Best greek food I've ever had! The gyros are amazing and the tzatziki can't be beat. The workers are also always friendly and welcoming.

Best greek in the area by far. The food is always fresh and delicious. Used to live around the block and ordered 2x a week. Still try to get over there a couple times a month. You can taste such a difference in the quality of the ingredients vs restaurants...the chicken is always super tender and juicy. The veggies are fresh and it's real lettuce, not just a tinny little sprinkling of shredded iceberg. Unbelievably consistent and always delicious. Prices are reasonable.

After driving an hour home from, I decided to stop by this cute little Greek spot. I ordered a lamb gyro, with extra sauce on the side, just incase enough was added. THIS GYRO WAS A AMAZING, THE BEST SAUCE I HAVE TASTED IN A WHILE. The gyro was man sized. After working a 12 hr this is exactly what I needed. I will definitely be back real soon. Thank you. Their food makes me feel like I am in Greece all over again. Their food is so fresh and delicious. There is no other Greek Restaurant that I go to besides them. I have had their gyros, chicken doner sandwich, Greek pizza, Mediterranean pizza, the list goes on. Every time I try something new I have never been disappointed even their chicken wings are amazing. If you have not try this restaurant yet you must go you will not be disappointed.

I stopped in to order a small Greek salad. When they brought it out,I thought they gave me the big one by mistake but nope,it was just larger than I expected. It was delicious! I went back and had a falafel on a pita and it was excellent! It's more of a takeout than eat in, but it is close to me so I just walk over.

I eat at Avli West Hempstead for work and when they opened in Bellmore near home I was so excited. Their food is amazing, I always get their kopanisti which is addicting. They're reasonably priced and always good quality. Staff is very friendly.

Fresh and delicious to my surprise. Small spot but let me tell you the food was scrumptious! Chicken was tender and not over cooked with a chared taste. Happened to be visiting the auto dealer next door, was hungry so we decided to stop in and check the place out. We ordered the Cauliflower Poppers, Skirt Steak platter, Chicken platter and Shrimp platter, with potatoes. The drive home was tortuous because the smell of the food was so damn good it was driving us nuts. And we were not disappointed when we got home. Everything was as delicious as it smelled . The Skirt steak was tender, nicely seasoned, and a nice size for the price, my son said the shrimp were big, and plentiful, and the lemon potatoes were off the chain too. We will definitely make a return visit to check out their menu further, everyone is very happy.

About an hour ago I ordered food from B Greek kitchen in Lynbrook. You could go read my review on their page for how horrible that experience was. That being said I ended up canceling it and ordering from this place whose name I can’t even pronounce. Let me tell you something the food was ready in 10 minutes more delicious than I ever could’ve imagined and service was super friendly. I will 100% be back. Especially considering the time the other place was taking to make my food was longer than the drive to this one and back.

One of the best Greek places around! I love the spinach pie, soups and their salads are amazing! The tzatziki sauce is the best I ever had. Everything is homemade and always so fresh. It’s not too pricey either.

OMG. This little place is big on food delivering knockout dishes. We are so glad we gave them a try, and you can bet we're going to be returning. The Cauliflower poppers are delicious, and the sauces add to them. My favorite was the white sauce. My son had a Shrimp platter with the Greek lemon potatoes, said the Shrimp is large, plentiful and delicious. Daughter-in-law had the chicken platter and said it was juicy and delicious. I had the Skirt steak platter. The Skirt steak was a nice size, tender, perfectly seasoned, and the lemon potatoes were very delicious as well. The portions were nice as well. This place is a hidden jewel. If you take your food home, be prepared to be tortured because the smell of the food just permeated the car, and made us want to get home faster because it smelled soooooo good. It tasted as good as it smelled.

Cozy place, food is prepared quickly and served fresh at reasonable prices. I have yet to try anything here that did not feel/taste as if was just created the moment i ordered it. Things I recommend are the gyros of course, their house soup is fantastic, and the skirt steak platter is on point. This is my go-to place for Greek food...hope that helps 😊

Always a great experience here. In our opinion it is the best Greek place in town. Great food for a great price in comparison to others nearby. The place is kept very clean and it is always service with a smile. I would recommend anybody to stop by. Parking can be a chore due to the location.

So we have recently been turned on to Greek food and decided to try this place out. Holy cow am I glad we did. Everything we had was awesome. The lemon potatoes are amazing. We had the regular Gyro and a chicken doner(?) and both were great. Even the regular french fries were really good. As said, its a tiny space with just a few chairs so take out would probably work best during the busy times. Street parking too so you keep that in mind. Cant wait to go back.

I'm reviewing Avli Bayside on Bell Boulevard. The food is fresh well-prepared and delicious. The Ambiance is that of an excellent Neighborhood Place. Lots of people having their lunches there families groups of friends it's a very cheerful place. Try the rack of lamb if you want to have your mind blown.

