What an amazing place for sushi. I was town and a local suggested this place an I was not let down. I started with the spicy garlic edemame which he's a great kick of spice. I them had akani red tuma dashing and a flame roll. The sushi was perfect and the spice of the flame roll was squelch with my Nigerian sake! I could eat at the this place daily.
Happy hour menu is so good. The skewer platter is a great meal and also much love to the agedashi tofu. I drank a lot of hot sake and enjoyed just hanging out. I would avoid the beef tongue because it was a bit dry. The wagyu beef skewer was spot on.
Small-ish interior but a great atmosphere and delicious food. Went with a bigger group and had a lot of space upstairs - I highly recommend the chicken, unagi and wagyu skewers. Excellent service and not a bad location. + good veggie skewer options for non meat/seafood eaters or people who just want vegetables.
The service was slow here. But the food! OMG! So flavourful! Id definitely go back to have their skwerers.
Delicious and would get again: - raw salmon don (bowl), best to rub the lemon slices along it for delicious fresh flavor - chicken scallion skewers, eat it with the sushi rice from raw salmon don. The sauce for the chicken was so good Pretty good: - pork belly skewer Alright: - wagyu skewers - chicken karaage Would not get again: - blackened cod was too fishy tasting. But nice that it came with regular rice
Thumbs up for the food and service. We came a bit late around 9.40pm but was welcomed nicely. Service was excellent. We had the Unagi Don, Salmon Maki, and Skewers . All good! Only the corn was not too sweet. Would recommend to come for a quick Japanese food!
Amazing experience! We reserved a table for our group ahead of time and had a great Mother’s Day dinner there. Loved everything we tried, we had the upstairs all to ourselves. Excellent service and delicious food. Exquisite interior and atmosphere and vibe are inviting and intriguing. Garlic edamame was excellent, I loved everything we had here, even the matcha IPA. The sushi rolls were perfect, I’m pretty picky about how rolls are made, they made it perfectly balanced, not too much rice and sauces, just the right amount of everything. Skewers are the best, I got to try shiitake mushrooms, Shishito peppers, scallops, beef asparagus. Must try everything else. Of course I didn’t even get a chance to take picture of the rolls it looked amazing, It was mouth watering good. Can’t wait to go back.
Great new restaurant in FiDi! The 12 piece nigiri sampler was truly spectacular. The cuts of the fish were thick and tasted very fresh. We also loved the chicken karaage appetizer and the skewer sampler from the happy hour menu. We came hungry and ended up getting a rainbow roll as well which was also great. The only drawback was that there was no background music at all and we were the first diners in the restaurant for the evening so it was quiet. I would recommend playing some light music
Absolutely unbeatable. I did not have a reservation and regardless we were promptly seated and served. The service here is unmatched. We were tended to every single time we needed something or our table cleared without even asking. Our server was wonderful and went above and beyond and even explained some traditions to my boyfriend, and recommended dishes that are popular in Japan. I ordered the Miso Salmon and it was the best salmon I have ever eaten. Not overly fishy just PERFECT. One of my new favorite places in San Francisco I will definitely be back!
Happiest happy hour! Food was super affordable and no compromise on the taste. There is parking right opposite so that’s a plus. We tried the Maki and tempura roll and it was delish. Hot sake was great too. Chicken thigh skewer was slightly burnt I felt, but maybe it’s just me and not the best miso soup I’ve had. Great for big groups, no reservation was needed.
Tried out this new restaurant! They offer last minute reservations and it’s perfect for gatherings. My colleagues ordered tuna poke and they loved it! I enjoyed the skewers here :)
I live around the corner from Nomu, and my husband loves coming here for grilled whole squid (Ika). I came here for the first time for happy hour (M-Sun 4pm-5:30pm), and they have some great deals! Always good food, great service, and I was able to sit outside with my pup!
Fantastic small plates to share and sushi menu. Owner and staff are very attentive and food/presentation is superb. Went with a large party for a friend's birthday and were treated to a large upstairs space which allows for Japanese or conventional seating or bar service for standing. A real treat all around. Owner Emma is very welcoming and personable. A great choice!
Nomu Skewers is an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by a warm and intimate ambiance that perfectly set the stage for an incredible dining experience. The service was attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home
We love the atmosphere, food, and service! Even if we didn't live nearby, we would seek this place out. Incredibly nice staff!
Wonderful. Best sushi we have had in long time. So good my daughter insisted we come back two nights in a row for the mango salmon roll.
The mushroom and beef skewers were amazing. Especially with the spice added. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The skewers are a bit small so it may be wise to order an entree and the skewers if you are hungry.
Fantastic little spot for skewers. Pork belly skewers were gigantic and the charred taste on the chicken negima was delicious. Skewers were awesome in flavor, wish it was a little less expensive. Sushi was very good and was more reasonably priced. Great service. Needs more cocktail options, but the yuzu one they have is already very good.
Was looking forward to skewers but was quite disappointed. Chicken wings are over-burnt on the skin but undercooked inside (red with blood). Gizzard does not meet my expectation too, quite chewy. The udon is mediocre. I went on a peak dinning time but at one point I was the only customer. So I guess they are not as good as I expected.
Ginger beef- beef was quite fatty, had to discreetly dispose of 3 pieces in my napkin. Veg was 90% onions. Skewers were tiny and average.
