Food is delicious - we got the ribs, the oxtail and the Brooklyn Love cocktail. All great. Atmosphere on the 2nd floor is even nicer than the ground floor (mood, decor, lighting). Loved it! Will come back.

Everything was so delicious. Great Lychee Mojito, we asked for easy simple syrup and it was fantastic. Had the ribs, the goat puff pastry and jerk chicken entree. All phenomenal and everyone was so nice.

My friend who lives in Brooklyn recommended this place, and her and I went there on a whim on a Saturday night with no reservation around 6pm. The hostess was able to secure a table for us that we held for about 2 and a half hours when we previously thought we’d have to come up with a plan B. I’m super thankful to her for squeezing us in on such short notice. The restaurant is easily accessible from the train. I’d recommend taking the G train if you can, but if you’re coming from Connecticut like I was, you can take the 4 from Grand Central to Nevins St. From there, it’s an easy fifteen minute walk. Good way to burn off the calories. I arrived about 20 minutes before 6 and had a seat at the bar. I had a Mango Bae cocktail to start, which was absolutely fantastic. It was sweet and tangy, and had a great punch from the dark rum. Be warned that the drinks here were STRONG, which I had no problem with. We got seated and both of us ordered lychee mojitos which were strongly recommended by the bartender who served me the Mango Bae. Very fruity and sweet, a little bit floral, and yet again pretty strong. To start we ordered the goat puff pastry, which was so tender and so flavorful. Both of us loved it, although we weren’t expecting to get one big pastry, but we made it work. For my main, I ordered the red snapper, which came deep fried with a green sauce that was to die for. The fish was flaky and flavorful, and combined with the sauce was a highlight for me. I ordered mine with a side of saffron potatoes which came roasted with some kind of sauce or aioli, which again was very flavorful and only served to elevate the dish upon which it was placed. My friend ordered the oxtail with a side of rice and pigeon peas. We tried each other’s dishes and both liked them. The oxtail was super tender and very flavorful. I didn’t try the rice and peas but she liked them all the same. To finish we had a mango puff pastry, which came with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. It was solid and not nearly as heavy as I thought it was going to be, a perfect way to end the night. In total our bill came to around $221 with tax and tip. The food and service was outstanding. Our server, whose name escapes me, was kind and attentive. I remember they had a shaved head. I hope they know how great of an experience they provided us. My only minor gripes were that the red snapper was very bony, which didn’t kill it for me but definitely made eating a little tedious. The food was quite pricey ($36 for the snapper and $45 for the oxtail) but not outrageous given the amount of food they provide you with, and the prices aren’t out of the realm of possibility for an upscale restaurant in NYC. Also, I did not expect to be charged for the water they provided us. In hindsight, I should have realized the water served in glass bottles was not going to be free, so that’s more on me. However, none of these gripes ultimately detracted from the overall experience. I will definitely be back sometime soon, and I will absolutely make a reservation next time. I was extremely pleased with the service and the food, and this will be a great place to take any visitors I get from out of town.

Came up to NYC from Baltimore and my friend told me I had to try this place. Loved the vibe here, good music, server gave us Prosecco because my friend just passed her bar exam , which was such a genuine gesture. The Chef presented our branzino personally. This place closes early so we went for an extra round of cocktails at this cute little bar across from the restaurant which I recommend their cocktails were also good. I would def come next time I’m in NYC.

Great food and drinks. Everything was full of flavor I couldn’t stop eating. Coming back very soon

The ox tail and jerk chicken meals were great. I don't know what the little dry air fried discs of dough were that accompanied the jerk chicken, but I wish I had been give the option for the yummy rice and peas my friend had with her meal. Our cocktails were one hit and one miss. Overall, I would HAPPILY return to this cozy spot better informed about what / how to order.

A Flavor Revolution in Fort Greene and Culinary Brilliance Brooklyn, say hello to the new champion of flavor town—Mango Bay in Fort Greene is a game changer, finally bringing the bold, vibrant flavors of Modern Afro-Caribbean cuisine to the neighborhood. My wife surprised me with a birthday dinner for my 55th, and from the moment we stepped inside, it was clear we were in for something extraordinary. The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in an atmosphere that is both warm and elegantly welcoming. The earthy greens, rattan textures, and golden accents create an inviting space that feels both upscale and deeply connected to Caribbean heritage. From the first bite, it was evident—Chef London Chase is elevating Caribbean cuisine to a whole new level. His playful approach to flavors and textures made for a palate-exploding experience. • The appetizers set the tone—each bite packed with layered, complex, and perfectly balanced flavors. • The main dishes? Mouthwatering, soul-warming, and deeply satisfying. Every plate showcased the rich traditions of the Caribbean while pushing boundaries with modern twists. • And the drinks—both original and classic, each cocktail was crafted to perfection, whispering a subtle yet persistent “please order another one” with every sip. After the first bite, my wife and I had already started planning our next reservation. Mango Bay isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a movement, and a much-needed addition to Brooklyn’s culinary scene. And of course, the hospitality didn’t stop there. Executive Chef London Chase took the time for a photo op, and when he found out I was celebrating my birthday, he surprised me with an incredible dessert—a true gesture of love and community. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the exceptional service. A special shoutout to our incredible waiter, Delani, who was welcoming, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive—he truly made my birthday experience a joy! Delani, you’re a star! If you’re looking for bold flavors, elevated Caribbean cuisine, and an atmosphere that feels like home, Mango Bay is it. Chef London Chase, Delani, and the entire Mango Bay team—we salute you! Brooklyn has been waiting for a spot like this!

I have had Mango Bay on my Want To Go list and finally tried it. I had an amazing dining experience so I had to leave a review. Great menu - solid variety, the perfect amount to select from so you’re not overwhelmed, and the price for value. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat which is a good thing because everything looked so appetizing. The amount of options makes it easy to force your hand and commit, another good thing because you don’t want to spend a ton of time deliberating between which dish. I think going with a friend is meh so you can sample what they decide to get or straight split. Finally, it’s so refreshing when your meal arrives and it’s larger in portion than anticipated. It truly makes you want to spend more at an establishment because it’s rare in NYC. You have to go outside of NYC for that and then you end up over ordering because you’re expecting so little food. Anyway, the food was delicious. The Ackee and salt fish and callaloo spring rolls were honestly perfect. Loved how the chef paired it with the scotch bonnet aioli for a nice kick. That’s a must try app in my opinion. The bartenders took such great care of me. I ordered a lychee mojito (loved) which was on menu but you can order a lychee martini which is not on the menu. One of the bartender’s concocted a lychee margarita which is the pink drink in my photo and that was really yummy. I hope the chef decides to add it as a special or put in seasonal rotation if it doesn’t make the menu. Finally I got oxtail with rice and peas and a side of plantain for a side. So good, so filling. The meat falling off the bone. The only reason I wouldn’t order this again is because I want to try the jerk hen or snapper! But this is really such a good dish that I enjoyed! Anyway, this spot is gorgeous and we’re booked up with reservations so I can only imagine how busy they will be this summer. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

I go out to eat a lot, and this is my favorite restaurant of the year thus far. Everything except for the sorrel cheesecake was so good. The drinks were good, the service was great, the ambience was nice, you have to get the ras & pas, you cannot leave without getting that. I cannot wait to come back, it’s now my goal to try every single thing they have on the menu because it was just that good.

