We went to the upstairs room for a repast after my aunt/godmother died. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent, and the private room was the perfect atmosphere and fit for our small group.

I would like to thank the entire staff of Galley Grille. Amazing food amazing waitstaff. There are no words for how much fun we had while we were there. You were comfort in a storm. Btw we were the group of crazy fun singing girls on July 31st🤣🤣 I believe we stayed your entire shift that night. Thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a treat finding this place! Just a walk from the Hampton Inn. Entertainment and great food. Hubby had the shrimp and schrod and I had prime rib. Both of us were VERY happy with our choice. A delightful evening indeed!

Best fish and chips we’ve ever had.

Clam chowder with the quahog was excellent. I had the turkey dinner with dressing, gravy, mashed potato, assorted vegetable, and cranberry sauce which was excellent as well. Will definitely return look forward to trying something new and different on the menu. Waitress was very nice despite having to deal with a couple difficult tables who were even annoying me.

The Galley Grille Restaurant is White's Restaurant in Westport. They renamed the galley Grille Restaurant because White's Restaurant is banquet business. All the food is made to order and they offered fresh seafood locally from New Bedford. We arrive at 6 and by 7 the place was full. They featured live music on a Friday night that was appropriate and fun. They have a full bar with local beers and hard liquor. The food was really good.

Went in a couple of days ago, had a blast with Mike behind the bar! I was welcomed by a very sweet hostess at the front door who showed me over to the bar. I ended up ordering the fish and chips and they were delicious! The fish was fresh. So glad I could enjoy the game and a good meal. Highly recommend

Have amazing fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly and the french fries had a perfect crisp. My grandson had chicken tenders and we’re out of this world. Both my daughter and I had French onion soup that was perfectly cooked. She had a Portuguese burger and was absolutely satisfied we all had dessert and the clam chatter was delicious too. Steak was cooked perfect, sweeter than I anticipated, expected more Whiskey flavor since it's called whiskey ribeye. It is loud so if you wanted quiet conversation, might want to rethink here. This place is loud, fun, and full of good food, friends, and laughter.

4/2025 - been a while since I have been to the Galley…. A+ open on Tuesday ✅ fireplace on ✅ even open early….I was hungry before the funeral…. Excellent Turkey sandwich on the $15 lunch special menu…stuffing, cranberry and gravy. Delicious. 2019 - Had lunch at the Galley 2-3 weeks ago. Have been carrying around their Tripadvisor/Yelp card to remind me to do a review. Snowy gray day and a late lunch ~2:30am. Our waitress was hostess, waitress and bartender all in one. Thank you. Food was delicious and plenty of it. We treated it as an early dinner. Clam chowder on a cold day was perfect. Same with the gas log in the back corner area - cozy. Will be back as we have an office at 275 Martine. Lepage's is the go to but not on Tuesday's and only because we can walk there.

The chowder and onion soup had no rivals. They were excellent. Chicken parmesan was very well done. Scrod and shrimp was very tasty.

Not a stuffy banquette restaurant, and the food is not leftover banquette fare. Bright, clean, casual, and comfortable. Seafood is always fresh, specials are a great value. My husband loves the prime rib special. Service is friendly and professional.

The chowder was awesome. I even got a to go other to take home to wife in Ny. I ordered the black & blue ribeye, meat was 100% a strip steak. I questioned it with the waitress, she assured me that it was a ribeye. It most certainly was not it was a 100% chunk of strip steak it was good however I prefer a ribeye.

The comments about an odor in here are accurate. It's not quite sewage, but more like a stale hospital smell. It's strange. Its also very distracting from the food, which is good! Solid clam chowder and the fish tacos were on point. Service good too. Fix that weird smell and you have a winner.

Great waitress, Flo. A group came in from a private party and was so loud we couldn't even hear our own conversation....loud, rowdy and obnoxious yet the host kept egging them on like they may have been her friends. Because we have been there many times, I gave them a 4 star, otherwise, they would have been a 2 or 3 tonight.

I had scrod and shrimp special for lunch it's the second time I've had it this time it was a tad saltier than usual. some chefs have a heavy hand I guess, otherwise it was delicious. The bar maid was fabulous The waitresses are really cool, food is pretty good, prices are reasonable. I can still highly recommend this establishment.

Recommended by Four Elements Spa. Great for normal people without food issues.one vegan and one gluten free person, but we made it work. Salads are HUGE and quite tasty. Our waitress was great. Food and bill took forever to come out to us. We were comped 1 meal since our waitress dropped hot water on my mother-in-law. Everyone was okay, she apologized, and it was okay. It happens! My star rating isn't based on her actually, more so that our food took ages to come out. They were busy, but I'm not sure they had enough kitchen staff. Overall good but wouldn't go back.

