This was me and my wife's 1st time eating at this restaurant. Best come hungry, is all I can say. We both decided on the double cheese burgers, loaded...I'm sure my burger could stop world hunger...holy cow...literally!!! I thought my burger moo'd at me, it was so large. Absolute goodness. Thank you. My wife couldn't finish hers..awesome.

A friend suggested Blu Sky burger restaurant to me about a month ago. Today I happened to be in the area and decided to give it a try. The restaurant consists of a large open space dining area when an assortment of tables and chairs. The ordering process takes place at the counter as soon as you walk in, and then you just watch for your number. At its core, it’s a build your own burger type of process, with staple items such as hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, and double cheeseburger. Then there are the add ons like grilled onions, jalapeños, etc. I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions, jalapeños, and green chilis with a side of fries. I’m glad I stopped in, as the burger was the best that I’ve had in some time. I’m glad I stopped in and I wouldn’t mind coming back when I’m nearby at lunch time.

The food was delicious, got a burger with chili. Everytime I pass through Amarillo coming from Dallas, I make it a point to stop here and get a burger.

Best hamburgers on interstate 40! Need to try the fried green Chile strips (they can them Anaheim peppers)! If you got the time eat in and get a shake or some flavored teas.

The food was delicious! After moving to California for a year, I started to miss seasoned food, and their burger hit the spot. Moist flavorful and yet crispy. 👌 😋 👌 I'd advise anyone driving by to grab a bite and get a taste of southern flavor.

Food was excellent, and this place has the crunchiest sweet potato fries I have ever had. A little pricey but worth it. Fenced-in outdoor porch area allows your toddler to stretch their legs and play in the sand. Staff was friendly and responsive. High chairs need to be cleaned.

Tried this place for the first time while in town. The burgers I must say are very good. If you are craving a burger this is the place. The frys and onion rings were good too, just a bit greasy but very good flavor and you could tell they were homemade. The atmosphere of The place was also nice.

Great burger restaurant. One of the best I've had anywhere. Got mine with grilled onions, pepper jack cheese and grilled peppers. It was cooked perfect. Sweet potato fries were decent. Onion rings looked better, which I'll get next time.

We went through the drive-thru thinking we could order, not realizing it was just a pickup, since we always eat inside the restaurant. I am always on the lookout for great onion rings and a good burger to go with them. It’s not always easy to find a place where both are really good. We were passing through and I was Googling onion rings and Blue Sky popped up. We have it a try since it was convenient right off of the interstate. We were not disappointed! It has been a while and every time the picture of my food pops up on my iPad I wish I had a good reason to head to Amarillo!

We chowed down before ai could get a good photo of the food. It was definitely a 5 star in all accounts. Great service and quick. Fantastic burgers, great fries and fried jalapeños, Greek salad was super fresh, and the strawberry shake was thick and made with fresh strawberries! We have high standards and this place exceeded them. Thanks Blue Sky! We’ll be back next time we drive through.

Blue Sky is one of my wife’s favorite burger places of all time. She had a bacon cheeseburger and I had the green chile cheeseburger. We ordered a half and half order of tater tots and onion rings, and their green chile fries. Both of our burgers were very delicious. The onion rings were house made and had great flavor. The green chile fries were terrific and the ranch dressing perfectly complimented it. If you’re in Amarillo, definitely stop here if you want a great burger.

Excellent burgers and service seriously! A bit pricey but it is so worth it! You won't be disappointed, I never am. I always receive the absolute best service here and the staff so helpful. Even if the line is long, the wait is not. I come here a lot and I love the protein meal with onion rings. The Frito pie is also a favorite.

Great food, nice employees, comfortable atmosphere. Everything is separate, orders do not come as combo meals.

I've been seeing these juicy, delicious, cheesy burgers on Instagram and got to craving. I ordered the Bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and now I'm in a food coma. It was phenomenal. If I still drank, I would have washed it down with a cold brew. The Dr. Pepper was refreshing though. Please come to Blue Sky if you want a great burger, you will not be disappointed.

My family and I have been coming to this blue sky location on Fridays since they opened. It never disappoints. The food is always really good and the atmosphere is even better. Robert the manager is so friendly and knows his customers names by heart when they walk in. He is always walking around making sure everyone is doing okay while they are eating. He makes sure this place is ran very smooth and makes it inviting. One of the best restaurants in Amarillo.

