I gotta say i finally found my new fave dumpling spot in SGV!! You can see them handmade their dumplings and xiao long baos fresh daily. This restaurant is always very busy especially on the weekend so highly recommend to make a reservation if you come in a big group/with family. Some of my favorite dishes are: Sticky Rice shiumai - very unique and full of flavor Pan Fried Pork Bun - so crunchy and juicy Lobster and Seafood Noodles Soup - the presentation was IG worthy and the taste was amazing 3 Cups Chicken - very tasty with spices and herbs blend Kurobota Pork Xiao Long Bao - very juicy I will definitely return again for my next family gathering. There are also plenty of parking spots in the plaza so it's super convenience!

The stir-fried rice cakes have a great wok hei, the soup dumplings are juicy with plenty of filling, and the potstickers are crispy and flavorful. Great value for money, will definitely revisit.

All the items we had were great and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have a pretty extensive menu and more varieties of XLB than Din Tai Fung! Would definitely come back! We had the following items: - Garlic green beans - Scallion pancakes - Cucumber Salad - Pork xiao long bao - Pork pan fried dumplings - Braised beef noodle soup - chocolate xiao long bao

Took awhile to get seated, but the foods come out really quickly after we ordered. They have lots of options to choose from, and there are vegetarian options as well. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I was invited to Prince Dumpling for my food blog on Instagram (@catrinoms) and had a great experience! Loved seeing the dumplings being made by hand right as I walked in the door, so I know it’s all fresh! Everything is a really great price point too, especially when compared to another well known xiao long bao restaurant. Tried a lot of different items and everything was delicious. It was super busy on a Sunday morning, but service was still very good. You can probably expect a bit of a wait if you go on the weekend. Overall, a great spot for dumplings, noodles, and more!

Wonderful meal and experience at this restaurant! Food was great. Many options ranging from larger share plates to individual sized noodles etc. Of course there are the dumplings as well. Xiao long bao were great. Some overall standouts were the sheng jian bao, signature salad appetizer, and the sweet and sour ribs. This seems like the kind of place where you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. Don’t miss out on the dessert xlb too! Chocolate, taro, and black sesame were all delicious.

Such a delicious spot! With an extensive menu there is something for everyone! I was amazed at their variety of xiao long bao and dumplings! What really surprised me was how delicious the rice cakes were. My first time trying them and I am hooked! I really enjoyed the noodles as well but you can’t go wrong with any of their menu items! Dare I say the green beans were even better than din tai fung! Staff was friendly and overall had a great experience! I will be back next time I am in the area!

It's my go-to juicy dumpling (xiao long bao) spot. 100+ bonus points that they take reservations and are INCREDIBLY accommodating - I've made reservations for up to 25 and it's a breeze. Admittedly came 3x in one week and loved it every time! Pricing is super reasonable! My favorite items are of course the juicy steamed dumplings, seafood fried rice, salt and pepper squid, and pan fried dumplings. I also really enjoy the cabbage, green beans, westlake beef soup, and ORANGE CHICKEN (yes.). Their tableside chili oil slaps (not sure if it's homemade) Strangely, the beef rolls here are served room temperature or nearly cool - not for me especially since they have fried/grill marks on them but I'm sure that works for other people. Staff incredibly sweet and greet you with a really warm welcome! Makes dining here a lot of a better experience! Parking plentiful in the plaza.

This place has the best Shanghai style brunch! Nice big open space, great for groups here. We tried: 🥒 Cucumber Salad 🫓 Onion Pancake 🥟 Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings 🥟 Crispy Shrimp Pork & Chive Wontons 🥟 Pan Fried Pork Buns 🦞 Lobster & Abalone Soup 🥟 Black Sesame Dessert Xiao Long Bao WOW 😍😍😍 You can actually watch them making the dumplings fresh through a window when you walk in. Their xlb definitely compete with the well known chains out there. Nice thin wrapper with enough soup to fill up a spoon, and just packed with flavor! The pan fried buns had a nice crispy sesame bottom, and also had a good amount of juice inside the fluffy buns too. That soup though ... 🤤 They boil lobster parts and seafood for hours to make the broth and we can't even begin to tell you how rich and lobstery every single sip is. They give you plenty of lobster meat in every bowl, and even nice big chunks of meaty abalone too. They have several varieties of soup dumplings, including dessert versions like chocolate or the delicious black sesame paste one we tried. We can't wait to go back and try more!

