Kung Fu Tea in Redwood City is elite. From the moment you walk in, the staff is friendly, efficient, and genuinely happy to help you decide—dangerous, because everything sounds amazing. The drinks are consistently on point—perfect sweetness, strong tea flavor, and boba that’s always chewy and fresh (never hard, never mushy). Shoutout to the new Prism Tower Punch—it’s refreshing, fruity, and super vibrant, both in flavor and looks. Easily one of my new go-to drinks and perfect if you want something fun and not too heavy. Service is fast even when it’s busy, the shop is clean, and orders come out exactly how you customize them. I’ve tried classic milk teas, fruit teas, and now the Prism Tower Punch, and they never miss. If you’re in Redwood City and craving boba, this Kung Fu Tea is a must. Five stars, no question—already planning my next visit.

Here for the soft open, and it was worth the wait! Ordered the first Thai Milk Tea ever served here, and the tea flavor is on the strong side, similar to how it's served in Korea and Taiwan. Regular boba is semi sweet and just enough bounce in the bite. Bonus points for being locally owned by a family with roots in Taiwan, super happy we have a closer boba option vs downtown rwc. Support local!

Came to the soft opening, and they did not skimp on quality! The boba was warm, the right amount of chewy and soft, and perfectly sweet. Honey milk tea was flavorful, loved it. So glad they’ve come to RWC :)

Finally! Been waiting for Kung Fu Tea to open in our neighborhood - and it's great! The tea is tasty & well-mixed, and the boba tastes fresh with that classic buoyant boba texture - yes. Fun ambiance, with a Photo Booth coming, and with the service you can order via screens inside or with someone at the register. Also well-located with a free parking lot & plenty of street parking. Next to a Dunkin, Japanese curry restaurant, & Thai restaurant too!

I visited it for the first time, the owner was very friendly. The drink was delicious. I recommend it.

Came here on my way back from an event, and I'm not usually in the area. Also came here because there was a TooGoodToGo (2g2g) and thought I'd pick up for it. I also purchased two drinks from here, one large milk tea, and one rose hip milk tea + matcha cloud. The rose hip milk tea was at 70% sweetness. A little on the sweeter side than I thought, but still very enjoyable. The flavor itself was strong enough to balance out the tea, and not necessarily overpower it. The cloud added a nice consistency and level of flavor to the drink overall. The prices for these drinks seem very affordable to me. I'm happy the extra fun options were nothing to stretch my wallet over. Drew (owner) told me that he'd just opened the store 3 months ago, and I hope it does well! I know I'm not in the area often, but hope if I'm ever nearby, I can nab another drink. He seems to have a good rapport with his staff, and good demeanor to customers, which certainly adds to the experience. He told me he'd been rated low on 2g2g. He'd given me the option of picking what I wanted for drinks (2 large or 3 smalls), and then gave me a variety of flavors to choose from. The main low rating I saw on 2g2g in regards to this store was variety of drinks. In my opinion, getting 2 flavors for one trip is completely fine for a 2g2g pick up. Half the purpose of 2g2g is to help the restaurant/store with slow moving stock. I hope people stop rating this store low on 2g2g, because it doesn't deserve to be anything less than 4.5 in my opinion.

10/10 place. The drinks taste amazing. It’s a little on the expensive side, but the customer service more than makes up for it. The owner is super easygoing and friendly to talk to. Definitely a 10/10 spot.

Absolutely love this Kung Fu Tea location. The drinks are consistently fresh, well-balanced, and never overly sweet, you can really taste the tea. The boba is perfectly chewy every time, which is honestly hard to find. The staff are friendly, patient, and welcoming, even when it’s busy, and the shop itself is clean and comfortable. There’s a great variety on the menu, from classic milk teas to matcha and milk caps, so there’s always something new to try. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving boba. Reliable quality, great service, and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend!

Lovely experience ordering from Kung Fu Tea today :) I had the apple oolong with wow boba and it was delightful! The flavors were so delicious! The roasty oolong pairs so well with the apple and the boboa is the best I’ve had on this side of the city. Just moved into the neighborhood and this will be my new tea home. Went cause I was pretty thirsty after running at the local park decided to order 10 drinks during rush hour but they were made pretty fast I tipped the two asian boys with glasses one penny and they had an surprised expression. However do not get the sunshine pineapple tea it is not tasty. Then after I left my big mess and went straight back to running at the park. #gains 🏃‍♀️💨

Love this place. The drinks are solid and despite the seemingly quick employee turnover, they always seem to find friendly staff. There's one young lady (the OG of the place) that's been there since we first started coming here and she's awesome. I think they used to close earlier on weekdays but now that they're open until 11pm, Kung Fu Tea is in our later evening rotation. They're really good about introducing new products so they seemingly always have something different to try.

