Amazing dinner! The service was prompt. The seafood was exceptionally fresh tasting. I was unsure about ordering the tuna tataki appetizer - in a secluded location like Winter Park, and it was a highlight of the meal. Perfect date night spot - maybe skip if you have several kiddos with.
Superb quality meals! Besides being known for their delicious paella, their steak melts in your mouth and seafood is fresh and flavorful. Staff are on point providing excellent service. This is a premier dining experience!
Excellent service and food. 20% gratuity is added to the check for parties of any size (at least it was for my party of 2, so I assume it's for all), and I added an extra tip because the service was worthy of it. Complementary digestif (Licor 43) was offered after the meal. We showed up without a reservation shortly after opening time midweek and were able to get seated immediately, but I expect reservations would generally be necessary. It's not a big place.
This place is a gem! We got a couple specials including seared scallops with veggies, mushroom soup for apps and they were perfectly done. The lamb chops were recommended to us and they’re some of the best (if not the best) I’ve ever had. They’re smothered in a Peruvian pepper sauce and our waiter (maybe owner) gave us a free jar of the sauce as a gift after we offered to pay him for some. He also gave us free dessert shots that were a perfect digestif. Just a fantastic experience all around!
Hands down the best meal and best service I have had in winter park or all of grand county. Ceviche was excellent, sea bass was perfectly cooked. Rice was delicious. Good wine. Not cheap, but the quality was there. Indoor dining area is a nice space. Small patio in the back.
What an unexpected culinary experience in the Winter Park area. Our server, Miguel, did a fantastic job with everything, including his recommendations of Lomito Cobanero and Robalo a las Truffas entrees, which were both incredible. The filet had an amazing blend of spicy and savory while the sea bass was cooked to perfection. Our daughter ordered the Paella de Mariscos which had a generous array of seafood and flavor. Dinner alone deserved this rating, but the highlight was the dessert. Enrique, whom I believe is the manager, helped along with Miguel in many ways, but his suggestion of their Panna Cotta paired with a sipping shot of Licor 43 was out of this world. We are still talking about our wonderful time there a day later. To the chefs, especially in a small resort town, hats off. Well done.
Best place to get food in Winterpark! Make sure to make a reservation, they have limited seating. It is tucked back behind a shopping center in a cute little house like building. The servers were amazing! They were attentive and helpful. The food was delicious! Everything was seasoned well, my steak was cooked to the right temp, and I would go back again in the next time I’m up in winter park.
Absolutely delicious food! As soon as I walked in I felt the love and hard work from the staff! You can tell this is a true family owned restaurant that takes pride in delicious food and service! I had the patatas bravas, mushroom soup, and house special of the night beef tenderloin! The meat melted in my mouth and you can taste the quality in their food! Well done!! I cannot wait to tell everyone to come enjoy this little gem!
We chose Paellas to introduce variety to our dining out experiences during my girlfriend's birthday weekend. We were pleasantly surprised to find this quaint, cozy, locals restaurant that breaks away from conventional mountain town fare. The staff were like long lost friends and the tapas were akin to Barcelona, Spain. We enjoyed a lovely crimini mushroom cream soup that was delightful and hearty, patatas bravas that rival some of the best in Spain, and a seasoned mushroom plate that we were talking about for days. Add the 2018 Rioja, well-appointed, unpretentious dining experience and you've found a gem. We will be back.
ETA: the churros were awesome, the souffle was perfect on the outside but a little runny on the inside. Some people like it like that. Overall dessert was great. We ended with a complimentary pour of Licor 43!!! Yummmm, what a treat. AMAZING!!! Don't even think about it, just GO! Everything is perfect!!! Best Spanish version of the French onion soup, seafood paella, steak tenderloin with saffron rice, kids steak and chips and house wine. Not to mention the staff is super accommodating of our wet snow suits and the snow we trailed in as we walked in through the blizzard. The table came with yum olive oil, crusty bread and mixed olives - for free 🙂. It is a little tricky to find if you're following Google Maps. Just park in the free covered parking lot and then walk towards the back of the complex. I'm writing this review as we are waiting for our chocolate souffle (15 min lead time) and churros!!!
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate my birthday and it was absolutely perfect. What a gem ! The food was incredible, the service was so stellar and friendly and fun. Chef Neil is the best and he loves what he does. I can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu . We had the mushroom tapas, the soup, the Chilean sea bass , the seafood paella and the special almond croissant desert was out of the world. I highly recommend the soup . And they even carry an alcohol free beer which I greatly appreciate
What an incredible experience! Thank you Neil and your wonderful team. It feels like your dining at secret Spanish hideaway in Winter Park. A family owned gem. Tasty food and delicious cocktails. EVERYTHING IS SO YUMMY. Hospitality was on point and the cozy patio in summertime was a great vibe!
