Rustic country atmosphere, friendly service, our glasses never went below half, McKenzie was our server and anticipated our evey need. The food was all homemade and so fresh and hot, my baked potato was steaming still when I packed it in a to go box!

Voted the best and it was. Green Chili Chicken Fried Steak was a good spin on CFS. Great peach cobbler too. Come expecting a line but worth the wait.

The Jack ribeye is very good. I eat at the best steakhouses across the country trying to rate them and I would rate this ribeye a 7.8. Definitely in the top five of Amarillo in my opinion.

This was the most decadent pecan pie a la mode I've ever had in all my years on this earth. It was drizzled with caramel & a rich chocolate sauce that added to this perfection called dessert. Plus, the homemade french fries, patty melt, steak, and fried okra were also super delicious. The waitress was very attentive, got our whole order right, and made the visit pleasant.

Glad we were able to dine here. I ordered the CFS Jimmy’s Sampler. If I had to rank them: 1. jalapeño gravy 2. green chile sauce 3. traditional white gravy. I’m very tempted to go for a full jalapeño gravy CFS next time. Their fresh cut fries were meant to be dipped in CFS gravy/sauce. Green chile mac & cheese was pretty good. I was tempted to try their fried pies w/ ice cream, but the entree was very filling.

This place was recommended to us and I’m so glad we visited! As soon as you enter they’re so welcoming, our server was a woman who was incredibly kind - she was so gracious and we had a great dinner! Definitely will be coming back to leave room for dessert! ❤️🤠 Thank you for being such a wonderful local spot to try!

This is a Texas Panhandle Treasure and a MUST stop if you are in Amarillo. I have eaten at numerous steakhouses in Texas and across the country, but nothing beats this place. The food is Delicious, the steaks are perfectly cooked, the side items are amazing, and the desserts are outstanding. The service is fabulous! KUDOS to Jennifer who waited on me on 7.12.2024. I will definitely eat here again and I Highly appreciate this place.

I wanted to go somewhere different for a chicken fried steak. I had the jalapeño chicken fried steak. Was nervous about the spice but the waitress offered to put the gravy on the side. I was AMAZING!! Did not like the Texas Toast but everything else was great. Had the banana pudding to go for dessert.🤤

We are staying in Amarillo, and our place that we are staying recommended Green Chile Willy's. It was well worth the long trip across the city. The restaurant is definitely local with a great local atmosphere. The wait staff is really fantastic. She answered all of our questions, made recommendations, and kept our glasses full. My wife and I both ordered the same thing. We had the green chile chicken fried steak with a side order of salad and fries. The salad was nicely prepared and was quite large. It was very good. The green chile chicken fried steak was delicious. The gravy had some heat, which was good. The steak was a little burnt around the edges, but the quality was good. The fries were also very good. The servings are huge. It's definitely a Texas size meal. We can see why the locals enjoy coming here.

Green Chili Willie’s | Classic Texas Diner Vibes with a Few Surprises After a lot of convincing, I finally got my husband to check out Green Chili Willie’s with me. We walked into a packed (and surprisingly huge) waiting room and waited about 45 minutes, which seems to be the norm. While I was in the restroom, a loud argument broke out over someone’s kids—definitely not what I expected during dinner—but the owner stepped in quickly and shut it down. Props to him for handling it. Once seated, the service was fast and friendly. The staff were clearly busy but still on top of things. We both ordered chicken fried steak—his with jalapeño gravy, mine with the regular. His was a little too crispy (borderline burnt), while mine was cooked just right. The sides were the real winners here: the green chili mac and cheese was flavorful and creamy, and the loaded baked potato hit the spot. We finished off with dessert. I tried their deep-fried pie—definitely the highlight of the night—and my husband went for the banana pudding, which he said was solid. Overall? Green Chili Willie’s is good, no-frills dinner food. Nothing fancy, just hearty plates and a casual Texas atmosphere. Not sure I’d wait 45 minutes again, but for a comfort food fix, it gets the job done.

Green Chile Willy's offers good country-style cooking. We stop in occasionally for a chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, or a burger. On our most recent visit my partner got the jalapeno chicken-fried steak and I did the chicken-fried chicken. Both had hearty nostalgic flavors, like food grandma used to make. We also shared the fried cheese and it was a nice savory starter. Service is warm and welcoming. It's a great spot to get a taste of the Panhandle.

So good! The wait was long, but worth it. The plates were big; I shared my green chili chicken fried steak comfortably. We asked for extra gravy and server brought a whole plate of it for the table- very generous! The fried pecan pie was incredible; such a good blend of salty and sweet! First time coming here because of the reviews. I ordered the jalapeño chicken fried steak and my husband ordered the 14oz steak. For starters the waitress forgot to ask my husband how he liked to steak. When it was brought out it was basically raw. The gravy mix was okay. Definitely not the best of the best. The chicken fried steak you could tell had not been seasoned so it was very bland. Both mine and my husbands mashed potatoes we're cold. My husband ordered the side salad or shall I say pure iceberg lettuce with two cherry tomatoes and one slice of onion. Definitely one of that sadest "salad" I have ever seen in my life. The ice water tastes like it was scooped out of the toilet. With as much money that this place is bringing in you think that they could at least afford a 5 gallon Culligan water. The plastic cups and the plates are so outdated. I don't even know if they make them anymore. I was super excited to try this place out but unfortunately it wasn't our cup of tea and will not return. First impressions are important.
