Excellent service, very tasty food, attentive waitresses with good presentation and the kitchen assistant very pretty with a nice smile, beautiful eyes, always very friendly greeting, always wanting to return 10 out of 10⭐️
The service, the ambiance, the coffee & the food are all excellent. The place is owned by Trejo, a local business that builds coffee roasters. They have a great buffet on the weekends and have small concerts too on some night. We will come back often.
Great place for breakfast; they have a buffet at an affordable price. The flavor and variety of the dishes are very good, except for the pork rinds in green sauce, which were a bit acidic. Everything else was very good. They only accept cash; it would be nice to add card payments and offer a few more typical local dishes.
The place is spacious, clean, and beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. They have space for live music and offer amenities like heaters. We brought a piece of bread that wasn't from the establishment, and they kindly let us eat it. We tried the hot chocolate, which tasted like a chocolate bar, and the temperature was perfect. The cappuccino with cajeta is delicious (you have to stir the bottom to make the cajeta flavor evident). I would definitely return to try several things on the menu.
The buffet is well worth it, the food was all tasty and warm, best of all is the included coffee which by the way you can purchase ground to go and have a great brew at home. Will be coming back just for the coffee :)
Very good coffee with nice decor and a variety of interesting dishes and coffees. All at a very good price and delicious. They also sell whole bean coffee and various accessories and souvenirs, such as small coffee grinders and French presses. They also have an area where they apparently host events with live bands, but we didn't get to see them. It's very well located, very close to the clock.
Cafe Del Zaguan
The place is small and very family-friendly; the service is very fast and helpful. I think they have live music on some days, however, when I went, which was a Saturday, no one was singing. I would only recommend that the cafe increase the number of restrooms, as currently there is only one for women and one for men.
The time service is bad
I made a reservation upstairs near the balcony to enjoy the Apple Fair parade. I had a group of tourists with me who wanted to enjoy that experience. I reconfirmed my reservation two days before and they told me yes, they already had it. When I arrived, it turned out they had canceled my reservation because I didn't confirm. I showed them the call log, they all threw me a curve ball and couldn't give me an answer. Fortunately, there was a table that had just finished breakfast and they offered us that table downstairs. On the call, they had told me again that the buffet cost was $145. When I paid, it turned out to be more and they didn't want to honor the cost or the requested spot. I paid, but another issue arose because they wanted to double charge me because they ran out of paper at the terminal. I showed them that the charge had already appeared and they had to take a photo of my phone. A very unpleasant experience, and the staff were unable to resolve my requests at any time.
We went in the late afternoon. There were only three tables occupied. They gave us a table, laid out tablecloths, and gave us the menu. It took more than 20 minutes for someone to come over to ask if we were going to order (she claims to be the owner). She explained and suggested things on the menu. It still took another 10 minutes for someone to take our order, and it was only because we spoke to her again; otherwise, no one would have come over. We ordered a pitcher of orange water that tasted completely artificial. I also ordered some enfrijoladas, which were awful. The tortilla was hard, not because it was fried, but because it was cold and tasted like something out of the refrigerator. However, if you're an acquaintance of the owner or a large group, it won't take long to serve you. A very bad experience.
The place is near the park, and if you want to waste time waiting to be served and leave with a bad experience... I recommend it 👌. We went because of the good reviews, but they didn't have most of the menu items they advertise. It would have been better if they'd told us what they had available. The service was incredibly slow, and even just bringing the bill took more than 20 minutes!! Personally, I think the place is very overrated; it's not worth it 😴👎. And what I've noticed is that they don't even apologize for the bad reviews; they only pay attention to the good ones.
It has a "Buffet" sign, but it's NOT a buffet AT ALL. The service is terrible; I've never experienced anything like it. The "natural" juice is completely watered down with store-bought juice. You can't serve yourself, so you have to wait your turn. The food is limited to only about eight dishes, and if you run out, you have to wait until they do the same thing again to get more, and then they serve you very little. The food looked like it was from the day before. There's no fruit, no water, nothing! Everything is limited to what they decide to serve you, not what you want. It's not a "buffet" at all. A terrible experience; I'm staying!
I can't find a reason to go back! Why? Simple. I traveled for over three hours, supposedly because of tradition and all that. I ended up sitting on an uncomfortable bench, waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes for a soda that they initially said they didn't have, but then suddenly did. My family, like me, were just hoping to enjoy something traditional from Zacatlán and have a nice experience. I noticed we weren't the only ones there, and I can understand that they were overwhelmed! But couldn't the drink I opened and poured myself have arrived any faster? I shared the view with three other tables in the same situation. My 12-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter were at the end of their rope, and the other tables had children under 8 or 5 years old... waiting for their food for that long? I still can't find a reason to return. My experience wasn't the only unpleasant one that night at that same place... it's clear that if you're not hungry, you're going to waste your time sitting uncomfortably. It's strange to say that it's the only place to be "like that." However, there are places that have improved upon that bad experience, and we will recommend and promote them accordingly.
The Airbnb host recommended it, which is why we went. I absolutely do not recommend it. They come, leave tablecloths and a menu, and then disappear. You have to go looking for the waiters yourself, otherwise you'll be left waiting to be served. We ordered coffee and cheese bread, which is a typical dish here, so they should have plenty. They didn't. After waiting to order, we had to wait another 20 minutes for one of the two coffees we ordered, and then another 30 minutes for the other. I had to ask, and they didn't have the one I ordered; they just made me whatever they had on hand. NOT RECOMMENDED. You'll only go there to get angry, and it's nothing special.
