I went to have breakfast on a weekday. It was empty. There busiest times are weekends for breakfast and around dinner time. I ordered their breakfast special which is excellent. We also ordered an empanada to try it. It didn't disappoint. I understand why this place is packed on weekends for breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
I've been coming here for more than 10 years. The food has always been great, but the service is a hit or miss. If you are looking for a delicious plater of traditional and authentic Ecuadorian food you should come here! My only wish was that for early weekends to have platers ready, ceviche's and encebollados are essential plates people want to eat incase of a hung over, and sometimes you have to wait a while for stuff to be ready. Nonetheless this spot is amazing, and I will continue to be a loyal costumer.
This is a wonderful Ecuadorian restaurant. It was difficult to choose from the multitude of traditional Ecuadorian delicacies. I had the Caldo de Bola, Sopa de Morcilla, and muchin, which were all exquisite. The passion fruit mojito was a lovely drink choice. The atmosphere was great and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend!
Amazing, excellent experience. Top perfection, if a heaven could be a restaurant it would be this. Food is well cooked, service is great and most importantly they played Grammy winning artist Album of the year Karol G. I highly highly recommend eating here!!! Bathrooms are fancy and super clean, if you have OCD this this the place for you!
Food is amazing. The service is outstanding and then on a Friday you get to do karaoke. What else can you ask for.
This has been my favorite Ecuadorian place for YEARS, the food has always tasted amazing and authentic, feeling very much like home. The wait times are always hit or miss on weekends but the service given by the waiters has always been great. Special shout-out to me & my family’s waiter this evening, Richard, who was so sweet and gave us amazing attention !!
First time and I instantly fell in LOVE!!!! My sister constantly comes to this place and so for my birthday we decided to go out and eat here... AMAZING!! The food was great, the drinks was even BETTER!! They do get pretty busy and the wait was pretty long, but so worth it! I have tried other Ecuadorian places but nothing compares to this restaurant, I truly recommend!!
Their menu is full of options that truly represent the vibrant culture of Ecuador. I've recommended this place to many and have only heard great feedback. My family often comes from Long Island to enjoy their weekend brunch and are always thrilled with Hilda's service.
If you’ve been coming here since the beginning you know this place has had many make overs the the stage in the back that once stood, to the circle table they once had by the front door. Though all these changes one thing has stayed the same the energy of the owners (this place is run by a family predominantly this location is the father’s and the one in Astoria is the sons). Which ever location you go to whether it’s the two in queens or the first location in bk the food is amazing, the staff is great to tend to your every need.
I love coming to this restaurant! The food is always delicious and the drinks are tasty plus happy hour is half off all drinks!! I had a reservation to celebrate some birthdays in the family and Jefferson took really good care of us. Good atmosphere and good music. Can't wait to go back! Thanks Jefferson for making our time there fun and enjoyable.
I don't eat meat so I thought my visit there with my parents was going to be a bland one for me. My parents had thier usual calories de Bola and Seco de chivo. They always rate thier food 5 stars. I had the humita ( moist corn cake wrapped in corn leaf), and it was delicious and flavorful. I accompanied it with their quaker. That drink is my favorite. The service was good. The atmosphere was calm. We went on a regular business day around 330pm
Great lunch at Barzola, the server followed the specifications we requested for our plates, and it was delicious, Eduardo has a very nice personality, was very polite and funny.
I visited this restaurant today, and I had a great experience. The place was clean, comfortable, and had a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and the service was fast. I especially appreciate the attention from Sebastian. The food was fresh and very delicious. I really liked the flavors, and the portions were good. The prices were reasonable for the quality. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends, and I would like to come back again.
Try the caldo de bolas and the humita very delicious flavorful Ecuadorian food in a fun atmosphere. Went there twice with Ecuadorians who suggested it and it was enjoyable
I was amazed by the quality of the ingredients. The team worked efficiently and kindly. It was truly a memorable dining experience.
This is my favorite place. Every time I come to New York I came straight from war to this restaurant. Every dish is amazing. You definitely need to detour and come here and try it.