Last night I took my date to Mango Bay for a late Valentine's Day dinner, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was fantastic, and the food was nothing short of incredible. If you're reading this review and are anything like me ("for these prices, this food better be worth it"), do not hesitate to come here - it is worth it. I had let them know I'd be asking my date to be my girlfriend in our reservation note, and the staff went above and beyond for us: they brought us a pastry and two glasses of champagne to end the night - on the house. Mango Bay, you earned two lifelong customers in my now-girlfriend and I last night. We will definitely be back, and we'll be telling our friends and family they need to come here as well. Thank you so much for helping make a special night even more special.

Checked out this new restaurant for dinner last night. I’m not usually a huge fan of Caribbean food, but this was next level everything starting from cocktails to appetizers to main course to dessert was absolutely phenomenal. All the weight staff is wonderful and kind no pretentiousness. Loved the space upstairs and can’t wait to see what they do for spring summer when it warms out. Their outdoor seating will be super unique and viby.

Mango Bay is an absolute gem! The Afro-Caribbean menu is layered and inventive—every dish is bursting with flavor and soul. The drinks? Phenomenal. Service is quick, warm, and thoughtful, and the staff makes you feel instantly at home. Elevated, vibrant, and unforgettable. A must visit, a modern classic.

Mango Bay My partner and I came here for Valentine’s Day. We came for an early dinner at 5pm (due to reservations later in the week ending) which happenings to be when they open. We were promptly and warmly greeted upon arrival. Our server ensured to inquire about food allergies and the chef accommodated or dietary restrictions. SPECIALTY COCKTAIL 8/10 CUPID'S KISS RHUBARB, STRAWBERRY, LEMON, EGG WHITE, WHISKEY Amuse Bouche 8/10 Raw oyster with beautifully layered flavors. I don’t know how you make chili oil, pineapple, and oyster taste good together, but the chef succeeded! Hamachi Crudo 10/10 Absolutely no notes. An immaculate blend of flavors. The yellow tail was sliced perfectly and seemed to melt on my tongue. Jerk Caesar Salad 5/10 While advertised as “Jerk” the salad lacked any evidence jerk seasoning, sauce, or marinated protein. This anchovy forward dressing overpowered everything else—except the thick stalks still attached to each cluster of lettuce. SCALLOPS IN SAUCE AMÉRICAINE FENNEL, CHICKPEA PUREE 8.5/10 Incredibly beautiful presentation. The sear was textbook-crisp enough for dynamic flavor and the cut ire. ACKEE & SALTFISH EGGROLL 8.85 The egg roll was so good the sauce salary felt like an unnecessary accompaniment SUYA RUB 8OZ WAGYU STEAK 8/10 POMME PUREE. PIKLIZ LOBSTER RAS & PASTA 8.25/10

Just stopped by Mango Bay without booking ahead, and we lucked out! The host welcomed our party of 3 with open arms. The staff's warm smiles made us feel right at home. We devoured the egg rolls, ribs, and seafood pasta - presentation and taste were both on point. Already planning our next visit. A fantastic new spot in the neighborhood!

Love this restaurant so much! My friends and I came here to celebrate our friend’s birthday and we had such a great time. The drinks were really good, if you love Lychee they have a few choices I def recommend trying. Our server was so sweet and made sure that the birthday girl felt special. If you’re looking for a vibe, I 100% recommend! The oxtail falls off the bone it’s so tender. Make sure you ask to sit upstairs the table by the window is the best!

Fort Greene’s got another banger of a restaurant. In a neighborhood that is constantly producing some of the best restaurants in NYC, it’s hard to set yourself apart. Mango Bay does exactly that. It’s been open for just two weeks but the food, the service and overall ambiance was absolutely spectacular. The food is both elegant and comforting — a balance that’s so hard to find. The staff was super friendly and we met one of the owners, David, who couldn’t have been more thankful. The attention to detail in the food was undeniable with the sweet, smoky tomato based sauce with a touch of scotch bonnet pepper that they served on the side of the burger. Just wow! Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. This place is going to become a staple here in NYC

I have to say, the food and service were absolutely outstanding! I took my aunt out for her birthday, and we were both blown away. I started with the mango bae, which was delicious, and the Caesar salad for starters—everything was made from scratch. The hint of anchovy paired with the sweetness of the mango was so well thought out. The prawns were simply incredible, and the salmon was delightful. It’s definitely worth a night out! I can’t wait to come back—I'm already thinking about visiting twice a week! What made the night even more special was when I asked to speak with the chef, and he came out to chat about food. I also gave him some well-deserved flowers! Gingercooksnyc

Visited Mango Bay for a birthday dinner last month. For most of us in attendance, this was our first experience trying African dishes and it did not disappoint. The Jollof rice was amazing! As a curious bunch thanks to our server Lavinia very attentive and recommended great entree and drink options we really enjoyed, she was great! The ambiance had a nostalgic feel, just a serene and cozy energy. The birthday girl was so pleased by our choice to come here. 100/10 for the food and experience we will definitely be back!

MANGO BAY : my new favorite Brooklyn restaurant! After four visits in just one week, I can confidently say—I’m officially a regular! Located in a space that’s seen many restaurants come and go, Mango Bay finally feels like the one that will stick! This vibrant, Caribbean-inspired gem breathes new life into the neighborhood. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the food? It’s a full-on embrace for your soul. Chef London Chase has crafted an exceptional Caribbean fusion menu, and his partner—Beverage Director Shamah Levy Devonish —perfectly complements it with a standout cocktail program. Don’t sleep on the Mango Bae, Calypso Old Fashioned, or The London Chase —each one is Instagram-worthy and packed with flavor. The service here is top-tier— elevated, thoughtful, and on par with fine dining. Many of the team members come from Michelin-rated restaurants, and you feel it in every interaction. Here’s what I’ve devoured so far: Appetizers: Char-Grilled Octopus, Pomegranate-Glazed Ribs, Hamachi Crudo, Fried Whole Hen, Goat Puff Pastry Mains: Jerk Burger, Braised Oxtail, Mango Curry Australian King Prawns (a must!), Ras & Pasta (A FAVORITE!) Sides: ALL OF THEM. Trust me. Dessert: The Sorrel Cheesecake is next-level indulgence —pure bliss. The playlist is a vibe. The patrons are a vibe. The bar and bartenders are a vibe. And now that Spring has sprung, that corner on Dekalb and Adelphi will be the vibe for summer 2025! Special shoutout to Adrian, Jocelyn, Jewel, Jah, Paz, Mario, Ty, Mimi, and the entire team— hospitality excellence at its finest! Their energy, attention to detail, and genuine care elevated each visit. No need to trek to Manhattan for elevated Caribbean cuisine or the best prawns in NYC — Mango Bay delivers a five-star dining experience right here in Brooklyn. This is more than a meal. It’s a vibe. It’s a movement. MANGO BAY is the real deal!

