Valentina was very kind and helped me pick out the menu. The food was amazing. The chicken is insanely juicy. One of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had
Must try the salteñas - unique and tasty, an obvious (3 day!) labor of love. My favorite item was the excellent Chicharron fried chicken sandwich - some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Will be back to try more, definitely want to get the Diablada sandwich next. Service was great too - co-owner Alex is just a nice guy.
A colorfully decorated order and pickup store with a few outdoor seats available. I got the beef and also the veggie saltenas. The filling tastes like a delicious slow cooked stew. The pastry holds its shape but is soft to chew and tasty. I paired it with the Chirimoya drink. Absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning soon!
Ok, it's not quite a restaurant, but it is serving up delicious saltenas, which is what we came for. I had the beef, and my friend had the chicken, and both were oozing with soupy goodness. The green sauce took it to a whole other level. I also got the chirimoya juice, which I loved (admittedly, I love anything with chirimoya). If I am ever in Sunnyside again, I would stop by again for sure. Just note, there are a couple of tables and chairs outside, but not much for seating.
The food here is excellent and there are delicious vegan options. Outside seating only but the friendly servers and decor make the experience awesome. Delicious juices as well. Awesome spot!!
THE BEST fried chicken ever. Seriously. And the sauces are amazing. Try the chicken strips with fries, you wont regret it. Also theyre super kind and I love that rubber chicken they use as a ring bell, adds to the charm
We live on the other end of the 7 line but this place always feels like an event for us. "What should we do today?" Revolved around eating here. I'm not an expert on Bolivian food but I know what I like and this place is a favorite. The saltenas and the sopa di mani are unlike anything I've ever had. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. There's only limited outdoor seating so you may have to wait or take to go if necessary. Berto was great and brought us out everything we needed once our food was promptly prepared. We are already talking about what we are getting the next time we visit.
BPL is the best, it’s our go-to spot! The food is so good, we tell everyone we know about this place. Also Valentina is the sweetest!!
One of those places that will always stand out when you think about it. This place is a gem and the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely try a few things out because there are unique options to choose from. Would highly recommend the saltenas because those were the star of the show. Can’t wait to come back!
This was our first time having Bolivian food especially Bolivian empanadas or also called Saltena. We ordered their Chicken Saltena and Beef Saltena. It reminded us of a soup dumpling but in an empanada. It was different from the usual empanadas we are familiar with. It had a soupy filling with beef. You taste the spice from the panka chile but it's not too spicy. They offer spicy Bolivian Llajua Salsa on the side if you want it spicier. Overall, Loved it!
I brought a date here. The salteñas are just as amazing as everybody says. I gotta go back for the other kinds! The drinks were my favorite; the cherimoya was unbelievably delicious and creamy. The outdoor seating seemed barebones at first but the music and happy diners was definitely the vibe!
such delicious and authentic bolivian food! plus great, warm service from berto. i had the chicha chicken bowl over salad and we shared some salteñas. chicken thighs were so juicy and flavorful and it was great to have a healthier option. salteñas were bursting with flavor - literally! i will definitely be back.
Ever since I had saltenas at their Columbus Circle branch I've been craving Bolivian Llama Party for the longest time. I'm so glad they opened a store in Sunnyside. Their saltenas are one of the best things I've ever eaten. They are always delicious and fresh and the green sauce goes so well with the flavors inside the saltena. I also tried the rellenos (cheese and beef) which I enjoyed as well. It comes with three sauces, but light green sauce is the best one in my opinion. Their other food items look amazing as well. Hope they last through COVID, because it would be a shame to lose such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, well prepared and EXTREMELY SUPER DELICIOUS!!! Freddy was so friendly and helpful in taking our order and making suggestions. He made us feel welcome and right at home. The salteñas are so scrumptious and filled with flavor. I love how juicy and stewy they are. French fries are perfectly crispy. The Bros’ter chicken strips are so tender juicy. The mac and cheese is super tasty. We loved everything! And the prices are very reasonable. We’ll be back again soon.