Very impressed with the burgers. They were huge, juicy and well seasoned. I had a cheeseburger. It was thick, had a nice amount of cheese the meat was cooked a perfect medium and the veggies were very fresh. Also ordered onion strings. They were delicious as well. My mom got a regular burger no cheese and she was very impressed with her meal as well. We ordered our food to go and picked up and the drive thru window. Order was ready in a timely manner and everything was correct. It was a bit on the proxy side but overall good experience. We will be back.

Excellent, well mannered staff and in my estimation, the burgers were absolutely worth the hype. In addition, there was an excellent selection of Teas, soft drinks and condiments for the fries and burger. The prices were fair and the service was fast.

BLUE SKY STAFF & FOOD!! This place was an unexpected delight for weary travelers. Restrooms clean, food delicious, staff beyond friendly and welcoming… even let us bring our pooch on the patio to sit in the shade. Hubby had the green Chile cheeseburger with amazing onion rings. Amarillo has some of the best restaurants anywhere. Just as Abuelos is probably the best Mexican food I've ever had, Blue Sky is probably the best burger I've ever had. And it shows--people LOVE to eat out in Amarillo. Green Chili Burger is hard to beat, and I usually pay a little extra to add grilled onions.

The burgers here were so good! We had been traveling through the area and had to stop by here. The servings are perfectly sized to fill you up. We each got fries and the green chili burger. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the Amarillo area.

I was surprised that the greasy hamburger joint had a really good grilled chicken sandwich. The atmosphere was very fun and family friendly. It was overall a really fun place.

Blue Sky Amarillo is delicious. My favorites: Blue Sky "Steak" & Fries (Definitely try this!) Chicken Tenders w/ Fries & Cream Gravy Their tea selection is great! I recommend the coconut. Both locations are typically packed. Call ahead and pick up a to-go order if you're not in the mood for a crowd. The I-40 location is one of my favorite restaurants. When I worked near there, I frequently dined in. Even though they're so busy, they manage to be friendly and personable.

Been here three or four times.. It's always great.. Kinda pricey, but hand cut fries and fresh pressed meat. If I could make one change it would be to caramelize the grilled onions and put them on the burger instead of in a little cup.. Great selection of menu items and many tea flavors.. Highly recommended..

Have passed this place multiple times on i-40 and always wondered about it. I was searching food spots in Amarillo and this one popped up and checked all the boxes. Local, highly rated, and good food! Pulled up and immediately smelt the grill and my mouth started watering. A long line went fairly quickly. The burgers were amazing. Reminded me of whataburger flavor, but just better. The fries are the bomb, and their onion rings are unique and excellent as well. Just a note... they have lawrys season all seasoning at every table for a reason! Atmosphere has a friendly family bar like feel if that makes sence. Definitely a place for the fam, but has an open bar feel like hooters. You wont regret stopping in. Easy on off access fron the interstate.

I recently visited Blue Sky and was reminded why it remains a standout. The burger itself was one of the best I’ve had in quite some time. As impressive as the burger was, my true favorite is the bacon cheese fries and ranch. Equally noteworthy was the hospitality. The staff delivered warm, attentive service that elevated the entire experience. Blue Sky continues to set the bar high with both its food and its customer care. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality comfort food and genuine Texas hospitality.

The food here is awesome. the burgers are thick and juicy best of all they don't cook them til there shoe leather. the chicken sandwich is equally awesome and the onion rings are delicious. the selection of drinks include several different flavors of ice tea including one I've never had before Coconut i tried it and it was good. the service is great you walk in and order at the counter then sit down and wait until your ticket number shows up on the screen. there is a wide selection of condiments for your sandwich. the restaurant is located on I-40 so if traveling thru Amarillo and get hungry. stop in it's a short distance from the highway exit. so stop in and enjoy an excellent meal.

This is a 5 star burger joint. I have had a few burgers here; but I tend to get the steak sandwich. About the only place that makes steak sandwiches any more. Always very tasty, the season the patties and toast the bun. You can get your burger or steak sandwich any way yogi like it. When I'm in Amarillo stay lunch time, this is my go to place. I just love their food. There are two of them in Amarillo; this one is the busiest one because it's close to the interstate, right off I-40. One of my favorite places in Amarillo!! Of you're looking for a good steak sandwich or hamburger this is a good place. Peace ✌️

First time visiting. Was unsure about how much food we were getting when ordering. Well, the double bacon cheeseburger for me should have been a single. The chili sticks(fried Anaheim pepper strips) were amazing! But here again, a small was plenty. Wife had a small chili cheese fries and she really needed half of that. They were really good and the hamburgers were very good as well. Definitely recommend. Will return again.