One of our regular spots now. The food and service is always excellent. I no longer go to other restaurants for dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. My son thinks it’s better than DTF. It’s been so long since I’ve been there, but I’ll take his word for it. There can be a long wait but it’s worth it. The food comes out pretty quickly so that’s good.

Prince Dumpling might just give some of the well-known spots a run for their money. The Xiao Long Bao (XLB) was the highlight—so flavorful and perfectly done that I’d come back just for those. The service here was impeccable. The staff was on top of their game, and the food came out fast and hot. We tried a variety of dishes: cucumber salad, Shanghai rice cakes, fried dumplings, spicy pork and shrimp wontons, three fresh dumplings (pork, shrimp & chives), and fried shrimp spring rolls. While everything was tasty, we felt some items could use a tad more flavor—maybe just a pinch more salt. It seemed like the cooks might have been a bit light-handed, but honestly, I’d take that over overly salted food any day. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner here.

Nice experience! I like beef pan fried dumplings, the new one and the taro dumplings.

Come early and come now! I’ve been hearing about this new restaurant and the word is they are amazing and it’s true! Their ciao long bao is the best!! The restaurant is clean and well appointed. The staff friendly and courteous. There is plenty of parking in the large parking lot. The menu is great with all the favorites and some extras for you to try out! I would come early though because this place is popular and for a reason! Their food is made fresh daily with the staff coming in hours early to start prepping for the day. Lemme tell you, you can tell everything is fresh!! The flavors are so familiar and appealing. The dishes are not only flavorful but given in generous portions brought hot to the table. The prices are so reasonable for what you are given. I can’t recommend highly enough. When I say come early I mean it because not only does the restaurant fill up but the popular dishes run out if you don’t come early enough because they are made daily, there is a finite amount. Can’t wait for their patio dining area for summer months! Xiao long bao ( the best) Chili wonton Sweet & sour spareribs Cucumber salad Pan fried dumplings Lobster & abalone noodle soup (great price) Scallion pancake Pan fried bun

When looking for a hidden gem, Prince Dumpling is the poster child for the word. Located next to a popular asian supermarket chain, their unassuming yellow banner is the only sign that let's you know the establishment exists. Upon opening the doors and entering the restaurant. You are transported to a simple but cozy interior with lots of neutral color tones and large tables ready for family gatherings. You can see the chefs at work through the glass, making hand made dumplings for us to enjoy. Their menu is filled with a variety of dumplings; from pan fried options, wontons to xiao long baos. I reccomend the lobster xiao long bao and the kurobuta pork xiao long bao. The spicy shrimp and pork wontons were also a fan favorite that you don't want to miss. Make sure to save room for dessert, because they have a lot of buns and sweet xiao long baos to choose from. We opted for the black sesame xiao long bao, and loved the sweet filling wrapped in a dougy bao. Will definitely be back for more, and will try some of their other entrees next time I return.

Din Tai Fung dupe? Nope, this place is better than DTF!! 😍🔥 Don’t let the outside fool you, I had the best dumplings of my life here!! 🫶🏻 The kurobuta xiao long bao is an absolute must-try. Each XLB and the pan fried pork were bursting with juicy meat!! 🤤🤤 And OMG their lobster and abalone noodle soup!!!! Packed with so much flavor that I could’ve sipped the broth all day! Totally worth it! 🦞🍜❤️ I also have to mention that the service was top-notch, too! 🙆🏻‍♀️✨ 10 out of 10, no question! Can’t wait to go back!! - Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (10) $13.99 - Pan Fried Pork Bun (6) $12.99 - Lobster and Abalone Noodle Soup $38.95 - Cucumber Salad $6.95 - Chive and Pork Dumplings (10) $12.99 - Walnut Shrimp $17.95 - Prince Fried Rice (Seafood) $27.99 - Rice Cakes with Shrimp $15.95 - Sticky Rice Siu Mai (5) $9.99

We came for the soft opening and their food was delicious! I highly recommend the XLB here as it was juicy and the meat was extremely flavorful. The owner greeted us and was extremely friendly. They were out of the milk tea (come early if you want some) so I got the Thai tea and it’s honestly one of the best Thai teas I’ve had. It’s not too sweet and it’s the perfect amount of creamy. All the food came out piping hot so be careful not to burn yourself! I would definitely come here again for the xlb and Thai tea alone.

