Pequena Colombia has been at this address for years and is an excellently run, family owned eatery on Armenia Avenue, Tampa The atmosphere is wonderful, inside and out, decorated with fau-ruined walls, heavy wood beams, and pre-Inca designs everywhere. The food is authentically prepared Colombian, served hot and quickly. We have had many of the items on the menu and they are al delicious!
I really enjoyed myself here. The food was good, the atmosphere vibrant and service was great. I'll be back.
Some of the best Columbian food in town. We especially love coming here for breakfast and leaving with pastries for the family. The breakfast is kind of and a la carte affair which is great because you can get exactly what you want. The papas corollas and chicharones are ungodly good. I usually get a couple eggs and toast aswell. We haven't had a single bad pastry yet, the pan de guava is a favorite. Service is always fast and friendly.
It's a really nice authentic feel Colombian restaurant. The food and service were great. I will definitely be back. They have all the authentic typical Colombian dishes and then some. They also have a lounge next door that's open till 3am.
I went with my family to eat, and to have a real Colombian experience, Diana was our waitress, she was excellent. Really helpful, super nice. She made our experience 100%.
Today was my first time trying this place and it was 10/10!!!! Diana was my server and she was so sweet and helpful because I didn’t what to order! I got churrasco argentino and it was delicious! I highly recommend it!! Thank you Diana!!! :)
Thank goodness the food was always great but service was lacking this time.
We drive from the Sarasota/ Bradenton area because this is the best Colombian restaurant around. My husband I love it. Delicious. Enjoy
This place is a great place to come in and seat and enjoy a drink and just chill while having a beer watching sports on big screen tvs. Very nice, clean, and waitress are always making sure you are doing good and makes people feel comfortable. Yes 5 stars for very good food and service. Will definitely come again.
The food was absolutely amazing. Chef’s kiss! Our server, Andres, was super kind and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Great service all around. Highly recommend!
LA PEQUEÑA COLOMBIA in Tampa, FL is an absolute gem! Even when opting for carry-out instead of delivery, the experience was seamless. From the moment we ordered online, the process was incredibly easy, fast, and the food arrived fresh. It was our first time trying Colombian cuisine, and we were blown away by the flavors and authenticity. Even for a carry-out experience, LA PEQUEÑA COLOMBIA exceeded expectations! The service was impeccable, and the cozy environment added to the overall delightful experience. Beyond the amazing food, they have a small plaza with goodies for everyone, making it a unique and charming spot. The drinks were a perfect complement to the scrumptious dishes. My family, including our 4-year-old, had a fantastic time, and the portions were so generous that we brought home a whole plate for my mother, who was equally impressed with the deliciousness. LA PEQUEÑA COLOMBIA is a hidden treasure in Tampa, and we'll definitely be spreading the word to friends and family. Five stars don't seem enough for this extraordinary culinary find!
Beautiful Colombian Restaurant, with attractive female waitresses. Also check out the most beautiful and advanced bar in Tampa! Packed with amazing massive tv screens to watch sporting events, and fancy modern light effects for music or private parties.
1.31.25 Came back for arroz con pollo, cafe con leche and pan de queso grande. It was my first time trying the dish. They use chicken breast, carrots and peas and the way its cooked it taste on the sweeter side. I would give it a 7/10. The dressing for the salad was too sweet on my opinion but everything tasted good. I was surprised about the price for the bread but it tasted good. The coffee was great as well. 7 months ago: The service is amazing, their hot chocolate is one of the best Ive tried. My man got a passion fruit juice with milk and it tasted like a shake. Very well made and it didnt taste overpowering.
Cute little Columbian bakery/cafe where you can sit and enjoy some light breakfast, lunch, coffee and or just some yummie Columbian baked goods! They have a small area where you can also sit outside and enjoy your food! Staff is super friendly and prompt! Very reasonable pricing for baked goods and items on the menu! Btw they also serve light alcoholic beverages you can have with your lunch menu items!
This was my first time here. We came in from out of town and decided to stop by. The food was amazing I had supreme fajitas with the Mrs it was very delicious all throughout. My daughter had the churassco and she is picky and she loved it. The Mother in law had the whole fish which was pretty good I had some. The vibe was chill. Everyone was very nice and respectful. I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend it. A absolute must if you are in town. There were six of us so bill was a bit high but expected. I should have took pics but completely forgot just the menu.