Ate here with my wife to get some cheap burgers. I have never eaten at blue sky before but have heard nothing but good things. The food that we got was pretty good. For the price, you get a very big burger and a lot of fries. I would definitely come here to eat an again if in the mood for a good burger for a good price.

When we travel cross country between Canada-Oklahoma-California, and back, if possible, we always make a point to stop here for their top notch hamburger and fries. It hasn't failed us yet! This place is very busy but the staff seem to have the service down pat in a way that they keep the line moving. The establishment is clean and large enough to accommodate a lot of people—with plenty of tables and chairs. We always order the cheeseburger and fries. The buns are fresh and soft but manageable enough even to the last bite. The toppings are quite fresh and satisfying. The fries are always hot and crispy. If you happen to be passing by I-40 Amarillo TX—go and get in line for one of the best—if not the best hamburger you've ever had!! I can't wait for the next road trip!

Great place for a tasty burger! Line gets a little long around lunch time but things move quickly. Once you order the food comes out quickly. They have the best buns! Soft and buttery, but sturdy enough to not come alert from the juice. The green chili anything is great (burger, cheese fries, etc). Their hand cut fries are really tasty. Haven’t had the chicken fried steak myself but someone in my group had it and really enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Food here was/is delicious, I got to go with my husband and my 3 girls before my husband traveled out of state due to work. It was our first time here and we loved everything we ordered. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, kids meal which had 2 mini cheeseburgers and fries, chicken burgers, & on the side we ordered 1/2 fries & 1/2 onion rings and drinks which are sold separately... they’re aren’t combos so burgers, sides and drinks are sold separately, only kids meals included fries and it’s about $4.99 each kids meal (drink not included). The onion ring are really good, fries & tots are so delicious as well, we absolutely loved the food. The employees were amazing, they missed my daughters burger and they told us to take a seat and they would bring the order to us, which they did. The place was clean, employees were very friendly always smiling and making sure you were doing ok...this place is just a great place to hang out.

Great burger, good add-on options. The green chile cheese fries were a bit greasy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Easy access to the highway if you're just passing through.

Always a good place to stop for food when I25 gets too much! Conveniently next to the highway and never disappoints!

Excellent fried mushrooms, just what I was craving.

I got the cheese steak sandwich. The hamburger had good flavor and was obviously real meat with no fillers but seemed a bit on the skinny side for the price. In the past I have gotten the protein plate and it was excellent with enough food for leftovers the next day. Their shakes are good, rich and creamy. I had heard their hamburgers were the best in town but it's hard to beat the burgers at Coyote Bluff and Golden Light Cafe.

Good burgers, I wish the patties were a little thicker but I understand this is a high volume restaurant and the patties are flattened to cook faster. You get a large portion of fries but they are a bit too greasy. The dining room is always clean and the staff are nice.

The burgers are very very good. The milkshake was extremely delicious, made with Blue Bell Ice Cream. The customer service was great. Bathrooms were dirty.

This bacon cheese burger with a side of small freshly cut fries was a good lunch. My wife ordered the Protein Diet Blue Plate Special with side garden salad. She enjoyed the main meal but was surprised with the celery in the salad. Overall, it was a good meal.

My food was hot and tasty. I ordered a kid's meal and I have leftovers. I asked if cream gravy came with the chicken tenders. The man who took my order said no. When we picked up the order, I had cream gravy with no additional charge.

A family friend recommended Blue Sky burgers. This place is terrific.! The only reason I gave four stars, because my jalapenos and grilled onions were not on my burger. The food was still mouth wateringly delicious. I would definitely pass this recommendation on to everyone, give this place a try at least once or twice, or however many times you want, you'll still love it. It's located in Amarillo Tx. First time here. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with everything on it and ceaser salad. The burger was great. Just a good ol' fashioned burger. Really hit the spot. The salad was pretty good. I think next time I'd try the garden with ranch. The service was fine. You order at the counter, get your drink cup, and wait for them to yell out your number. So, there's not much service. The staff greeted me when I came in, pointed me to the menu, and we're overall friendly. Atmosphere was nice. I think I was in before the dinner rush. So, it was a little more quiet, which I enjoyed. The decor is really nice and has a good vibe. If your in the area and want a class take on a burger, you might want to give this a try.

Most impressive to us was the variety of tea they offered at their self-serve drink fountain. We recommend Coconut tea. This place truly lives up to its reputation. The Fried Onion Rings were a disappointment, but all the other food was outstanding. It was $38.05 for one Chicken Sandwich and One Cheeseburger, One split order of Fries and Rings, and two medium drinks. We would rate the place 4.5 out of 5 but since we cannot do that, we give it a solid four. Only because the onion rings were limp and soggy.

