Tip: Order the brisket moist, but be aware there is a small upcharge. The creamed corn is very rich, so order a small portion.

Some of the best chain BBQ shops! With multiple locations from Texas to Arizona this restaurant provides consistently amazing tastes. Do not pass up a Rudy’s you will not regret it.
Rudy’s has some of the best, if not THE best, brisket in town. I personally prefer the moist brisket. I have yet to try all the BBQ places in town though, so take that into account when considering how Rudy’s brisket measures up relative to what else Bryan/College Station has to offer. The pulled pork is also pretty good, but I found the baby backs a little dry. I think brisket is your best bet. I only recently learned that Rudy’s is a chain. I wouldn’t have initially thought that because it has a local feel to it. Additionally, the atmosphere is fun and clean. The employees are nice and the service is quick. Rudy’s is a great little place.
Everyone at this location is really nice! I came in this morning to buy some breakfast for my service group. The girl who helped me out was really sweet, she hooked me up with lots of sauce for the breakfast tacos.
I had a Chopped BBQ sandwich with potatoes salad. It was amazing! My husband had 2 meat potatoes with chopped BBQ and sausage links and banana pudding! He also said it was all amazing! P.S there tea is on point!
Best barbecue sauce ever! Easily, my favorite steakhouse for a daily basis visit. The staff is always really kind and helpful. Also, they normally don't use dishes there, it is a little awkward at start, but you get used to it (and it is very practical to wrap everything after eating).
This is the Rudy's location closest to my retired parents. It is as good as the one I frequent in Houston on I-45 North. Great service, friendly staff, excellent food quality as usual. I did notice an abundance of flying insects inside this location. I guess that is unavoidable at times. Overall great experience every time we visit.
This was divine barbecue! Great service and delicious food. Baked potato and brisket was tender and juicy. The atmosphere- chill and relaxing.
Ordered to go and my order was incorrect. The Manager had my order corrected and delivered. When I opened the bag a small peach cobbler was inside. Talk about sweetening the deal! As a GM I can spot great customer service. The team is great! I've been coming here for years and I will continue! Rudy's you rock!
Delicious BBQ with a family friendly dining experience. The prices are a little high but certainly not as expensive as some BBQ places. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the helpful front counter experience. Their spicy BBQ sauce is the bomb, I haven't tried the Sissy Sause but I bet it's tasty as well. The country store type of setting is pretty cool. You're served on butcher paper with a tray, kitschy and fun.
I only went for the pink cup and ended up also getting the jalapeno cheese sausage, delicious. The young guy with the reddish or blonde hair at register was very nice and helpful. Everyone there seemed very friendly as well.
Their loaded potato woth 2 meats is fantastic. They are massive and so good. We havent had anything we didnt like, and we bring all our out of state relatives to eat here. Everyone has been happy with their meal
Should've reviewed this Rudy's earlier - been going here for years. It was a GREAT place to go on an A&M football game day - not crowded at all. Just serving up the same absolutely delicious barbecue that Rudy's fans know and love. My daughter and I split a pound of lean brisket and a whole sausage; I recommend both. I'm also a fan of their potato salad. Wish we had a Rudy's in northern Colorado. They opened one and couldn't figure out how to properly cook a brisket, so it went out of business. Sad.
Update: it's the third time my family and I have been to this location, and this past experience was great. We ordered a couple pounds of lean brisket, not too much fat was included. They wrapped it before I saw it because I turned to talk with my son. I recommend they make sure the customer sees the meat and weight before wrapping it up, but nevertheless we got good meat and had a great experience. Everything was clean and orderly, and the staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely return, and this location gets the well deserved 5 stars.
Loved coming here with MBA colleagues during 2009 and 2010 during the Mays MBA program at Texas A&M University. Always a great time and magical moments.
Wife had brisket and I had turkey sandwich. Both delicious and price was right on. Give it 5 stars.
