Had a great small bite here, and I was in love with the interior. I think this restaurant would make a great date night with those who love high quality Japanese cuisine. The service staff were attentive, and the food was delicious. Around noon, it was not particularly crowded or noisy, so I loved it.
Good service, food comes out pretty quick. Plenty of room for seating. The beef ramen was really good and I got a couple rolls what I ordered was really good.
We were fortunate enough that this place was only a five minute walk from our hotel. It was relatively empty on a Sunday evening so, our service was pretty great. We started with the miso soup which was quite delicious. The flavor was rich and umami. My husband ordered the soft shell crab and could not stop raving about it. I ordered the Little Angel & Hamachi avocado rolls. My husband ordered the four and four, OMG roll and Unagi. The sushi roll cuts were perfect! (For me at least). I have a small mouth and find myself not being able to eat a lot of rolls. Every bite I ate was so delicious. And the same for my husband. I only wish we were locals so we could come back.
I wasn’t expecting much when I first visited Oma Sushi, but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout my visit. I only tried the beef udon, but it was very flavorful and satisfying. The sushi looked fresh and well-prepared, though I didn’t try it myself, so I can’t comment on the taste. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely consider coming back to explore more of the menu.
GREAT LOW KEY SUSHI SPOT- we were staying nearby Oma and decided last minute to grab a dinner there. It did not disappoint, the staff was friendly, the fish was fresh and delicious. We split several sushi combos. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!
My husband and I wanted to try a new sushi place and I found Oma which was close to our house. We got a couple of rolls, some appetizers, drinks, and dessert. It all was prepared very well and tasted delicious. The staff and chefs were so kind. We will definitely have to come back.
Wonderful place for tasty sushi. We were visiting San Francisco and stopped at this Japantown for great sushi. The place was really crowded and I'm not surprised because the food was amazing. We got multiple plates of sushi and also pork too. All the sushi plates were presented nicely with great quality. Customer service was great and the waiters were polite. We tried spicy tuna, French kiss, and California roll. The price was affordable and the quantity was good. Definitely a must place to visit. There are meters parking right outside the restaurant, if you are lucky you could get one 😊😊😊😊
The ramen noodles were a huge portion and delicious. The pot stickers unfortunately came out cold. Edamame was good enough but not remarkable. Lastly the chicken teriyaki was great. All in all it was a fine place. I don't need to go back or recommend anyone else check it out, but I didn't leave disappointed.
Wanted a quick takeout lunch while we worked from the hotel and was craving some sushi. We were in & out in 20 minutes and had some DAMN good sushi! Got the chef special nigiri/California roll combo, dragon roll, and hardrock roll. I think this is the second best sushi I’ve ever had honestly (second only to a place vying for Michelin star status back on the east coast). They are not pretentious, but make/pick damn good sushi. The tuna was absolutely perfect texture and taste, stunningly fresh. Well worth the price!

Every time I come to San Francisco, I always go here first. Food is delicious. I highly suggest the bay scallops. Small place but welcoming. Staff is awesome, but sometimes there is a language problem. They always handle it like pros. Great food. Would check them out for sure.

Highly recommend the Udon! The service was great and the atmosphere is cool. I had the tempura Udon & Seaweed Salad, both were perfect. Hidden gem for sure.

Casual. Good quality and selection. Original menu. I enjoy the Udon. Orange Blossom roll and Mango rolls are my favorites. Conveniently close to Nikko and Hilton hotels (among others). Open late! Great meal after a long day at convention center.
Close to Union Square but a peaceful break from the usual bustling of the streets. Service was prompt & staff were friendly. As a sushi lover, I was quite pleased with the freshness of the fish & the taste of each roll (I got the Rainbow Roll & French Kiss). Meanwhile, as a less adventurous eater, my mother had options to choose from & was also pleased with her choice: the shrimp tempura was “light, crispy, not greasy” & the accompanying side salad was “crisp” & “fresh”. A good experience overall, would recommend you give it a try.
This little place, within easy walking distance to Union Square and so many hotels, was absolutely a pleasant surprise. I thought it was a really good value for what I got (bento, maki handroll, lg hot sake for $41 before tip). Service was exemplary, and the atmosphere was surprisingly homey. Was it the best I've ever had? No. Am I going back? Yes!
What a wonderful sushi spot! Chef Sakuraba was outstanding. The unagi don was very large, delicious, and filling. The chicken teriyaki was also amazing. The service was great. The next time I'm back in SF, I will return for sure.