Only for Thurs, 08-07-2025 Experience: I have never had a a bad meal from Blue Sky until yesterday. I was there a little after 8:30p and they close at 9p so I ordered To Go (Order 9 if they want to look it up. I got a large order of Fried Mushrooms...they were great as usual. The problem was with the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with mayo. It was slightly dry and chewy plus it wasn't 1 piece but seemed to be 3 with a big piece and smaller piece slightly together and medium sized piece that was separate. When I picked the bun it fell apart and I couldn't get it to stay together. Hard to hold, messy, and difficult to eat. Took a few bites and it was dry and chewy. I finished less than half and stopped. Really disappointing but as I said the Mushrooms were great. And I will say I've never had a bad burger or cheesesteak which I usually get. Not sure what happened but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Oh, there are no combos, you have to order everything separate. The atmosphere was chill and it was a clean establishment. For me personally, I wouldn't go back. Not because it was bad but it just wasn't enough to impress me to spend that type of money for a second time.

3 of 3 orders wrong on 1st order, followed by 2 of 3 wrong upon replacement. Serious potential for food allergy exposure and food intolerance exposure. 2 of my guests ate half to a third of their food. I ate mine. Mocha shake was good. Manager listened patiently and to his credit went so far as to refund the ENTIRE order.

I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always on point. So this is the first time I wasn't happy. I can't always eat bread so I get lettuce wraps. The lettuce my burger was wrapped was old and wilted and so brown at the ends. I'm not picky so I picked it off only to see that the rest of lettuce in my burger was not good either. Tasted old and slimy. Thank goodness for bacon cheese 🍟

It was my first there. Thankfully we got there before the lunch rush. My one complaint was that everything we ordered seemed to have been salted by more than one cook!!!!! The French fries and onion rings seemed to be the saltiest. The employees were nice but our bodies weren't can't tolerate that much salt in our systems. And I didn't expect the decor to be totally advertising alcohol. I ordered chicken fried steak and fries. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings. Maybe some others might and will have a better experience

Not cheap at all. You could get a steak some places. Not saying food is bad however, this is a burger joint!!!! I have to feed a family. $20 for each person really?

If you're going for the hamburger? It needs work, too chewy the meat. Fries great, chicken don't waist My time. Want tender juicy burger? Five guys 10 times better.

We picked this based on reviews buttttt our food was awful. It was a to go- they left off added ingredients on the burger but still charged us. The salad sounded so good on the menu-it was ice burg lettuce and poor quality ingredients. No plastic ware for salad, no dressing on salad, no ketchup for kids meal w fries, no napkins. Food is at best - just edible.

Not a customer-friendly experience. We placed our order and paid, but realized we were never asked if it was for here or to-go. I told the staff member “to-go, please,” and she walked off with an eye roll—presumably to check or change the ticket. When our food was ready, it wasn’t packed to-go, and despite asking for no pickles on my burger, it came with pickles anyway. Definitely not the experience you’d get at the Lubbock establishment.

Place was busy and everything was moving fast! Kind of bland tasting. Beef patty was huge, and cooked well, not dry or dense like a hockey puck. We ordered to go, and my burger was kind of a soggy mess from the steam in the take out container. Maybe wrapping the burgers in a paper wrapper would prevent the soggy build up in the Styrofoam container. The fries we're limp and slimy. I prefer a crispy fry, there was no crisp at all. Cost was just over 20 bucks for 2 burgers, one order of fries and one drink. Don't think I'll ever be back, food was just a wet mushy mess.

Over priced, not friendly and not very clean. So much food on the floor by the grill. Total for 3 people 75.00 don’t waste your money here.

Although the food was amazing, we did not enjoy our experience. What I assume to be a manager, I overheard her name was Jasmine from other employees talking about the exchange, is extremely unprofessional and appears to not understand customer service. I understand the service industry is nuts ; however, she was yelling and getting into screaming matches with employees in-front of us and other customers. I am not saying the other employees are in the right, but as a manager, you should have self control to know to act accordingly infront of customers. She was incredibly rude, rolled her eyes at us and the others customers that overheard the exchange, and walked away. The longer we sat and ate, the more we could hear her yelling from inside the kitchen at employees. We love this establishment and have eaten here many times when we come to town, but will not be back if this persists.