Great place! My waitress spoke mostly Spanish but we were able to figure out how to communicate and order. Everyone was very nice and patient. Food came out in less than 30 minuets. The cafe con leche was my favorite coffee by far.
One of my favorite restaurants in Tampa Bay! The food is phenomenal and they treat us like family. I highly recommend the Bandaja Paisa. In the evenings they turn into a dance club. The drinks are delicious and the music never stops!
Found out about this little hidden gem on Instagram and had to see it for myself. It’s a cool little restaurant inside but when you are taken to the outside portion it’s like traveling back to a small town in Colombia. I visited Salento with my Colombian wife in 2019 and entering the restaurant outside area was like walking back in time. Loved it and ofcourse the food was great!!
Forgot to take a photo of food before eating. But I had enough to take home. Seated pretty quickly and food came quickly as well. Eas seated at s booth, which was a little tight.
Great place for a bandeja paisa. Also, don't forget to order the morcilla and try any of the desserts.
Delicious. Had everything Colombian and more. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food authentic. The service was quick and so nice, helpful. Was brought here by an old friend that lives in the area, highly recommend to go here if you're visiting or living in the Tampa Bay area and desire some good Latino food!
Overall fantastic food and ambiance. The decor is super well done. We ordered the parrillada pequeña, the arepa de choclo, and a mango jugo. Almost everything was fantastic. The arepa de choclo, tasty. The meat, cooked perfect. The chicken was especially fantastic. The only hiccup was the little arepa that comes with the parrillada. It was the worst arepa I've ever had. Still recommend this place for family eats or date nights.
If I could describe this restaurant in one word it would be: Outstanding! I really enjoyed my dining experience here. The empanadas were fantastic and the Paisa Steak dish was as equally impressive. The Colombian baked goods were also very yummy. Also the classic mojito was fire. So impressed overall!
I can confidently say this is the best Colombian food I’ve ever had—even after spending a month in Colombia! There were delightful aromas of freshly brewed coffee and warm baked goods filling the air. Speaking of coffee, it was so delicious that, despite being a “one-cup kinda girl,” I couldn’t resist having another after my meal. It was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The service was just as exceptional as the food. Dara took amazing care of our table, ensuring we had everything we needed while making the experience even more special. She was incredibly patient as we asked about different menu options, and she even let me practice my Spanish with her, which added a personal and cultural touch to the meal. As for the food itself—simply outstanding. I started with freshly baked pan de bonos from the bakery, and they were warm, cheesy, and wonderfully soft inside. For my main course, I enjoyed a classic Colombian-style steak with rice and beans, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Of course, I couldn’t leave without dessert, flan ! The ambiance also added to the experience. With large TVs, this is the perfect spot to catch your favorite game or match. The impressive bar makes it an ideal place to unwind. If you’re looking for truly incredible Colombian food, warm hospitality, and a lively atmosphere, this is the place!
The atmosphere is fun and chill with plenty of TVs to see the latest game. They really updated the restaurant and made it look amazing and festive. The parking is not that great but they can't control that. Just warning you don't go during a really busy time cuz it's hard to find parking. The food is plenty and delicious! They have a variety of Colombian platters and always ask what the special is because they'll have things that are not on the menu. Service was very attentive. Overall me and my mother had a great time hanging out and enjoying the soapa de carne (beef soup that was not on the menu)
This place was AMAZING! For starters the appetizers were out like 2 minutes after asking them. Our entres were also out before we finished our appetizers. The staff was friendly tailored to our needs and waited on us hand and foot. There fajita was the best I’ve ever had in my life! Definitely coming back!
The authenticity of this food is beyond belief. We ate here shortly after the Tampa Zoo. Fresh and delicious. Have to try the cilantro sauce and house hot sauce. The best beans I’ve had in a long time. The waiters were attentive and very friendly, even making suggestions. Room for bigger groups. We had 7 total with us. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic- thank you Alejo (Alex)!
Visiting my brother in Tampa Florida came across this Restaurant/ club, What I like the most about this place is that I notice a lot of security. They were screening people getting in and there were security guards inside as well. Making sure nobody gets out of behavior. The decoration of the place gives such a great atmosphere for great entertainment at night. The music volume was perfect. As soon as you step in your body starts moving, everybody is pretty friendly with everyone else. I didn't go to the restaurant next door but it's also attached to the place as I noticed. This was my first time there and I really enjoyed the little bit of time that I spent there. I noticed the place was pretty clean. There is plenty of parking and it is well lit. I will definitely try again if I'm visiting and I will recommend it to everyone who loves music and dancing to pay a visit.