I've lived in New England my whole life. If a restaurant has chowder I ALWAYS order the chowder along with whatever else I order..... The chowder here was the best clam chowder I've ever had!!! No lie! The food was great. No complaints. Definitely a place worth going. The service was ok. The waitress wasn't too welcoming but she was professional and respectful which I do appreciate. The ambiance is ok. It's not a place where you can find a seat that feels snug and private. Everything is pretty open. So if you get anxiety because you feel like people are watching you you might just want to order and take your food to go. Overall, this is DEFINITELY a place worth going to! I will definitely eat there again!

Food was good and the service was excellent. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars was because I did not really see the value. It was kinda high priced for my taste. I don't want to be negative especially see as how good the food and service was and could just be my cheepness and not really going out to too many of these types of restaurants but just wanted to be honest. I came with a large group, 14 of us and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Only one person told me later he had a bit of an upset stomach after but no other complaints. I got the seafood casserole, which I thought was very good. Our waitress was Kimberly and she was very nice and efficient. I would recommend this place.

So far, three meals. Twice, the Turkey Club, and once, Shepherd's Pie. The turkey clubs were turkey clubs, and the Shepherd's Pie, despite nothing funky in it, and despite there being plenty, was rather bland in its beef gravy. We DO intend on returning, and trying more things. $9.95 for lunch isn't bad at all, so we'll be back, and we'll update accordingly.

Went with a party of 15 that had a reservation well in advance. Server didn't seem happy about being stuck with a large group, several people ordered fried seafood meals that always come with tartar sauce but the restaurant had run out. Never told when placing the order and might have ordered something different if made aware before ordering. Overall it was ok would give it another try with a smaller group.

The smell of the rug in the dining area away from the bar is to strong, you can smell as soon as you walk in. I did order food,it's just ok. The Live music was good.

Food was good but not hot. Place was clean but not enough napkins lol Service wasn't bad but I didn't feel a warm welcome at all throughout my whole visit Even though I'm disappointed in the negatives that I pointed out, I still was able to enjoy my dish. So I give it 3 stars out of 5.

It was cold in the restaurant. We sat not far from the fireplace but it was not lighted. My girlfriend and I ate with our coats own. The waitress made no comment about that. We looked around and others also had coats on. That is never a good thing. The waitress was not friendly and we had to ask numerous times for napkins and coffee. We ordered the special, prime rib. It was on the tough side, edible but disappointing as heck. We gave her a decent tip, however she didn't say thank you. As you can deduce, it wasn't our usual fun outings. I don't think we will return any time soon.

Went here by default because there was not a lot to choose from near our hotel. Had to wait about an hour on a Friday, so I had high hopes that was indicative of this being a popular place and that the food/dining experience would be memorable. Waiting wasn't too bad because we could enjoy listening to the live music from the hallway. Our waitress seemed to have an attitude from the moment we were seated. Not sure what that was about. The menu is limited but we were a table of 6 and hungry from traveling so not too picky. The food was decent/average but underwhelming (and overpriced for the quality). Mashed potatoes were very dry/crumbly and my chicken sandwich which was advertised with a garlic parmesan sauce that swayed my decision, came to the table with thousand island dressing without explanation (I'm not so crazy about 1000 island). Two dinners were supposed to come with cole slaw but it was MIA when delivered. We inquired and two small dishes were later plunked on the table for us to sort out without any apology. Service was adequate borderline unfriendly. Waitstaff repeatedly reached across seated, conversing diners to place things on (or remove them from) the table or expected diners to "pass this down". I know businesses are recovering from the pandemic, so I tried to be generous with 3 stars.

Great food and atmosphere with the entertainment! The only complaint that I have is that our waitress was not very good at all... When our food came to our table our drink glasses were almost empty and she didn't bother to ask us if we wanted more drinks... The last thing I want to do is sit there with a plate of food and not have anything to wash it down with... I waited about 15 minutes and then decided to go up to the bar and ask the bartender for another beer... When the waitress came around eventually to ask how the food was, she asked me if I wanted another beer... When she brought the third beer to the table my fiance and I were in conversation and the waitress put the glass down pretty hard on the table and it was a Blue Moon, not the same as the two Sam Adam's Cold Snaps that I had previously drank... We will definitely go back and give the place a second try as we really liked the food and atmosphere... Hopefully the experience there will be different next time...

Nice staff but unfortunately the food was just so so. We had a gluten free person and informed the server. She failed to mention the nachos had breaded chicken on it so my Dad couldn't partake. 2 in our party had the lobster rolls and said they were pretty good, the rest of us were just a little disappointed in our food.