The place was beautiful, the service exceptional and so nice. Will expect more Latin music but probably bc it was weekend. But in general it was a good experience definitely. The food was really good and portions.
This lovely Ecuadorian restaurant is busy but in a good way. I stopped in for a cocktail, I was impressed at how efficient the staff was. The vibe is relaxed the decor is lovely. I highly recommend the passion fruit cocktail. It’s walking distance from the train stop, if you’re on the flushing main this is a great place to dine on the 7 train.
My first time at an Ecuadorian restaurant and I was really impress. The quality of the food is outstanding. They are usually pretty busy, so depending on the time of the day you might have to wait. However they move pretty quick. Prices are overall average specially for seafood. Options for everyone and definitely you wont regret it. They do sell alcohol.
Loved the food, the service and the vibe. Our party of 15 was well taken care of and food was brought out hot. \n\nWe especially love the fruit drinks but were pleased with the choice of kiwi lemonad…

Food is great. Excellent environment. Service was a 10/10. I came once before and it was above and beyond.

Drinks were the best part here! Went during a Sunday afternoon and it was busy! Seated us quickly but took about 1-1.5 hours to get the food! I would come back just for the cocktails
Food was outstanding, all including appetizers where great no complaints. Unfortunately service needs improvement , after hostess sat us down with menus it took several minutes to ask for a drink or get started with appetizers. Serving needs improvement, other than that drinks and food were 5☆s.
Beautiful restaurant inside with a club vibe. Service was pretty good, the order was taken right away and waitress came to check on us often. Food was good had good flavor but for me it wasn't outstanding. Compared to other Ecuadorian restaurant that I have to to I know what the food should taste like and it just lacked a little more flavor. And I'm a Ecuadorian so I know what it should taste like. But it was good food for a comparable price with other Ecuadorian restaurant.
I’m genuinely disappointed with my experience at Barzola. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that service wasn’t a priority. It took ten minutes just to be asked about drinks, and even then, we were never offered water—a basic courtesy in any dining establishment. When our drinks finally arrived another ten minutes later, we placed our order, hoping the food might redeem the poor service. Unfortunately, the food was nothing special. It was lackluster at best, and for the price, there are far better options in the area. This restaurant not only failed to impress but also left me feeling disappointed after driving from NJ looking for authentic Ecuadorean food.
Went here in the morning for outdoor dining and was seated at a corner table near the restaurant entrance. No need to make a reservation but I would advise to get there early as the seats get taken quickly. I ordered Bolones con Chicharron and a hot coffee as it was brisk that morning and the wind was blowing 🥶 The food was delivered to the table at a reasonable time. The waitress was friendly. Although the Bolones had little pieces of Chicharron, it needed to be salted and so I asked for the salt shaker. Otherwise, it was good and filling. The Bolones con Chicharron was $8 and the coffee $2. I don't remember clearly but there might have been a "suggested" gratuity added to the bill automatically.
I’m going to be honest with you I really liked the place, for my first time here. The ceviche was pretty good in my opinion. The atmosphere was pretty. Music was pretty loud though, which made it hard to be heard. I got my order right but unfortunately my girlfriend did not. I’m assuming the waitress misheard what was said and bought her out the wrong thing. I don’t blame her since it was super loud and the two dishes have a similar name. It was just a bit disappointing knowing that she actually really wanted what she ordered in the first place. No big deal was made out of it since the dish that was brought out wasn’t terrible. I will visit again when I’m in the area.
I accidentally find this place many years ago on Halloween. We had a great time, food and drink then and after . Last week we come back again to watch the soccer World Cup with friends . At the door we was already very welcomed, then they put together tables for us .Our server was a very nice guy, he did a great job with our tables, wasn’t too much time to time check up on us. Price very affordable. But the check already include $50 tip. We didn’t mind just good to know so you won’t double tip. My friend had a birthday recently the song the cake with the fireworks candle made his day ! Thank you for all! I love the vibes there we definitely come back another time!

