For Valentine’s Day me and my fiancé struggled to find a reservation but finally got one here at the downtown location and it was more than amazing! We parked at the paramount garage, walked over & seating took less than 10 minutes. Jess (Jessica) was our waitress and never dropped a smile, we never had an empty drink & stopped at nothing to make sure our food was perfect :) We got sat next to the window and loved to see the city lights while we enjoyed the night. I ordered the New York and he ordered the 12oz filet and not only were they cooked perfectly but the filet melted in our mouth. A lot of people were complaining about the “char” but we didn’t understand the fuss it was flavorful and what we expected a crust to be on a properly cooked steak! The old fashioned was smooth and rich and the apple spice martini I had was perfectly balanced not too sweet not too strong. We ended the night with the sorbet and crème brûlée it was the best sorbet I’ve ever had and the crust on the crème brûlée was perfect. Jess made the night even better by giving us excellent service and we will 100% be back next date night. The bill ended up being less than $400 with both entrees, both deserts and 7 total cocktails 100% with it!
Everything was delicious! The only thing I would say was a little disappointing, was the size of the scallops for the bacon wrapped scallops.
Great food. My Ribeye was cooked to perfection, Wifes Waygu filet mignon was fantastic. Mashed potatoes we're good. She got the baked potato. I tried the peppercorn sauce & it was delightful. Kids cheese burgers were good size. She had a red wine. My Long Island was okay. But the margarita i ordered was amazingly delicious. Lol.
Great place! Highly recommend. The atmosphere, the food, and the service was top notch. Check um out!
Great food and first-class service. The prices are premium, so expect an expensive night out. The filet mignon, bacon-wrapped New Bedford scallops, ahi tuna, brussel sprouts, and the calamari are all great. This is a nice place for a special occasion.
I already decided to eat here after checking into the hotel after a flight, as I didn't want to go far for food. I started reading these reviews after ordering, and although there's mixed experiences it seems I got lucky. I approached the hostess station just behind another guy looking for a meal, and we were both immediately told they were full and we could get food at the bar. This must be the crabby lady everyone has complained about - not the attitude you'd expect from a place of this caliber. Fortunately, Mariana provided outstanding service and she is why my experience met the bar they set with pricing. I've eaten a lot of wedge salads, and this one was delicious - especially due to their selection of bleu cheese. Crispy artichoke hearts were very good. I rarely eat dessert, but the pineapple lime sorbet caught my attention and I'm glad it did. It was a delightful combination of both flavors in every bite - the pineapple complemented the lime nicely and it was not tart.
Incredible restaurant. While the sign for the restaurant is on the corner of Stewart and 8th (as is the Google Maps pin) the entrance is through the Hyatt hotel on Howell and 8th. Food was incredible and the staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated their willingness to provide smaller portions for dessert and salad and the reduction in price along with that. Keep in mind the 20% service fee is added after the bill, not included in the price of the meal as the menus suggest
Dessert was 10/10. My boyfriend and I shared the local Olympic ice cream and the incredibleeeeee chocolate espresso martini. Both were delicious! Staff were super friendly and helpful.
I can't say enough about Daniel's Broiler located at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Seattle. My valentines and I came in for dinner and were greeted with a smile and prompt seating even though our reservations weren't for another half hour. Once seated the staff got right to work clearing the table and setting things up for 2. The manager who I wish I had gotten her name was fantastic, she stepped in and covered for her server who was finishing up with another table, and continued to back up the already awesome service. The staff operating the night of 2/12/2023 from the front of the house to the heart of the house was truly amazing. Thank you for the evening and for helping us remember our evening with photos.
Daniel’s Broiler is a Seattle staple and great place for any special occasion. We like the Downtown location. The dining room is intimate, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wines. There is parking in the Hyatt and coat check at the front. We went on a Sunday and did not need a reservation. I would recommend the Prime Rub for a fatty cut and the wagyu for a leaner cut. The prime rib was massive and cooking to perfection. All of the steaks are prepared with salt and butter and then served with mashed potatoes. My family really likes rose so we did a bottle to go with the meal.
