The food is delicious. I was spending time with my family and often times it is hard to get a reservation anywhere. I called about an hour before and they were able to accommodate us. Had a variety of dishes and all of them were satisfying. If you like spicy, you won't be let down. Pad see eew was.yummy. The real measure though was how much my parents liked it. As they often don't like to go out. My parents really enjoyed it and even asked for business cards so they could recommend this place to their friends.
After extensive research looking for the best Tom Yum, I found Toomie's. Upon entering we were greeted with eye smiles and kind energy. The aroma and ambience was exactly what I needed. I was sat next to a space heater which not only warmed my legs but also my soul. Win for win so far. The soup arrived hot. We ordered pad khing with chicken and flaming beef (sizzling on a cast iron). Delicious😊. The Thai ice tea paired well as did the best lemon drop ever. Truly thee best! Everything was above and beyond! When I inquired about Thai chili they brought me cutest silver set of chili. Appeasing the eyes and on point for the pallet. Turns out I like chili in fish sauce the best. Straight fire. You should give Toomie's a go as it will be an dining experience that stays with you long after. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s
Came in here with a Groupon to try the food and I was very impressed! Good portions and good flavor
Traditional dishes made with quality ingredients prepared with care. Always enjoy delivery save for one time the beverages were not delivered. A one-off disappointment from an otherwise exceptional establishment.
I love their food! Especially the Panang curry and the Thai Roti. The Pad See Ew is another favorite. I've never had anything here that I didn't like 😊
Great flavor and good sized portions. We ordered a curry, a soup, as well as a Pad Thai and everything was packaged well for take out. Food was ready about 20 minutes after I placed the phone order so it was very quick and convenient even during the 6pm rush Will definitely be back in the future
We started my husband's birthday celebration in this place, I was a little nervous because it was my first time. Personally, I am a person who likes very good service and good food. and this beautiful place has excellent service, very good food in my opinion. Very good desserts, very reasonable prices, music atmosphere, We definitely all enjoyed our dinner. We would surely return. Therly B.
This is one of my go-to spots for Thai food. It's always fresh and well prepared. The portions are huge. I can usually get 2-3 meals out of one order. I've always gotten take out or delivery because, you know, pandemic, but it's always been amazing.
The best place to order Thai food I've been too. I appreciate your full serving size for the first time out of all the Thai restaurants I've been to. Love the new outdoor patio area for covid safety. Great date night classic city vibes. Great amazing food and service for a competitive price. Keep bringing us rocking thai food! We'll definitely be back.
Very great food and the staff are very friendly. Even when they were closing and telling us to leave it felt nice. Like who makes you happy and tells you to leave at the same time? Toomie’s that’s who! Try the roasted duck with peanut sauce. Delicious!
Delicious. Kinda pricey but worth it. Panang curry was excellent. Tom Kha (Coconut Milk Soup) was excellent. Eggplant dish was excellent. Flavors were on point, they nailed the spice levels that we requested. Try it. Thai food done right. Highly recommended.
This place is awesome. Duck curry, fried noodles, ice cream with fried bananas, you will die for all. They serve everything hot and fresh. I also tried spring rolls and coconut soup. All the foods were great!
I was pleasantly surprised to find this Thai food gem on my recent visit to Alameda. I had Duck and Noodles and it was delicious! I loved the spice sauce options provided as well. My daughter had the chicken noodle soup and I had a chance to take a bite. Pretty good flavors so I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Cute little Thai spot, nestled into the corner of Park and Santa Clara in Alameda. We stopped in after picking up our toddler from preschool and were immediately seated. We ordered fish cakes and chicken satay for starters, and had them on the table in minutes. Mom ordered the duck noodles dish for her main, and I ordered shrimp pad Thai. Portions were huge, and very tasty. Vibes in the restaurant were chill, relaxed, and very kid-friendly. We very much enjoyed our meal and will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely fantastic! Toomie's Thai in Alameda never disappoints. The food is always hot, plentiful, and authentically delicious. Providing enough for two or even three meals. My recent pickup was perfectly timed (GrubHub)—hot and ready when I arrived. If you're looking for consistently amazing Thai cuisine, Toomie's is the place to go! Five stars without a doubt.
Enjoyed some.refreshing and tasty Thai food at Toomie's this week. Talk about service with a smile. Very festive atmosphere and great service.
an amazing quaint place on park street!! came for lunch around 11:30 on a sunday and there was no wait, the waitress was super nice, and there was soft lofi music playing. ordered the satay chicken, papaya salad, and mango sticky rice and all 3 were amazing (the mangoes were so sweet), wish i ordered the papya salad spicy but i opted to try the mild version first. the portions are decent and just enough for a satisfying but not overfilling lunch.
My new go to Thai spot..since my old spot closed in san leandro/Oakland boarder.. #NoodlesPhoMe man that was the place..but this place didnt disappoint me and my family at all...the only problem was after we ate we all felt full...well not really a problem...will of course come back to this spot for sure...recommending this place which is way better than the other places close by..price n portions were on point...and delicious...i wish they were closer to Hayward but only 20 mins away not a far drive at all..yum 😋

Food was delicious, service excellent. Highly recommend…just miss the ambiance from years ago when soft lighting, soft colored walls made it a romantic, warm place to relax and spend time. Bright overhead lighting is too cold, less comfortable.