I enjoyed the flavors at the restaurant, especially the appetizer cucumber. However, with the fried noodles, I wish the portion size was more generous to match the delicious taste. updated: 8/20 Everything is good—the food, the staff, the service. However, the food took too long to arrive.

There is a restaurant in Rosemead where you can find everything similar to Din Tai Fung! The best part is you don’t have to wait! Prince Dumpling is my go to spot for their soup dumplings. The soup dumplings are handcrafted daily by their chefs! Aside from steamed dumpling, they also serve fried dumplings. Try their juicy pan-fried pork soup dumplings with sesame seeds; these are packed in flavors. Another of my favorite is fried rice served with porky belly. The pork belly simply melt in your mouth and the caramelized sauce was sweet with a hint of salt. If you are craving for dumplings without the wait, stop by Prince Dumpling!

Absolutely loved the Crab and Chicken Xiao Long Bao! For me personally you can skip the lobster one. Overall great customer service! Great food! Will definitely be back! Not to forget the chocolate ones were delightful in the end for dessert! 🥟

Great dumpling alternative to the you-know-what-place in the mall and without the super long lines. Generally Prince Dumplings can be busy during weekends, so plan accordingly. In addition the usual, Xio Long Bao, I would recommend Signature Salad and the Garlic Broccoli. Personally, I did not like their pork spicy wonton. You can make your own decision.

Prince Dumpling is the place to get true authentic dumplings in the SGV. This was my first time here and it exceeded my expectations! Everything is freshly made, high quality ingredients, great balance of flavors and seasoned perfectly! The dumplings are made in front of you. The XLB’s could have had more soup inside but the flavor was there. The xiao long bao was juicy and perfectly wrapped. The pan fried buns had a nice crispy sesame bottom. The Black Pepper Beef Cubes were juicy, tender and so flavorful! The Salt & Pepper Squid were perfectly crispy, tender but firm and our table favorite. The Lobster and Abalone Noodle Soup is a show stopper, with chunks of lobster and abalone. The broth is so flavorful! The cucumber salad is crunchy. Black Sesame Xiao Long Bao wasn’t overly sweet. It was pretty packed when we got there so that was a good sign. Simon and his staff had excellent customer service! I would definitely go back! 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 tried: ✧ Cucumber ✧ Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao ✧ Pan Fried BBQ Pork Bun Bao ✧ Black Pepper Beef Cubes ✧ Lobster and Abalone Noodle Soup ✧ Salt & Pepper Squid ✧ Scallion Pancake ✧ Black Sesame Xiao Long Bao

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but this place is incredibly delicious!! I highly recommend this place!! W must of ordered 8 different things and each one was sooo delicious!! We've been to Din Ti Fung several times and this place has it beat in spades all the way from the cucumber salad to the desert dumplings! Last time we went to din ti fung we left hungry but this place we spend the same $ and we were absolutely stuffed. The service was excellent and the staff was so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place over din ti fung and I can't wait to go back

I’m so impressed with Prince Dumpling’s food and service! It is definitely unassuming from the outside located next to GW Supermarket in the same plaza. Everything we ordered was excellent. My favorites were the pork xiao long bao (XLB), Taiwanese cabbage sautéed in garlic and the sweet and sour baby back pork ribs. The customer service here is amazing. The staff are attentive and quick. I have nothing but good things to say about this place! Will definitely be back for more.