Came to the restaurant maybe 30 mins before closing and the staff was awesome! Offered to give us samples being we were from out of state but the amazing aroma of bbq coming from the back I knew we came to the right place no sample needed! The cashier was very helpful and pleasant we couldn’t wait to sit down with our order. We were not disappointed everything was good from the potato salad, beans, brisket baby back ribs and pork style ribs seasoned to perfection! If coming to College Point check them out!
We were visiting from Tennessee and knew we wanted to have Texas brisket. We definitely chose the right place. Rudy’s had the food and atmosphere we were looking for. We had a brisket sandwich with coleslaw and beer. The food was great, and it was fun to see a bunch of A&M students enjoying their meals.
Called in here to try out TX BBQ, and had a great experience. Our server talked us through the menu and offered us free bread up to a whole loaf. I had brisket and ribs and really enjoyed both. My wife had the pulled pork and loved that too. Our first experience of creamed corn was yummy and potato salad was creamy and rich. I would go back in a heart beat.
Well, we had just moved into the area, and found this place on line. The service was way above the norm. We were made welcomed, from the time we walked in the door. Texas A M head coach, was in an interview live, and we were offered to freely go find a table to sit. The food was so tasty and delicious! If you are in area, really need to give them a visit. Good ole Texas hospitality. We will return back there, whenever we want a enjoying evening out.
The food was good, but the people are better! My family was there, and my nephew got sick all over my sister and the floor. The staff was super cool about it! When my sister went up to buy a new shirt (as her's was covered in vomit), the man at the counter gave her one for free and said "Happy Mother's Day." It was really kind in a gross situation and also very funny. We love y'all and will keep coming back for sure!
We have 5 in our family and we are all meat lovers; thus our order is large ($150-$170) and we always order extra specifically for leftovers. Even so, Rudy's never fails to satisfy! The only complaint I have is that the cashier had a listening problem, however after having to repeat ourselves (2-3 times), we finally made it clear what we wanted. The Brisket (moist) was succulent and the ribs were delicious! As always. We're never let down when we eat there.
We recently had a large family party at our home and ordered one of the Group meals, with brisket, turkey breast, and sausage. The food was scrumptious with ample portions, and the service was excellent all the way from the ordering of it to the packaging of the food, including assistance putting it in the vehicle. We will definitely use Rudy’s in College Station TX again!!
Very Texan, authentic BBQ! Very juicy brisket!
This location should have 10 stars...... I'm from Austin, but live in Houston now and I would always complain that it not the same here. No flavor, sometimes not up to temp just not like I've had in the past. 45 north and south, 290, I-10. Till I just gave up on Houston's Rudy's. Found some local locations Goode Co. Truth's, Gatlins however sometimes you want Rudy's ribs, corn and stew and some brisket.. Well I was in College Station yesterday and went to the Harvey location I could have went left to a BJ or CJ nevermind I'll just go to Rudy's OMG this location beats all of Houston.. ..... please send a training staff to Houston so the can do want you all do. You're the best.... Only complaint it's hard getting to a manager cashier's helpful but won't pass you to manager...knowledgeable yes but I wanted to complement this store on being the best ribs, brisket, and stew that I've had in years from Rudy's. Your place is what the meat should be everywhere........
My husband and I are new to the area. We just pulled in from Austin. We went to Rudy’s for barbecue because like always that’s what my husband wanted. I gotta say if it was a 10 star I would’ve given it to them. The food was absolutely delicious. We bought chicken, ribs and brisket, side of corn and a side of beans. I was not disappointed the food was absolutely delicious. The best barbecue I’ve had in my lifetime and I’m 68 years old and I had a lot of barbecue Believe me from Arkansas to Louisiana from Louisiana all through Texas. Rudy has the best barbecue you’re missing out if you don’t try it. I can’t post a picture because we ate all of it lol
This is a regular spot for my husband & I. We absolutely LOVE this place, the people, food, & environment! ❤️👍🏼👍🏼
Very consistent BBQ. The side dishes are great. My favorite is brisket and pork ribs.