Onion rings were terrible cold and just a lumpy mess.The price you pay for everything individually a la carte... The burger itself was burnt..the bun was a soggy mess...i had to return food twice and swap rings for fries....which we not any better...they smelled burnt...oil needs to be changed in fryer.....staff seemed ok....manager was nice....food substandard for 23 bucks.... Have to agree with one of the other patrons.I've had better meals at mcdonald's

Mid and overrated. I was told Texas had good food and I’m just not tasting it. Cashier was nice but you have to come pick up your order from the counter when you see your number so it’s basically overpriced fast food. It has an inoperable drive thru with limited parking. $15 for a burger, fries NOT Included. I actually know the brand of the frozen wing-zings that they pass off as their own that can be purchase from Chef’store…….. Wasn’t worth it in my opinion.

Traveling from AZ to IL, we grabbed carry-out on our way to the hotel. Searched burger joints on app near hotel, Blue Sky had 4.6 rating and glowing reviews. Ordered inside, sign says burgers are pink, specify well done if desired. First cheeseburger, pink, mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion. Second burger, well done, mayo, ketchup, lettuce tomato, large fries, large tater tots. Ten-minute wait, $32, take away to hotel, five-minute drive. Sat in hotel lobby immediately to eat before checking in. Both burgers beyond well-done and dry like hockey pucks, first burger no onion, second burger no lettuce or tomato. The large fries and large tater tots are enormous but saturated in oil and smelled like old oil. The burger was thin and wouldn't have been good even if not severely overcooked. A few fries or tater tots were all we could stomach. I called, spoke to the manager, he apologized and offered to credit our card, but I refused. Wanted to return to give them a chance to make the order correctly but it was after 8:30 and they close at 9pm. I would much rather have gone to Culver's, Burger King, Wendy's or even McD's (which I hate) over this place. Would give zero stars but one is the lowest possible.

The wings were small and there were like 3 of them missing meat on them and it’s like they threw them straight in my box without letting them dry completely because the plastic was burnt up the onion rings were not whole just crusty on one side just thrown together I am very unhappy but I asked did all of them look that way the guy said yes and walked off.

One person can ruin an entire experience. From what I witnessed, to my own experience, this one staff member (late teens/early 20s) was veraciously rude to the patrons. I do not care how good the food is, no amount of culinary delight replaces a bad experience. Yes, the house cut fries and homemade onion rings were good, but our burgers were incredibly dry, chewy, and not dressed as ordered, the chicken strips were so tough our child nor us could eat them. The kicker is, we ordered BBQ sauce with our onion rings, it was missed by the lady taking the order. When I asked for it the rude staff member said that will be 54¢ AFTER she checked the ticket and said it wasn't on there so I did not order it and am just trying to get something for free. I said we just spent over $50 on food, seriously? She said yes if my computer tells me that I have to charge it. Will not be back.

Would give 0 stars if I could. we called & placed an order to go, my burger was super pink inside & I specifically asked for NO TOMATOES, NO ONIONS & NO MUSTARD. guess what I got, a sloppy raw burger with everything on it that i asked not for. such a huge disappointment & waste of almost 30 bucks! smh & their onion rings suck! ew. i tried calling 3 times but lines were busy. what a over priced over hyped burger joint. will not be back ever again. Stay away if you usually get modifications on your food.

Build your own Burger... Not! Order was for 3 build your own burgers. None were made correctly & 2 were wrong the 2nd time. Fries & onion rings were gross & greasy. For $65 I expected better... just nasty & unedible.

We had dinner at the I-40 Blue Sky last night 12.12.25. You can color me NOT impressed. The onion rings were cold and weird. My burger was wayyy overdone. For over $40 for two burgers, onion rings and ice teas the meal was overpriced and under delivered. The staff was uninterested in the customer. Overall, I've had better meals at McDonald's. I would not recommend this burger joint.

We may as well have gotten Whataburger. The food was average and the service was awful. I called in my family’s order for takeout, but when I got back to my hotel room I noticed they neglected to include my daughter’s chicken tender meal. When I called the restaurant back, I was rudely told I could “just come back and get it”, because they do not deliver. Upon returning, I was offered no further apology, so I asked for a refund on that missing item. The window server rolled her eyes but then took my card to process a refund. I then said we were not given any condiments, which she (again rudely) replied “did you ask for any?” I was eventually given a few packets of ketchup and mustard/mayo containers, but this is the first place I’ve been to where they’re not automatically provided with a meal. One last complaint. My husband ordered the Blue Sky Texas Cheesesteak, which was under the “sandwich” section…. But there was no bread (picture below). I had to buy a bun to make the meal into a sandwich. Overall, mediocre food and awful customer service. Don’t bother wasting money here, you’re better off getting a fast food burger.