My husband and I have been here quite a few times now. We try to introduce a different couple to this restaurant each time we dine here. It has become one of our favorite places! I’ve been wanting to try out this place in such a long time and finally bit the bullet last week. Upon reading their extensive menu, we noticed a lot of similarities with DTF but at a slightly cheaper price point , plus short wait. Everything we ended up trying was solid! The xiao long bao had thin wrappers with a rich, flavorful broth inside — definitely some of the better ones I’ve had in the SGV. The beef rolls were flaky and crispy. The lobster abalone soup stole the show — it’s visually stunning and actually packed with deep seafood flavor. The sides rounded out the meal perfectly. Garlic string beans and honey walnut shrimp were delicious. Always a hit with our family. We left SO full and happy 😁 This place does get crowded, so highly recommend visiting earlier (closer to opening time).

If I could give Prince Dumpling six stars, I absolutely would. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination that sets the gold standard for innovative Chinese cuisine in Rosemead. The quality, the flavor, and the execution of every single dish are phenomenal. You have to start with the classics. Their Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao are arguably the best in the San Gabriel Valley—the wrapper is thin yet sturdy, holding a burst of savory broth and the rich, tender Kurobuta pork filling. Following that up, the Pan Fried Pork Bun offers an incredible contrast with its crispy, golden bottom and fluffy top. And don't skip the Sticky Rice Siu Mai; it's a hearty, flavorful take on a dim sum staple that is absolutely addictive. The Shrimp Fried Noodles are cooked perfectly, non-greasy, and loaded with fresh shrimp. The Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, with a perfect balance of tang and sweetness in the sauce. For a refreshing counterpoint, the Cucumber Salad is crisp and lightly dressed—a necessary palate cleanser. And for my vegetarian friends, the Vegetarian Steamed Dumplings are packed with savory flavor, proving they don't skimp on deliciousness. Finally, we need to talk about the newest addition that completely blew me away: the crispy, golden to perfection Chicken Cutlet with their house-made lemon sauce. Seriously, this dish is to die for. The chicken is unbelievably juicy inside with a shatteringly crisp crust, and that lemon sauce? It elevates the whole experience. The Grand Finale: Dessert - just when you think you've reached peak deliciousness, you discover their dessert dumplings. You must save room for the sweet Xiao Long Bao. The Red Bean Xiao Long Bao is an unexpected delight, offering a warm, slightly sweet, and earthy filling encased in that delicate wrapper. But the true masterpiece is the Chocolate Xiao Long Bao—it's like a perfectly steamed, molten lava cake you can eat with chopsticks! These are the innovative sweet endings you didn't know you needed. Wash it all down with their creamy, perfectly spiced Thai Tea, and you have the makings of the perfect meal. Prince Dumpling truly offers a five-star dining adventure from start to finish. Run, don't walk, to try these dishes!

Some of the best xiaolongbao I’ve ever had, hands down. I consider myself somewhat of a xiaolongbao connoisseur, and these soup dumplings were top notch. From flavor to texture to appearance, everything was 10/10. Can’t wait to go back.

I had a great experience at Prince Dumpling! The dumplings were good and juicy, with a nice crispy bottom and tender wrapper. You can really taste the freshness and quality in each bite. I especially loved the pork and chive — super flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and service was quick and friendly. It’s a cozy spot that’s perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. If you’re a dumpling lover, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’d come back to try more!

If you don't know it's there, you'd miss it. No signage from East Valley Blvd. However, find it...and order up the scallion pancakes, the panfried pork buns...love their pork dumplings.. ..I accidentally ordered the beef steak cubes, wish I hadn't sent it back to the kitchen...it looked soooo yum. They corrected my order, didn't charge me for my misteak...and we got the popular beef upon noodles. I brought my very discerning foodie mom, and she loved the dumplings especially. Yay!! Now she wants to try more items the next time she wants to order. You order off a paper menu, service is friendly, a combating, and forgiving. Glad the staff got to eat my mistaken order, ans thank you for not charging me for my mistake. Mom approved place...we will return.

I've been seeing a lot of posts about this restaurant on social media. Finally got to try it today. Prince Dumplings looks unassuming from the outside, located in a shopping plaza. But once you get inside, it is giving a modern, sleek, and sharp interior. There was a wait when we arrived, however, we didn't have to wait that long and got seated shortly thereafter. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Everything that we tried was so refined and elevated in flavors. Very well prepared. Very solid and exceeded my expectations.