Price: Fair for boba shops. Nothing to run home about either direction lol. Food: I didn’t love my longan jujube drink but the herbal jelly was delicious and so was the boba. The honey black tea with chia seeds was delish too! Service: Gentleman that took my order was very respectful and helpful. Environment: Tables were clean and store was comfortable to be in if wanted. Decent place but not the best in town for boba drink. No thai tea on the menu, boba was a bit hard in the center, and way too much ice in the cup, lefting you with uncatchable boba by the end of your drink. Other than that the place is brand new and looks very nice, staff young and friendly, taste of the Taro was very good.

pretty average boba spot. Not a fan of the non-diary milk powder and the boba is cooked pretty unevenly (and too hard), and also doesn't fit thru the straws. Still grateful we finally have an actual boba place in the area

It doesn't come close to the spring mountain location. I'm very disappointed. I spent $19 on 3 teas, and when I got home, it was a real letdown. I called to let them know, and the employee on the phone was less than helpful. She was very defensive offered. I came back to replace them, but given its over a 30-minute drive for me, I said no. I asked her to give me a future discount instead , that I didn't want my money back just some offer for future use. She kept being defensive, and instead of owning up to the idea that she made a bad batch, she said , "Well, no one has complained today." That's when she lost me. I was not looking to be a Karen, just to keep me a customer. I wanted to try my drink before driving away, but I had asked for a hot drink. That tea was so hot. I'm sure it was over the safety standard for hot drinks. I figured it'd be good to drink by the time I was home. I am so annoyed because for 10 years, I've drank the same dang tea, and it just doesn't hit the spot. 🤣 good luck in the future, maybe hire employees who do not take a complaint personally.

This place has been renovated and it looks great! Pleasant lighting and electronic menus on the TV behind the counter. Most importantly is they are consistent and you can count on the same flavors you're used to from amy other KFT's! I will say that the cashier didn't appear to be the brightest and got out order wrong, but perhaps they just need more training or experience? I'm sure next time it'll be better...

I visited Kung Fu Tea at this location today and was surprised to see only one employee working and handling all the orders. I completely understand how overwhelming and stressful that can be. That said, the customer service left much to be desired. The employee was visibly irritated, mumbling under her breath, slamming things in the back and not making any effort to communicate clearly or courteously. Instead of handing over drinks or placing them down the counter, she slid them across the counter, which felt dismissive. When I noticed that the boba was missing from my drink, a small and understandable mistake, I politely asked if she could add it. In response, she snapped her fingers as I was handing over the cup and gave me an annoyed facial expression. She also didn’t want to make the taiyaki, which was disappointing. I wasn’t expecting perfection, especially with her working alone, but a bit of basic courtesy would’ve been appreciated. I hope the management takes steps to support their staff better and encourage a more respectful attitude toward customers, regardless of how busy things get.

Only giving 2 stars because the employees that were working around 3:30 to 4pm 5/18 were nice. This is the second time I have ordered boba tea from this place and the batch was burned. The first time, I had ordered 7 of the same boba slush but didn’t realize until I drove all the way home, that were all burnt and disgusting. The shop had no issue fixing it but it was frustrating to have to drive all the way back to get it corrected. This last time which was 5/18, my daughters’ ordered identical Oreo slush drinks. When the drinks came out, one was noticeably without Oreo cookie chunks and once my daughter tried it, while we were driving away in the car, she complained it didn’t taste like Oreo at all. Yet another burned batch that she described to taste like coffee grounds. They should have both been slush but the burnt was more of a milk tea. She was too shy to speak up so I couldn’t get it corrected for her. I just feel there is a serious quality issue and should have been easily recognized when 2 identical drinks are made and only 1 of them actually looks like what was ordered. Disappointed!

I really wanted to support this new boba shop, but our first visit was honestly so frustrating. My husband and I went in and ordered two drinks and mini corn dogs. The store was completely empty when we arrived, so we assumed it would be a quick stop. There was only one person working, which we understood—but even with that, it should not have taken 40 minutes for two drinks and a small food item. What made it worse was the total lack of communication. We were never told there would be a long wait. No heads up, no “it might be about 30–40 minutes,” nothing. We just stood there waiting, unsure of what was going on. To make matters even more frustrating, customers who came in after us received their orders before we did. Watching people walk in, order, and leave while we were still waiting was incredibly disappointing and confusing. When we finally got our order, there wasn’t even a simple apology or acknowledgment of the delay. A quick “Sorry for the wait” or “Thanks for your patience” would have gone a long way. I understand being short-staffed, but if the store is empty, orders are coming out out of sequence, and it still takes 40 minutes with no communication, that’s a serious customer service issue.

07/15/2022, 0725pm, we were the only 2 customers at the tea shop. My girlfriend was asking for some options and wanted to be familiar with the menu. The female cash register and male in the back rolled their eyes because of our questions. Walked out and went straight to the Brew Tea Bar across the street. Where they don't have attitude and better tea anyways. Used to be a regular customer, but no longer. *picture is of the place across the street.