Best Bolivian food I’ve had in the US. Salteñas were perfectly cooked and tasted as close to the La Paz ones I’ve had. The chirimoya juice was fresh and made me reminisce Bolivia. Will be back next time I’m in Queens! Update: when I visited NYC 2 months ago and bought a dozen frozen salteñas to take back with me to Michigan, I didn’t eat them for 2 months until my mom from Bolivia came to visit. And after she had a few she confirmed with me that they’re the best salteñas she’s had outside of Bolivia, and she felt like she was at home! I love you guys that made my day!
Love this place! Saltena and mac and cheese are so yummy. Valentina is very friendly. Will definitely be back !
BLP is a take out/delivery spot with small outdoor space. When Jose found out it was our first time, he kindly walked us through the menu, giving lots of great suggestions. We got the veggie saltena, fried chicken chicharron sandwich and the jack fruit carnitas sandwich. Flavors were fantastic across the board and the fried chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve had. Excited to return!
essentially only take out but theres tables outside for you to eat, and you have to squeeze a chicken for someone to take your order :) this is the only place with salteñas around here and they’re amazing, the sopa de mani and cherimoya drink are great too. you can get a pack of frozen salteñas to go as well! would love to see some halal ones in the future
Everything is delicious here! Saltena, to start with, perfectly made and flavored, filled with meat, veggies and sauce. Amazing. Also love the peanut soup and relleno de queso. The people work there also super nice and patient, explaining everything to me and my friend. Absolutely love this place!
Amazing great food. Best I had in a long time. Also through Uber Eats they package the food perfectly where it doesn’t get soggy. MUST TRY 🔥
This was my first time going to a Bolivian restaurant. I had the Bamba Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with the Sopa De Mani Soup and the fresh Ginger Tamarind drink, and it was all great. The chicken was super tender yet crunchy on the outside, and the honey sauce had a nice light orange flavor to it. The only thing I didn't realize was that it was a pick up only restaurant. I assumed there was indoor/outdoor seating, so keep that in mind if you are planning to take a date here. Otherwise, the food was very good, and I will be back to try other items on the menu.
One of the only Bolivian restaurants still open in NYC, and a fantastic restaurant. They are pretty much outdoor seating only at the moment, but seem to be working to open up an indoor dining area (perhaps in winter 2025, or in 2026). We enjoy their bowls and chicken sandwiches. They have some fantastic specialty sandwiches and saltenas. I recommend trying them at least once since you won't find it offered anywhere nearby!
This place IS fun epitomized! The food is interesting and delicious. The shop is very nice and produces a feeling of happiness. The music is wonderful and uplifting. The team is amazing and incredibly friendly. I left with a giant smile on my face and a feeling of intense happiness. Just one of many reasons Queens is my favorite borough, because of gems like you. I wish you all the best and I hope y’all are around for many many years!
Their food was impressive!! My first time having Bolivian food was great because of them! I really like the bread of saltena. It was well baked, with a thin crispy/ crunchy layer and soft inside that soaked in the soup. It was juicy and the filling was delicious. I personally don’t like beans but it combined well in it. I will say overall they do the great job in deep-frying stuff! The rellenos (fried smashed potato balls) were wonderful, and I recommend the cheese one. Fries were good too. But I vip… goes to the ice cream!!! I love love love the 💜purple corn ice cream I got! The flavor was so good with all kinds of spices.
Great snack with window service. I only got their salteñas bc I needed to try it after hearing about them from IG. chicken and beef flavor. I preferred the beef more than chicken. They had veggie option too i didnt try. Beef was definitely more flavorful it has peas in it too. Chicken wasn’t bad but it was second place to the beef. The llajua (green sauce) had parsley in it.
The jackfruit chola sandwiches we had were fantastic…the description of “sticky, savory and sweet” is perfect! And the fries…so crispy and delicious, especially when dipped in the green sauce. Our server was Freddy and he was a delight. Highly recommend BLP!
Wife is bolivian and wanted to try this place for her birthday. We all loved the food. The saltenas are amazing. The woman behind the counter was accommodating. Def would come back here again as we think it's worth the drive. We only wish it was an actual dine in restaurant. We saw many peolle have to go orders so business is great for them and rightfully so.
