Just to give you a FYI. We ordered close to 8 dishes and 5 of us had 2 beers each. It was close to 150. This place is the bomb. The anticuchos(which I dislike anywhere else) are the bomb. Go. You won't regret it. Plus they had sports playing on their TVs.
My husband and I are out of town from the east coast and I was looking for some good Peruvian food and this place was delicious! The ceviche was phenomenal and our meals were amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some great Peruvian food!
Moved to SF from New York and was in search of good Peruvian food. I’m so glad I found this place! They are consistently yummy and I bring my friends here if they’re looking for authentic Peruvian food in SF.
I’ve been a regular at El Porteño on Geneva for quiet sometime. I heard that they were expanding and was excited to try out their new location. I came here for my friend’s birthday, the service was great. They servers were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, like always. I recommend the lomo saltado and ceviche mixto. I will definitely be back, especially for their dance nights on Saturdays.
Food is great, i feel like the place needs more ventilation if you are to eat in. But the food is so great that i didnt take a star off it just because i was delighted.
This place was great! The waitress was super nice, attentive, and on point. The food was very flavorful and the pisco sours were perfect. Highly recommend!
This is the best Peruvian food near me. I love everything there. Kind people always
Great food, had a lomo saltado with chaufa, amazing
Fun place, good food, waiter was awesome and had tooken care of my big family and had everyone's order on point!
We ordered by postmates and it was amazing. Tasted fresh and delicious.
Nice portions and delicious food. Plus great service
The food here is good and my uncle went 4 weeks ago
They always have la causa más deliciosa, the other one is always out.
Seel food liquor beer restaurant and bar plus a dj on weekends some people dressed up
I'm peruvian, and the food was legit. So good.
Really good service and amazing food!
This is the one!!!
Food is absolutely delicious.
The food is great! My wife was born and raised in Peru so is a tough critic on Peruvian food. She loved it so much. We went a second time the following day. We had the ceviche and loma saltado. Both work excellent. The maricua, lucuma and picaronea were authentic and delicious. I tried both the pisco sour and maricua sour. As everything else, top notch.
Wonderful atmosphere and experience. The staff is super kind and professional. One of the best peruvian food restaurants you can find in the United States. The Ceviche is Michelin grade AAA, the anticuchos incredible. Totally recommended. Be ready for karaoke and some music/dancing from an in house DJ. Great for family and friends.
This is my first time to this location. We typically go to the one in the Excelsior. Everyone should know this location is amazing. Right in the middle of the mission. Service is great very quick and friendly. TV screens all over the place. It’s very clean and modern inside vaulted ceilings. Many of the items that we ordered were just as good if not better than the other location I ordered the seafood paella… That was amazing deep flavor and super tasty. We got the seafood tomato soup. That was good… I think I’ll go home and add extra lime seasoning to it. We also got Lomo saltado. And micheladas were great!!!
Amazing Peruvian food and friendly service, but it's expensive.
Really tasty Peruvian dishes. The seafood paella was amazing.
Excellent food and wonderful, friendly staff.

Great food and service! I ordered food for a housewarming party for 10 people. We got ceviche and Chaufa and the food was delicious! We pick it up , and Flavio was super helpful and provided amazing service . Highly recommended !
This place is amazing. I’m taking about the food. Last time I went there I have ordered Tallarín Saltado de Carne and also ordered Lomo Saltado de Carne previously. I can tell you this: Service is quite good but I care about the flavors in each dish I order. If the flavor is not good…the rest doesn’t matter. So I can tell you…the ingredients, seasoning and flavors are undoubtedly, present in each bite you take making each dish extremely exquisite. All ingredients used are of good quality as well. I personally went to the kitchen to congratulate the chefs (3) at that time and told to them, it is the first time in 38 years that I really enjoyed my favorite dishes made the way they are supposed to be done and taste. “The Traditional Way”. “The Old Way”. I promised them I was going to write a review as a Food Critique I am stating the good news of this Peruvian Spot. Even better taste than the original Porteño at Mission and Geneva Ave. Good job!!! Buen trabajo!!! Y no cambien nada. El mejor sabor de la comida Peruana en toda el Area de la Bahía. El Porteño ll.
So far, this is the best Peruvian restaurant in San Francisco. Despite being Colombian, I love Peruvian food even more, and I’ve tried many places—this one is truly special and traditional. It might not be the fanciest spot, but if you want real, authentic, and amazing Peruvian food, it’s a must.
One of my favorite places to go on a Saturday night. The food is great and so is the service. It's a fun place to be out with your partner for dancing. Truthfully, I like this place better than most clubs for the atmosphere. You don't have to pay to gain entry or sit down. I know this place isn't a club, it's better.
Amazing Latin American authentic flavors. Karaoke 🎤 with music from all over the world. Brasilero songs, Argentina everything and all kinds of English playlist for top tier experience. Top class yet very affordable. Treat yourself, even if you're on a budget and impress your people at this Gem of a place. You can thank me later 😉😎 #LGBTQ friendly 🌈🤸🎉