The food is incredible. - Cucumber salad is fresh and crunchy, served in chunks instead of spirals, but it’s packed with flavor. - Xiao long bao is perfectly moist, juicy, and filled with savory soup. - Dan Dan noodles are cooked just right, and - Pan-fried pork buns are a must-try crispy, fluffy, and filled with soup. Pair it all with hot jasmine tea, and you’re golden. The staff are friendly and professional, making the whole experience even better. A top-notch spot for dumpling lovers!

I didn't expect much because the entrance and sign looked somewhat sketchy, but the inside was seriously a 5 star restaurant with 5 star food and 5 star service. The restaurant was very clean and they also have a window of live kitchen for XLB wrapping. I had pork XLB, lobster XLB, potstickers, fried rice, walnut shrimps and some sweet XLB. Everything was very good! The savory XLB was perfect. All the wrapping was perfect and none of them leaked. The meat portion was generous. The soup was very delicious. The fried rice was delicious to the point I wanna have it for Chinese new year. Sweet XLBs have thin wrapping and generous filling. I love them too. The menu here is mainly XLB and potstickers. There are a few other Chinese dishes too. This reminded me of din tai fung but the menu here is more extensive and the price is much more affordable. You also don't have to queue for a long time. Totally a hidden gem! They should consider making the entrance more attractive.

We have been coming here since the soft open a year or so ago and it’s become our de facto Dim Sum place along with Lunasia Alhambra. Their Xia Long Bao is some of the best in the USA. DTF still reigns supreme for its clean taste. But would say this place tastes similar to what you’ll find in Shanghai where it originated - thicker dough. The rest of the food is great. Mustard Greens in Garlic. String Beans. Fried Noodles. Cucumber. All with Home-style authenticity. Like how unfussy the food is. Simple. Good.

So many vegan options! Good thing I wore my stretchy pants and brought the munchies. I love how most of the vegan options are a vibrant green, really sets the vibe. If you haven’t visited the San Gabriel Valley make sure you explore their food scene and drop by Prince Dumpling for some grub. Happy Munchies, @aVeganAndHer

This is the second time I've been here and it was just as good as the first time. I love that they have vegetarian pan fried dumplings (the chive pockets) and vegetarian spicy wontons; not many dumpling places have pure vegetable dumplings and wontons that taste great. The shrimp egg roll was super crispy and had a decent sized whole shrimp in it instead of shrimp paste. XLB had thin skin and very flavorful. Overall a great lunch meal.

“There are so many Asian people dining here, it must be really good.” It's me, I'm one of the Asian people eating there XD Soup dumplings are basically one of my favorite things ever, and you can take a peek at the chefs making them fresh through the glass. And don't make the same mistake as I did, wearing all-white because their juicy pan-fried pork buns will literally squirt all over you omg. But trust me, all their other dishes on the menu are delicious too, like the beef rolls, cucumber salad, and black pepper beef cubes, but you just can't sleep on their carby dishes. The dumpling wrappers are so delicate and filled with so much soup. Dan dan noodles are a must-get here, and their spicy beef noodle soup is on the sweeter side. Thanks for reading! ^-^

Prince Dumpling in Rosemead is hands down one of the best spots for xiaolongbao and authentic Chinese food. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious! We started with the Lobster Xiaolongbao, which was served in spoons and packed with flavor. The Pork & Crab Xiaolongbao was another highlight, with juicy crab meat that made it extra tasty. The Walnut Shrimp was crispy and had just the right amount of sweetness from the walnuts — a perfect balance. We also loved the Pork Pan Fried Dumplings and Chive & Pork Fried Dumplings, both beautifully presented with a crispy, flavorful exterior. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was comforting and packed with deep, savory flavor. The Garlic Green Beans were crispy and seasoned perfectly, making them a great side to any meal. To top it all off, we had the Black Sesame Xiaolongbao, which was filled with rich black sesame and was simply irresistible. Overall, Prince Dumpling offers an incredible variety of dishes with top-notch flavors. It's definitely a must-try for anyone craving dumplings and delicious Chinese food!

