Dunes Beach Bar & Restaurant

A repetir.

We went yesterday late afternoon after taking the dogs for a walk. We had three children with us and two dogs and we sat outside. Ryan went out of his way, and without us asking, brought out an outdoor heater, and a bowl of water for the dogs. What a lovely man. Thank you! A great place to relax and be taken care of on a cold winters evening.

Had an early dinner here after a day at the beach. Casual friendly spot with regulars as i saw the staff greet several tables like they knew them well. Service was excellent, loved the view over the wild area next to the beach and the ocean in the background. I had the piri piri chicken (get double sauce) and herself had the fish of the day which she said was very nice.

The location of the restaurant is amazing. The restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. However, it took them 2 hours to serve us our food, there were other tables that came after us and got served before us. Appetizers came after 1 hour of ordering, mains came 1 hour after the appetizers, absolutely unacceptable. As for the food, even not considering the price, was rather mediocre, unsure if we ordered the wrong items. The Salmon medallion was doused in a sauce that tasted good, but completely masked the flavor of the salmon, the steak was unevenly cooked and just was average. Our waiter was nice and attentive, but at the end of the day, it took them 2 hours to serve us. The portions are ok, the price is not justified given the quality/portions. I am unsure if we just were unfortunate, but I do hope some changes are made. Thank you.

I started with a Margarita from the cocktail menu, but it was overwhelmingly strong with vodka, completely changing the drink's intended flavor. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do. I ended up ordering a juice just to dilute it. For the main course, I ordered the "Salmon Medallion / Salmon with Pink Sauce". Besides arriving last at a table of 15 (with a noticeable delay), the dish came entirely different from what was described on the menu: the pink sauce was replaced with a white one, and instead of mashed potatoes, I was served fries — all without any prior warning or apology. That said, the salmon itself was well cooked. When it was time to pay, I asked if they accepted meal cards. The waitress said no, but I decided to try it anyway, and the payment went through without any issues. Conclusion: The restaurant has potential and a very nice setting, but service and attention to detail need improvement. Unfortunately, this was an experience I won’t be repeating this summer.

Morning breakfast, the food and coffee lovely, service very patchy. First told we could sit anywhere - pretty empty, then asked to move to a table for two in the corner a couple of inches from another table.. Food arrives promptly and actually ok. Then the owner came to take bill at the end, a little pushy on a 5% or 10% tip, I would have gone higher without the prompt. Then a quick dash to the loo before heading back on the walk home before my wife being asked by another member of staff if we had paid?? A little rude and some coaching needed for the staff. Apart from that food was fine and a nice setting.. Would grab a takeaway again but not likely sit down.