I order delivery here far too often... Quality is outstanding. Would recommend to any Sunnysider or visitor looking for a delicious salteña or some bangin' chicken dishes. One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. All hail the llama!
Lovely small shop with funky vibe, awesome saltenas(soupy empanadas as they described) , large fried chicken sandwich, wrapped separately with fresh lettuce and pickles, with delectable sauces, and flavored fries, everything os so awesome, and though there is no in store seating but table and chairs set outside on the street with so friendly service It's a gem of the town!
I had the great luck to meet the owners (brothers David, Patrick, and Alex…such nice guys!) of BLP when I catered at the gala for God’s Love We Deliver and got assigned to help at their booth. I tried their delicious peanut and brisket soup and immediately got their card so I could come by the next day for lunch. I am so glad I did. The spicy chicken salteña is crazy good - comforting, packed with flavor, and just the right kick of spice. The jackfruit chola sandwich is smoky and tangy and messy and fantastic. And the chocolate ice cream with brownies and chili? Absolutely insane. It’s only counter service, but they have a lovely seating area set up on the sidewalk. Shout out to Jeff, who was a delight helping me choose my food. I can’t recommend this place too highly!
I was surprised by the fact that it's not a restaurant but just a window serving Bolivian food, nonetheless I ordered two salteñas and I wasn't disappointed. Absolutely delicious, you can't go wrong with chicken or beef salteña and the salsa verde that comes with them is spot on. Super friendly service as well. Will be coming back for more.
Delicious food and kind staff. Valentin helped me tonight with two pickup orders and was very kind and prompt with my orders. I highly recommend their saltenas and papitas
I almost cried when I bit into the vegan carnitas sandwich... the peanut butter soup is amazing as well. Can't wait to try the other incredible-sounding vegan and vegetarian options here!!! What a gem this place is. Cute outdoor seating (no indoor seating) and very pleasant staff. This place is best for takeout since there are not many tables outside and they're often full.
I regret l've slept on this place for years - when they first opened, the only thing I could have ordered was their fries (I'm vegetarian). And I meant to try them! But never got around to it. Finally checked put their menu again and couldn't believe all their vegetarian/ vegan options- the jackfruit BBQ bowl was fantastic and so filling! Service was super friendly and it's a great casual outdoor atmosphere. Just gave me happy vibes. Definitely going back to try all their veggie/vegan options. My non-vegetarian husband loved his silpancho. And you can't go wrong with the palpitas. So lucky this place is in my hood!
Ordered late at night on UberEats a brisket with quinoa and mixed greens. It was super tasty and very refreshing. The brisket soooo tender. Also ordered fries which were delicious and crunchy. My meal was set up by Valentina! She packed everything neatly and noted which sauces went with along with each order. Great spot, will def eat again!
Bolivian Llama Party serves up a fantastic, authentic taste of Bolivia right in NYC. The Cala Brisket Bowl was hearty and flavorful, with perfectly tender brisket and a great mix of textures. The Pork Chola Sandwich was a standout—juicy, rich, and packed with flavor, balanced by crisp veggies. The Salteñas were incredible as well, with their savory, slightly spicy filling and perfectly soft pastry. Every dish was crafted with care and attention to authentic Bolivian flavors. Highly recommended for anyone craving something unique and satisfying!
If you are in Sunnyside you need to try this place. Loved the service because we asked for suggestions and he recommended everything I loved. We went on a Tuesday around 6pm no wait. There were outdoor seating available and the food came out in 10 min. You have to try the beef Salteñas with a sweet crust and warm soupy inside. The brisket Mac and cheese was gooey cheese shells with tasty chunks of meat. Chicka Pollo Bowl was tender chicken thighs with quinoa. I am in love with the fresh cilantro green sauce. I would like to be back here again soon to order the same dishes and try new things .
Had heard so much about this place so had to check it out and yes it lives up to the hype! 🍽️ Jackfruit carnitas 🍽️ crispy papitas with cilantro sauce Food was so flavorful and really hits the spot. It’s also vegan/vegetarian friendly . Except for the saltenas consist of beef gelatin but I wish I could try it!