The Greek salad was absolutely delicious!!!! The portion size for a large was wonderful. I ate the salad there and saved the rest for dinner and lunch the next day. Service with a smile. There isn't table seating. It's countertop style like at a diner.

Avli is by far my favorite Greek restaurant. It's mainly just for takeout/delivery for me as the interior is small, but the staff is very nice and you can't beat this place for quality of food, everything is delicious. The tzaziki in particular has way more flavor than any I've had from other places. It's so good that I always order a large appetizer portion so there's plenty to share because we put it on everything! Over the past year, Avli has become the only Greek restaurant I ever order from. Even though we've cut back on how often we order food (trying to cook more at home), their food is so good that I have to order from there at least once every month or two.

My brother put me on to Avli's and I love him for it! The souvlaki chicken is incredible - nice and tender, the marinade is delicious. I've only gotten food a small handful of times but I will say that the quality has been consistently good. I will absolutely be back!

I enjoy a good gyro and this place has good gyros. I ordered two gyro platters. The platter comes with a choice of greek salad or soup, lemon potatoes, french fries or rice. I chose the Greek salad and lemon potatoes. When I got the platters home I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 good size salads. The potatoes and meat in one platter were enough for two people. We have enough for another meal!! The tzatziki sauce was great. It tasted the way I remembered it. Most tzatziki sauces nowadays taste like plain sour cream. The lemon potatoes were good without being too lemony. The meal is well worth the price. I will definitely be visiting Avli again.

Cozy place for a couple unfortunately they only have room for a wrap around counter to eat But Great Greek Food . Ment for take out. But in a pinch a couple or if you have the urge for a Gyro or one of their Greek specializes forget the fries go for the lemon potatoes and their chicken lemon soup. Top knotch food.

Stopped here for a quick lunch after seeing them featured on cable TV's Restaurant Hunter. I had the chicken soufla which arrived in a few minutes and had all my favorite ingredients wrapped in Pitta bread. The chicken was a little dry, probably having lain in the pan awhile after being cut. Service was friendly and I will definitely return. Parking can be a bit dicey, but I was told it's OK to use the Dunkin Donuts lot next store. There is delivery service, but no mens/ladies rooms. I just stopped in again but had the Donner chicken on pitta bread , photo included. I am saving some of it for later as the serving was so generous, and delicious. I think the tzatzike could use a bit more zip, garlic?

Pretty much a take out place with 8 bar seats. Street side parking only, may need to park across the street in a shopping area. Falafel is flavorful. The pork souvlaki plater's pork is flavorful, option of Greek salad veggies were fresh, but no olive or caper; the pita bread came out warm and the texture was just okay. We came in at odd hours, didn't have problem with the wait. Would like to come back to try their gyro.

Average food. High prices. My chicken souvlaki is always overcooked, dry and tasteless. Yet I keep going back because their location is convenient. It alwats seems like kids are running the show there. No adults in sight.

The food is delicious and the portions are reasonable. However, it can be a bit disappointing that the staff consists of young kids who seem to be more focused on their cell phones than the customers.

I am only giving it three stars because although the food is excellent, I have never been in and out of there in a good amount of time. I called in an order for just a salad to be picked up, she said 15 mins. I get there in 20 mins, paid, waited another 10 minutes. It shouldn't take over a half an hour for just a salad. The staff is very friendly and like I said before, the food is great which is why I will be going back, but I think service and speed need to be improved!

I oredered a greek salad, it was delicious. The rice wrapped in grape leaves in the salad was yummy. However, the gyro, was small compared to others. Not as much meat and just tasted mediocre. Service was not great.

Walked in on the owner yelling the other day just cursing on the phone. Thank god I do take out. And not to forget. It’s always someone new at the front. Employee turnover seems high.

The white sauce tasted so fresh, it made this experience wonderful flavor. Fresh sandwich , however I am looking for an all beef gyro just beef nothing added. Completely beef only. There is chicken gyro, or lamb with beef mixed. I drove from Jamaica Queens thinking the had an all beef gyro. It was not. Over all the fresh sauce made the sandwich great.

The exteriors are welcoming, but the interiors not so much. I had ordered Cauliflower poppers with Marinara sauce. Food tasted okay. It took a while to be served. The quantity is great though! Gave it shot, but would skip it next time.