Awesome BBQ. I prefer the moist / fatty brisket. If you are unsure ask for a sample, it is really fatty compared to normal. Slaw is OK, creamed corn is 10 stars. I tried rhe new Jalapeno & cheese sausage, it may be the best sausage i ever tasted. Traditional banana pudding has a halo over it, Wink. A tad expensive, but barbecue is that way right now. We will be back
After weeks of forgetting that Rudy's makes breakfast tacos, I finally remembered. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a wonderful aroma. After venturing in, and wandering around, the staff recognized my lost look. They asked if they could help and I said, "I am hungry." They replied with, "Ok. What would you like?" Since I didn't know what I wanted, "All of it" was all I could think to say. Low and behold, from behind the counter, I hear, "Ok." Isn't it beautiful? Also, it is amazing. These great people made my day, and their attitudes were spot on. Thanks, guys.
If you want BBQ, this is the place. Everything is always stellar and the service is top notch.
I've been eating more protein lately, so I popped in here for a 1/4 lb of Spicy chopped brisket. It was delicious, served in a cup, and easy to take with me. The only thing that could have improved it was a drive through window. They do have an app and designated parking spots for delivery, but I didn't find the app intuitive enough for my hurried stop, so I just went in and was out in ten minutes.
I went there for the first time and the staff were really friendly and guided us through their menu, gave us samples. The food was amazing, especially their baby back ribs. And they are not expensive. One of the best barbeque places in BCS.
We stopped here while traveling back to Houston. The barbecue smell as you enter the building was so enticing. We both had the half pound brisket with sides. I have dietary restrictions with seed oils and was happy to learn that their new potatoes were cooked in real butter! I'm Keto and wish they had green vegetables and side salad as side options. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall a wonderful dining experience.
I had the brisket sandwich and it was plentiful and delicious. My wife had the most brisket which she thoroughly enjoyed. We had the creamed corn which is always good and delicious. Our friend had the baby back ribs, which had ample meat on the bones. She also had corn on the cob which was a little soft.
Came early in the afternoon between 10 and 11. Total was 16 bucks before tip. Though there is a small upcharge for ordering it moist, regular brisket is 2 bucks cheaper. At 16 bucks assuming you order it moist its 3 dollars cheaper than 1775 for the same portion of brisket. I came wednesday morning on a weekday and there was no wait. Im not really a barbecue connoisseur, but the brisket was good even compared to 1775 if you ask me. I guess there was less bark, but the brisket was just as tender and moist. You won't be disappointed with the moist brisket here. I wish Rudy's had a smoked mac and cheese but it wasnt on the menu when I checked.
I have been here twice in the past couple of weeks, the girls at the counter have been so helpful. They have cheddar jalapeno sausage now. They gave me a sample of that and a sample of baby back ribs as well. I bought both with sides. Everything was delicious. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was my favorite as well as the cream corn.
Absolutely delicious BBQ...the brisket, sausage and pork tenderloin are all just awesome! Excellent BBQ sauce. I love the set up!
Man, to say i wanted to have a proper BBQ experience in texas is an understatement, went to the area for work on a weekend, time was limited and this was my last stop, boy did i ended the trip on a good note. Service was amazing, super friendly and just excited to serve you, the atmosphere is great spacious, the set up makes sense and everything was clean and accessible. Now let's get to the food, ordered a pork rib, brisket (moist) and a turkey and sausage sandwich. Let me just say the rub on the pork rib and cook temp was Amazing, some of the best rib I've had, the sandwich was perfectly balance, turkey was lean and sausage was savory and not greasy at all. My only complaint was the brisket, smell was great, bark was tasty and not overly salty as other places in the area, my biggest complaint was that it was cut super thin and was super dry, if you are serving plain brisket it should be thick, and specially if you order the (moist) version should expect not to be hard and dry. But honestly with bbq sauce and bread was better. I'll be back when in the area for sure.