Originally located in Columbus Circile's underground market, the current location allows for a much more relaxed, livelier atmosphere. Items are ordered at the walk up window with a few benches on the sidewalm for seating. The soupy saltenas burst with flavor, the various bowls, salads are accompanied by crispy seasoned fried. Gonna leave some room for the colorful Llama treats😋.
Long-time customer of their salteñas. They're delicious, convenient, easy to store frozen and cook at home in air-fryer. Since first discovering them over 5 years ago, the quality of their salteñas has not decreased. Great local business worth supporting.
I went on a Saturday Dec 6. I’m from Jersey and made the long scary trip for my parents. We don’t have Bolivian food in Jersey so it was worth it. I came around 6-7pm and the girl who helped me went above and beyond. Loved everything I was able to get. Happy to see it be so popular! Many pick up orders there that I lost count. Incredible food & service.
The food here is absolutely delicious! I’ve been coming for months, and the portions are generous with unique, flavorful dishes. The only downside is the limited seating, just a few outdoor seats. It’s perfect when the weather’s nice, but in the winter, takeout is probably the way to go. Overall, such an amazing and tasty spot!
I first had Bolivian llama party before I knew Alex (one of the owners), and thought it was one of the best spots in all of Queens. I love to try new food and the fries, salteñas and bowls were utterly amazing. Since last year, Alex and I have been in contact as he is a business owner connected to the school community I teach in. I have a garden in my classroom that children help grow plants and then we sell those plants to Bolivian llama party in a community partnership. It is an amazing community partnership that is not possible without Alex . Amazing food, amazing people, amazing community. Highly recommend you check out this spot.
Food is very fresh and consistently tasty! Valentina greeted us at the door when we picked up our order and was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the saltenas and chicken bowl!
My Favorite chicken sandwhich hands down you can taste the freshness and clean oil its fried in...and the quality is so good 10/10 if you havent tried salteñas yes HURRY UP!!! Also try the truffle fries...actually get the whole menu its worth it.
If you haven’t been to Bolivia Llama Party yet, definitely check it out. The fried chicken sandwich was so good—crispy, flavorful, and just really satisfying without being over the top. I also really liked the beef salteña—it had a comforting, savory filling with a little sweetness that made it stand out. The matcha juice surprised me in the best way—it was light, refreshing, and had just the right balance. Ceilia was so sweet and welcoming—she let me try a sample of another juice just because I was curious, which I really appreciated. Little things like that make a difference. Will definitely be back!
Phenomenal conversation and the vibes were immaculate. The food is exploding with flavor and absolutely worth every cent. Very friendly people and definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood, I can't recommend this place enough.
The food is amazing! Beef saltenas and rellenos de queso are definitely our fav dish and appetizers. The owners are also incredibly generous and kind. We tried ordering through Grubhub for delivery and had issues with a driver stealing our order and then a GH customer service rep cancelled our reorder for no reason. One of the co-owners tried to help us contact GH to get another driver, but GH ultimately said they couldn’t send one. The other co-owner then called me the next day to discuss the issue. Although GH was entirely to blame for our issues, both owners were still very apologetic and patient with hangry customers. Whoever we spoke to on the phone before it was passed to the co-owners also deserves a shout out for being patient while we tried to urgently navigate through GH issues. Thank you BLP for having great food and for delivering great service even though we have never gone in person. Definitely will try to make the trip ourselves next time!
I order in from this place occasionally - so I don't know what the in-house service or atmosphere or like, only the food. The food is so delicious - and different! It is distinctly different from other South American cuisines which, in my experience, have overlap. Other than empanadas, the rest of the menu was new to me - super fun to explore! I will say I'm not a fan of their empanadas - but that's an issue of personal preference, my husband loves them. I have to say my favorite is their sope de mani with smoked meat added. I was afraid it would be too "peanut forward" but it isn't. It's wonderful on a cold day. I also LOVE their fries and their various dips and seasonings. Big thumbs up to this place!