“The owners yell at us and don’t let us do that anymore.” -Avli Employee Before my most recent experience I’d of given this place 5 stars. A friend had mentioned they were craving Greek food, so I suggested Avli because the food is delicious. I always get the same thing when I order from there; Chicken soulvaki on a pita and I ask if they can add rice into the pita(normally they question rice in the pita, as it’s odd, i know lol) but they ALWAYS accommodated me, may have charged me a little extra which was fine and never gave me a problem. A recent Sunday I called to place an order for said friend and myself for pick up. We order 2 platters and I order my usual Chicken soulvaki on a pita. The girl who answered the phone seemed annoyed when I asked for rice to be added into the pita and stated, “We don’t put rice in the pita.” To which I informed her that Its never been an issue before. As someone who has worked in the food industry and is now in customer service her response baffled and annoyed me. With an attitude she said, “Well the owners yell at us and don’t want us to do that anymore. If you want a side of rice we can do that.” Could I have taken the side of rice and added it in myself? Of course, but her attitude and dismissal of the situation, especially when this accomodation has been done for me every time for well over a year irritated me. Needless to say I ended up canceling my order and haven’t ate at Avli since. If the owners or employees won’t accomodate something as simple as adding rice i’ll trek to Lynbrook where they will.

Love the food but the cashiers are extremely nasty!!!!! If you want a dose of stink attitude with your order that's the place to go... As much as I like the manager and have complained about those girls I will never go back in there! I've had enough of they're horrible attitudes.

The lemon in the potatoes was delicious. The lemon service experience was not. Dined here with my young child on October 4th at about 1pm. The food was good and I've been here several times and the food has been good each time so if you don't care about the service and only care about the food you're good to go and don't need to read further. If you do however care about service you may be in for a rude awakening. They have a sign posted that they pass on credit card charges to their customers (an unfortunate practice favored by many long island restaurants....what's next, charging me for your utility bills?) but that wasn't my issue. I pay in cash when I can to avoid this practice and tried to do so today. I only had a $100 bill (which is a rarity for me) and the girl at the register told me she.could not break the bill. I completely understood and wouldn't hold this against anyone. I produced my credit card and she told me there was nothing she could do about the service charge. I pointed out that she was forcing me to pay with a credit card and that I had offered her cash. She repeated to me she could not break the bill. Again, I said that was fine but the fact that they had no small change was their issue not mine. After a huff, a pout and a death stare she told me she would "waive" the service charge. She then proceeded to drop our lunch plates heavily in front of us and served up enough stink eye to fill a pint glass. I'm sitting with my 6 year old. Please grow up miss. I understand I may be petty in not wanting to subsidize their business costs (you accept credit cards because it brings you more business!) but it's not my issue that you can't break a bill. Treat people with respect. I really don't want my support for your restaurant to come with a side of stink eye. Not sure if I'll be back but if I see this girl at the front again I'll eat elsewhere.

Something is always off here. The price online is different from the price you are charged. That's an FTC violation right there. Sometimes they can not customize what you want because the food is premade. Sometimes you have to wait much longer than they estimated. Sometimes you get inexperience people who play or text on their phone when you are in front of them. Sometimes they mess up the order a little or a lot. There is always something off here for how much they charge you. The food is really good though. That's why it's 2 stars, not a 1 star review.

First time here, took an order to go and ate in my car (seats inside were all barstools but the table was too high to comfortably eat). Unfortunately not great. The salad was amazing! It was extremely fresh, the feta cheese was amazing, and the vinaigrette they added was amazing. However the gyro meat was very sad. I’m assuming I came later in the day and just got the crumbs leftover but it was all grounded, no long shreds like typical gyro meat and it was in a pool of grease that got my fries all greasy too. The pita bread was also overcooked and go hard. So overall, unfortunately would not recommend. Another thing is some of the pricing on their menu items is a bit wonky. For example, you can add a pita for $1.5, but if I wanted a side of tzatziki with that, I would’ve needed to get their pita appetizer which is just an extra pita and it would’ve been $8.50! The staff were friendly and kind though so I commend them for their service.

I work in the area and we have ordered from Avli over the years. Lately, it seems to get worse and worse. Portions get smaller, prices keep getting higher and no concern when you call to complain. What has made me write this review is they have NOT informed us when we called to place order that they are now charging a delivery fee and a 3.5 percent credit card fee. We were told that they will not accept cash, only credit card. When we ordered 2 weeks ago, it was a minimal delivery fee of $1.36 ( this does not include tipping of driver which they ask if you want to put that on credit card but never mention delivery fee) so we let it go. When we ordered lunch yesterday, it went up to $4.72 delivery fee in just 2 weeks and again did not inform us but asked if we wanted to put delivery person on credit card. We tipped the delivery person with cash. Between delivery fee and tip , it was $10 on an order that was less than $50. But more than the cost is that they never mention the delivery fee on their current menu , nor on the phone when placing the order. When we called to complain, there was no apology, owner is aware of complaints and that’s the way it is. No wanting to make it up to customers who have been long time customers. It is unscrupulous business practice and not very smart. They just lost not only our office, but also some who live locally. They feel that Avli has gotten out of control with their costs and lack of transparency. They will not be using their services again either.