Great spot, we had a table of 4 and everyone's dish was excellent in flavor and quality, portions were generous. Service was excellent, would visit again.
The papa a la huancaina was delicious. The causa was missing a little flavor. But the aji de gallina, el pescado a lo macho and the picarones, brought me back to mi peru!!!! 🇵🇪 the service was great. Super friendly staff.
Tried the fries fish filets and veggie empanadas. Both were really good. Will come back again.
good spot, take out is okay
Very fun, good food, and great service.
The chicha morada was spoiled and the anticuchos didn't taste too well. However, the service was great and didn't charge us the chicha morada. The chicken criolla soup was delicious and the environment is great for karaoke and hard drinks. I still recommend it.

Service is good and the food was okay I guess, maybe a little pricey. The cevice dish was good but the pork with Tamarindo in sweet and sour sauce was only sweet... Also the place is a bit too dark.
Very tasty peruvian food. Sangria needs to be improved with a little bit more alcohol. I love picaritos and lúcuma ice cream. The server nice but she needs to improve also
First time in San Fran, visiting from New Jersey where there’s a big peruvian community Nice big place and attentive waiters good music 🎵 karaoke 🎤 but the food was not that great could of been better for the price, didn’t seem fresh or presentable.
The food was okay, they just don't give you enough food for the money. Ordered the seafood fried rice, need to let seafood cook a little longer, seafood was a little too chewy. Very small cup of sangria, spend almost $70 for lunch by myself is too much.

I went on a Friday night for karaoke. Had tamal de chancho. It had a good flavor,but... the meat inside felt cold. Plus the hard boiled egg inside was also cold and rubbery. The topping was good. Karaoke is fun though. We ordered more but I think they forgot about us.
Shady place, food is not that good, when we asked for the bill the server didn’t present the check, instead she gave us the total amount, we left a tip as usual, my friend didn’t think the bill was correct and asked for the bill, on the bill had the service charge included already… meaning that we tipped twice. Not good for business practices.
Huge portions of food, and the ceviche flavor was decent, but the yellow sauce on the mixed seafood dish was not very flavorful and all of the calimari and octopus was overcooked making everything annoyingly chewy and tough. The ambience inside the restaurant was very strange, like a strip club without strippers ..not a place I'd want to go back to unfortunately. Servers were very friendly and accommodating however.
The food isnt bad but as a Peruvian person please don't let this be your first or last experience... This place is so extremely overpriced for a very basic plate of food. Peruvian food is known to be delicious but also accessible to the common person. With prices like these you would think you're getting huge portions or Michelin star service... But, no. I won't be returning. I gave this place multiple chances. The service doesn't improve, the portions remain minimal, and the flavors are standard, not exceptional, for Peruvian cuisine.
Overpriced for its small portion size and lack of quality. Food: I'm of peruvian descent and know what it should taste like. Plenty other local spots that get it right. Major ingredients are there, but the dishes lack expertise or effort. Ordered ceviche de pscado, it's supposed be marinated fish, but it was not, so just tasty fishy with lemon juice around it, and the fish was undercooked. Ordered yucca with "huancaina" sauce. Not sure what that sauce was, but it definitely isn't authentic huancaina sauce. Tasted nothing like it. Ordered fried chicken. One of my pieces was only a joint bone fried with batter sauce. Service: Had to call almost 6 times just to ask for hot sauce on the side. Got hung up on 3 times, until they finally answered.

Very bad service. The restaurant charge you for a service and I don't understand why if the staff doesn't have customer service.
Bad service from the lady from El Salvador. In addition, you can only pay in cash.

47 Dollars for a bucket of beer is insane Small chairs and horrible music the worst place in san francisco
This place is a rip-off. I went with five friends to celebrate a birthday, and the experience was terrible from start to finish. The food was nasty—it tasted like it was taken straight from frozen, defrosted, and reheated. We ordered: • Two plates of empanadas (the only thing that was okay) • One lomo a lo pobre — overcooked meat with sunny-side-up eggs (no bueno) • One ceviche — awful • One lomo a la parrilla • One pollo con arroz • Three pisco sours • Four margaritas • Three coffees The bill came to $260, but they had already included the tip, bringing it close to $300. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice this and left an additional 25% tip (about $50) on top of that. So we ended up paying over $340 for overcooked, fast-food-quality meals. The ambiance was very quiet for a Friday night, and the server (a man with a patch on his face) had a poor attitude, as if he were doing us a favor by serving our table of five women. Neither my friends nor I will ever waste our money at this “restaurant” again. It is extremely overpriced for such bad quality.