Appetizer: Grilled Octopus Main: Mango Curry w/King Prawn Salad: Caesar Salad Drink: Mango Baby Mocktail Best octopus we ever had possibly. Tender, perfectly seasoned, flavorful and charred on the outside. Buratta cheese and cauliflower puree were delectable additions along with the greens in a butter sauce. Mmm. Everything really was delightful. Will be back. Highly recommend

From the moment we walked into Mango Bay, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly made our experience exceptional was the incredible hospitality of the owner and staff. The service was beyond outstanding—every detail was taken care of with such attentiveness that we felt like honored guests rather than just customers. The food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was bursting with flavor, fresh ingredients, and that perfect balance of spices that kept us wanting more. And then came the delicious shots—a generous and thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable. The extra attention, personal touches, and genuine hospitality truly set Mango Bay apart from any other dining experience. A huge thank you to the owner and team for making our visit so special. We will definitely be back, and we’ll be recommending Mango Bay to everyone we know!

First I want to thank Muta for the stellar service from start to finish……he was an outstanding server. Muta was friendly, greeted us with a very warm smile, he was informative and gave some great suggestions on a few of the starters and the main course options. Mango bay sits on a corner with really nice window seats (yes we snagged one of those seats). Sorry I didn’t get the hostess name (blonde hair and petite) very friendly and understanding considering the traffic was horrendous and we showed up a bit late. The starters we selected……the ackee and saltfish eggrolls, the chargrilled octopus and goat puff pastry. I never had goat before and Muta nailed it when he said it was excellent. Tender, succulent and perfectly seasoned meat (but be careful there was a thin piece of bone but I didn’t crack a tooth). The chargrilled octopus was absolutely perfect (the palm oil purse had some kick to it but in a good way). The main course the other parties selected the jerk burger with fries (never had round fries but they were to die for). The guys loved the burgers and raved about the jerk spice on them. I chose the Mango curry Australian king prawns (2) juice, perfectly cooked with the perfectly matched suya spice and lemon grass oil. The dish had a side of rice (I normally don’t eat rice but tried a few spoonfuls and it was the perfect accompaniment with the prawns. This establishment was busy but not overbearing with customers…..a perfectly run operation from beginning to end. I only wish I lived in Brooklyn so I could come more often.

Went with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and we loved every minute of it. It was super busy, so the service was slower than expected, but the restaurant made up for it by giving us a bunch of free drinks. We got a ton of unexpected discounts too because some of the pre-fixed menu items ran out. The chef was super accommodating and our waitress was such a sweetheart. The food was incredibly and you can tell the chef loves what he does / really cares for his customers. We are very excited to go back and continue supporting this business! And they’re Black-owned (love to see it!!!).

Mango Bay is a must-try! We didn't have a reservation, but they were incredibly accommodating and found us a table. The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The Goat Puff pastry was delicious, and the Ackee and Saltfish egg rolls with the dip were mouthwatering. The Oxtail with vegetables and rice was incredible, and the Ras and Pasta was also fantastic. The drinks were great, and the service was top-notch. Adam, our server, was amazing! We truly couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love this place. The menu and mix of Caribbean flavors and spice was on point and the hollow and jerk chicken was sooooo good. Maliaue was our server and it was my son’s bday so he took extra special care of us and was super dope. He helped me through the menu and his suggestion for the jerk chicken with mango was top tier. Thank you and I’ll definitely be coming back. Brooklyn is on the map as it should always be!!!

The food, ambiance and service was top tier. Such a cute a cozy restaurant with the brownstone feel. I would definitely come back. (I clearly started eating before taking this video because the food smelled so good. Please excuse the half eaten chicken leg lol). I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas. The festival bread wasn’t sweet like the kind I had in Jamaica, but maybe it’s one of those things that depends on the taste of the chef; it was still good.

As I'm sitting here now .I must write this review. Omg this food 🤤, omg the vibe , omg watching the chef cook.... Chef you so dope. Tracy our waitress is amazing and knowledgeable of the menu. I have never fell in love with a restaurant like right now. The pepper shrimp and salmon was caught in the ocean and cooked right after. The oxtails.... Listennn. I ordersisome to go home with. The lamb, the mussels , The sorrel. Bite after Bite is a party in my mouth. I wanted to gate keep but I can't . I can't believe lines are not done the block.... If y'all don't support this restaurant but make sure you save a seat for me.wait and I got to meet the chef that was the best part. So talented and humble. It's a win win

This place was a culinary delight with a relaxed atmosphere. Make a reservation, but we were fortunate enough to walk in. They have a charming small dining area downstairs, seating outdoors on the patio, and an upstairs. Our waiter was incredibly kind and patient, considering it was our first visit. As an appetizer, we indulged in the ribs, which were absolutely amazing! They came with a side of guacamole that added a delightful touch. To start our main course, we opted for the Caesar salad, which was generously topped with three huge, delicious grilled prawns. The steak was the special for tonight, and it was accompanied by a flavorful chimichurri sauce and a delectable sauce. The potatoes complemented the steak perfectly, making it a truly divine dish. To end our meal, we savored the frozen cocktail, which was a great starter. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was truly memorable, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delicious and relaxed dining experience.

I had my eye on this restaurant for sometime now! I knew it had something going on and didn’t know until we visited it! We had a small celebration and chose Mango Bay! The best choice we could have ever made. You must or should make reservations if you have a good size group. We are five. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We are more of the indoor type. As we entered you are greeted by the host and see a large Bar against the back wall. We were taken up a spiral staircase to our seats on the second level, which over looks Dekalb and Adelphi avenue. So, this restaurant is in a corner brownstone and the interior and settings are just amazing. As I mention the views of the neighborhood from the second level is just stunning as we as the decor. Very comfortable seating. The food… The food is just amazing! It was a Caribbean style menu. I would have to call it a very upscale Jamaican style cuisine. Everything was just amazing! The dishes to choose from and all the flavors were just spectacular! They have some signature drinks, but I have a special drink I always drink! The Bar will not and does not disappoint! This is one of those places that may be on my goto list forever… I highly recommend!