Let me start off by saying the service and attention of the wait staff was great. The food on the other hand not so much. I ordered the new england sampler to start and it was just OK. The clam cakes were doughy and the clam chowder was a bit watery. The quahog was the best one flavor wise but not warmed enough to be enjoyable. My dinner was the naked lobster roll and baked scallops. The naked lobster roll was bland. Not much seasoning on it. The hot dog bun had more flavor. The baked scallops were ok, drenched in what I guess is butter but again bland. The best part of my meal were the waffle fries with the boom boom sauce. The sauce is good. Again let me stress, for what it's worth the service is great but the food needs some more flavor. A little more prep work would go a long way.

The food was good, but the experience was lacking..... and a little expensive. I was staying at the Hampton Inn just down the street so this seemed like a nice walk to get some seafood. The local guy I was working with bragged about how good it was when he dropped me at the hotel. There is nothing that pisses me off more than walking into a restaurant and getting ignored. The sign said please wait to be seated. So i did, and eventually the bar tender looked over and said ho ahead and sit where you want. So I did. The first thing that I noticed while being ignored was an unpleasant smell that reminded me of sewage. Not enough to leave, but enough to annoy me. I've been to many older buildings that have older plumbing, and have that smell, so i chalked it off to that. What i didn't know was that they had a separate dinning room, which I would have known about if the hostess was actually seating people. I thought that the slightly smelly bar was the restaurant. I eventually got a waitress who told me about the specials for Thursday which sounded good. Lobstah Rolls and sides. The only problem was i was there on a Wednesday. ..... My menu was missing a few pages, which was replaced when the waitress told me that the sides were listed in the back of the menu.....where? Lol I settled on the Baked Cod. Which was very tasty. It had a butter crumb toping on it, and was seasoned nicely. I appreciated that it was not served in a casserole dish swimming in butter. I ordered the vegetable and coleslaw. I received mashed potatoes instead of the slaw, which just seemed par for the course this evening. The waitress did give me the coleslaw when I informed her. I just never seemed to connect with my server. There was an awkwardness between us. I know, who gives5 a rat's rectum right? I was there to eat not find a wife, have one of those. It just added to the less than spectacular experience that I encountered. I would try it again. Your experience may vary.

The food was great, but there was a problem!! When you spend $90 for 2 people and you ask for bread and butter, and the waitress tells you that you will be charged $5 for a bread basket, when most places give it for free!! That prompted us to not go to the Galley Grill again!! I could not believe if we got bread we would have been charged!! We do not go to places or restaurants that nickel or dime us!!

Unfortunately I can't say this is a desirable place to eat. We were seated in a booth, the server(waitress) did come over fairly quick to take our drink order, considering she might have been the only one working. Quick with her answers, because she was the only one serving. Ordered was Fish & chips and the turkey club. The turkey club was really good! The fish and chips were also good. The fish was meaty and tasty. Coleslaw was a no! While sitting in the booth I noticed a smell, almost like urine. But as I looked around, I realized that this restaurant was old and very outdated, maybe even dirty. So, to sum it up, if smells don't bother you,great service is not your thing but decent food is all you want, this the place.

Maybe an off night, but they were out of the items I desired, little necks. The scallops meal was shy in size, tho the price was heavy. Overcooked and lacking in seasoning, I waited a long time to be served and refreshed. It's my first time here and I won't return, shame it's the closest restaurant to my hotel. I'm pretty sure a bite was taken out of one of my beets, and an expired snow pee arrived in my vegetable medly while seasoned nicely nonetheless.

Overrated. Limited menu. One waitress for the entire floor. Portuguese steak was cooked correctly with awesome gravy master gravy but it was overpriced. Skip the Cape Cod Reuben because the fish and flavor are lost in the sandwich instead of being the star.

The food was quite disappointing. We had seafood and it was less than expected. One dish was served cold. The atmosphere is nice if you are not a youngster, they had nice live music of my age.

Food was good. Waitress was not having a good night. A member of our party has severe food allergies and upon seeing an item she would react to requested that her food be remade. They simply removed the allergen and brought it back to the table - with the juices from the offending food still on the plate. There were other things, but we won't be back so it doesn't matter. 5 stars atmosphere, 5 star location, 5 star other staff, 4 star food quality. But the individual serving us was unkind to members of our party, leading to a 2 star overall experience.

Food was very bad. Over cooked. Service was slow, tea was horrible. So much artificial lemon and sweetener s. Tasted like cheap instant.. Clams were nice size and meaty but almost burnt. Prime rib was the worst we've had in years. Must have sat under a heat lamp for hours, The hotel recommendation made us think it would be good but must be getting kick backs.

