My favorite stinky tofu is have been able to find here in US.
Authentic Taiwanese restaurant (prolly the LAST one) owned and operated by Taiwanese people. Ground pork rice is the best dish and I liked their fried pork chop as well as simmered pork feet too. Add a bowl of squid soup or a side of broiled veggies and this will make a complete Taiwanese meal.
The best place to get stinky tofu and Taiwanese food in Irvine/ OC. The tofu is not as stinky as in Taiwan but texture and flavor are both on point. Also the other Taiwanese dishes are all authentic and good. It’s a must have for me every time I’m back in the area. If you can ignore the Irvine price vs the Taiwanese street food price then it’s an experience every time.
The stinky tofu is a must try! Sooooo delicious
Always a to go place for me and my family when we don’t know what to eat. The food is authentic, so do the owners 😆 highly recommend this place if you are also a Taiwanese food lover!
Very good. Friendly people. Scrumptious stinky tofu
Good stinky tofu and braised pork rice.
This place is relatively close to where I live. Besides being cash only, I can't find any cons about this place - it's traditional, home-style taiwanese food. It's cheap, not terribly greasy, and good quality - the braised pork belly is among the best I've had (locally, anyway). They also to to-go boxes, so you can be in and out within 15 minutes. Note, they don't speak English well here, but menu pointing works just fine.
Don't know the Chinese name, but they have a delicious dish here: diced/minced pork in a sauce, served over rice in a bowl. Very good. $5.50. Staff is always friendly to me. Just off the 5 at Jeffrey Rd.
Tried the porkchop rice and dan dan noodle they were good. If anyone wanna try the noodle you might want to ask more peanut sauce dan sesame oil into the noodle. Let me know!
Authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Taste is origin. Some are as good as those in Taiwan. One of my top choice in the neighbourhood. Uniqueness: 8 Value: 9 Experience: 8
Pretty authentic Taiwanese food and snacks. Fried Chicken over rice is delish. Stinky tofu both steamed and fried are decent if that is your cup of tea. Friendly service and low key atmosphere.
Authentic Taiwanese cuisine. The stinky tofu is very delicious and good served with kimchi. Every dish is made with the authentic Taiwanese taste. The owner is very friendly and nice. We arrived the store around 7:30pm which is the time of closing. But the owner was very friendly and polite asked us to order foods. Highly recommended.
The people here are nice. I liked most of the food.
This place is by far the best taiwanese restaurant in town. The price is very reasonable, and the food is very authentic. Got to check this place out if you enjoy the Taiwanese style of cuisine.
No longer a cash only restaurant, they require a minimum to run a credit card. One of our favorite places for Taiwanese cuisine and especially the stinky tofu— one of the best places in LA. Need to add the chili sauce to the tofu and the preserved cabbage to complete the true Taiwan experience.
Tried the stinky tofu. Comes with a really good spicy sauce that really complements the crunchiness of the tofu! They also have other vegan options like the spicy version of this same dish that I am looking forward to try sometime. Be warned this is a cash only restaurant.
Good place, fair price, fast serving. The food is authentic what shows on the menu. I recommend minced pork rice!!

Authentic Taiwanese food, good portions, and reasonably priced. Very ideal place for day to day dining option!
You want authentic Taiwanese food and Taiwanese dishes around this area without possibly driving 45+ minutes without traffic? Just go here. Their stinky tofu and pickled cabbage is very good. Few places that still make proper pork blood rice cake. Minced meat (everything) rice or noodle is done very well.
The food is delicious; even my picky eater 6 years old gives two thumbs up.

Food is decent and authentic. It's a casual place for a quick bite. We ordered several dishes and they are all authentic and good value. The only downside is that because they sell stinky tofu, the whole place smells like stinky tofu. And the odor gets on your clothes. I would recommend order takeout or dine in at dinner time so you can go straight home and take a shower after dinner.
Today is our second time dining here. The last time was about 5 years ago. Several of the dishes we ordered have very authentic Taiwanese tastes, the stinky tofu is crispy, and the pickled cabbage is test good. The sour plum soup has the taste of black plums, which is also very good. The comprehensive braised food plate is also recommended.
A decent approximation of local Taiwanese food here in the US. Sadly while the stinky tofu smells the business the taste is not quite there. The braised pork (滷肉) however is quite good and well worth ordering. The meat soup (肉羹) is a pass for me; while a normal 肉羹 should be meat mixed with fish paste this particular one seems to just be dipped in cornstarch and therefore the texture and taste is off. Wontons was quite decent. While the fried pork chop is quite popular I think the better choice is the fried chicken cutlet.
Fair Deli food quality and taste not same as genuine Taiwanese in my opinion. We had fried stinky tofu, red oily wonton, squid rice noodles and fried meat rice noodles. The place is small with 8 tables so it's pretty busy so waiting is inevitable.
It's decent, is it the best? No. But they do serve the niche that's not easily available in this area. It's also a good place to take your non-Asian friends here to order stinky tofu and watch them getting all scared. Will I come back, yes. That's all that matters.
Came here for dinner — it’s a large complex with plenty of food spots around. The place itself is simple and no-frills. Not many chicken options on the menu, but I ordered the pancake and the fried chicken with rice and veggies. Both were good and satisfying. Service was quick, and the staff were very friendly, young, and enthusiastic. Plenty of free parking available, which is a big plus.
Authentic Taiwanese restaurant nests at the corner of this plaza. It is rarely noticeable due to its humble decorations on the window. Unless you know what you are looking for, it’s not the most inviting place. The foods are overall delicious and reasonably priced. Tons of varieties, but they weren’t lazy about the originality of each dishes. Other than the ones in photos, I have also had Fried Pork Chop (dry) Noodle and Stinky Tofu.
Tofu King, nestled in the bustling heart of the Jeffrey Shopping Center, is a culinary gem that serves up an authentic Taiwanese feast for the senses. It's the kind of comfort food that speaks of home, of tradition, and of the painstaking care that goes into Taiwanese cooking. Every bite is a reminder of why sometimes, the simplest dishes stand out the most. And let's not forget the rest of the menu, a vibrant showcase of Taiwanese culinary prowess. From the crispy fried chicken to the soothing warmth of their beef noodle soup, every item is a hit. The servings are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the flavors? They're nothing short of a love letter to Taiwan itself. Tofu King's ambiance, with its no-frills, welcoming interior, mirrors the straightforwardness of its menu. It's a place where traditional dishes, served with pride and no small measure of culinary skill, invite you to explore the rich tapestry of Taiwanese cuisine. Whether you're a stinky tofu aficionado or a curious food explorer, Tofu King is a must-visit. So, dive in, and let your taste buds lead the way to discovery.
small hole in the corner experience. there's a medium variety of Taiwanese traditional dishes that are kind of good enough if you crave it, but not so good that I'd make it a point to come here very often. prices are neither cheap nor expensive due to the portions sizes.

