This place is always busy on weekends and first thing that came to mind, the food must be Good!!! I went today and got chicken and shrimp empanadas and dulse de batata, it was alllll Delicious! and you get a good size of empanada for what you pay which was like 3.50.The ladys are very nice and sweet. It was late and I was frantic for food...I drove in because it was pretty close. Staff, the patrons, all very good people. I felt bad walking in because I couldn't communicate so great in Spanish but thanks to their gorgeous patient waitress,. She took my vegetarian order with a hesitation. I order about 6 empanadas. Ate a little in the car they were so fresh and hot and tasty.. they barely made it home. I'm not a meat eater but I bet money your getting out of here with something homemade...

We loved the empanadas! Had chicken & cheese, beef, pepperoni, bacon & cheese and they were all delicious. The pastry is excellent. We also had the desert empanadas , Nutella & cheese, guava & cheese and pineapple & cheese. The pineapple one is my favorite. Will definitely be a regular. This was our first time and the staff was helpful and friendly.

I grew up on homemade empanadas plus tasting the best ones from the authentic spots in Queens, NY . This is the absolute closest I’ve come to tasting like those back in NYC. Their shrimp empanadas are the BEST. Seasoned perfectly and worth the price. They’ve gained a loyal customer.

After our terrible experience at another place our group decided to go to Mama's Empanadas pretty late at night. We got really good service from the moment we walked in the door. We got seated in the patio where we ordered a couple drinks and bites to share. We told the server it was my husband's birthday and they took the time to do a little celebration for him which we really appreciated. All the bites we got to share were delicious and hot fresh! Drinks are fairly priced and I just love their patio atmosphere. They have a DJ on the weekends and they play cool music! I will definitely be back to try the empanadas!

I ordered through Uber Eats yesterday. I was craving REAL Dominican empanadas so I thought to give this place a try based on the reviews. It's good for Gwinnett county. It's overpriced. My sister had the vegan option vegetales y queso and its $4.50 for 1 empanada. She wasn't wowed or impressed, just satisfied. The Tartitas de Plantano was worth $10 but I ordered ceviche and got chicken so that killed the mood. It was still good. The chulitos are really good but $3 for 1 was ridiculous. The meat isn't tasty enough for that. The Pollo and Res (ground beef) are both $4.50 way too expensive for 1 empanada that was ok. I think because so much flavor missing from this area that the slightest bit of seasoning and freshness excites us. These tastes like somebody's aunt makes them the best in her family. I've had better empanadas 🤷🏾‍♀️

The empanadas were real delicious, especially the chicken and cheese. Had a gathering there with music blasting and everyone having a good time. Reason why I didn't give it 5 stars, the place was real small.

I went on a Saturday afternoon around 5:30. Very spacious inside, the outdoor seating section is really nice. We were seated promptly upon entering, and the waitress was polite. I ordered the Mega Empanada and a Coke, and the empanada was really good. I recommend it.

They were nice and attentive, however, they were slow getting the empanadas out. And the beef empanadas weren't seasoned well at all.

Food was just ok. The chicken empanada was a bit dry and and the sauce that came with it was underwhelming. So far the spinach and cheese and guava empanadas were good.

I went twice. Both were after the opening time and both times there was no food displayed. Gotta have the food ready when you say you are gonna be open or open at 11am.

This was just not what I expected…there was a smoky hooka lounge area that made the whole place smell bad. The empanadas were freshly cooked. The chicken and street corn one was the best, but the sweet empanadas were not good at all. Maybe empanadas are just not my thing

The empanadas were good but the lady that took my order was rude and overcharged me. Since it was my first time and I didn't know any better I even left a tip. I won't be back for a while. I don't know if there's a "not a Dominican" tax in the area but it sure feels like it for no reason. Especially when I'm extra nice to them.

Love their empanada but when I went in today, and spent $13 on two empanadas, the cashier told me it would be an extra $2 for an additional empanada sauce. She initially only gave me one.

Food tastes great, environment feels more like a night club than a restaurant. But the prices are extremely high and not worth. Great food but not worth the price.

We went up to the counter and no one said anything. we tried to order and they still weren’t saying anything.. Bad service. This review is for her catering services, I ordered a large catering order for my 130 person wedding on 3/3/2023 , specifically depending on Fanny for my cocktail hour. When the time of my order came around nothing was made , her excuse was she made a mistake on her end and had the date for saturday instead of Friday. As a bride she ruined a huge part of my wedding , causing my wedding guests to eat donut holes during cocktail hour . Fanny eventually arrived with my order and was very apologetic according to my wedding party and team. My biggest issue is that we have been attempting to contact her several times Because she promised 50% refund since it was her mistake and we are being ghosted . There is no way I can reccommend anyone to a someone who runs her business in such manner , doesnt matter how good her food is. I have been nice and patient waited 2.5 months to actually review this business because I was still trying to process the fact that she handled a wedding order in this fashion. Thanks but no Thanks to little Ms Empanada Mama.

First and last time going into this place. Just asked for 2 empanadas and small juice and bill was 17 dollars!!!! You don’t use not even the third part of a chicken breast to make 1 empanada, cheese it’s so cheep and don’t even talk about the juice which is not natural that’s pulp and 5 dollars for a small one!!! That’s exaggerated never ever coming here!!!!

After complaining about my cold empanada, she proceeded to charge me for it at the register. If I didn’t speak up I would’ve been charged. Me and my gf each ordered one and hers came out fresh 10 mins later. When asked why mine was cold, she proceeded to say that hers was cooking longer, which was a lie. I can tell I got leftovers. The prices at the register did not match the menu and I paid more than I should have still. The atmosphere was unwelcoming when walking in. No regards or manners for a proper dining experience. We ended up losing our appetites because it started getting too awkward. Will never come back. Pictured is the yugao fries with chicken that they sell.

Food was terrible. Beef had a horrible aftertaste, everything was cold and the pastry shells were rubbery, not hot and crunchy. We asked for ice waters but were charged for bottled water. I see so many good reviews but we had nothing good from our experience. Won't be back.