I decided to try this place because of the glowing reviews, ordered take out and wound up getting food poisoning. Not happy to say the least.

Bad food and bad service. Manager on 12/5/21 was extremely rude over the phone. Excused our food being cold and poor quality because they are “busy tonight”. Didn’t offer any kind of refund, had a nasty attitude. Really poor quality food, we threw it in the trash.

Maybe the worst gyro and Greek salad ever. They put a slab of feta cheese on salad. Salty beyond belief. Staff is nice but food was worst I’ve had.

I will never patronize the Bayside or any of his other restaurants again. The owner sees me there all the time. I go to the take out restaurant in Bellmore often. The owner in Bayside talks to me and says if you need anything ask. So I made plans with eight of my relatives to dine at his restaurant tomorrow. I call first to give the restaurant a heads up. Well the owner that says just ask if you need anything refused to accommodate me. Claims 8 people will stay to long. And 6 won’t ? He was nasty to. I came here to eat dinner with my family and the front worker a small size female, looked pretty young looked at my brother and said go home because it was close to closing and I figured she wanted to leave. After that she continue to say out loud “I feel bad, oh no I don’t”. The food was good but work was very nasty and unprofessional.

Guess they only have good gyros....old spanakopita not even fresh...best part served on top of not fresh lemon potatoes that were aswell not good. If i wanted a spanakopita sogged in lemon i would have asked i guess a seperate tray was to much for them. The greek salad was sloppy. Ordered thru grub hub will never order again. 3rd time bad taste in my mouth and i grew up in astoria. This is actually a joke of a greek place smh. Take more pride in what u serve and how u serve it. U lucky this is long island. I wont even post pictures its a shame.

We used to like it here, but the quality of the food has gone off a cliff in the last year, and they've significantly raised their prices at the same time. The salmon looks like what you'll find in the freezer at Stop and Shop, and our recent order of Greek Fries was half raw. My falafel also contained a hard, sandy substance that felt like gravel. I don't know if they switched suppliers, or hired new kitchen staff, but we're done here. It's a shame!

I recently ordered from Avli, a Greek restaurant that I had heard good things about. However, my experience turned out to be quite disappointing. The quality of the food I received fell far below my expectations, leaving me unsatisfied and dissatisfied, especially considering the hefty price tag. Firstly, the salad I ordered, priced at $18, was a complete letdown. It arrived drenched in an excessive amount of dressing, making it overly soggy. I appreciate a well-dressed salad, but this was beyond acceptable. The excess dressing completely ruined the texture and taste, making it an unappetizing and messy experience. To pay such a high price for a salad that was mishandled and soaked in dressing was truly disheartening. To make matters worse, the Greek meatballs I ordered were clearly undercooked and had a mushy texture. It was evident that they were not cooked thoroughly, and biting into them was a rather unpleasant experience. The lack of proper cooking compromised the flavors and left me questioning the overall hygiene and attention to detail in the kitchen. For the price I paid, I expected a well-executed and flavorful dish, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Adding to the disappointment, the meatballs were supposed to be accompanied by tzatziki, a classic Greek sauce that adds a delightful touch to the dish. However, it was missing from my order entirely. The absence of tzatziki was a significant oversight, as it would have complemented the meatballs and elevated the flavors. It felt like a complete disservice to the traditional Greek cuisine that I had been expecting, especially considering the high price point. As a paying customer, I believe it is essential to receive quality food that meets the advertised standards, especially when paying a premium. Unfortunately, my experience at Avli fell short in several aspects. The soggy salad, undercooked and mushy meatballs, and the absence of tzatziki were all major disappointments, particularly given the $18 price for the salad. I hope that the restaurant takes these criticisms constructively and makes improvements to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for its customers in the future but I will not be returning!

Hi just had a delivery earlier today. First time ordering. I got four chicken Slovakia sticks. They wrapped up the sticks so tight in plastic and foil that I was unable to open it. Then when I opened it, it smelled like chemical. Never again I’m ordering from this place. That was totally disgusting. I threw it out.

This place used to be really good but progressively got worse and worse. We just ordered 2 orders of meatballs, and 2 chicken appetizers… the food was drenched in oil, it was just disgusting. Posted is a photo of one of the bags. What a waste as we used to like the food a lot. What a shame

Let’s start with the fact that the order never seems to be correct. Tonight they completely forgot the Greek salad included with the platter. My wife’s Greek salad (just a few pieces of lettuce minus anything else resembling a Greek salad) came squished underneath her hot talapia. The presentation of the food isn’t worth serving to a dog. The price was still close to $50 for the two platters. We’re done with this garbage called Avli.
