in Ireland's Mcdonalds (even more expensive than the Dublin airport Mcdonalds), only in Waterford. The Coffee & Treat deal cancels the difference out.

The food was hot but they brought me a medium instead of a large meal which was irritating as I was tired and hungry so I just ate it rather than complaining

Food was fine. Tried to do 2 different transactions from the one car and told we couldn't because it could cause a delay despite the drive thru not being at all busy. Disappointing that we had to drive through a second time not the have the kids disappointed. Probably will try somewhere else the next time

Took an awful long time to serve my food, I was looking at the bag on a counter with something missing for 10 minutes, with no explanation from the staff. Not fast and obviously mediocre food.

Why is there only one drive through McDonald's in Waterford? Lay out of car park is atrocious. Cars at times can't get in or out of the area. Have driven on on a few occasions rather than get stuck in there.

The loudspeaker was defective and the music sounded screeching.

Fries amounts are inconsistent. Burgers are usually OK, but haphazardly put together and typically need to do some reconstructing. Half of the lettuce is usually in the box, burger hanging out one side, cheese hanging out the other. Would take 1 extra second of effort to stack a neat burger ready to eat. Don't count on getting napkins, salt or sauces, even if you ask.

They messed up my single meal order on two separate occasions it's hit or miss depending on time of day to quality of food

Food was good, tables were dirty, hand dryer in the toilets was useless, no paper towels, about average for a mcdonalds. The big Arch is lovely and Picture This were brilliant in the RSC across the road.

the service was good but the atmosphere felt like the workers were judjing and the worst of all i was drinking my coke and found a toenail in the drink so this has to be worst mcdonalds in the country. DO NOT COME HERE!!

it's not the first time that i ordered food for takeaway here in your branch and you've missed an order, again. for all, please check your takeaway bag for your orders before going out of the place. staffs are very busy and can make mistakes like this.

Ridiculous drive thru, 2 separate lanes for ordering but not actually 2 individual lanes to drive on, you actually end up blocking traffic trying to get out from other shop behind McDonald's then after 2 different cars make their order you are corralled back into one lane because there is only one payment and one collection point which leaves drivers trying to get ahead of each other first which inevitable causes frustrations and possible rows. Absolutely absurd so it is, took 45mins to get through this mental setup, what a waste of time...in future Supermacs here I come!! I should say all the staff were very nice though.

Iced caramel frappe wasn’t blended right. Could have done with some more blending as shown by the glacier found in my drink.

Chips were cold and dry and covered with salt Burger bun was cold, doughy and chewy, chicken in burger was OK. Chap that was making burger left first one fall on ground then kicked it under counter while he went to get brush and shovel to clean it up. Then came but never cleaned his hands after holding brush and shovel. Milk shake was warm Girl serving wasn't the friendliest. Pity as I wax really looking forward to a McDonald's

Never seem to get the order right, drive through or delivery. Missing items every single time. Sometimes in drive through food cold and stale, how is that possible?

Says online they are open until 1 am but when I got to the drive through at 00:03 they turned their screens off, I drove to the window and they wouldnt unlock it, just shook their heads and signaled they are closed. Also I went another few times at midnight recently for a coffee and every time they insisted they were sold out of coffee which I don't believe.

We order off of just eat and have never been in the restaurant itself. However the food that we do order on too many an occasion has been wrong. Either it has the wrong food items or there are items in a burger that we have asked removed. This is not acceptable as it means there is little to no quality control or supervision over the construction of the orders. This can lead to serious problems like if a customer has an allergy to an item on the burger which could, if serious enough, can lead to a lawsuit. If it weren't for the fact that this has happened before we wouldn't check the food, luckily we aren't allergic to any items but somone could be.

It lacks spaces sometimes. The kids' computers/bouncepads have been broken for ages and they never fix it!!! Kids have to fight for the only 1 working.

Chips were only half cooked, only noticed at home but luckily the Ninja fryer fixed them. McDonald's wasn't even busy so no excuse for giving rushed half cooked food out

Last time they forgot the nuggets, this time they forgot the big tasty! It's not thr customers job to be double checking after them. Manager, definitely shouldn't be a mamager! She has an attitude and instead of rectifying the issue, she just made it worse "happens when we are busy" - that's not an answer because the customer has paid for it Always check if you have your full order before you leave the place

Definately the worst McDonald's I've ever had the misfortune to stumble across. The friendly manager, politely asked me to sit outside on wet seats to eat a rasher drowned in ketchup in a stale burned bun that they called a breakfast roll. It would have been 1 star or less but for her nice manner.