Don’t judge a book by its cover. The outside doesn’t look like much but the food was delicious. I ordered online and it was ready within 10 minutes. This was my first time having Bolivian food and it won’t be my last. I ordered 3 different menu items and they all hit the spot. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite (but quality) then this is the place to go
The chicken and beef salteñas from Bolivian Llama Party are absolutely amazing! The filling is rich, flavorful, and bursting with that signature Bolivian spice and juiciness. You can really taste the quality ingredients and the care that goes into making them. Me and my friend really enjoy eating at this place definitely recommend!
Bolivian Llama Party 🇧🇴🦙❤️ So many things to say about this place… to start, service is always great, people at the counter, and the owners, that sometimes take care of you, are always kind, nice and extremely helpful! Then the food, OMG, best truffle fries you can try in NY, Salteñas are always a good to go (chicken is my favorite!!), all the bowls are delicious, their chicken sandwiches, veggie choices, everything is amazing there, I am not even vegetarian but I love their jackfruit sandwiches! One of the best places in Sunnyside for sure, I highly recommend trying BLP, they never disappoint! ☺️
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is life-changing. Everything I've had on the menu has been a banger. The service is friendly and quick. Now that they have outdoor seating again, they've cultivated an enjoyable atmosphere to dine in. The salteñas are truly mind-blowing. The dough is really tasty and also skillfully made to hold the soup filling. The fried chicken sandwich is one of the tastiest I've had in my life. I love their juices and ice creams as well. I only wish I knew about this restaurant in time to snag one of the t-shirts they were selling
Customer service here is absolutely awesome — full of passion, and you can tell they truly love their food. The food itself is amazing. It was my first time trying Bolivian cuisine and I instantly fell in love with it. The way they cook the chicken is just perfect: crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Damn good! Highly recommend this spot!
Very hole in the wall spot, there’s no indoor seating and you order from a window. They have a few tables and chairs set up outside so perfect on a nice cool day. I loved the Saltenas, it was exactly as advertised. Very much like a soup dumpling crossed with an empanada. The brisket Mac n cheese was good but I wasn’t blown away by it, I would come back for the Saltenas any day. I also had the Cherimoya drink and I loved it. I’ll definitely be back to try the other drinks as well.
The truffle fries (Papitas)was the show stopper! They were super crispy and flavorful. Strong truffle flaver! We had both beef and veggies Salteñas, they were so good, loved the boiled egg inside was a great surprise. I've been saving this spot on my map for ages, and I feel so satisfied now that I finally got to try it! Sadly, they didn't have much space to sit and dine, and we cycled there so we had the food by the road. However, it was still a great experience, and everything we ordered was so yummy! We will definitely come back for the fries!
Food was good! Chefs spin on authentic Bolivian food but it was all very tasty! Nice presentation on everything. Salteñas were fresh and Silpancho was the best I’ve had so far. Sandwich de Chola nowhere close to the real thing BUT it was a good sandwich overall. I’ve had better Picante de Pollo. Chirimoya and Maracuya drinks were just ok. Sitting is outside so bundle up. I will definitely come again next time I’m in town. Gotta have more Silpancho!
My first time trying Bolivian food - really good! The star was the silpancho which was so filling and really hit the spot. Also tried a chicken and beef saltena - nice combination of the slightly sweet pastry, savor ones of the stew and spice from the salsa. Definitely a fun spot to try when in the neighborhood - just make sure it’s not too cold out. Dining is outside only.
Great food, but the combo of asking em to assemble my own sandwich and not having tables to assemble them at make this an almost impossible meal to eat
I was really excited to try this place. I got two of the salteñas, one chicken one beef. I mowed down on the chicken first and it was so good, juicy, nice flavor, veggies loved it. Then I got into the beef and it was literally the same thing. I could barely tell the difference in the meat. So it was really good, but I wished I had only gotten one. Ask the dishes being brought it around new looked amazing. So I'm excited to go back and try something new!
I went there for salteñas specifically. We had those, and some of their drinks. I really enjoyed everything. My misses said it was good, but she wasn't crazy about it. I'd definitely go back. I would travel far and long, but if I'm in Sunnyside, I'd definitely visit them. Salteñas that I've had are always slightly sweet. They're good, but I'm not a fan of too much sweetness in my food that's supposed to be savory. These were a little sweeter than usual. I'd still buy them again and enjoy them, but I really wish they were less sweet.