Had the curry noodles. Really good - just spicy enough and a great big bowl of noodles. Can't go wrong with lots of noodles. The spice levels range from medium to "spicy thai" (I hope I got that right), basically 1-5. I got level 3, which was good. I may try level 4, but level 5 would probably burn my face off. Also got the fresh egg rolls (#2 on the menu) and Thai ice tea. I'm usually not a fan of sweet creamy tea, but this just tasted so right. Check it out.
The staff is helpful and prompt, and the food is always good for the price and of comparable quality every visit. Lunch specials are the way to go, but if you come by at dinnertime or on the weekend, then I recommend the eggplant stir fry. Entrees don't come w rice, so don't forget to order some. Also, if you order tea, make sure to specify that you like it hot, otherwise it'll be lukewarm (I mean, don't specify if you prefer it that way, but...yanno). My kids are picky eaters, but they love the cream cheese wontons.
We came here after a flight into Oakland airport and we were craving Thai food. Pleasantly surprised by this tiny restaurant in the heart of Alameda. In our home town all of the Thai restaurants have stopped serving real duck for some odd reason so it was great to see them offering proper duck. We ordered several dishes including the crispy duck, mango shrink, spicy noodles, and pumpkin curry. All of the dishes were good. The crispy duck was fantastic and the only dish left completely cleared at the end of the dinner. Overall a pretty decent Thai place and it was great to have a place that doesn't cut corners. The spicy food actually had spice to it unlike what we are used to. I'd love to go back next time I'm in the area.
Came here fresh off a flight and ordered Spicy fried rice with tofu…TORCH!!!! Man I wish I could try the whole menu! My colleagues enjoyed their food as well! Come here!!!!
A cut above your ordinary Thai spot, Toomie's offer's some seafood specialty you won't find at a lot of Thai restaurants. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp And Scallop. really tender and tasty, and the Pork Pra-Ram (Pork in peanut sauce and sautéed spinach) which thankfully was not too sweet, since many other restaurants make this dish far too sweet for someone who likes real Thai food. They put a new (To Me) spin on the Traditional fried Banana and ice cream, but deep frying the banana into a imperial roll casing. Making it crispy and perfectly chewy. Great spot in Alameda!
Always love this place! Food is delicious and Thai tea is great! I got pad kee mao and Thai tea and total is $22.42! Please improve the the restroom, it’s a little under maintenance!

Fresh authentic Thai food. I picked up the food (garlic fish)which was very fresh, generous portion. Serves beer and wine. It is an older restaurant , kind of dark inside but if I were in the area and wanted Thai food, I would return

Good food. Usually not spicy enough, but I expect that in this area. They did get my order wrong once (I wanted tofu with my vegan Pad Kee Mao and the server agreed) but when it came out without tofu they tried to convince me that the dish doesn't come with tofu. So I had to order a separate side-dish of fried tofu to get my protein. It was bland. The Pad Kee Mao was fine, but was also a little bland... Maybe they don't sub anything for the fish sauce they take out when they make it vegan? A bit of soy sauce would've helped it out I think. The first time we went here, the server also kept on speaking only to me and kept ignoring my gf.
Got 2 pad thai orders Pros: Tofu was done well, order was packaged well, and staff was friendly. Cons: Noodles were soft (mushy) and there wasn't much sauce so it was kind of dry. Kind of bland and no lime. I'd probably give it another shot, but it wasn't a tremendous experience.
Since COVID, Toomie’s has been my go-to. I give these guys my business in a pretty regular basis. The food is decent and that’s why I keep coming back but these two concerns have been bugging me. This incident however broke the camel’s back. Their noodles are way too saucy. Less 30% is more than fine. It’ll still taste good. I don’t need to be thirsty for 24 hours. The second and final concern is their use of paper containers as nearly half the time the sauce spills and eats through the paper bag even with a piece of aluminum holding up the food. On more than one occasion, I’ve had to clean my carpets by hand. This time was the worst as EVERY step from my front door up to the second floor had sauce trail. I spent 30 mins cleaning up the mess. If this doesn’t improve, I’m afraid I can’t give repeat business. It’s a simple fix. Use plastic bags, not paper bags over the paper container.

Food was decent, service pretty basic. While the staff is generally nice, the older woman who seems to be in charge is not friendly or welcoming, esp if you come in anytime near closing.feels like most of their business is to go, so they don't train the staff in dine-in service.
we really like the food at Toomie's, especially their Pumpkin Curry based dishes. years ago, Toomie's was a cozy nook but these days it's too bright and lifeless inside. in addition, during our most recent visit, the staff decided to clean the floors and counters with a very strong smelling ammonia detergent making the experience uncomfortable. guess Toomie's is more interested in being a takeout place these days.