Worst McDonalds in Ireland, last four visits have had missing items from orders, no napkins or salt or ketchup and wrong order (even though the receipt and label on the burgers say otherwise). Large chips are only half full and drive thru is a mess. Supposed to close at 12am however the drive thru is barriered off at 11.20pm.

Probably the worst macdonlds I've Been too. Car park and drive through were a joke. I had to laugh Inside when I saw the men wearing hair and beard nets and the girls having their pony tails swinging everywhere. 🤣 Mint milkshake which I was looking forward to was rotten!!!

Went tonight the 25 of July and 29 minutes before they close we line up, no answer at the order point, drive to window and they say sorry but we are short staffed, is this a joke, supposed to be open till 1 am and now they are short staffed, does any of the owners look at these reviews, shocking tbh, owners ur staff are leaving u down, shame on them and ye, ridiculous. Ye be better off farming or something

Awful Awful Awful, ordering food through just eat and going through the drive thru. They always mix up the orders even when you call to complain the staff are rude and blame others. When you ask for something not to be included on any item there’s a reason for it. Staff don’t listen no offer to replace any missing or wrong items. So it’s money in McDonald’s pocket. Customers at a loss, and judging my comments I’m not the only one this is effecting. What are McDonald’s going to do about this?? Not just Waterford I’m sure it happens through all the locations. To the management in Waterford get it sorted. You’re losing valued customers because of this inconsiderate behavior. Look after your customers.

For the 3rd time I was left short of items in my order at the drive through which meant I had to turn around and go back to get my missing items. Also why have a phone number listed when you wont even answer it and then between calls you take it off and leave it off the hook. Really bad customer service.

Absolutely sick and tired of getting the wrong order from the drive thru. And the chips always seem like they've been sitting on a heater for 20 mins. I love McDonald's but Jesus this one is after going down hill. The staff either need a shuffle or a pay rise to encourage them to do their jobs.

Poor quality of food and a very slow service. Don't know who came up with this idea of paying for your order and then standing around waiting for the food. It might work if there was somewhere to stand and not get on the way of other people. Also be nice if the staff making the food where wearing gloves.

This McDonalds is a joke. Three times my order was wrong ended up with no breakfast and had to get a refund. The staff there now are a disgrace i was treated terribly. Then i placed a complaint and am totally flabbergasted at the response. I am devastated as over the years its been a favourite of mine. Totally disappointed in McDonalds.

2nd time in this place in last two days. One day burger was missing in order, another ordered happy meal, 4 cheeseburgers and small coke. Coming home, there is 4 cheeseburgers, small coke, and my happy meal contains two small bags of chips and a toy. F 5 eur for 2 small chips. Can't go every time back 15 kilometers with wrong orders done. Never gonna order here. Have been there twice, people working there can't even count to three for basic happy meal.

I went through the drive thru today at 11 o'clock with my partner and little brother. My little brother ordered 2 hamburgers with ONLY pickle and when we went to the second window I double checked to see if the burgers were right which they weren't., there was only ketchup on them! I went back around to the first window and my partner explained to the man on the first window that they were the wrong ones , then the man was so rude and tried to argue with us saying "well I only heard ketchup" and my partner tried to explain to him that my little brother cannot eat ketchup as he has an allergy but still the man continued to argue. I am appalled of this service I got this morning from this man, absolutely ridiculous customer service!! I will not be returning to this McDonald's!!

Avoid at all costs ordered two meals and two ice creams. All that came was two burgers and two drinks. How can you possibly forget fries? They have messed up every single time we have ordered from them but this is just insane. Not even a straw with the order. Desperate stuff. Delivery driver said to ring. They do not answer the phone. Went there 28th of march and there was a man in there who absolutely in the worst way possible smelt like urine I was with there with my friend and she smelt it too. I mentioned it to a worker and he said that he was a regular who comes at breakfast times so if you want breakfast go through the drive through so you don’t have to smell him

Went in at 11.05 am for a BigMac... took 10 mins to prepare. Was expecting fresh and hot burger. Gosh how wrong was I, tepid at best. Very disappointed, when it was early with only a handful of customers sitting in..