Everything out here is delicious. There isn’t anything which we tried deserves anything less than 4. If you ask me this place serves the best steak , great ambiance, magnificent service and best wines .. You will totally love the experience , there by creating a memorable experience..
Food was excellent, a bit on the pricey side but it's a boujiee experience. We were in what looked like a private room, it had a nice view. Pics attached aren't all that cause it was pretty dark.
Great steak, we shared one steak, so the picture is of half. It was more than enough for one person. The Brussel sprouts are nice and crispy with a little heat.
Waterfront, top level King Crab special $15. and fine friendly service. Perfect birthday kick off on Lake Washington with friend Christy to remember!
Thank you to Jeff for giving me the best experience. He walked me around your beautiful restaurant and went over your extensive wine and spirits menu. I had the pork chop and the second it hit the table I was asked to cut into it to make sure it was just the way I wanted. I have been to many steak houses and no one has ever asked for that to be done and I love it. I had the best time and can’t wait to come back!
Our Server Jeanette Z was not only professional but gave absolutely amazing food recommendations. She was extremely sweet & upbeat. Loved our experience.
What pandemic? Daniel's Broiler hit it out of the park! The food, drinks and SERVICE were spot on. We couldn't ask for more. Just incredible.
Our salad and entrees were delicious. My grilled lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and my wife's chicken dish was great also. Our server, Mariam, was friendly, attentive, and answered all our questions. Our only surprise was the restaurant didn't appear to enforce the suggested business casual dress code for all the patrons, but who dresses up for dining these days anyhow? The only other surprise was that, while present, the restaurant manager did not stop by our table to inquire about the service we received.
Visited on my work trip from Arizona. My server Ashley was awesome, got me to the Billy Idol concert on time. Food was great too. Plus she was just a really cool person. 🥳
We went for the Thanksgiving Day Lunch Buffet. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous!! The General Manager was at the door greeting everyone walking in and checking in, and then continued to walk around and check on guests at every table. Our server was so nice and always had our glasses full! Keep up the good work Daniel's Broiler!
Popped in for a small bite after running errands and couldn’t be more pleased. The sauce on the teriyaki filet mignon is AMAZING. The Brussels had a nice balance of sweet and spicy. Michael was a wonderful server, checking in often, easy to converse with and very attentive. I definitely will come back for the NY strip!
We had a fantastic meal this evening, Feb 20, 2026. The NY Strip was melt in your mouth tender and my wife's scallops were perfect. The crunchy Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection, and the shrimp in BBQ sauce was perfect too. Our waiter, Mike, went above and beyond to take care of our three person party. An evening to be remembered.
Had a great evening after the Seahawks vs Colts game. Hawks beat old man Rivers We were here for the Delmonico steak. So good. It might be my favorite steak. Service was exceptional and made for nice company with stories of NY and steakhouses around the world.
We had the most delightful and delicious dinner last night. Our server, Ashley, was so attentive and sweet. The food was delicious and the entire evening was so spot on. This was a last minute decision to eat at Daniel’s and, as always, it did not disappoint. Well done!!
Daniel's Broiler is a steak restaurant with multiple locations in the greater Seattle area. This location is downtown above the hotel, however it can be confusing the get to since the bottom floor is closed below it and there's no signs - you have to walk through the hotel lobby to get to the elevator. Parking around here is always awful. Inside, they probably have 2 dozen tables and a few bar seats. The menu isn't that big, but they specialize in steak and the sides, with a few other options like seafood as well. The portions are on the smaller side and the food tastes good but the prices are just too high. The staff here are great, very friendly and constantly walking around to help when needed. This is a popular post-work drink spot with a happy hour for lots of executives and people staying at the hotel. Overall it's a good spot if you're willing to spend a good amount of money.