Chicken labb very sour. They did not give any spoons or fork even after we called.
I didn’t even get to the food, because the establishment was so dirty it made me wary of eating here. There was a dirty cleaning napkin stuck to my chair, and my glass had either not been washed or was washed very poorly as there was residue and bits of food inside it. My partner’s glass and my plate were the same.
LOUSY experience. Food 2.5 score heavily affected by a chewy piece of inedible low-grade salmon. Rest was ok with no standout flavors. Long wait of 40mn for the first appetizer. Seating tables are old and worn and it's too cold inside. But the bathroom is the most revolting part and seems not to have been cleaned in months.
I used to enjoy this place a lot and always thought the food was spot on. Took my brother recently for a birthday dinner and when we were nearing the end of our meal. The waitress cut us off and asked us if we were done already. There place wasn’t really full of people. I realized while we were catching up and laughing that made her and the rest of the people there uncomfortable. We weren’t extremely loud but this is establishment puts emphasis on making certain clients more comfortable. Not coming back here anymore because if we can’t even enjoy our meal and get cut of while we are in mid-sentence it’s best to go somewhere else.
I ordered the fresh spring roll with shrimp, white rice, Panang Curry with vegetables, and Thai Ice Coffee. The spring roll was described as having vegetables. The only vegetable in this spring roll was lettuce with maybe 10 pieces of shredded carrot. The curry was bland, watery, and no lime flavor. The Thai Iced coffee was watered down with no noticeable sweet cream/milk. This was all for about 35.00. This was not worth 5.00. Terrible food.
Not for vegetarians. Food delivery is worse. Packaging was super bad. Noodles with sauce were smashed by a green sauce container on top, broke the container and food was everywhere in the bag. Spicy Noodles(Pad Kee Mao) description does not mention eggs but contains egg. when called the restaurant, they asked to come and pick up the food. Why would I order from Door Dash, if I wanted to pick my own order or eat in the restaurant? This defeats the purpose. On top of that, they do not accept their mistake or want to refund the money.
Extremely Disrespectful and Unsanitary Experience I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The lady at the counter was incredibly rude, aggressive, and even racist in her behavior. Her disrespectful attitude made me feel completely unwelcome. On top of that, I witnessed staff members putting their fingers in their noses while handling food, which is completely unacceptable and unsanitary. It was clear that hygiene and customer service are not priorities here. I will never return to this restaurant, and I strongly recommend others avoid it as well.
This restaurant treats its customers with great disrespect! There is a lady with an Asian face at the front desk. She has a very bad attitude and no smile on her face. It's like her parents just died, her face is depressed, and she has no manners to treat guests. She should be fired immediately! Besides, the hygiene of this restaurant is worrying, and the ingredients used are not fresh. Don't choose this restaurant for dinner.
This used to be my go-to spot for Thai food in Alameda, but no longer. In fact, I would say this is the most I've seen a restaurant decline in one year. They're taking so many DoorDash orders they can't keep up with two customers seated in the dining room. I was with one other person. His food came out, then mine came out almost 19 minutes later. While I watched him eat and waited for my food I saw 13 DoorDash orders go out. And the restaurant is just dirty. There's paint peeling off the walls, the chairs are filthy, and the cashier area looks like something you'd find in a third world country. The kitchen is behind a partition and if what is visible outside is as dirty as it is I can only imagine what it looks like in the kitchen. It is time for this restaurant to close. Someone is going to get sick if they haven't already. I won't be back.
We share a courtyard with Toomies. For an extended period of time, their staff and owner have repeatedly poured dirty mop water and, at times, kitchen grease directly in front of our storefront, often at night, now during our business hours. We have asked them multiple times, politely, to stop. The behavior has continued and is now affecting our customers and creating unsanitary conditions. We have video documentation of these incidents and have reported the matter to the appropriate authorities. During one incident, liquid was poured onto one of our employees. Due to the escalation, we involved the police. This is an ongoing issue that we are actively trying to resolve.
I order Pad Kee Mao and I had eggshells inside my food! They need to do better! Very disappointing.
Back in 2021 my mother and I had a terrible experience at Toomies, food, service, everything. To top it off they gave me horrific food poisoning!!!! It's been several years and we decided to try it again as we used to enjoy eating at Toomies. Oscar night, didn't want to cook, didn't want to walk anywhere to pick anything up, we ordered from Toomies. What a mistake! We ordered what must have been a half portion of fried rice WITH FROZEN VEGETABLES LOLOLOLOL overpriced, really soggy lumpias overpriced, cream cheese wontons that weren't in my opinion proper wontons, lumpias and wontons should have different wrappers (they were also over cooked), the Thai iced teas however were good. One thing out of a $74 dollar order. We won't be coming back. The price with quantity and quality do not match!
Warning!! Do not eat here! I ordered Pad See Ew and chicken wings here via DoorDash two night ago. The next morning I felt really bloated and had a diarrhea attack, feeling my stomach turning and making gurgling sounds all day long! I’m sure I had food poisoning similar to Bali belly. Don’t go here, there are other Thai places to eat at.
Ordered for takeout, is absolutely inedible and disgusting. Ordered an order of wings, first the chicken is bad, not cooked all the way through, was soggy, on top of all that I received no dipping sauce on the wings or on the side. Also ordered some pad Thai, no sauce once again. It also tasted like it came from a can. Absolutely disappointing and disgusted.