Very good food, Johanna was a good waitress. The only complaint was the fountain soda.
Egh service, initial waitress took her time to acknowledge me. Never brought me water. Made a statement like “I know you people make your steak differently” (I am Colombian and its an Ecuadorian restaurant) with a stern face as if. Would never go back. Came with high hopes. Handed me off to someone else which I’m goad as last waitress was nice but still not a recomendable experience.
The restaurant was mostly empty yet the hostess seated us close to the door. When we asked to be seated elsewhere we were told the tables were reserved. We finished our breakfast yet the other tables continued to be empty. The food was delicious! Service was not! The customer comes first! I don’t think they understand this.
To be honest the place was cool til the server messed up the order and did not take accountability for the mistake after she even read us back the orders.
I ordered today via Uber eats with my coworkers. I was trying the bolon for the first time, the taste was good, I really liked it, but I do think it is way overpriced for what you get, it had a very small amount of chicharrón and cheese for $17. Will not be buying again... At least not from this restaurant.
Amazing food but their service was seriously lacking.
I have come to this restaurant for many years. This last visit was very disappointing. I came on a Thursday afternoon. I am not sure if they changed the chef, but the food was just not that good. Not only was the food not great but the prices were ridiculous. $6 for ONE empanada. Funny, because that was the best item I ate. The service was fantastic, I just can't say enough about how great it was. The music might have been a bit louder than I liked, but overall, the atmosphere was great as well. I'm not sure I want to come back, though. Empanada de verde 💙💙💙💙💙 Encebollado 💙💙💙 Muchines 💙💙 Chaulafan 💙💙
Food was okay. We had a waitress whose service was unpleasant. The manager came & removed her from our table because she continued to get our orders wrong as well as get an attitude. The manager changed our server & he was excellent. My wife enjoyed the birthday desert & the shout out from the dj at the restaurant was cool. Started sour but ended sweet!!🙂
The food is good. The service is great, and the wait for food is not too long. The only issue is the menu prices. I have eaten at similar restaurants with the same type of food, and prices are in a comparable range; here, they were much higher.
Waiter was inattentive and I had to continuously call her and others for things I needed. I observed her following up on a larger group and not my daughter and I. Lunch was great tho.
So where do I start I ordered a soup and a entrée they both came out at the same time... The soup bowl not appealing it tries to hard to be fancy but in reality it's not well designed for a soup especially when it's filled to the top the soup spills and dirties up the bowl.. The waitress never offered water and my arrozz chaufa had way too much soy sauce... Other than that the soup of "bolon" was delicious.
The service was minimal, we had to ask for a waiter after 15 minutes sitting and waiting. They were not busy. \nI went for the Caldo de Salchicha and was told they run out by 3:30 or 4:00 every Sat…
Have been here twice and both times I’ve had a not so great experience with my order. Ceviche the concha was quite pricey for the quality, had an off taste to it and was not fresh. Chaulafan was not great but better than the ceviche even though it was overly salty and greasy. Could do better with quality of food and prices.
This review is a reflection of the food, I tried the ceviche and chaulafan, was not a fan of both. The price also does not reflect the quality of food. The portion was good, but they do charge a fee for using a credit card which I find absurd. The service was nice, really no complaints about the service just the food, price and credit card charge. The one drink I had was good so at least you shouldn't go wrong with ordering a drink 🍹
I ordered chauflan. The food was ok, had better in Tropical restaurant. The service could have been better. Did not ask how was the service or if we wanted more water. Atmosphere was pleasant.