My husband has had Llama party on our must try for awhile and happy we finally tried. We ordered 2 salteñas, one beef and one chicken. You order at the window. The girl was very nice but didn't make recommendations or ask if we had been there before. The food came out to us and was very hot. The verde sauce on the side was delicious. The salteñas were fresh and plentiful. The pastry was a bit sweet for my personal liking but the meat and soupyness was hearty. I would definetly come back to try other items. There is only outside seating.
Finally made it to Sunnyside to try the popular salteñas. Squeeze the chicken to get service, that was a fun exercise and unique. Order at the counter, there's no seating. I got the beef salteña and the sopa de mani. The salteña was worth the wait! Super savory and filling, the green sauce is the perfect accompaniment. It took me about 40mins to get home at which point it wasn't as soupy but still quite delicious. It was too cold to eat it fresh at the window of the store. I think these may be made fresh as there was ~15 min wait after ordering. The sopa de mani (peanut soup) was something brand new to me. It was quite savory and rich. It was like the peanut version of clam chowder. The crispy shoestring fries was great.
Went to the place on the way home from Queens Center. It was a little hole in the wall. There was only outdoor seating. The service was good. It was a wait for the food because they were busy and the food was fresh. We got a series of dishes that were good! They definitely were more of a modern style of Bolivian food. Everything had good flavors and they give you a lot of food!
Passed by BLP so many times and finally got a chance to try it! Freddy made some great recommendations - we got a beef saltena, questo rellenos and the chicha pork bowl. We love the questo rellenos the most, and their superfruit juices are very interesting combinations of fruits + they’re not too sweet (highest compliment from a hk-er iykyk)
I placed an order with Bolivian Llama Party through Uber Eats, and it was a mixed bag. The silpancho, a signature dish, was not great. The sunny side up egg was cooked over hard, which really took away from what should have been a nice, runny yolk. Additionally, the avocados arrived brown, which was pretty off-putting. To add insult to injury, I paid additional for them. However, the frozen beef salteñas were a standout! I followed the simple instructions on their website and air fried to perfection, with a crispy crust and delicious filling that made them a real treat! They saved the meal and are definitely something worth reordering in the future. While the silpancho could use substantial improvement, the salteñas were a delightful surprise, making it likely that they’ll be the only thing ordered again from Bolivian Llama Party.
I had chicha chicken sandwich. Yum! I loved the marinated chicken, but it would be even better if there is a hot sauce😋 Bread was okay. It can be better. Cilantro mayo didn't have much flavor. As a cilantro lover, I want more of Cilantro's aroma. Updates: I went there several times. They tend to serve a little slow. I also wish if their potion is smaller. Updates 2: Unfortunately everything is too salty for me. I don't think I'm going back.
Wow.. I just tried the Salteñas. Sorry but not good , taste sour, probably too much vinagre, chicken or beef are the same brought. The chicken stuffed is cut in small cubes ? What is that ! The original Salteñas are shredded chicken all ways. Any way I'm been just hones as bolivian . The dough is ok 👍
The salteñas were of middling quality. I happen to be from Bolivia and I must say that these salteñas did not live up to my expectations for not only the price that I paid for them ($81 for a dozen), but also the fact that the taste and texture were completely off. I felt as though the ingredients were inconsistent and muddy, especially the chicken, which I have never in my life seen cut into square cubes in a salteña. The chicken itself was largely absent from the flavor, giving me the impression that it was either partially thawed or barely present in the first place. The masa was lacking crunch. I hope this was a fluke, but as someone who misses salteñas and is often homesick, I was very disappointed. (P.S I think it was too much parsley, and I think there were carrots and peas in it too)
Great food im sure, but rn just annoyed waited 45 mins for chicken. After coming inside which was very nice of them due to the cold 4 people who ordered after me got their stuff and left but I was just waiting only to see my bag on the table, had to ask if I can take it no idea how long it was ready. Will edit it to positive when I eat the deliciousness and forget the negativity