You can taste passion, the time and effort, the creative process it took to craft everything that comes to your table. I was very impressed. Everything I ordered was CHEFS KISS. NO COMPLAINTS. The vibe was chill, they played a good mix of music from r&b to afrobeats, the staff was friendly and informative and if you had any questions regarding the menu, they would explain it clearly. The bartenders were back there like chemist concocting drinks that were also as great as the food. HANDS DOWN!!!! THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IVE EATEN THIS YEAR. THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT CULINARY EXPERIENCE. 💪🏾💯👏

First time coming here people kept recommending it so I finally pulled up. I had a great time. The server was nice and they gave good food recommendations, which I enjoyed it all. It is a real intimate setting, so make sure you make reservations. But definitely worth the visit.

I went here over the summer and it was an absolute 10/10 in terms of food, the service we got from our hostess and bartenders, as well the general vibe. The goat puff pastry is an absolute must if you visit! The cocktails could definitely be a bit stronger, my friend and I both thought we accidentally got virgin drinks but they fixed it immediately.

Our experience at Mango Bay was extraordinary. Muta, our server, provided impeccable service, and Chef Maugette’s special tuna was exquisite. General Manager Danielle went above and beyond to celebrate my husband’s birthday, graciously offering complimentary drinks, the chef’s special, and champagne. The combination of exceptional cuisine, thoughtful service, and warm hospitality made for an unforgettable evening. We are looking forward to returning to this wonderful restaurant.

We had an incredible experience here at Mango Bay but with some strange inconsistencies that almost made me make this a 4-star review. Starting with the cocktails, Mango Bae and Lychee Mojito were both great, with notes of spices and vanilla and tasty rum, I cannot imagine a better cocktail even though I am not a big cocktail person. For starters we had the goat puff pastry and it is a full 5-star dish, very savory goat meat and amazing airy puff pastry. For the main dishes we had the braised oxtail which for me was the star of the night. I would recommend it to anyone as it is so flavorful and tasty! The gravy pairs exceptionally with the rice coming with the dish and it is a completely perfect dish. We also had the seafood pasta with mussels and clams which was creamy and the shrimps in the pasta were the best I ever had. My only complaint about this dish was nowhere in the menu it was said to be spicy. I have a very low spice tolerance but we ate all of it while burning anyways. For desert we got the citrusy rum cake which was good especially the ice cream scoop and the caramel sauce. It had a good citrusy flavor and chewy texture. I also enjoyed the atmosphere and the beautiful wallpapers and design along with the amazing choice of the utensils. Hats off! Now here comes the main complaint of the night for me: I am very much against the concept of “included gratuity” for parties of under 4-5. Wether it is a great restaurant like here or a bad one, I would gladly tip the 20% or more myself if I enjoy a dining such as this one, but when it becomes included, while we were a party of 2, it becomes kind of annoying and feels like a ripoff to me. The bartender even gave us a complimentary cocktail (probably because I was gnawing on the oxtail bones so enthusiastically) and it felt so special but this included gratuity was such a big turn-off for me. I tried not to let it ruin the experience for me as this was one of the most satisfying and enjoyable dining experiences I ever had in Brooklyn and in Caribbean cuisine. I hope this gets fixed and I will definitely go back for another amazing meal!

I am so incredibly impressed with mango bay. It was my first time attending the restaurant and the service, the food, the vibe completely blew me out of the water. We ordered the pomegranate ribs, the ackee and salt fish egg rolls, and the jerk chicken. The food was so good I only got in two photos before it was devoured. Fantastic. Looking forward to my next visit.

Wow. One of the best meals I’ve had all year. Great service in a beautiful brownstone. The lychee mojito good but the grand bay was phenomenal. Now the appetizers are a must. All outstanding. The props shrimp and Johnny cakes 10 billion stars. Big prawns and the sauce I drank the bowl. The Johnny cakes were the best I ever had. My favorite. The coconut ginger mussels again phenomenal. Drank that sauce too. The eggrolls were good. Nice contrast with cool creamy spicy dipping sauce. The homemade seafood pasta was fantaStic. The red snapper with cool Bacar sauce yes. The oxtail insanely good. Browning sauce great. The rice n peas were yummy. Very automatic. Mango chow is cool and refresh. The rum cake was the best I ever had a worth it.

Our table tried the baby back ribs as an appetizer. Ribs were tender, smoky and uniquely seasoned in the best way. We tried two excellent entees. Three of us enjoyed the deep carribean spiced tender oxtails that were like a food hug and one person at the table had the moist smoke kissed jerk chicken. The rice and peas and joloff rice were cooked and seasoned well. Portion sizes are generous. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Background music gave a vibe to match the meal. They have a full bar. It's a good spot for a date night or a dinner out with family and friends.

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Mango Bay and let me tell you, the food was divine! Every bite was bursting with authentic Caribbean flavor. If you're a fan of Caribbean cuisine, this spot is a must-try! For food I ordered: Goat puff pastry & the Ras & Pasta. For drinks: Passionita Bay & Mango Bay! Everything is good there. The staff is so welcoming and service is on point. Definitely check them out.

Mango Bay is a charming Caribbean-themed restaurant that truly stands out. The ambiance is delightful, with a cozy and upscale vibe that feels like a warm, inviting home. The venue features both a downstairs area and an upstairs section, which is beautifully decorated with a bookshelf and a "Do the Right Thing" sign, adding a unique touch. The service was impeccable; our waiter was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food and drinks, it was nothing short of exceptional My favorite drink was the Brooklyn love .The ackee and saltfish egg rolls were a standout, and the whole fish was cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed a ras pasta dish that was absolutely delicious. We visited for a friend's celebration, and the experience was memorable for all four of us. The pricing was reasonable, making it great value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mango Bay and will definitely return in the future.