Reading some of the reviews and I can't help think that some of these folks ate at a different place than we did! The restaurant is in a large building, but it is actually quite small (most of the space is a catering/event hall?). We entered the establishment with high hopes but were immediately assaulted with the stench of...sewage? Overflowing toilets? The women's restroom is right next to the front door and that is where the odor seemed to be emanating from? Let me tell you, it STANK to high heaven. We walked over from our nearby hotel and if we had a car, and another option, we would have turned around and walked right out. Ooof!! We hoped to be seated far from the offending source and were sort of blocked from the most overpowering of it, but still, it lingered throughout the room. We were served quickly (thank heavens!) and drinks and our onion rings soon followed. The rings were crispy, though greasier than I would have liked. We ordered 2 items off of the kids menu, and my husband got the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, while I got a Margherita Flatbread. Hubby enjoyed his meal and said the chicken was cooked really well. My flatbread pizza was not was I was expecting as it wasn't really flat. Thicker than a thin crust pizza, it looked like it was Naan bread, which had been soaked through with olive oil. The interior was gummy and oily, though the cheese and balsamic on top were ok. The thing that annoyed me, besides the sickening smell, was that the two kids meals we ordered were just pasta with butter, and they were $10 bucks each!!!! Are you kidding me?!? For probably 50cents worth of pasta and some butter? Ten bucks. I have never seen a kids menu that pricey before! To top it off, and provided another impetus to hurry on our way, was the live music. Holy smokes lol. Two old gents who look like they just got off of a day on a fishing boat, and sounded about the same. Two acoustic guitars with amplifiers, in this tiny space, made sure that EVERYONE would hear each...uhm...song? Every single song sounded like the one before. The only way we could tell what cover song they were playing was to listen to the lyrics and try to identify it, which, in hindsight, was probably a good thing since it gave us a game to play (basically name that tune but without the tune, just the words lol) and distracted us from the stench of the place. Maybe they are friends with the owner or something, but, god bless 'em, they were bad lol. All in all, I can NOT recommend this place and if I am ever in the area again, would rather go to McDonald's to eat (as would my kids!).

I was just there this noon for lunch. The waitress was excellent, very pleasant, service was great. The meal I ordered was the seafood duo, scrod and shrimp. The fish and shrimp were dry. I did eat the meal because I was hungry and did not want to waste the food. I have had that dish in the past and it was good. I feel it was left over from Saturday night menu. Will go with something else next time. Very disappointing. It was my birthday dinner. Staff great -food not so much. Will try again. ):

My sister and I shared the New England Sampler and I had the chicken parmigiana sandwich (which was disgusting.) Not even an hour after we left the restaurant did we begin to feel sick. Do not ever go here it will give you food poisoning.

No food after 7pm. No effort made to help us out. I get that it was Thanksgiving day and pretty much all the restaurants were closed. Drove by this place and saw the sign on the building saying "Come and join us for Thanksgiving" yay....they're open. Well not quite. We got there at 7pm and we were told nope, kitchen is closed. I asked if there was anything quick n easy they could make. I figured if they just shut down the kitchen the cooking oil should still be hot, maybe get a batch of fries ??? Not a chance. What erked me the most is when the bar guy/waiter or manager, (never introduced himself), said you shoulda got here at 5:30...what ??? It's written " Late night food" on Google. It was very obvious they didn't want to make an effort. Oh well, guess we'll cross this one off.

I would never come here my sister had just ordered from them the other day and not even two hours after eating their food she was constantly vomitting to the point she was admitted to the hospital still vomitting and hurting for HOURS !! I think they need to check their food better and just maybe this would have never happened do better ! Can’t also forget to mention she had called the store and still nobody has decided to reach out to her ..absolutely disgusting

Honestly not sure what they’re doing over there but just heard one of my friends ended up in the hospital just a few short hours of eating from here with food poisoning, mind you not the first or second time hearing someone getting food poisoning shortly after from dining here. I don’t know what they’re doing over there but clearly they are being careless with how they present their food, management has done NOTHING about these issues maybe a visit from the board of health will resolve these issues.

Inept hostess. She provides favorable service to regulars. We were told we had a 15 minute wait and that we could stand up front to wait. We asked her to clarify 2 times whether she was saying 15 or 50 minutes. Both times she said 15. A pair of regulars arrived and she directed them to wait on a couch where they can order drinks and apps. When we asked if we could also wait there, she said it was too busy. Finally she told us that the wait would be closer to an hour. We left without bothering to see if their dinner service was better.

