What a great bar. Owner Joe and bartender Korine (sp?) were awesome, welcoming and attentive! Great tap selection. Cool vibe and laid back crowd. Dog friendly. Definitely checking this place out again while in town.

Absolutely love this place. Amazing whiskey & beer selection. Delicious cocktails which use primarily fresh ingredients. A true gem, don’t let the dive bar look fool you, this place rivals some of the best drink wise!
Yanni is awesome! A terrific neighborhood bar!
Outstanding Pub owned by a phenomenal local of Albany with great beer and service. Highly recommend!
Surprisingly deep bar. Fantastic environment. At 2:30am on a Friday, it was not full of college kids. Would definitely come here again.
I’ve found my “Cheers!” Yes I’m showing my age with that reference - 80’s babyyyy - but this dive bar is IT! This place has some of the best cocktails I’ve had, easily rivaling overpriced drinks in Manhattan - shout out to Tom! If you have no idea what you want to drink, no worries, talk to the bartenders, they’ll help you, might even whip up something creative on the spot. Monday nights belong to Brian the bacon guru, baby I eat pork again when I roll up here on a Monday (I pay for it later too, well worth it, lol). The patrons are some of the most diverse and amazingly chill group of folks I’ve encountered since moving from the multicultural NYC life - Bx to be exact - to the parts up yonder. The owner, Joe, is one of the kindest humans, and honey like attracts like, because his team definitely match his energy, they are hands down, some of my favorite people up here! Special shout out to Victoria & Corrine ❤️! When you go, chill hard, enjoy big, and tip OD!
The best chill bar in town. Great service, creative cocktails, and a great atmosphere! Always my first choice when going out!
Joe, Tom, and the rest of the crew are the absolute best! My favorite bar hands down! These guys always make you feel welcomed
The guys who run this place are definitely beer fans. The selection is awesome and it's constantly rotating but it's not all high end beer snob stuff either. You can grab a PBR and watch the game too. The bartenders are very attentive. The atmosphere is friendly. There's even a "world beer tour" tracking program (the same one from Mahar's if you're familiar with the area) that keeps track of how many beers you've tried at the place and what beers are on premises that you haven't tried yet. And there are rewards for achieving certain numbers of beers. Another great thing about this place is that you can get 10 Oz glasses if you don't want a full pint of something. All around great bar.
If you like Beer the Allen Street Pub is a must. Always two or three casks and 20 + beers on tap and a ton of bottles and cans! Lots of stuff you won't find at other places. Really knowledgeable staff. Veteran-owned business..
This is a great place for draft beer and great atmosphere nice mixed drink selection top shelf liquor great bartender friendly. What an upgrade nice big screens for sports and menus
Best bar in Albany. If you drink beer somewhere else in Albany, stop going there and go to Allen St. Best craft beer selection this side of the Rocky Mountains. TouchTunes jukebox, darts and board games. No food served, but you can get food from some of the grab-and-go places right around the corner and bring it in. The best bartender in Northeast America works on Thursday and Saturday. His name: Joe. Play him a Pearl Jam song and he will show you his belly button.

A diamond in the rough! Always finding myself in enjoyable conversations with a delicious beverage in hand… what is better than that? A gem of an establishment, with a local/ dive / cozy feel.

They don't have a kitchen so you're allowed to bring your own food in and a pizza shop is like 40 yards away. It has very respectful clientele for the working class right near St Peter's Hospital 🍻
No bartender wasn't his friendly as the old one
Atmosphere is great and the staff is extremely friendly. I had a drink that was extremely sweet. It was a new one on the menu. The bartender offered and remade it to make sure I was happy with the taste.
The spiritual successor to Mahar's (they have 'the list', most of the taps, some of the 'regulars attitude' which I never minded, but some are put off by). They seem to have the largest cask selection going and the beer list has been good. They even have the option for Anton's delivery, which is a nice bonus.

This is only as it relates to the cask beer. The first one I tried was bad, 'end of the cask' the bartender said after I brought it to his attention (and he tasted it). Odd, I thought, for a 'Cask Marque' designated place -- then I saw that status had expired, according to the Cask Marque plaque on their front door no less, Jan 31, 2018. They should take the sign down. The replacement was ok but I wonder how fresh it was. I'm sure it's a great local bar for the late night crowd, and it does have a lot of beers to offer but unfortunately the cask was not well kept this time.

The bar tender only served me and my friend’s boyfriend and refused to serve us and kept giving us nasty looks. Then we asked for water to go and she took a beer bottle from another patrons mouth to give water to us in. Disgusting.
My experience there was very traumatic the racism is hidden through kindness there is a bartender there named Adam Who is very racist. he immediately asks for tips from black people as soon as they are served one drink to start confrontation he alone runied my experience at Allen st pub
Me and my buddies got off an Uber to go get a beer. Two of them walked into the bathroom and the bar tender walked in on them accusing stuff when nothing happened. We had two people of color and one was in the bathroom. We were in the bar for literally two seconds. Bar tender told us to leave so we left. As soon as we walked outside five guys walked out and “tried to cool things down”. They were not, they were trying to start stuff because we had two buddies that were black.
