Smugglers cove is the cutest tiki bar! Beautiful decor What a drink menu, it’s so good! Many cocktails to choose from and the bartenders are phenomenal. The drinks here are an art form and the presentation was excellent Sat with our group in lower level it was pretty warm in there! Must stop if you in the area!

I don’t understand what the 1-star reviews talking about. The service was amazing. After telling the barkeeper once my name he called me after my name. Our drinks were done under 10min. Very friendly stuff. I can recommend to come before the rush like around 9pm. It’s easy to spent there 3-4h.

Some of the best tiki vibes you can find at a tiki bar. Even has a 2 story water fall! Drinks are top notch across the board. You do have to order at the bar at this establishment. They’ll call your name when your drinks are ready. Many tiki bars I’ve been to in the past will have someone wait on you. It can be a little busy at times. A little disappointed that there were no fiery drinks or group drinks.

Pretty cool bar with lots of decorations and artifacts! Drinks are strong and tasty, and there’s a broad selection. Three floors so you have options on seating and vibes!

Bartenders were great, helped us get 2 seats when things were busy. I planned on having more than one drink, but they warned me, they make em strong! I chose the Undead Gentleman. Tasty. Shout-out out to Melissa, she'll take good care of you, and she loves to pose for pictures, so head on down and let her know she's appreciated!

Legendary place with historic artifact for decoration, It was a pleasure to meet the Smuggler's Cove crew, great people, Huge selection of cocktails and rums. I recommend coming at the opening to get a good seat.

Great atmosphere very relaxing very accommodating and friendly staff. One thing you might not realize is there are only about 10 bar seats on the first floor so if you want to seat at the bar, make sure you get there early.

This place! So mysterious and adorable! When you first walk in you’re like, “Oh my where am I going?” Then you enter this super cute place and you see a different place here in San Francisco. You are transported to Captain Jake’s place or something. I don’t think I am doing it justice so you will have to try it yourself! Servers were so great and attentive and the drinks delicious! . I truly hope you #enjoy and keep following me on my journey to finding these gems and sharing them with you ❤️. All love!

The imagineering in this bar is amazing. So many details put in to make this one of the best immersive experiences. The drinks are also expertly crafted. We initially sat downstairs because we liked the energy coming from the bartenders and ample places to sit. But we did move to the upper level to take in more of the details. We’ll need to return several more times to enjoy more of the drinks we wanted to try. Super bummed that there were no mugs available. Next time!

What an absolute awesome place to have a good time. 3 floors, 2 bars and 100% fun and good times! We had never been and Melissa made us feel right at home. A solid tiki bar and ambience is great. Good classics, strong spins on new drinks, and a great place to enjoy with a few friends. This was the first place my wife and I went to after we got engaged. POETIC

Worth dropping by for a drink, although not really designed to hang out. Strong drinks and limited seating kind of make you feel like you’re intended to move along. Drinks were really tasty and aesthetically presented, and the line outside moved pretty quickly, so I’d go again if in town, but wouldn’t be a regular. A worthwhile novelty to experience at least once.

It's definitely a tiki bar. The drinks were strong and delicious. The decor was great, though the "waterfall" was a bit underwhelming. The bartender was friendly and skilled and the clientele was respectful and pleasant. Unsurprisingly, it got more overcrowded the later we stayed on a random Wednesday, so don't expect a quiet drink after happy hour, even on a weekday. I'd probably go back, but it felt underwhelming somehow after all the hype when it opened. Also, parking absolutely sucks in the neighborhood, so it's best to get there via transit or Lyft.

Such a classic spot, generally a fan, but a plea from us tee-totallers--please put together a mocktail menu. Over three or four visits in the last year I've offered totally different descriptions of what I'd like to the bartender (not too sweet and bitters-driven; something citrussy and nuanced; tangy and herby) and I always, always, am given some variation of passionfruit + coconut cream. By the time I realize I've been fooled again the well-earned crowd closes in and I'm not going to be that guy and wait around to send the drink back so I just sulk away disappointed. A mocktail menu with a variety of flavor profiles would solve this, please & thank you

This is an amazing part of tiki history, worth visiting at least once. The service was good. The drinks were solid, though leaned sweeter than I expected, especially the Zombie (not pictured). My favorite was the Rum Barrel. The presentation of the drinks was somewhat understated. I think “tiki culture” has come a long way, with incredible bars in SF and elsewhere. Perhaps Smuggler’s Cove hasn’t quite kept up. Still a great spot and worth a visit though!