This is definitely 5 stars. The food and service here are fantastic and the drinks are fantastic too! The ambiance is romantic and comfortable. I took my wife for our anniversary. I started with a Margarita and my wife had a Spanish drink called Caipirina. Both were great. They bring warm bread with olive oil and pepper and a bowl of olives in olive oil. I had the most amazing Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Paella de Mariscos. We both loved our dishes. The Sea Bass was buttery and cooked to perfection. We then had a Pina Colorado which was delicious and the fresh mint blended in the drink was delicious. The Chef came by to check on us and also offered a shot on the house of a Spanish liquor that tasted spicy and warm. We finished with Flan which was hearty and delicious. Our waiter was excellent and the entire staff was very helpful. We had a great experience! Highly recommend!
My husband and I loved this restaurant. They were fairly busy when we went but we were seated immediately and attended to. Our food came out within minutes, exceptionally fast. And the staff is so nice and really make you feel important. We were treated like VIPs. We love to try new places when traveling and we have never had better service anywhere. It was phenomenal. On to the food: also amazingly good and authentic Spanish cuisine. We had the ceviche which was so delicious and probably our favorite. We also got the scallops appetizer and it was very fresh and tasty. For our main course, my husband and I shared the Lomito Paella, which is angus tenderloins with rice and asparagus. It was cooked to perfection, exactly how we requested. We had the flan for desert but I forgot to get a picture because we ate it so fast. Hands down would recommend eating here when in or near Winter Park. You won’t regret it. For our 2 appetizers, 2 cocktails, and main course our bill was around $115, which is also very well priced for what you get. Update: we ate here 3 nights in a row. The food is so good and service so excellent that we didn’t want to eat anywhere else. We got the lamb chops twice and it is heaven on a plate. We also got the other steak meal (with potatoes and fried leeks) at the recommendation of our server and thought it was excellent.
Yes, it's a five out of five for sure! Both our appetizers and main courses are just delicious, so are the drinks. We tried seared scallops - made me drooling just by smelling it, sweet and tender; toasted bread with tomato sauce and balsamic vinegar - crispy and appetizing; seabass with truffle - perfect sear, fresh and juicy; seafood paelle - surprising amount of seafood, aromatic and fulfilling. Oh, and the sangria, such rich fruity flavor, loved it! A must try if you are in Winter Park.
This wins the best meal of the month award for being decadent and everything perfectly paired with our dishes. The chef is very humble and came out to meet us and tell us about Spanish cuisine. Presentation is top notch! Don’t expect a big paella skillet but do expect subtle dish cooked to perfection. Expect to pay in the $$ range but it’s well worth it!
Great service and the food was good too. The chips were hot and crispy. We order a plate of chicken and fish and both tasted great. Only issue was that they added a lot of mushrooms on the fish which was just too much. We ordered flan for dessert but that was little too cold. Overall definitely a good place to try out and I’d recommend this.
Corn Cream Soup 4 white, creamy, flavorful, no content Paella de Mariscos 2 hard saffron rice, carrots, peas, red bell pepper, shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, 1 scallop, 1 large pc of fish, seafood is mostly on top, weird flavor, not flavorful, small portion
The food, service, and atmosphere were all great! But the prices were very high even for a tourist area. We started with the scallops appetizer special which were delicious! But the price was not listed so even though the 4 tiny scallops were cooked perfectly and delicious... $28 was about double the price I was expecting! The ensalada Espanola was also incredibly delicious, and though it was small, it was worth the $16. Likewise, the paella de mariscos was absolutely wonderful but on the small side and pricey at $34. The coffee was great too but wasn't expecting $6 per cup plus another $6 for a refill! The flan for desert was probably the best flan I have ever had and worth the $12. The bill came with a 20% gratuity already added on. Then when the credit card receipt came, they had another blank tip line. So beware of that! Bottom line.... although everything was very very delicious, I won't come back again because the final bill of $173 + tip was about double what the meal was worth, especially considering that the portions were on the small side.
First time going was great food was yummy. Second time going it was kind of a flop. One person from our group ordered the paella and considering the restaurants name we expected a far more delicious dish, very disappointed. Considering the price it should be the best meal every single time. Consistency is super important part in deciding to go back to a restaurant. Will not be going back to Paellas unfortunately.