This is one of my favorite Colombian food restaurants. The service was excellent, the owner and the staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The Food was really good and tasty. They have bakery with some sweet and salty options that you can enjoy with your food or take home with you. The empanadas are very good. I like the ambiance and the inside decoration.
The foosmd always here is Deliciosa. El servicio es excelente y un ambuente acojedor y familiar. I was lucky to get soup today.

Good food good price place looks really nice good service would recommend visiting would recommend
I preface this by saying the 4/5 stars is only because the food came to us cold via Door Dash (not the restaurant's fault), and even then everything was still so good. I can only imagine it fresh onsite at the restaurant. Jugos, yummy! Bistec, yummy! Yuca, arepas, empanadas, tostones, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy! Basically I'm saying if I ever come thru Tampa again, I will go there in person so I can update to 5 stars!
Was invited by our friends for our Anniversary so am not aware of the price paid for dinner. But looking at the menu it looks like each plate was about $20 per person. The food and service was ok our server forgot to give us some things twice someone else helped us. But I agree their soda fountain drinks tasted flat so I ordered water. There were four of us and we didn't feel to comfortable sitting in a crammed table where one can barely move. Recommend next time to move to another table for comfort if possible. As for their Parking area it was not so easy in getting out.
There are lot of options for the people who eat Steak n Pork. I couldn’t order my favorite appetizer Empanadas coz they didn’t have Chicken Empanadas. “Arroz Con Pollo” was delicious. It was one of the best Arroz Con Pollos I ever had. “1/2 Roasted Chicken” is also superb. Loved the presentation too … Well about the service, it was awesome …
When we arrived there were people waiting in line so we joined the line…. Just to find out there was no real line for just two people…. We waited a total of 45 minutes. While in line I called the restaurant 9 times trying to find out if it was reservation only or what…. No answer….. went in and spoke to host who told me 25 minutes… 35 more minutes went by…… then we were seated. Drinks arrived fairly quick but tastes like medicine. Food on the other hand also arrived quick but tasted good. Very loud music so people trying to talk were talking loudly because they could barely hear themselves. Def give it a try at least for the food.
The food here is phenomenal but it only gets four stars because the service isn't the friendliest, it's loud and they take their time serving you. I had the pan de queso, pan de bono (both have cheese), empanadas, sangria and tostones con carne asada and LOVED EVERY SINGLE BITE. Note: If you do not speak Spanish but visit with someone who does, they will defer to the person who speaks Spanish.
Loved the authentic Colombian food at La Pequeña Colombia! The bandeja paisa was huge and packed with flavor, and the empanadas were perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and very authentic. Service was okay—a bit slow when busy, but friendly enough. Definitely worth a visit for the delicious, generous portions.
Absolutely! Here’s a shorter version perfect for Google Reviews: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great food, average service. We had the tostones con carne and mahi-mahi—both were delicious and full of flavor. The coffee was excellent! Service could’ve been better, as the waiter didn’t check back for drink refills, even though the place wasn’t busy. Still, worth a visit for the food!
Most of my visits were in the distant past when they were open for breakfast and closed later than they do now. A very busy place that was always packed and they opened a location nearby selling a different menu of items. In the past, service and management was arrogant and some of the servers bordered on moronic. My son who is grown now, had his most horrible and distasteful birthday meal at this location. I will not go into detail but service and food was atrocious that day. They were so busy that they did not have to care about the customer. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! I finally returned after that fateful day at the insistance of a friend who was homesick for Tamales which they make. The place was empty at noon on Thursday to my surprise. Workers waiting by the door with effusive greetings as we entered. A completely different vibe from years ago. The service and management had changed drastically, very friendly, very attentive and helpful. I guess you become nicer when customers stop coming. My friend ordered Tamales and I had the Arroz con Camarones, an old favorite of mine. The food has always been mostly good and it was very good on this visit. My rice was very flavorful and chock full of succulent shrimp. I felt like it was an entirely different experience. I did not try any this visit but they do have some wonderful pastries and desserts that are a must. Hopefully the new trend of being humble and nice will bring the customers back eventually. There are many wonderful dishes to choose from, a nice location and a small bar. I feel like I can approve of this place once again.
food overpriced and bland, missing authentic flavors. chairs uncomfortable but the decorations are good.