Sharing the location in a mall in Rosemead, the newly unveiled Prince Dumpling presents an impressive offering reminiscent of the famed Din Tai Fung, famed for its exceptional xiao long bao. Named after a character from the Final Fantasy video game series, this eatery boasts an almost identical menu to Din Tai Fung, complete with an open kitchen where skilled hands craft delectable dumplings. The star attractions undoubtedly are the succulent pork Xiao Long Bao and the flavorful pork chop fried rice, both standing out amidst a familiar yet exquisitely executed array of dishes. While the sweet and sour spare ribs don't quite reach the zenith set by Din Tai Fung, they still hold their own in taste and presentation. Service at Prince Dumpling shines brightly, characterized by remarkable efficiency and attentiveness, elevating the dining experience for patrons. However, securing parking can be a slight challenge, given the shared space with a popular supermarket nearby. An added boon lies in the restaurant's pricing, slightly more affordable than its renowned counterpart, Din Tai Fung, making it an attractive dining destination for those seeking exceptional flavors without breaking the bank. Prince Dumpling serves as a promising addition to Rosemead's culinary landscape, offering an impressive homage to Din Tai Fung's quality with its own unique flair.

The dumplings here is amazing! We ordered the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Crab Xiao Long Bao, Three Fresh Dumpling, Chive & Pork Fried Dumpling, Shredded Kurobuta Pork Fried Noodles, and Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken is mediocre. It was not sour or sweet. The service is not that great… It took us to finish 3 complete dishes with trash in it for the waiters/waitress to finally to pick up the dishes. They walked by 4 times and ignored it. The server only checked up on us once their kitchen was about to close… Overall, a great restaurant except for the front of the business. Be great if they put up a nice large sign in place of a small cheap banner. And I would probably go again with friends!

This restaurant came as a recommendation from a friend who lives on that side of town. The ambiance is simple but friendly and lively. The service is quick and great, and the food is fresh and delicious. I will definitely go back to try more of their menu and definitely recommend it as an affordable dining place for the weekend.

Another xlb ! We have been trying it all out .. surprising inside is quite nice ambiance because outside doesn’t look appealing.. you get 10 xlb and it is not sweet .. it is more savory which I like… pan fried bun is very juicy as well.. seems like there is wine in the filling..

I’ve been here a few times and came back for dinner on a Sunday night. It was busy but there were a few tables still open. We got seated with a paper to fill out what we want. Out of everything I my favorites were the Pork cutlet fried rice, Xiao long Bao, Noodles, and Pan fried pork baos. Ive had all these dishes before and I felt like this time it wasn’t the same as i remember coming the other times. I felt Beef Roll & Cucumber Salad needed more seasoning/flavor, but textures great. This is located inside the same plaza as GW market and right next to the market. Plenty of parking spaces. The dinning room is pretty spacious. Looks like they have over 20+ tables. Very cool to have a display glass box of workers making dumplings and working on dough. Ordered: Chicken Xiao Long Bao: 8/10 Cucumber Salad: 7/10 Beef Roll: 7/10 Pork Cutlet and Egg Fried Rice: 10/10 Dan Dan Noodles (Sesame Noodle): 9/10 Pan Fried Pork Bao 9/10

Things started off well here, but went downhill when we got the bill and paid. We were hoping to find another spot to frequent for our dumpling needs. Lots of things looked good on the menu and we settled on the following while thinking to try the rest next time: * Popcorn chicken ($9.95) * Scallion pancake ($3.99) * Pork pan fried dumplings ($9.50) - comes with 8 pieces * Pork cutlet and egg fried rice ($14.95) Everything was delicious. BF loved the tea and particularly the style of the teacups. It all changed when we were ready to pay. We got the bill and saw that they overcharged us $6.99 for the scallion pancake, which was more than what was on the menu. We told one of the employees and they said that the menu price was wrong and should've been crossed out with the right price. They refused to change it until we brought up how deceptive it is to charge a different price than what's given to us on the menu. If it was wrong on the menu, the onus is on them. They finally changed the price on our bill. However, after that, they avoided our table like the plague and we got weird vibes from them. In summary, food was good and lots of potential here, but they just dropped the ball on service after they were called out for not honoring the prices on the menu they gave us.