As an afro-latino, New Yorker, and foodie, I had very high expectations for Mango Bay. There are tons of spots in Brooklyn that often sacrifice ambiance for what we actually go to the restaurants for, the food, and this place surpassed my expectations. Starting off with the decor and ambiance, this felt like dining in an authentic NY townhouse, with art that represented the Black diaspora and the culinary experience one was going to embark on. The spiral staircase, the large windows, and the open space filled the room with some much energy and visual interest. By far one of the most well designed restaurants I've been to in some time. For the food, this is where they really shined. Every app hit harder than the last, our favourite was between the pork ribs and the special, baked oysters. Think oysters Rockefeller but on STEROIDS. The flavor was as if the Caribbean and high society had a baby. And as for the pork ribs, tendernism was an understatement and the pomegranate glaze made me want to walk into the kitchen and bribe the chef for the recipe. The entrees were delicious as well, I will certainly have the braised oxtail again the next time we go, as well as the Ras and Pasta. The lamb shank was delicious but a bit too game-y for me. Lastly, as for the service they were very attentive despite what seemed like an understaffed evening. We went 2 days before Valentines Day, what I would assume is one of the busiest days of the year, and we had to wait a bit for our waiter to get back to us a few times for orders. Someone from the staff did come check on us periodically so I can tell they take great care of their guests even at their busiest! Overall, this was a great experience and Mango Bay has quickly shot to the top of my favourite spots to eat in my city.

Everyone in both dining rooms were dressed to impress including the very good at their jobs servers. Perfect place to bring your family and friends or enjoy date night. Watch Chef Maguette and her team rise to fame in real time, cause it’s only up from here. Well done Chef, congratulations!!

Service was moderate, they made sure to check in on our table & clear it off when needed. The prawns, red snapper, and lamb shank were the star of the show! The jollof & rice & peas rice could of had way more flavor, I would love to see the recipe change in the near future. I was also excited to get the Bronzino and Collard Greens but they said it wasn’t featured on the menu until the weekend. Its important to update your menu if you’re featuring different items for the day! I rate Mango Bay an 8/10, overall amazing food, presentation, and ambience. I’m very excited to see their journey, there is lots of potential and room for growth.

Mango Bay completely blew me away. I live on Long Island and randomly found this spot while I was at a college basketball game nearby and decided to stop in after. I have been doing monthly solo dates for myself and this ended up being the perfect place. The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming. The service stood out too. The host greeted me by name when I arrived and again when I left, which made me feel genuinely valued. The ackee and saltfish egg rolls were unreal and it was my first time ever trying ackee. For my main I had the lamb shank with garlic sweet potato mash and it was fall off the bone, melt in your mouth good. The sweet plantains were just as amazing. Every bite was flavorful, comforting, and honestly one of the best meals I have had in a long time.

Everyday on my way to work, I would glance at the restaurant on my left named Mango Bay. It is located inside a beautiful Brownstone building. I checked the menu and decided one day I'm going to visit. Well, on 2/6/26 my work family celebrated my 65th birthday/retirement from The Brooklyn Hospital Center. The atmosphere is sheer ambience. As I sat there relaxing with my work family enjoying the smooth music, the waitress took our drink orders. We all had the Mock Drinks, the favorite was The Mango Baby. I had the ice tea with pineapple juice. The menu had been pre-selected. Everyone had a chance to enjoy every dish that was selected. We started with the salad and short ribs, then the oxtail and two different types of rice, then the fish (becareful of the bones), then the leg of lamb with whipped sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious, everything was delicious, and again everything was delicious. Since my birthday was being celebrated I expected the "surprise" slice of cake, but nothing came. I figured, oh well, but to my surprise a whole cake was presented to me and only my work family sang happy birthday. Don't worry, this is a swank establishment, no birthday song and clapping hands by the staff. That is totally up to your peeps😄. I wish I had gotten everyone's name but from the Greeter, Waitress, Busser, Bartender and Chef the service was very good. I highly recommend Mango Bay. We had a great meal, and a wonderful experience.

Ambiance Mango Bay is instantly arresting. Nestled within a brownstone, the restaurant creates an intimate, refined atmosphere that feels both exclusive and inviting. The lighting, music, and décor work in harmony, producing a warm energy that’s lively without being overwhelming. The seating is comfortable, and the overall environment felt like a thoughtful, upscale dining experience—exactly what I was hoping for on my birthday. Service The evening began on a positive note: Craig, the host, greeted me warmly and offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco for my birthday, even assuring me that my first drink would be on the house. This kind of hospitality suggested the night would be seamless. Shortly before my reservation time, I received a call asking if I could arrive earlier because the kitchen was closing due to weather. The conditions didn’t warrant such a change, so I declined and arrived at my scheduled time. I had a reservation for one and was seated alone, so the lack of attention was even more noticeable. Once seated, no server approached to take my order, and Craig stepped in to assist. After my appetizer arrived quickly, the pacing slowed my main course took 30–40 minutes to arrive, during which I was largely unattended. It wasn’t until last call around 9:30 that a server checked in, which felt especially strange because I was dining alone and celebrating a birthday. I observed the staff being attentive to other tables while I was overlooked, and that contrast was noticeable. Even on a normal night, I would expect more consistent attention, but on a birthday it felt particularly disappointing. Cuisine Despite the service issues, the food was the highlight of the evening. The goat puff pastry was exceptional—flaky, rich, and deeply flavorful. The pasta, featuring mussels, shrimp, and caviar, was a solid 8/10: well-balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. The Mango Bae cocktail was strong but delicious, with a bold, memorable taste. Conclusion While the cuisine is worthy of a return, the inconsistent service leaves me hesitant. If this is the level of attention offered on a birthday, one can only wonder how the experience would feel on an ordinary evening.

I love mango bay (will always miss Imani’s tho!), they have great food and is a nice place for a special night. It’s expensive, but the food tastes a lot better than most places w/ similar pricing. So I’d say it’s worth it if you want to treat yourself. My favorite dishes are always their meats. I knock off a star because their seafood isn’t always as balanced and flavorful as the red meat dishes. Also, the prix fix for Valentine’s Day was a little disappointing, most of the dishes weren’t a 10 but the LAMB SKEWERS need to be on their regular menu!!!! Delicious.

I went there last week and wow, it is a gorgeous space. All of the workers were so kind and it has a lovely ambiance. We started off with the goat puff pastry which was really good. The jus that came with it was delicious. We got the mango babe/bae drinks and both were delicious, very interested in trying other drinks there as well. For mains, we had the fowl bush dish which was like a jerk chicken. It was very meh for me. I wouldnt get it again. I also ordered their french fries, fried plantain, and their rice and peas which were all pretty good. You can really see how every dish is elevated. Even the fries were not greasy. Just perfectly fried. The best entree we had was the salmon which was in this delicious sauce and perfectly cooked. For dessert, I was disappointed they no longer had the bread pudding as i was interested in it but our waiter recommended the sorrel cheesecake. I was a little hesistant as i dont normally like cheesecake but boy was it good. It was truly divine and if most cheescake tasted like that, I would be a cheesecake fan. I would definitely come back here again. Oh! They also give a palate cleanser which was delicious. Solid 9/10

Brunch with former colleagues. The brownstone atmosphere was wonderful. The waffles delicious. Not fond of the chicken wings that came with it. A bit pricey but that is what gentrified will do! Didn’t really have drinks for $45 per person high price in my book.

fun atmosphere with relatively loud music, good for a group or a party. Good service and ambiance was nice. Goat puff pastry was interesting, pork ribs was good, the jerk chicken had really good cabbage but the chicken itself was a little burnt. Lobster pasta was creamy and the pasta themselves were Al dente and delicious, cream corn was good too. The chocolate lava cake came out a little colder than we would’ve liked but overall it was an enjoyable experience. This is a brand new restaurant so we expect them to improve over time as well.