Getting our fix for stinky tofu
One party member claimed ,'This stinky tofu is much more like the old Taiwan flavour.' peanut sauce in the wontons in chili oil was a bit intrusive. 'Cash only' was inconvenient.
Not too stinky as I expected lol. But anyway, it's good tho. Price is very reasonable.
Decent Taiwanese dishes for the most part. Fried stinky tofu is a must have if you like it. Some like 肉羹 is really really bad... I ordered it before and forgot it was bad and ordered it again😑 So consider yourself warned, it's bland and with very little things in the thicken soup. Other items are OK.
Ok. So this is the first and the last time I visit this location. I was taken here by a coworker that was dying to have me try out the stinky tofu. It wasn’t good, but that’s just me. I had a few other choices of the menu and it was all too much for me. This location is for people that enjoy the exotic unknowns of cuisine. I’m a simple guy that enjoys a good taco or slice of pizza for lunch. The service was average too. They brought one of my coworkers sweetened tea when he loudly and clearly said unsweetened. This place was not for me but it might be for you. Just know that if your not used to different flavors or exotic tastes, your stomach will be telling you about an hour or two later.
Decent food. We always ordered the stinky tofu, mince meat and mushroom rice bowl, sliced tofu (appetizer), chie A noodle, and something that looks like a steam meat mochi. Service was OK. Restaurant cleanliness was OK.

I've been to plenty of Taiwanese places in US & Taiwan so I guess I'm a bit pickier than the average foodie...so beware... Fish ball rice noodle soup: 2 Stars Tasted just ok, very bland taste & there wasn't much noodles in it. Onion pancake: 2.5 stars Ok but was a bit too doughy not crunchy enough; even the frozen ones I buy from Ranch 99 taste better than these. Plus the dipping sauce was way too salty; it had a weird after taste to it too. I think there was MSG in the sauce. =( Portions are LOT smaller than I expected. -1 (plenty of other Taiwanese reestaurants give you bigger portions) Service: B- (had to waive them down several times) Decor: C+ (at least it was clean) Atmosphere: B Tip: CASH ONLY so be ready =)
We tried the most popular dishes like mushroom sliced pork rice with egg, pork intestine wrap sausage, stinky tofu but don’t find them recommendable. Also had the Taiwanese style rice cake and dan dan noodle soup. Can’t say we like any of the dishes; the most decent one that passed taste test is the mushroom pork rice but then there wasn’t enough to mushroom pork that accompanied the rice.
Very unpleasant service. The waitress appeared/sounded very impatient and kept looking at us with a poke face. Maybe it was because my wife and I hesitated when she asked if we wanted to dine in or take out, or maybe it was because my one-year old son made some noises, or maybe I was just being over sensitive. I ended up leaving the place in a lot confusion. Overall, very poor dining experience. The taste of their food (two exotic tofu dishes) is just mediocre and overpriced.
I purchased $96.61 worth of food to go with mostly frozen items such as fish balls, meat balls, wonton, etc. After l took the bag home, l noticed they did not give me my frozen meatballs which they charged $15. There is no check and balance to protect customers. Attention to detail is lacking. I won't go back again.
I ordered spicy stinky tofu, but they gave me regular instead. When I went back, they made me wait 10 minutes for a redo and still charged me again, cash only. Small portions, overpriced, average taste, and terrible service. Definitely not recommended
They added an extra $3–$5 per dish when ordering through their website, which I only found out when I went to pick up the food. There was no warning about the price difference. This ended up adding around $20 to my total, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the food was just average for me, so overall the experience didn’t feel worth the higher cost.