This visit was just as nice as the other locations that I have visited. My order was made per my instructions. Food was hot and tasty. My order didn't take long to fill and I noticed they put the time the order was made, on the bag. The clerk was courteous and respectful. No gas pumps at this location and I didn't see bottled water or drinks for sale near the front counter.
Top notch bbq. I'm from PA but everything im in college Station TX this is a must go. Melt in your mouth brisket. I prefer asking for a lean cut. Perfect smoke ring. Pulled pork is another must try. Creamed corn is super rich so order a small, its plenty. Always get a local beer to make the food go down easier. Do not drive by this place. Great BBQ super simple and basic dining room. If you want something fancy go somewhere else, so there will be lessbon line and more for me....try the brisket with the house Sissy sauce and you'll e buying a bottle to take home. So now that you've read this, goi thete now..
I have been in College Station several times and finally got a chance to try Rudy’s. I tried the brisket and the chicken and both were super tasty. I also had their dice red potatoes which were very good. They have an interesting serving tray and you use wax paper to eat on the table. The brisket had good smoked flavor as did the chicken. I’ll definitely keep this on the rotation when in College Station.
Way to go Rudy's. This place has some very good barbeque. I had spicy chopped beef with a side of potato salad and my wife had smoked turkey breast with a side of new potatoes and butter. Love the condiment bar, onions, pickles, pickled jalapeno peppers, pickled carrots and cherry peppers. Everything was good, hot and fresh. A definite go to for barbeque for us.
3 stars for the overall level of quality of the food. It’s good food. It’s consistent. You will always get the same level of quality during each visit. To me it ranks higher than a place like Dickies which I would categorize as fast food BBQ. Certainly better than Arby’s as well. But it’s still a Southwest chain with almost 50 locations and is pretty corporate. The service is good and consistent. I’d give their service 4.5/5.0 stars. That bumps the overall score to 4 stars. I recommend the moist brisket, chopped brisket sandwich (separate from the spicy chop sandwich, which I also recommend), and the ribs. Get the spicy BBQ sauce. Get some bread. Get some sides like the green Chile stew or cream corn. Get one of their pudding cups for desert. A couple beers. 💥 You’ve got it made.
Delicious food. Not just the brisket is yummy but the sides are great, too. Make sure to ask for extra butter on your potatoes. Extra fixings and wax paper to eat on are on an island in the middle of the restaurant. I couldn’t give five stars because there is better brisket out there and the price is pretty high to just be good and not amazing.
Great for large crowds, quick and easy for lunch. Food is consistent and is pretty good. Typically the meat is on the dry side but the flavor is still good. It's nice to have so many options to eat for gluten free too.
Good if you want a country do it yourself style restaurant.
The most consistent and good "quality" bbq in BCS. Most Rudy's are fair to terrible, but this location is an anomaly. My opinion, for what it's worth, this is the best BBQ in BCS. Sure, if you want to spend $50 bucks for brisket, that 17 place is good, but it's not worth the extra $$.
This was our first BBQ Joint in Texas .Even though it's a chain, I felt very welcomed. The manager came over during our feast and was very chill The fooooood ohh man, let's talk about it I got the Moist Brisket so delectable the name really says it all so tender a barely needed my fork the bit of bark that it did have was a nice crunch factor and gave it a different element and it was seasoned ever so nicely I wish I would have brought a pillow just due to the metal seats ( however, I have health issues ), so I am sure others don't mind that aspect. I also found joy in the cafeteria style for grabbing your food
Very delicious barbecue, sides and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my meal. Only issue for me was the Rudy's barbecue sauce. Too sweet for me. It might be a little better if they offered a few different styles as well. As they sell their own, I suspect that isn't an option.
The food is just okay. The staff were very nice and I appreciate the hand washing station. Everything is sold by the pound, so there are no plate or sandwich meal deals that come with sides.
Been getting the brisket breakfast tacos for a couple weeks now and it's a treat especially with the sauce. The main stuff is good (I've had better) but just the breakfast tacos alone is good enough for 4 stars. Wish the tortillas were a tad bit bigger lol. Definitely recommend.