The place is small and quaint. The food is good and the service. However the waiters confused some of our plates and gave us someone else's food. Also the waitress was nice but we were left without any refills and condiments etc.
Used to be better but I guess they're struggling with short of staff and the pandemic. Quality and portions are not the same as before. Salty weird sweet shrimp coctail with smallest pieces of two tostones (they cracked it). No bread served as before, water just if you ask. Poor presentatiom. Meet meter is not for 8 people so $220 is way TOO MUCH! Waited 30 minutes to be seated then rushed to eat and leave! No authentic colombian food but is okay. The ambiance and decoration are nice. Parking is crazy.
I was very surprised by the amount I received for ten dollars. It was major disappointment, they were more like samples, than an actual meal. But the sample taste was still good. The chicharon was cut ( not sure if it was to make it look bigger), I would prefer it professionally cut or just don't cut it at all. Seriously, restaurants need to give you that option.
Entree: I ordered a Mai Mai plate. It came with grilled fish, shrimp, garlic sauce and 2 sides. The garlic sauce with shrimps were really good that if there’s a shrimp plate i definitely recommend! but the fish that i ordered was dry. Maybe it’s better if you specify the temperature of the fish. Bakery: They’ve several pastries at their bar that you can have with some coffee for the morning. I love bakery but I don’t like covered sugar on the pastry and 3/4 Latin pastries are covered with sugar :) anyway I tried croissant with chocolate which could be the simplest of them. I recommend you not to make it warmer because it was as soft and doughy as microwaved. Inside: The decoration of the restaurant makes there warm I like the way they show their culture and flag colors with the lights. Service : staff was nice I came in a busy time and it was only me despite it they gave me a good table and they were polite and can talk English.
I felt it was a bit expensive for what you get. We got Shrimp and Rice ($25), a steak dish and pastries (about $5 each). I prefer the taste of Pisco nearby and the value of La Teresita. The atmosphere and service was nice.
I love Columbian food and this is a go to place when in Tampa. This visit I got the combo plate which was very good and is always a go to for me. The service was absolutely horrible though! Everything from the communication to the fact that we didn’t get one refill during our entire visit and even had to wait ten mins after finishing our meal just to get our check and ring out. I would make another visit and try again, but if the same thing happened it would be a “NO” for me.
Called in an ordered of empanadas. When I arrived 15 mins later to pick up the food was ready and I paid cash. Upon waiting back for my change the person attending took longer than she should have to take the order/ accommodate a group sitting inside. The food was warm but lacked flavor. I’m wouldn’t say it was terrible but good enough to have.
The food was really good and tasty. We like the food but the service wasn't good. The server wasn't friendly and also we have to wait for the refill to of the water until we finished the food

I have been here 3 times and each time the food and service plummets. This recent visit had us wait for just drink orders. The place wasn't even half full, for a 10 minute wait. After we ordered the food came out at a desent time, but the steak smelled awful (as if it was rotten). We were able to eat other parts of the dish, but if it wasn't for the sauces most of it would have been tasteless. Do not plan on going back.
Visited this establishment we ordered two bandaja paisas, empanadas and papas. Food wasn't fresh. We wanted to send everything back. Wouldn't recommend for the price point.
Very poor service, I went for a just soup, I'm needed to wait more than half hour just for a soup, at the end I left without my soup, is very good food but the service stinks

Me and partner visited this place for the first time, my partners food was deliver before me and minutes later I was told that my order didn’t have the sauce that comes on top, so I cancel it, they still brought the plate to me and got 3 dollars off, the plate I ordered was the chicken breast and was dry and hard to even cut the meat, we ordered different stuff from the bakery section and it was cold and very poor flavor. Our bill was over 60.00 dollars and not worth it at all.
The food is great! Second-time visiting. Service was disappointing, the waitress's lack of personality and hospitality seemed to be bother or unhappy. Took my order, delivered my food without saying anything, and just came back for payment she doesn't know how a dine-in experience works. Notice a nice server around the area I was seated from and he was on point checking his tables at all times. I am not coming back but just hands up for those new customers.
I’m pregnant and I was craving their Arroz con pollo so bad. I live like 30 minutes away and my husband went there just for my craving. We get home to only chicken, no rice. We called 15 mins before closing. They asked for pictures and go around saying that they have the Arroz con pollo is in front of them and it has rice. After sending photos they told my husband. “Well, we are close now and don’t open again until Wednesday, so come back Wednesday for a side of rice” Sorry but what kind of customer service is this? They messed up my order and somehow it is my fault and you are offering a side of rice 2 days later. I wish I could leave a 0 star review. The customer service is always 50/50 in this place which I normally don’t care because I only do take out but what a way to ruined someone’s night.