The place is elegant and I almost felt underdressed. The server was impeccable and so were the table service. Everyone was super friendly and what an amazing view of the city especially in the evening. The entire crowd has a positive vibe. We were there for Valentine's weekend so my wife and I felt that this was a great place to have dinner. The potatoes were cold the steak was undercooked which was sent back and it was the same steak just heated but now a hair in the cold potato. Again I think that it's not anybody out on the floor it was just a kitchen problem but for spending nearly $600 we should have had a better experience in the food department. We did mention it to our server and she took off and appetizer but we were ready to go at that point anyway. Don't think this is normal at this location as it has many positive reviews and everybody we talk to about it was excited about it for us. Oh well win some loose some.
Food was good. Just not sure it was worth the $$$ spent. I’ve had better for half the cost. Do it once for the experience, to be honest, there wasn’t much of an experience.
Located on the second floor of the Hyatt, we very much enjoyed Daniels. Our server was very nice and checked in often. We started with the recommended bacon scallops which were very good. Before even finishing that appetizer, our dinner was served which felt a little fast. Wound up finishing the appetizer last. The food was very good. The lamb chops were great, the mashed potatoes were amazing, and the steak was also cooked to perfection. Cheesecake to finish it up with iced cream was also good. There is a 20% service charge (not a gratuity) built into the bill - which is what made this a 4 star review. This owners tax - was more than the price of a meal
As part of my job I come almost every year to Seattle. It became a habit to visit Daniels during every visit to eat a “real” steak. So, this year was no different. I took the "Filet Mignon" with "Garlic Mashed Potatoes" and "Garlic Creamed Spinach", alongside a Draft Beer from Stella. The quality of the food was really very good. The steak was prepared the way it should be. Furthermore the staff is very kind and helpful. The service is very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, with comfortable chairs. I only can make one point of criticism: the Price. Over the years the prices increased dramatically. Although I really enjoyed the food, I am wondering if it was worth the money. But it was a wonderful evening. René
Love Daniels Broiler. My go to steakhouse in Seattle. We actually had Easter brunch at the Bellevue location, and mother's day brunch at the new Seattle location. My review is purely on the brunch. Quality of food was good, service was very good, and decor is modern. Why 4 stars? I thought the food was good not amazing. For a $60 brunch, i expect more Salty's quality. Dinners here are 5 stars!
The main restaurant was closed but they were serving a limited menu in the bar of the hotel. I have to say the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Atmosphere was okay.
Steak was delicious but I would go without the lobster next time. Overall a very tasty meal and quality service.
I liked the food however the rest was pretty basic with slightly overpriced price tags. Very regular service and atmosphere. Dinner for 2 with appetizers and few drinks will cost you about 500$ ( similar what you’d spend in Gordon Ramsey Hell’s Kitchen or steak)
The steak and the burger were great quality and cooked perfectly. The server was a bit clueless, nothing like service you’d get at Dukes. She didn’t really listen to my special request and got it wrong. Not a seasoned professional. I ordered lemonade and after tasting it I asked if the bartender made it because it tasted watered down (I didn’t tell her that) she told me it was “Minute Made”??? At a 5 star restaurant where more people are not drinking alcohol these days? The straws were still plastic. This is a restaurant in Seattle, hello? So sometimes it’s the little things that show you who they really are. They need to get with the times. Kind of turned me off to the entire experience. If I’m going to pay 49.00 for a burger I want everything g yo be perfect.
The atmosphere and service were impeccable. I ordered lamb, which was amazing and prepared to perfection. My husband had wyagu filet mignon, and sadly, he said it was tough and was gravely disappointed. His dessert is Was buttercake, which he absolutely loved. So, cost vs. quality... I will leave that for you to decide.