A bit louder than anticipated. Nice interior. The flavor of the fish and cook was great. Goat puff pastry was too salty with the sauce. Drinks are a bit too weak. But overall for Caribbean this is a good higher end dining experience

So I would rate this restaurant a 7/10. I would say the atmosphere is nice, the food is good and the service was okay. The ackee n saltfish rolls was the best thing I had that night. The jerk chicken was very spicy, which I know how jerk is supposed to taste but it was overly spicy. The festivals paired with it, weren’t as sweet as expected and they felt very airy almost as if it was empty. I wish my dish came with rice n peas but I had to purchase that separately while the oxtail came with rice n peas. The rice itself was spicy which wasn’t expected either but it was still good 7.5/10. Then being that it was my birthday I was expecting maybe a little free dessert but unfortunately I didn’t get any. No one asked us if the food was good or not, kind of just seemed like a rush. Weren’t even finish with the appetizer and the entrees were brought out like 5 minutes after. Also the table we had was circled and small compared to everyone else’s so it wasn’t much room to eat. OVERALL 7/10. Wasn’t really worth that amount of money in my opinion.

This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting Mango Bay restaurant in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. This unique little gem offers an elevated Caribbean menu that highlights authentic Caribbean flavor with an upscale spin. To begin we ordered the Greene Lit cocktail. This beautifully crafted cocktail blends vodka, prosecco, lime and mint and served as a perfect starter for what was to be an amazing brunch! For our main courses we ordered the Pepper Prawns and Grits and the Steak and Eggs. I am a huge shrimp and grits fan and have spent time trying this dish all over the country. I was very curious how Mango Bay would measure up with their unique take that includes a Scotch bonnet sauce as well as a pimento sauce. I can say unequivocally and without hesitation, this is the absolute best shrimp and grits I have ever had in my life!!! The balance of flavor, texture and freshness was only outdone by the masterful preparation of each component of this dish. One might be intimidated by the thought of a Scotch bonnet sauce but this chef has an unparalleled understanding of balance and it is clear that this dish was born from pure artistry and know-how!!! If you are a lover of shrimp and grits, as I am, this one is not to be missed! I would go so far as to say you have not had it right until you've had it here. I am told the steak and eggs were exquisitely prepared and the accompanying spicy aioli highlighted the beautiful, perfectly prepared steak, sunny side up egg and crispy ridged potatoes. The service was warm and friendly and the restaurant's overall atmosphere is transportational to the islands. Mango Bay is a true star of Caribbean flavor in Brooklyn. Try it, try it, try it! You will not be disappointed, nor will you find a flavor experience quite like this anywhere else in the city.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing dishes. My favorite dish was probably the goat puff pastry. I also loved the oxtail and the seafood pasta, but I wish it was mentioned on the menu that the pasta is spicy. I have a very low tolerance for spicy food, but it was still so buttery and delicious. The mango bae cocktail was my favorite and we even got a free drink, thank you! My only complaint is the included gratuity of %20 which was odd for our party of two and it was nowhere mentioned on the menu. That’s the only reason for my 4 star review, but overall definitely worth checking out!

So disappointed by the food and drinks here after my visit Saturday night. I love the ambiance and wanted to love this restaurant. I ordered a lychee mojito and the branzino. The mojito was a total miss — tasted sour with a hint of lychee. The reviews seem to rave about it, but ours did not have muddled mint, or anything that makes a mojito a classic. My friend got one as well and it tasted the same, so I don’t think it was an oversight of some sort. Maybe there was a new bartender or the restaurant was short staffed, but keep in mind this is a $22 drink. I was disappointed at the lack of quality control (which was reflected in some of the food as well.) The branzino was mushy, didn’t taste fresh, and filled with slimy okra with competing flavors. I couldn’t finish it. The rice and peas tasted stale. My friends food arrived only after the rest of us were halfway done with our meals. This would not have been an issue if the food was phenomenal…but it wasn’t. The service also left much to be desired — one of the waitstaff was so sweet, but our waitress looked bored and at times, annoyed, helping us for the majority of the night. The salad, plantains, and egg rolls were good. However, they weren’t good enough to redeem the rest of our dinner experience. It feels like there’s no shortage of restaurants popping up in Brooklyn, but it seems like the price tags get larger while the quality and consistency continue to go down. 🙁

I really wanted to like this place. We walked in and the hostess was nasty and rude. Apparently having customers was an “inconvenience” for her. Our waiter was nice but the service is slow as molasses. Don’t know why. The place was empty. Like I said, I was looking forward to this experience but it was hugely disappointing. Decor is nice. Music was good.

E
Enid David

This place is gorgeous, the service was excellent. The staff were kind, drinks were amazing, and music was great, but the food was NOT good. And I hate to have to say that, but we paid $83 per person, the plantains were mushed up, the festival tasted undercooked, the octopus was salty and the jerk chicken was pink at the bone, also crazy spicy, I could barely enjoy the other flavors. The quality of the food doesn’t match the price. Maybe I went on an off day. I’d try it one more time, but someone else would have to be paying.

J
Josiah Junior

I went there on New Years day.. I can say the place is nice aesthetically. But the music is just a little too loud to have a good conversation. The food wad average at best and they actually ran out of what I tried to order. My waitress did suggest something else but unfortunately it wasn't any good. She did have it remove the bill which was very nice... all and all I might give it another chance if do I will update my review...

B
Bianca Brooks

The food was pretty good, but the service was absolutely terrible. The taller waitress with the long nails who kept combing her wig with her hands, rushing our order and then turned the lights on at exactly 9:30 should be fired. I always patron black businesses and wanted to support this gem, but I had a terrible dining experience. It was not good, at all.