Oma Sushi is a good spot, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The fish was fresh — clean, bright, the way it should be. The wait staff, engaging and attentive, absolutely on point. But the rice, that’s where it fell down. It lacked bite, a bit flat, and I prefer it warm to carry the fish properly. Sushi is all about balance, and when the rice doesn’t shine, the whole dish suffers. A solid effort, but not quite there
Oma Sushi has some things going for it - the prices are fair for SF and the food itself was actually pretty good. The sushi rolls were fresh and well-prepared, and portion sizes felt reasonable for what you pay. However, the service really brought down what could have been a solid experience. My server had a pretty unpleasant attitude throughout the meal, which I could have overlooked, but when I mentioned that the plates weren’t clean, there was no apology or attempt to make it right. Just basic acknowledgment would have gone a long way, but instead it felt like an inconvenience to even bring it up. It’s a shame because the food quality is there and the pricing is competitive. With better service training, this place could really shine. As it stands, I probably won’t be returning even though the sushi itself was decent. There are too many other options in the city where you can get good food and good service together.
This was a good place for a quick meal. Nothing wrong with fast sushi and some Udon. The flavors were decent, though nothing extraordinary, but the crunchy salmon roll was quite enjoyable. I wish the udon had more seasoning, but the bowl was still pretty good. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick, budget-friendly bite (relatively).
Perhaps I had an unusual experience, but unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant one. I ordered a Philadelphia roll, a salmon avocado roll, and salmon nigiri. The two rolls were both warm. Not in the made fresh kind of way, but like they had been sitting out for a while. The rice was gummy, and the salmon in the salmon avocado roll tasted so fishy that I could only manage to eat two of the six pieces. The salmon nigiri tasted great, but the proportions were wild! So much salmon to a tiny ball of rice hiding underneath. The waitress was very pleasant and the dining space seemed clean and well kept, but the food left a poor impression. It’s right across the street from my hotel, so I was hoping it was going to be good.
I got the spicy salmon roll. It’s was decent quality, but it was smothered in spicy mayo. I think with less spicy mayo, I would have enjoyed it much more.

Not a picky eater by any means but I couldn’t take more than 1 bite of the lion king roll without gagging. I wasn’t expecting to get a baked California roll smothered inside and out with orange mayonnaise. It didn’t have any other flavor except cooked mayo and nothing about the photo or description mentioned it being 90% mayo. 3 stars because I appreciate the staff comping it but even after confirming that I ordered the right thing the server was insistent that I should have known what I ordered. I don’t see how I possibly could have known I was ordering a log of orange mayonnaise based on that photo and description of their menu.

I think their best trait is the location. It's fast food, quick serve so don't expect we'll presented meals in attractive serve wear. The sushi rolls were sliced rather clumsily in odd shapes and sizes. Avoid the Golden California; it's just too doughy and inedible.
Check your receipt, they charge you more than the listed price on the menu. Food is so so, service is slow even when not busy. Look elsewhere for food. Edit: in response to the restaurant’s note, here’s a picture of the receipt that proves the difference between the menu and the charge. I pointed it out to the server and she made no effort to change it, just told me “she’d let them know” 🤷🏻♀️

i love coming here. it’s a great spot with good quality sushi and great prices. i’ve always had good customer service received here but when it was my anniversary with my boyfriend, the waitress was extremely rude and dismissive of me and my boyfriend and paid more attention to another set of people that were dining as well. the cooks were also staring at us nasty the entire time. i work in food service and just a reminder that you’re going to be serving people of all kinds from all over the world and from different backgrounds. keep that disgusting mindset of yours out of the workplace and respect customers.