Toni & Jeff took exceptional care of us! It’s pricey, but it's Daniels, what do you expect? The Spicy BBQ Prawns were good BUT LETS BE HONEST, the shrimp were very small for the price & PLEASE compliment the dish with warmed Sourdough, not the cheap French bread, no butter, no char, no nothing! You can do better than this, for $22 bucks you BYA you can do better. The calamari was also tasty, the lemon aioli was the perfect accompaniment! Again Toni & Jeff were the ultimate stars of our evening. We have found the Daniels in South Lake Union (food wise) is head & shoulders above this location. Maybe it’s a feeling that they can get away with going only 80% due to the fact they are located in a hotel! This shortcoming does reflect poorly on the brand though. Unfortunate.
The good: staff was very friendly, atmosphere was nice, and drinks were very good. The rest: we ordered calamari, white wine, and an old fashion to start. Calamari was good, but not out of the world. For our entrees I ordered the Jidori chicken and my husband ordered the prime rib - medium rare. The flavor of my chicken and the garlic mashed potatoes was excellent, but the chicken was really dry. I was expecting a much more juicy cut. My husband’s prime rib was cooked all the way through -medium well definitely not medium rare. They offered to redo it, but we had show tickets in an hour and didn’t want to wait. They comped us dessert to make up for it. My husband ordered the cookie and I had the chocolate cake. Both were good. We asked for our leftovers to be wrapped up and then waited over 10 minutes for them to bring the box. It never came. For the price I was expecting a much better experience. They need to learn how to use a sous vide for their chicken and pay attention to cooking the steaks. If I had paid for the desserts I would have been angry that they didn’t give us the leftovers, but I just left really disappointed. We go to shows at the paramount all the time. This place is off our list of places to eat.
Expensive steak but not worth the price. The spice on the outside of the steak is overcooked and tated bitter. I ordered midium, but looks more close to midium well. It is little too dark to see it. It is suppose to be a 16oz steak shown in menu, but looks more like 12-13oz.
Nice place with great view. Service is solid. Food is decent and the weakest part of the experience ESPECIALLY for the price. Worth a visit once but won't return. Espresso Martini was nothing special.
Unfortunately, our experience at Daniel’s Broiler in downtown Seattle was very disappointing. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, we had to wait outside for about 15 minutes before being seated. Once inside, it took around 20 minutes for someone to take our order, and our food didn’t arrive until nearly an hour later. The service felt pushy — the waiter kept encouraging us to order more appetizers, drinks, and desserts, which came across as a bit too forceful. A 20% tip was automatically added to the bill, which I found frustrating, as I prefer to decide the tip based on the level of service myself. After we asked to pay, the server disappeared again, leaving us waiting even longer. The food didn’t live up to expectations. It was served cold, the portions were quite small for the price, and overall, the value just wasn’t there. The salad, for example, was tiny — especially for such a premium-priced restaurant. This experience didn’t reflect the level of quality or hospitality I would expect from a place with Daniel’s reputation. I really hope this was just an off night, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend
We ordered delivery, and I'm sorry to say that these are the $16 salads that they sent to us. I understand that it's common to give people who order delivery slightly less desirable cuts of beef, lettuce, etc. But they appear to have given us nothing but scraps? We honestly cannot believe that a high-rated restaurant would be comfortable serving this. But here is the photo:
Great food, upscale restaurant. They unfortunately made the service charge mandatory at 20% and it goes straight to the company. They claim to split 50/50 with the employees which seems appaling, as they are appropriating money that should not belong to them. Charging $80 for a small piece of filet mignon does not seem enough… This practice seems very reprehensible, they are at war with their employees and customers are caught in the middle, which was the negative part of our experience.
I'm so sorry to say this because the staff were so nice. But the steak and the popcorn shrimp weren't all that good. The steak wasn't tempered properly resulting in an undercooked center with a weird texture. The popcorn shrimp was presented in a "to-go" like container and with fancy sauce but lacked the texture and flavor profile of fast food popcorn shrimp. The mashed potatoes and desert were good though.