Here’s an updated version that adds that point while keeping it appropriate for a Google review (direct but still professional): ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) The food at Mango Bay was pretty good overall. I’d definitely recommend the branzino fish, and our meals came out fairly quickly, which was a plus. However, the menu was very limited, and several items were unavailable. They were out of jollof rice, the Mango Babe cocktail, the Paper Plane drink, and other options we wanted, which was disappointing. The ambiance was another downside. The restaurant is very small, and the seating is extremely tight. We were seated so close to another couple that it felt like we were part of their conversation, which really took away from the experience. The most off-putting part of the experience, though, was our waitress. She was not warm or friendly at all, which was a big turn-off and made us feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, that really impacted our overall impression of the restaurant. Overall, decent food, but the limited menu, cramped seating, and poor service made it hard to fully enjoy the visit. If you want it more blunt or slightly softer so it doesn’t get flagged or ignored, I can adjust it either way.

J
Joi Heyward

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience overall. Unfortunately, the food itself fell a bit short of expectations. While everything was presented well and arrived promptly, the dishes lacked depth of flavor and seasoning, making them taste fairly bland. Nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing stood out either. With some improvement to the seasoning and flavor profiles, this could be a much better dining experience.

I’ve been when the location was Imani’s. I love a good dinner experience but it was a bit disappointing. We went to celebrate my friends birthday dinner and the service was lack luster. I work in hospitality so my service standards are already high regardless of the establishment. We sat upstairs which has a cute ambiance and setting. You feel like you’re in someone’s living room which I can appreciate. The food was great but the service was not! There was only one server for the entire top floor which honestly they needed two. He was overwhelmed with the dinner rush. The back server wasn’t able to assist as much as he could have to put in orders or check on drinks. One entree arrived much earlier than the rest of the table so one person was left eating before the remainder of us got our food. Which is never ideal for any dinner setting. The cocktails also took a long time to come. We had to mention to our server multiple times for a simple Shirley Temple but honestly it was because he had too many tables so we didn’t fault him at all. As for the food everything was really good. I had the fried snapper and rice and peas someone else the burger and oxtails. Everyone was happy with their meal. It seems to not fail black establishments get the food right but somehow lack on the service. Was still happy to support :)

I’m a little disappointed as an Afro Caribbean restaurant I expected more from the meals. The food was OK. The fact that I was charged $30 for a margarita just because I asked for tequila is absolutely crazy. The only thing that I can say I enjoyed was probably the goat puff pastry, my friend had the prawns, but we couldn’t decide whether it was curry flavored or something else. There was a lot going on with that meal. I had the jerk burger. It was OK. I don’t know maybe we caught them on a bad night. I don’t know, but the meals that I’ve seen advertised on social media they were not even available. It’s a beautiful restaurant they took their time with decor. It was intentional and I loved that about the place. But I am disappointed in everything else.

The verdict is still out on this restaurant for me but my partner seemed to like it. I want to give a BIG SHOUTOUT to the hostess she was the absolute cutest and the only saving grace of the night! It’s extremely hard to get reservations at Mango Bay, and even though I was late for my earlier reservation, she still squeezed me in. We were celebrating a birthday, and I would’ve been so embarrassed if we were turned away. THANK YOU, QUEEN! 🙌🏽 You saved my arse!!!! Now for the rest the staff seemed intoxicated and completely unprofessional. Drinks and food were being delivered to the wrong tables left and right huge red flag! I will say, the octopus was amazing, especially since it was my first time trying it. I hated the snapper it was disgusting!!! DRIED OUT!! My partner ordered the oxtail and rice the rice was subpar and hard-boiled, and to make things worse, the jollof rice was sold out. Our waitress had a major attitude and was even asking another table to buy her a cocktail. She barely waited on us, but I still left her a tip (which she didn’t deserve). The ambiance was nice and lively, and I’m glad I sat indoors outside didn’t seem appealing. I’d prefer to eat upstairs next time. I actually remember this place under its old name, and while the vibe is definitely more energetic now, the food quality and customer service need serious improvement. Mango Bay, get your act together you have potential to be great, but you’ve got work to do!

R

The restaurant is very spacious and clean. For appetizers, my family and I ordered the octopus, goat puff and ackee and salt fish. The octopus was a bit salty, the goat puff was tasty and the ackee w/ callaloo was surprisingly the best. For entree, my sister and I both ordered oxtail w/rice and peas $45. The most expensive underwhelming oxtail you’ll ever have. The gravy was watery and the flavor was just ok. I expected more for that price. We were expecting to end the night with one of their desserts on the menu, but unfortunately the only dessert available was vanilla ice cream.

We wanted to love this place, but sadly they have to work on their customer service & organization. We were very disappointed about this experience as we were excited to come here. Let’s start with the good: We came for brunch on Sunday, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and extremely cozy. The main courses we had were the prawns & grits, French toast, steak and eggs, were delicious. I would say, skip the cod fish fritters, more dough than codfish. The bad: The service! We had multiple servers, two of which had a disagreement in front of us, about who should be working our section. The servers would bicker or insult each other, which was just unprofessional. Our drink order was incorrect, and when we informed the man who appeared to be the manager serving our drinks, he got an attitude with us for his servers getting it incorrect. The manager’s energy in general, was just impolite every time he came to our table, to help his staff. We were also missing part of our order, and it took a long while, and constant reminding before we received it. When you go to a restaurant like this, which is on the smaller side, you’re going for the food, and an intimate experience. Sadly, this place did not give us the vibe IG and Tik Tok boasted about.

Food is good but way too overpriced. We got the goat puff pastry to split among 3 and basically had a bite each. I got the Chase infatuation credit from dining here and it was still too expensive. We spent $215 (before the credit) for 2 apps and 2 mains, I’ve included photos of everything we ordered. I did not leave feeling full.

I was very excited to dine at Mango Bay. But not all was as exceptional as I had hoped for. Ill start with the positive. The food was excellent. Jerk chicken was moist with just enough spice and the ackee and saltfish egg rolls were delicious. My drink was great too ( I think it was a lychee and spice but I forgot) Unfortunately the service is very subpar. From the moment I checked in for my reservation, their was confusion at the front ( this also concluded with them not properly checking me in and ending with me having to dispute a case with open table to make sure I received my credit for dining) to the what felt like very rushed service throughout my meal. My entree came right after my appetizer was served. No space in between. My waitress never asked how my meal was. And when I was finished and asked if I could have the food wrapped, I was presented with Tupperware to do it myself. I'm sorry but this isn't Applebee's. Extremely tacky for a nicer establishment to have the patron pack their own meal up themself. It is a shame because the restaurant is lovely and the food and vibes are great. But I cannot recommend based on the subpar level of service provided.

Overhyped TikTok restaurant. The food is not that good I got oxtails and the meat was set on a black sauce it looked like a petroleum sauce. It’s not pleasing to see and the flavors were off. The restaurant is loud I could barely hear my friend talking as we were stacked next to other people. We didn’t even get a water refill during the whole time we were there. The entrees choice is limited the starters looked way better. The rice and peas was not good I had to ask for white rice. I will not come back.

