DONDE EL PRODUCTO HABLA… Y ALICANTE RESPONDE En pleno corazón de Alicante, en la calle San Fernando, se encuentra La Taberna del Gourmet, uno de esos lugares que no necesitan artificios ni discursos grandilocuentes porque aquí el producto se encarga de hablar desde el primer bocado. Y cuando el producto es el protagonista, lo único sensato es escuchar… y disfrutar. Aquí se viene a lo que se viene. A comer bien. A respetar el origen. A dejar que el sabor marque el ritmo. Empezamos con una trilogía marina impecable: mejillones, ostras y tellinas que llegan a la mesa fresquísimas, limpias, directas al paladar y a la memoria. Producto desnudo, sin distracciones ni maquillaje, como debe ser cuando se confía en la calidad. Cada bocado sabe a mar, a Mediterráneo y a verdad. Seguimos con un lomo ibérico con su pan con tomate que es toda una lección de sencillez bien entendida. Porque hacer algo aparentemente simple y hacerlo realmente bien es un arte. Pan crujiente, tomate en su punto y un ibérico que demuestra que la elegancia no siempre necesita complejidad. Y el jamón ibérico, qué decir: corte preciso, textura perfecta y ese equilibrio de grasa y sabor que invita al silencio respetuoso en la mesa. De esos momentos en los que sobran las palabras. El pase caliente mantiene el listón muy alto. Un solomillo con pimientos del Padrón jugoso, sabroso y honesto, sin más intención que la de ofrecer un producto bien tratado y en su punto exacto. Y como guiño al mar más nuestro, erizos que saben a Alicante sin necesidad de explicaciones, intensos, profundos y absolutamente reconocibles. Todo ello acompañado por un Tarima Hill tinto, redondo, amable y perfectamente elegido para acompañar una cocina que mira al producto sin imponerle nada, solo acompañarlo y respetarlo. La experiencia no sería completa sin un servicio atento, cercano y profesional, de esos que saben estar, leer la mesa y acompañar sin invadir. Y el espacio acompaña con coherencia: un ambiente en el que se respira Alicante por los cuatro costados, con identidad, sin poses y sin fuegos artificiales. Aquí no hay prisas ni modas pasajeras. Hay respeto por el huerto, por el mar, por las recetas con raíces y por una manera muy clara de entender la gastronomía. Llegas por las recomendaciones, te quedas por la calidad y el trato, y cuando te das cuenta ya estás pensando en cuándo volveremos, porque hay sitios que no solo se visitan: se repiten. Gracias a todo el equipo por recordarnos, una vez más, a qué sabe Alicante cuando se cocina con alma, criterio y muchísimo respeto por el producto.

Me parece un sitiazo donde comer producto de calidad, manjares de la Terreta. Es uno de esos lugares donde la materia prima habla por sí sola. Solo hace falta cruzar la puerta para entender la filosofía del restaurante: una vitrina impresionante de erizos, ostras y mariscos fresquísimos, junto con los numerosos jamones colgados y un maestro cortador trabajando con una precisión casi hipnótica. Es una declaración de intenciones: aquí el producto es el protagonista absoluto. Su bodega, amplia y muy bien seleccionada, ofrece una variedad de caldos capaz de acompañar tanto la cocina más tradicional como las elaboraciones ligeramente más contemporáneas. Porque aunque el recetario es clásico, está muy bien ejecutado, con ese punto de mimo que convierte cada plato en algo memorable. Entre los imprescindibles, el tartar es un acierto seguro, igual que el huevo a 65 grados, un plato que demuestra técnica sin perder ese toque reconfortante. Los arroces, cómo no, cumplen sobradamente, y los pescados muestran la frescura del producto que exhiben a la entrada. Pero la realidad es que cualquier cosa de la carta está deliciosa, y se nota que la cocina trabaja con respeto y cariño hacia cada ingrediente. Y si puedes, deja un hueco para el postre: el helado de queso es sorprendente, adictivo y absolutamente brutal. Otro punto a favor es la versatilidad del espacio. Puedes elegir entre comer en la barra, en mesas altas, o en un comedor más íntimo, adaptándose perfectamente al plan: una comida con amigos, una cena tranquila… o incluso una visita en solitario para disfrutar de un homenaje gastronómico sin compañía. En todos los casos, la experiencia merece la pena. En definitiva, La Taberna del Groumet es un acierto seguro en Alicante para quienes buscan calidad, producto y cocina honesta con un toque especial.

Fuimos a comer con reserva un sábado y unas chicas antes que nosotros entraron sin reserva, supongo que porque el restaurante es bastante grande o fue algo puntual, porque había bastante gente. En general bastante bien, la comida bastante buena y el personal cercano y atento. Los platos llegaban rápido y bien de temperatura. La única pega es que se pasaron de punto de la carne, ya que lo pedimos poco hecho y estaba al punto+. Pero por lo general recomendable y con buena ubicación.

Primera vez en este restaurante, y no la última. Éramos un grupo bastante grande, 37 personas, y el trato y el ritmo a la hora de servir no sufrió nada. Un menú a compartir, con todo, todo buenísimo… espectacular el lomo, el tomate con burrata con un sabor a tomate de verdad, las croquetas y el canelón!! Y para rematar un postre que no nos pudimos dejar… ojo a la tata de queso!!! Enhorabuena!

The most fun place we went to in Alicante. Cheap, cheerful, and delicious. Rather than ordering, waiters walk around with tapas on wooden planks and you take what looks good. It’s such a fun way to experience the local food and try things you wouldn’t ordinarily order. The calamari was hot and fresh and the best we had in Spain. Definitely worth a visit!