Too pricey, food want really good. They charged me 15.00 to use my debit card and the tip was already included at 27.00 when the service sucked. Never going back

To begin with we were the second table to be there at the time. We ordered a total of three hot drinks, which two of them were given cold after 15 minutes of waiting, and the second one 10 minutes after the first two after it had been siting in one spot for minutes. I had to call the waitress attention in order to get my drink. We didn’t receive two of the orders made, one soup and one salad. Both were canceled because things had already been taking too long. The food didn’t taste as one expected, I’m Ecuadorian and can say that there’s better places out there. Their food barely had any taste. The service was bad, our table wasn’t taken care of. We had multiple plates that needed to be taken away. Had the menu with us the whole visit. There was no effort made to make us feel happy at their restaurant. There worse part was paying a total of $160, including a $20 tip that couldn’t be avoided because it’s included in the bill. The service, the food, and even paying was bad. We had to go up to them because they took too long to come and get our card. It was just a horrible visit I hope no one has to deal with ever. The place wasn’t worth our money. The waitress didn’t desver any tips. No complaints were made because we were tired of waiting and had to leave to work.
Food was subpar. You go around the corner and could get any dish for half the price and twice as good. However for an authentic Ecuadorian dinning experience dish, this place could have good potential for a good experience. The hostess was very polite and kind. The Service and dinning experience made me regret siting down. Our family had horrible waiting staff, not only was rude but made unwanted. Will probably never come back here as there are other great Ecuadorian restaurants nearby.
Good food, but customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. They scam, will tell you the credit card machine is down, meanwhile you see other waiters processing credit cards, and the guest leaving. When you question them, they tell you to get cash from a atm because they charge 15% for parties of 3 or more and they won’t see the tip if it’s cc. After questioning, the machine was magically working again. Hope the IRS does come down on them. Avoid at all cost.
Food was just ok l, I have had way better Ecuadorian food but this by far was the worst service I have ever experienced. The waitresses were very rude, I literally had to get up several times to go in search of water, salt, and the check. The food took forever to come out and it was cold and flavorless. I heard a guy telling them that he was waiting over an hour for his food after that he finally ran out of patience and left empty handed. I dont know how this place stays in business! Please don't waste your time coming here it is not worth your time or money!
I got a plate of guatita it was watery and the portion was smell. Not worth the price this place is overpriced. Also the customer service from the waitress was horrible she was rude and didn’t want to explain or help with the order. Do not recommend.
Food is Good, Terrible Customer Service. Owner should have these people trained, when they are hired. In both Queens locations service is the worse.Barzola Has the Best tasting Ecuadorian Food. But the score completely goes down because of the Terrible Customer Service. I have seen this Restaurant Grow since they started in Brooklyn in their apartment. Now is a Chain of Barzolas, but in all of their restaurants the waitresses and waiters are not trained properly on Customer Service. To sit is a long wait, to wait for the Food is another disaster. After food is serve theres nobody to ask or get anything additional.
I came with my husband this morning to have breakfast but, only 1 person was working helping 7 tables (14 people)! I asked the waiter if she was expecting help and she said no. it is just her working in the morning bc the owner felt she could handle this amount of people. Not to mention she is also busy on the phone taking orders ! 😡Very unreasonable!! Hope next time we are here they have at least 2 people working in the mornings
Got take out by mistake from this barzola, instead of Astoria BLVD. How is this place the same chain of restaurants. This place is skimming from the owner. They put less meat than the other locations (Picture Attached) please look at how small and paper thin the single piece of beef was and the taste is way off. Got the churasco and it tasted like ketchup beef. They packed the container with white rice and French fries for $27. I am speechless that they're getting away with this type of quality control.
Unfortunately I found a rocks on the rice and I told the waiter but I never saw the waiter again. Not sure where she went. I got the check & paid and left. I think it is very important to take care of the client and the food you are serving. Reason why people pay for. Thanks again but I think I a point of improvement! I don’t think I will come back here!
The service was horrible. The waitress doesn't explain the Manue. The food takes very long time to come. The waitress doesn't come and asks if we need anything else. We came first then other people but yet other people had their food served first and we waited 30 minutes . And still messed in my order. Very disappointed.
After an hour of placing my order on their website I received a call from the restaurant stating one of the plates of the order was unavailable, the “owner” was so busy that couldn’t pick up the phone. Can you explain how after an hour the restaurant is unable to check if they have the ingredients for an order!!!! An after requesting a refund was told to wait 12 hours for it. How dare you to tell be to be patient when I been waiting for my order for an hour