As a Colombian I know what our food should taste like and it was a total disappointment, the beans had no special flavor as ours do and very watery. I had, Lengua en Salsa Criolla, the sauce was colored water unlike a real Salsa Criolla and the Tongue had the water flavored it was actually cooked in, bland. as I took a bite into it it would juice out leaving the tasteless flavor of the meat. My husband had, La Cazuela de Frijoles and asked if he could change the white rice for tostones, the answer was, “No” but he could have it for an additional charge. We did, they were thin, hard, and small. And basically the same for the flavors of the other 3 dishes La Bandeja Paisa and don’t remember the other two but as well not happy. Would we go again, No. Once we mention the place to our daughters and friends they had nothing good to say. The service had attitude and as the waiter brought us the plates he would pass them in front of me over my food instead of taking two steps and serve the other properly and walked away making a comment.
Haven’t been to this restaurant in years .. & I remember why now. It lost quality!! My lunch was 60% beans 5% steak and then the rest! ❌ the server was like rushing me to pay. After a hurricane this was the only place open close by. I wish I would eat the can of beans I had at home. 2 meals, 2 small drinks. $75 check! I won’t be back!
I won't bore you with a long storie. 3 times here 3 bad experiences.Im not a Karen I know things happen and people go through things so i always give a couple chances. But 3 ? Yea im done.I asked for 2 soda waters. And I was charged $10 for them. I asked the waiter why was my water more then my meal he shrugged his shoulders and said that's the price.I told him I did not feel good about paying $10 for 2 soda waters. They could care less. These waiters are robotic and even make you feel your beneath them at times unless your spending big bucks then they cater to you with smiles. The food is decent but obviously prices are a lil to inflated. I ordered two appetizer. While I think about what to order as my main meal. But didn't even get to that part. I left and won't be back. So if you have money to blow and like getting treated like your beneath people your welcome to come...dont say I didnt warn you..lol
After 20 minutes, no one came to our table in an almost empty restaurant at lunchtime. The waitress was standing there, watching the dining room and doing nothing. We left.
The waitress that serviced our table of four had an attitude towards me (the only Spanish female of our party). I kept having staff come out from the back to laugh in my face while they watched me eat my Shrimp Ceviche which made me feel that they did something to my food JUST BECAUSE SHE FELT LIKE IT. NEVER GO THERE. THEY WILL LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOUR BENEATH THEM FOR WHATEVER REASON THEY CAN COME UP WITH.
Service is poor there is none hospitality from the staff one server came up to the table didn’t even say hi we asked her for water never came back again , the server that came after had no interest either also the arepa was tiny and most of our food was cold the only thing that I would recommend is the steak sancocho but take it to go it’s such a nice place we expected way more
Walked in and made eye contact with a lady with glasses who may have been busy because she went to the back of the restaurant and I was waiting to be seated. Thank goodness the older lady behind the bakery counter was nice enough to seat me. I was greeted by a waitress with long curly hair who took my order. She may have been covering for another waitress because she passed me off to a different waitress who dealt with me the remainder of my lunch. What I noticed that anyone white or Spanish that came in after was greeted and properly attended to, The lady with the glasses were greeting them and bringing them to their table with a smile. Not once did she acknowledge me. Now the waitress that I was passed off to was great but the overall experience with the restaurant was bad. I’m from the Caribbean and love to show love to Latin restaurants but I won’t repeat at this place. The overall service is terrible unless you’re white or Spanish.
Another one of the places that I've noticed that don't do too well catering to dinner guest who are NOT spanish. The Service Sucked, the Atmosphere was NOT welcoming to my party and Me and The Food was Horrible. The Shrimp was Burnt. The Tostones were cold and the steak was tough and very fatty. I Will Never go there again (and wouldn't recommend this place to any NON-Hispanic guests).

Albans' Colombian Heartbeat: A Visit to La Pequeña
Albans has a quiet charm, and nestled within it is La Pequeña, a spot that’s been popping up in conversations among friends who crave a taste of Latin America. I recently stopped by to see what the buzz was about, and it's certainly a place with a distinct personality.Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by a beautiful, vibrant atmosphere. The decorations are a true visual feast, painting a colorful picture that transports you far from Albans. While a few folks have mentioned the chair