Visit the drive thru of Mc Donalds on the Cork road Waterford .at the drive thru I was handed out cold food.then staff closed the window . beep to get there attention with six staff in the serve point not one of them came to my attention regarding the above the only attention for them when 12 cars where held up to get there attention. service on the above bad it will be a by pass for me the next time not a drive thru at the above . let the bad service continue.it great to have plenty of competitions Mc Donalds would want to get the establishment in order. or there dont like job employees.will run it in to the ground .and you as a paying customer that keeps them in there job for a deplorable service at the above.give different point of view just bring your business elsewhere for better friendly service not get a slide window shut in your face after paying for unacceptable cold food I will up date this review going forward.. driving thru McDonald's is one thing seeing thru McDonald's is an other thing.or it some like there jobs and some don't whitin the establishment and this why I am here updating this review .No apologies from McDonald's one of many. the public has to experience it from themselves or the take it or leave it service from the above. Found blonde hair in my food and apple pie. 🤮 so gross couldn’t eat it and threw it out. Also my sprite was just fizzy water. Very unhappy, worst McDonald’s won’t be back.

Staff on cash register unsure. Kept asking same questions even though I ordered correctly. No receipts. Given a wrong order number and no numbers up on screen. A monosyllabic call out. Not a friendly look never mind a greeting. Leaving there 3 staff tidying up shrubbery and rubbish. Not the best morning. Food average. Cold egg too much ketchup. No tray offered and I was eating inside.

Absolutely incompetent. Can't give a correct order at the drive through, at the till or through just eat to save themselves. Avoid it at all costs, you'll pay for food you'll never see and if you do get the food it will be cold or wrong in some way.

Food was grand but after a long trip from across the country your hoping to be respected when you go into a restaurant, not being spoke about and sniggering at you and your partner from behind the counter. They were Two boys , one small with glasses and a tall lanky one. Terrible state of work and considering I don’t even know these people , I’d hate to be A regular .

Lately it's gone down hill, the last three times I've been there everything was wrong between drinks being just pure water and no mix and today burgers actually stone cold. As for staff with hair nets but managers walking around food with no hair nets does their hair not fall out ?? Very very poor

Went here with 5 grandkids, never again. A chicken sandwich meal and a spit of mayonnaise on it and shredded lettuce. Terrible. Take your kids/ grandkids to a proper hotel or feed them at home. Never again

My Wrap order was touched with bare hands, and the chicken inside it is unacceptable in a food service establishment... They must comply with sanitary regulations. Also, the girl I complained to lied about washing their hands every 7 minutes. I watched the guy who made my Wrap, and he stood there for a very long time, at least 40 minutes... I also heard from your employee that half of them don't wash their hands at all. How am I supposed to know what they were doing with their hands? I'm waiting for an answer.😡😡😡

Ordered food asked for a strawberry lemonade with my meal, they gave me a strawberry milkshake so I said I asked for a strawberry lemonade and they changed it and gave me a strawberry Sakura which I also didn't ask for, so he told me they don't do strawberry lemonade so I just got a medium coke zero and I payed for a large meal and extra for the strawberry milkshake (that I didn't ask for). Took it because it was painful to deal with! Opened the bag chips were cold no bacon on one of the burgers which I asked for and payed for! Serve was terrible, communication skills were terrible and the food was terrible. Very disappointing experience, should of went to Supermacs! 0 stars but I had to give one.

WORST MCDONALDS IN THE COUNTRY!! Every time I order here there is always issue, incompetent staff and whoever was working with on September 11th 2025 past 10:30pm has GOT to be spoken to as there was multiple missing items from my order, when I tried to contact the store as per usual, no response, staff needs to be looked into here as they clearly have no clue how to make an order.

Went in looked open says it’s open online and store was open yet closed as they said they were doing repairs which it didn’t say online or at drive through. Had the smallest om open entry door, didn’t even get in the door had a construction worker tell us it wasn’t open

Forgot most of my food, all chips no burgers. Rang and had a guy on who could barely speak English properly which made situation worse as I had to repeat myself multiple times to be understood. Refused to send rest of the food to me, expected me to go down to get it with no compensation, I have a newborn so can’t move why I got it delivered. I told him to just come pick up chips for full refund and refused again. Worst experience will never be back again.

I've limited mobility and wanting to eat healthy I choose a grilled chicken salad a fruit bag and a medium diet coke in the drive through. What I got was a side salad and three grapes and half an apple and the drink €10.30. Total and utter daylight robbery. Not recommend at all. They are lucky I am giving them even the one star. Not a happy customer 😡😡