Super disappointing. My filet was served overdone and had to be returned; the replacement arrived undercooked and was redone, and “round three” came with tepid mashed potatoes. We asked to see a dessert menu and that never arrived — so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. Mandatory “20% service charge” tacked onto your bill.
I have been to Daniel's Broiler before and I really enjoyed their food. However, that was at the South Lake Union location. Unfortunately, I was super disappointed at the downtown location. My husband and I ordered a chowder, Daniel's cut fillet mignon and grilled swordfish. While the chowder was served very quickly, we had to wait quite long for the rest. Our waitress came twice to tell us that "it will be ready soon" and explained that this long wait was caused by my fillet mignon that I ordered well done. Quite frankly, I have never heard anything like that in any restaurant and I always order well done steaks. Finally, after about 45 minutes, my steak was served. It really was well done. It was VERY WELL done. Or I should probably say - it was overdone. It had a thick layer of black crust atop that looked very much like charcoal. It was not edible and in order to eat the rest of it, I had to cut that off. I am not a complainer or a picky customer, but that exceed my imagination. According to Daniel's Broiler's steak cooking guidelines, steaks are defined in the following way: "rare: red throughout, cool center | medium rare: red center, warm | medium: pink center | medium well: slightly pink center | well done: broiled throughout, no pink". I do not see anything in these guidelines about charcoal curst atop of well done steaks. If I knew about that different approach to grilling steaks, I would have considered a different meal or maybe different order of my steak. Unfortunately, we were in hurry as we were going for a concert that evening at Benaroya Hall and I did not have time to do what I should have done - return it to the kitchen. When we were done eating, a manger asked us how was everything. Apparently, he did not believe me as did not offer any remedy for that except for "contacting him on our next visit". Well, I am not sure if that would happen any time soon as paying about $100 for mashed potatoes served with a small chunk of meat is not what I consider the best way of dining out. PS. My chowder was very tasty. And my husband was satisfied with the swordfish. Additional information: As soon as I received a response from the owner, I did what I was asked for - contacted by Facebook. I have never received any call/email/message from them. Apparently, this response was submitted to show in reviews that they handled that, while in reality they did not do anything. ;)
Sad to report, a place that I once considered one of my "Go to" places has had a significant change after reopening... And not for the better. Twice now, I have arrived looking to enjoy a great dinner, some drinks, and a view at a small table I have eaten at 50+ times in the past. But now, only to be greeted by a condescending hostess, and directed to the Bar. My eyesight is 20/20, and clearly, there were multiple tables that fit my request available. Once ? Sure. Someone having a bad day. Twice ? Management Policy. I am Very happy to report multiple Steak houses that still serve a quality meal, with impeccable service to those of us who actually Work for a living, all within an easy walk from this sad place. The Metropolitan Grill. Ruth Chris Steak House. (100 feet away.) And my tonight's choice, The Capital Grill.... That was significantly busier, and could still take great care of me. Your Time and Money are precious. Spend both wisely.....
Dishonest location. We were asked to check the steak when it was served it was far from the correct doneness (we asked for medium rare and it was clearly close to well done) and they offered to change it on the spot. They took the opportunity to charge us for two orders! When we reached out the next day to clarify, they offered a refund but it's been almost a month and many email chasers but no refund made. Very disappointing of a fine establishment, avoid at all cost! Dishonest servers and management..
The steak bites were so incredibly mediocre and overcooked and the portion was tiny. The garlic mashed potatoes were inedible.
The waitress and the manager were rude and patronizing to my cousin. No N/A options. The atmosphere sucks and I definitely won’t be returning. If you’re visiting Seattle and want a steak go the the Metropolitan Grill
Called to ask about a reservation and the host literally laughed while telling us there was no availability. When we asked about bar or lounge seating, she acted surprised we’d even ask. She followed it with “I don’t mean to laugh,” which came across as if our question wasn’t reasonable. The whole interaction felt dismissive and very off for someone working in hospitality. It was enough for us to decide to spend our night elsewhere.