I’m very disappointed with my order. I ordered steak to-go and it was completely different from the last time I had it. I asked for medium-well, but it was overcooked, salty, and they did not include the green herb sauce. For $83 and change, it definitely was not worth it!

Came to celebrate my partners birthday and didnt have the best experience. The food was good but took a really long time. We ordered the oxtail and the salmon, the salmon came out cold and undercooked but the oxtail and appetizers we ordered were really good… After explicitly saying both in the reservation and pulling my waiter to the side and asking him to surprise my partner with a dessert for his birthday, the waiter simply brought the check after we ate. no happy birthday or anything to celebrate the moment. It was truly disappointing since my partner was obviously expecting to be wished happy birthday. ive been here before and was very disappointed by my visit yesterday

Honestly I had high hopes for this place it’s a bit overrated , and I expected real authentic Jamaican food but the jerk chicken wasn’t the best the rice was tasty overall I’ll give it like a 5/10 the chicken could’ve been grilled a bit longer the ambiance was very nice and the service was good

I visited Mango Bay a few months ago and I loved their Jerk Caesar Salad so I decided to order it last night to takeout. To my surprise I was so disappointed when I looked at what I received. There was no effort put in and the dressing on the side was barely enough to cover the long leaves of lettuce that still had the stem on it. I've attached two photos; one from a few months ago and the other from last night.

Extremely disappointed! IMANI was better than Mango Bay. The food was tasteless and inconsistent. We ordered 2 of the same dishes (PEPPER SHRIMP) and they both taste different. Rice and peas was bland. The pineapple chow was a disappointment also. This place is definitely overpriced for tasteless food. I also wasn't very pleased with the fact that there was an automatic gratuity added(snuck in) to the bill & it was only 2 of us. The atmosphere was great! Definitely a great place to hangout and talk, drink and finger food as long as you're not worried about the taste. Service was great! But I can't overlook the fact that the food was a disappointment! Also, could help but hear the party of 4 seated next to us having almost the same complaints with their food. This was our anniversary dinner and wished it was a better experience. Best of luck to Mango Bay. Thank you for your response @Mango Bay. So as I said,it was a dinner for 2,my wife and I and we were charged an automatic gratuity. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I came to this restaurant with high expectations after seeing several positive posts on social media. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow, which set the tone for the evening. When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The oxtail tasted watered down and lacked depth of flavor, and the pepper shrimp was inconsistently seasoned — some pieces had flavor while others were bland. The lychee drink was far too strong and extremely sour. I sent it back, but it was returned incorrectly, which only added to the frustration. Overall, it was a terrible experience, especially considering I was celebrating my birthday. I had hoped for a memorable evening, but sadly, it fell far short of expectations.

For a Michelin-rated restaurant, this was unacceptable. Reservation was made over a week in advance for my daughter’s birthday and required a credit card. When we arrived, we were told it was canceled due to overbooking. They claimed they notified us — they did not. Manager never came out to apologize, and the maître d’ showed no empathy. Ruined our plans. Would not recommend.

I was very disappointed by the way we were treated by the hostess. When we arrived and asked to be seated, she immediately told us we couldn’t be accommodated. I explained that we had a reservation, but she said we were one minute late and refused to seat us. What made it even more frustrating was that we spent several minutes talking with her, yet she showed no understanding or willingness to help. It was an unpleasant and disheartening experience, especially given that we had planned ahead and arrived with a reservation.

We chose this venue for our date night, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food was served later than expected and was mistakenly delivered to another table multiple times. Additionally, we were billed for items that we did not receive. When we raised our concerns about the overcharges on our bill, the staff declined to make any adjustments. I recommend reviewing your bill carefully. As for the food, it appears to be freshly prepared.

I visited this restaurant yesterday to celebrate my fifth wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. I’m in my early 30s, and it quickly became clear that this venue caters more to an older crowd ,perhaps those in their 40s and up. The atmosphere felt dated, the music selection was poor, and the food was mediocre at best. Our server, who had dreadlocks with blonde ends and was working upstairs, was inattentive and careless. I specifically asked to cancel the ackee and saltfish appetizer, yet it was still brought to our table. Even more concerning, I clearly informed him that my husband has a seafood allergy, but he still served a dish containing seafood. I also requested my steak to be cooked medium-well and received it medium instead. I also want to mention that I felt deceived by the menu situation. I had chosen this restaurant because I saw a menu online that included curry crab, which was the main dish I was looking forward to. However, when I arrived, the menu was completely different and the curry crab was not available. It felt like a bait-and-switch, which added to the disappointment. The food overall was bland, overpriced, and did not live up to the hype surrounding this place. The only thing that tasted good was the cheesecake ,but even that took nearly 30 minutes to arrive after we requested it. The one positive note was another staff member ,a slim African-American gentleman with a goatee ,who stepped in and handled the situation professionally. He was attentive, respectful, and did his best to correct the issues caused by our original server. That said, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for a special occasion.

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. When we first arrived, the host had an attitude toward us and did not seem very welcoming. As customers, we expect to feel comfortable and treated kindly, but that was not the case at the beginning. I believe she could work on being more friendly and professional with guests. The food was okay overall, but the chicken needed to be cooked a little more. It would have been better if it was prepared more thoroughly. However, I did notice that the host became more friendly when she brought out a drink for my mother’s birthday, which I appreciated. I just wish that same positive attitude had been shown from the start. Good customer service makes a big difference in the overall experience.

Honestly I hate to even write this review however, the experience I had here was truly disappointing and underwhelming. I've been to Mango Bay before and had a great experience. So much so that I decided to return with more friends and that was a horrible idea. We had a 7:30 reservation and requested to be seated upstairs. We were told there was only one server up there and that it wouldn't be advisable. The host begrudgingly sat us upstairs, only for us to notice there were only two tables seated at the time. Server took almost 15 mins just to greet us and at that point it felt like it was on purpose because we asked to be seated there. Granted we understood it would be a bit delayed but the fact that there were only two tables does not account for how we were treated. For a reservation at 7:30pm our appetizers did not arrive until 8:56.... An hour wait just for appetizers. Unacceptable. While we were waiting on any type of food to hit our table they began to seat more people upstairs. It becomes a bit strange when you watch tables that arrive after you get their food much faster after you've waited over an hour for any type of food. All we got was a plethora of " I'm sorrys" & "the kitchen is backed up" It sucks that that the service was so subpar because this is honestly a beautiful restaurant. The ambiance is stunning, and the food was pretty decent. They have great intentions but could use a lot of work in customer service, attention, and timing. No matter how good the food is, treatment can ruin an entire experience, and that’s exactly what happened.