New spot right by my work and decided to try it on a weekend and it's pretty disappointing. The person who handed me the menu, he introduced the restaurant as Din Tai Fung's little brother, which is why they're the "Prince" because DTF is the King when it comes to XLB. In my head, I laughed because they literally just opened and I doubt anyone can claim to be number 2 after DTF after just opening their restaurant, especially when Din Tai Fung has been around for years. Anyways, we ordered just three dishes to try out: Pork Xiao Long Bao, Fried Chive Pocket, and Noodles with Sesame Sauce. The XLB had a strong pork smell to it that overpowered the taste so I didn't like it as much. I don't think the quality of their pork is as good as what you would get from DTF, maybe that's why they call themselves number 2 instead of number 1. Chive Pocket was probable my favorite dish here because it was crispy and hot when it came out. The noodles were mediocre and didn't have much flavor. There should be more sesame and spice to the taste but I didn't have any of it. Probably since I visited around soft opening, this underperformed my expectations but regardless, I don't think I would go back. I would rather stick to Mama Lu's or Mr. Dragon Noodle House for my XLB and dumplings.

Overall, I really enjoyed the food here but the service is what made me knock down my review from 4 to a solid 3 stars. Up until now my only “dim sum” experience has been Din Tai Fung which genuinely is a fantastic establishment where both service and food is exceptional albeit the food being a tad over priced here and there. Our first waitress was super sweet but when she left (either in break or end of shift) the next 2-3 wait staff weren’t the best. Where at other restaurants of any type of cuisine, when a new dish is brought to the table, the waiter would make an attempt to rearrange the plates to make the new one fit. Of course, myself and my party always offer our help. But here? 2 of the waiters made absolutely no effort to move any plates or even ask us for help and just stood by our table until we did something. Later a waiter wouldn’t acknowledge us when we asked for to-go containers, napkins, etc. Anyway now for the food. Cucumber salad - decent. Cucumbers were crunchy but the sauce was more oily and less flavorful than DTF. Scallop and egg fried rice - this was fantastic. Well cooked rice and great flavor with plenty of filling Rice cakes with shrimp - oh I loved these so much more than DTF. The sauce was rich and flavorful, the shrimp was soft and bouncy and the rice cakes were toasted well Scallion pancake - so thin and crispy but full of flavor Pan fried dumplings - the dumplings were so soft and juicy while the crispy layer had SO much flavor Spicy wontons - I love the DTF version so much and th sauce is way better there BUT the filling here at Prince was the star. Xiao Long Bao - delicious, full of soup, and the filling meat was a good portion and so juicy Siu Mai - a tad undercooked but packed with filling that tasted so good So overall, the food was amazing but the service really took a hit. Nothing bad enough to make me stay away and I will definitely return

Din Tai Feng dupe. The menu is so similar to that of DTF, the popular spot for soup dumplings (xiao long bao). After trying 4 dishes, I think the only thing worth getting here is the xiao long bao XLB. The shrimp and pork spicy wontons were the most disappointing! The wontons were soggy; the spicy sauce was not it. This dish at DTF tastes so much better. I do NOT recommend the spicy wontons. The spicy beef noodle soup was not spicy at all. The noodles were ok. The beef was ok. If you want good beef noodle soup, go to Dai Ho. The Dan Dan noodles tasted more like zhajiang mian (the minced pork noodles). The cucumber was so sad. The carrot was cute but who puts flower carrots in Dan Dan noodles.?! Finally the service was on the side of bad. They seemed busy and rushed from the time of seating us, to taking our order, and getting the check. Credit card/tap accepted Bathroom available Indoor seating only No WiFi You can watch them make the dumplings when you enter the restaurant.

Not your usual Dim Sum decor and services. A pleasant surprise. The foods, on the other hand, are mostly miss. Fried rice is good with a little Soy Sauce. The Chive/pork dumplings are flavorful but doughy. The Salt and Peppers pork chops are bland and the salt/peppers are rubbery.

The food didn't taste bad, it's edible, but nothing impressed me. Some food was a bit on the greasy side, and the portion was small for the price. Xiao Long Bao dough skin was excellent, holding all the soup filling without leaking. But the taste to me it's like the Costco microwave Xiao Long Bao. The service was good though. In conclusion, if you like Ding Tai Fung, but want to find a cheaper version, you can come to this place, but I won't come here again.