This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had. I made reservations for 6:30 we showed up around 6:20. now it was very empty only 5 tables were being used now they took our order then three parties came in after us all three parties, we're served before, us .so I tried to just let it go so then 30 more minutes went by with still no food so my wife asked the head lady why did do many people get served before us she said because they ordered appetizer .now we looked over in they had meatloaf and mashed potatoes, .so I let that go .even though the head lady was very cold about the whole matter. First time in last time

I Stopped in for the advertised prime rib dinner. It was hardly warm and the kale soup was horrible. Makes me wonder how a restaurant like that lasted for so long?

This restaurant is so cute inside of White’s. Their marketing on Instagram made me want to try! When we walked in, we noticed it was an older crowd which was ok. We had a pleasant waitress but the food fell incredibly short. The waitress admitted that they sometimes used frozen onion rings “in a pinch”. We should have left after this comment but hadn’t gone out for dinner in months and wanted to still give it a try. We ordered sweet potato fries and a French onion soup for appetizers and it was just ok. My husbands Prime rib was $31 and it was a very small portion and nothing out of this world to make it $31. The mashed potatoes didn’t taste real, maybe mixed with instant? The stuffing also had the same sticky consistency that I had with my meal. At the end of it, we paid $90 with tip and were super disappointed with our meals. I wouldn’t recommend the food here.

Went for lunch with my son for fish and chips. It wasnt busy and no one came to the table to ask if we needed another drink which we did or if we needed anything. When our food came out i asked the server for another lemonade for both of us. The fish was good but the fries were cold and had been sitting for a while. We waited 15 minutes after we were done to ask the girl at the door to get someone for our check( she was nice). Never been there before and never will go again. I dont mind paying for something if everthing is good but for $80.00 for two fish and chips, cheese sticks, chowder, with poor service and cold fries i will go somewhere else. Whites have been in business a long time so I'm sure they are on there game most of the time but after today I won't go back.

We haven’t been here in a while we had our shower with whites , our wedding with Rachel’s , our rehearsal dinner with whites and have gone to galley grille many times over the years we went tonight for dinner before the bingo . Our waitress Jenny was so unbelievably rude !! She took one of the menus out of one of our hands when they were still trying to decide what they wanted , we felt like we were bothering her to do her job . Never asked how was everything , when two burgers were supposed to be medium but were WELL done ! When we asked if we could split the bill she said she couldn’t do it she had too many orders rudely again ! Then she must have had the manager do it that didn’t act like a manager at all especially when we told her how rude our waitress was . I get people have bad days but that isn’t the customers fault especially when we all had just walked in and we’re all looking forward to having a great time that we had looked forward to since March ! Probably won’t ever go back which is unfortunate.

My first time going there and most likely will be my last! Jenny was our extremely rude server . Being in the hospitality business myself for over 30 years, I found her attitude completely unacceptable. It seemed we were bothering her when we asked anything or even asking for an extra minute to look at the menu. I shouldn’t feel that I am bothering my server when I am out to eat. She didn’t check on us after our food came out, had she she would’ve known it wasn’t right! I did voice my concern to the manager who could’ve seemed to really care less, instead of offering an apology she just kind of was like that’s too bad. As I was looking forward to this dinner I was completely disappointed and will not be returning.

I am only giving a one star because if you order them from DoorDash, they do not allow you to remove anything from your meal. For example, if you want a sandwich and you’re allergic to tomato. Tough, you are not allowed to remove or edit anything. That is really tough for people with allergies. I’m gonna end up having a problem on your hands.

I should have listened to the bad reviews, but it was close to my hotel. I got a burger, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were great! The burger was horrendous. I got a bleu cheese burger and there was a pathetic amount of bleu cheese on it. Since there was no other sauce or condiments, it was incredibly dry and tasteless. The patty itself was also tasteless and not well made. There were onion rings on the burger which was...not well done at all. Pretty disgusting.

Absolutely gross they only make soup from Monday to Sunday 3 times a week should be fresh it was so chunky and salty I could of spiked my diabetes up then let’s add in my frozen mozzarella sticks plus completely melted lid that they said could of been in heat lamp why would you put plastic if that could happen and somone could consume plastic if it melts then lest add in everything was cold I don’t know what heat lamp you are talking about my food would of been ok I live 4 min away got there early then talked to owner I still have all the food willing for him to keep it just want my money back only bit into half of a mozzarella stick and ate 2 fries I ordered 3 things I wanted money back would bring everything nope he Expect me to eat there again and I’m really not cool with that and then will add on that the saltines were absolutely stale and so gross that you couldn’t even snap them they slowly broke DO BETTER AS A OWNER