A very nice restaurant concept where waiters serve drinks and then carry mini tacos from table to table and the guests take what they want. There is no ordering, everything costs the same, plates and wooden boards are collected and you are charged based on that when you finish. Everything is fresh, warm and delicious. It's usually crowded and you have to wait a bit until a place becomes available, but it's worth the wait. The waiters are nice, but mostly they don't know english, so sometimes we didn't know what we were getting until we tried it.

A great experience. Staff bring around freshly cooked tapas on wooden blocks, you chose whatever you fancy and pile up the blocks, jenga fashion. At the end of your visit, they simply count up your blocks and glasses and you're charged accordingly. A far better experience than the usual tapas bars, where people are jostling for position at the counter.

Listen you pay for what you get and what you get is cheap food, great service and some hilarious reality tv shows. My partner and I loved it here, I think we stacked 18 in the end because we turned up so hungry! At first we walked in and had no idea why they were giving us the food, but they basically come around with a tray asking what you would like, take what you want and pay for it. Simple really! Bring your own tissues and wipes as it gets quite messy and the tissues aren’t that good.

We really enjoyed picking from the trays filled with little wooden boards, each offering something different. We made it our mission to try as many as possible, and we loved every single one! It’s also awesome that everything is priced the same, which makes it super easy. We paired our meal with some refreshing tinto de verano, and it was perfect! The whole atmosphere was so much fun and interactive, especially counting the boards to see how many we devoured and figuring out the bill. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our time there truly unforgettable. We didn’t wait much for a table but there was a big line when we were leaving, it is definitely a very popular place and we can see why! Can’t wait to go back!

Went before lunch so we got seated right away. Similar to a concept of a conveyor belt sushi. You sit and they ask for your initial order of tapas (choice between 6/10/12 tablas). Then at any given time, they bring out different tapa, and you just take whatever you want. We initially tried the 6 pcs ("tablas" because each were placed on a block of wood). Then had an exciting time waiting for which they're going to bring out. The food's great --- highlight would be the fried anchovy and paella (which is one of the best we've tried in Alicante). 👌🏻⭐️ Very budget friendly. By the time we're finished, there's already a queue outside.

This is a 5-star tapas bar. A few caveats. It's tapas not fine cuisine so know that when I say 5-star is from this tapas bar perspective. Servers were good - note that this tapas bar serves food on a "block" or in a small bowl. There is no menu but instead servers simply walk around with varias tapas. You take what you like. In the end, you pay $1.50€ for every block or bowl you got. It was fun, always being surprised by whats "walking around"!! However this place does NOT have a traditional Tapas bar ambiance. It looks more like a small cafeteria or fast food restaurant, just with better food. Also, the floors were quite dirty with food scraps napkins and other debris. Those couple of things hurt my view of ambiance. But this is one of the better tapas places in Alicante.

Traveling solo usually means food FOMO… but tapas saves the day, and is one of the primary things I was looking forward to in this trip. This restaurant takes it a step further - servers walk around with trays of freshly made tapas. It's like dimsum cart service. My stack of plates wasn't as high as I wanted it to be though. 😂 The items were alright, but the experience is pretty amazing. As another fellow traveler sitting next to me mentioned, "it's a rolling parade of bites coming straight to you".

Hice una reserva para pasar un momento agradable porque ya había estado en otra ocasión y la comida estaba muy buena, el vino y la atención de 1 de los camareros. Llamarme quisquilloso pero estar escuchando 10min a la otra camarera recomendar a la mesa de alado otro restaurante y obviamente te quedes esperando a que te atienda....queda bastante feo.

Me pareció caro para lo que ofrece. La comida correcta, pero nada especial. Lo mejor fue la alcachofa, muy rica. Las croquetas solo sabían a bechamel, no noté el jamón ibérico por ningún sitio. Además, no entiendo lo de servir las salsas con cucharitas de madera diminutas, resulta incómodo. En general, una experiencia que no está a la altura de las espectativas ni del precio. Una lástima.

Éramos 3 personas (cuenta de 165€), y el camarero intentó cobrarnos deliberadamente el menú de 4 personas de la mesa de al lado. Al reclamar el error, el camarero tuvo la cara dura de decir que esto era "NORMAL". No, no es normal pagar por lo que no has comido en ningún sitio. Tuve que llamar al responsable para que corrigieran la cuenta. Es una táctica de estafa descarada. Si vienen por la comida, REVISEN CADA LÍNEA DE LA CUENTA. No dejen que les engañen diciendo que cobrar de más es "normal". Una decepción absoluta para un sitio recomendado por la Guía Michelin. The food at La Taberna del Gourmet is good, but the service integrity is a disgrace. We were a group of 3 (bill: €165), but the waiter deliberately handed us a bill for a 4-person menu from the neighboring table. When I pointed out that the headcount and items were wrong, the waiter actually had the audacity to tell me it was "NORMAL." No, it is NOT normal to pay for someone else's food in any civilized restaurant. I had to demand to speak with the manager (Leader) to get the bill corrected. This is a classic tourist trap tactic: overcharging and then gaslighting the customer when caught. If you decide to eat here for the food, CHECK EVERY LINE OF YOUR BILL. Do not let them tell you that overcharging is "normal." Truly disappointed for a Michelin-selected establishment.

A disappointing visit on a Tuesday afternoon in November. Was highly recommended by a friend and it was almost full. We took what turned out to be the " Dead Zone " by the far window. The drink waiter was fine but this position is the furthest from the kitchen. The food servers emerge from the kitchen with platters of food but by the time they almost reached us it had gone. Tables near us were piled high with empties but still they took more. Seagulls in the UK have nothing on hungry Spanish families. We did get one last tapas dish of fries and one last tapas dish of chicken stew but watched as everything else was taken before we got a look in. People were queueing up to get in as we left. Do not sit in the far window seat, Try and get near the kitchen.