Love the jalapeños sausage and the brisket both the flavor and texture. Highly recommend!
The folks were nice helpful and very kind. We didn't get part of our order by mistake and we went back and they remembered us and gave us the items and were very kind.
Had brisket and ribs, 1/2 lbs of each. The place was not crowded as it was 1pm when I arrived. Staff was very friendly. Brisket had a good smoke line and was very tender with a nice smoky flavor. Ribs as well were tender and smoky flavored but a bit salty but I ate them anyway. Lol I had a good lunch and would visit again.
Great barbecue, but poor service. When we went, there was a line nearly to the door. Obviously this is a good sign for the quality of the food, but the problem is that the workers spent more time joking around then prioritizing the fact that they had customers waiting on them. To make matters worse, there is no system in place for the order in which a customer order has been placed. While I was waiting for my order, there were two times that people who had ordered after me received the food that have been cut for my order. Unlikely to go back, when there is too much competition in the area with better customer service.
These days, I mostly eat BBQ at C&J's because their locations are more convenient to my house. But I do love a good breakfast taco, and Rudy's opens at 7. I almost always have problems with the Build Your Own Breakfast Tacos. I'll order 4 with Brisket, Egg, Cheese, and Potato. Unfortunately, the column for Potatoes is WAY far on the right side, and it is vastly more common for them to leave the potatoes off than include them on the taco. So, I highly recommend just buying the pre-made tacos or skipping this place entirely and going to any one of the many convenience stores that sell breakfast tacos. The main selling point for Rudys is a very large seating area. So, definitely go there is you have a large groups. But if you just want carry out food in the morning, this is probably not the place to go.
The food is okay. Not great, not bad, just average. The moist brisket really upsets me because if that's what passes as moist, how dry is their normal brisket? The sausage is good, albeit a little overcooked. Barely any dressing on the coleslaw, and what was there fell to the bottom, so it was watery. But the potato salad was so good I could eat a whole gallon if you'd let me. The potato salad is the only reason theres a 3 star rating and not 2 star. Im also concerned that it's $8 for .25lb brisket, I get that meat is getting pricier, but that seems too much. I don't know if all of this is my experience because I ordered with Doordash, so I got bottom of the barrel? Maybe going in person is better? I don't remember the other Rudy's in Austin being like this, so maybe it's just the BCS location.
Perfect family place for a quick lunch when traveling. Food arrived quick and was as expected, good and filling. Nothing exotic.
I recently like tonight placed a door dash order for here in college station. I always will order the 1/2 chicken. I had not ordered in awhile and I had always loved the chicken. Was a nice roasted flavor. Well they have up and changed some darn mess and now it has way to much heat. I guess Rudy's will not longer be my place to get my chicken . It is AWFUL. I was not happy at all and changed my whole experience. Again just AWFUL. I REALLY WANTED TO GIVE THEM A 1 STAR. But the family got other things that were just OK. Again , not a happy person at all. Not my go to place anymore.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the brisket itself was delicious! My only problem was the baked beans. They had been drowned in black pepper and were not enjoyable to eat. Along with this I love all things spicy food, but yet again the BBQ sauce was so overpowering with pepper taste it was not too enjoyable. Again I loved the restaurant and the workers were wonderful, but these small details made it very difficult to rate it more than 3 stars.
My husband and I have been loyal Rudy’s customers for many years. I understand the rise in prices but the quality of the food has gone downhill and is definitely not worth the prices we paid today. We had a brisket sandwich and a jalapeno sausage sandwich. Really good bbq does not need sauce but both sandwiches needed sauce in order to be able to eat them as they were so very dry. We will not be back at Rudy’s.
Food is good. It is pricey.
This is the first time I've tried this BBQ place in College Station. I'm quite disappointed. First, I asked for "moist" brisket, it was more ½ lean ½ moist. Second, I ordered cream corn, the kernels were undercooked and hard. Now, the flavor of the cream was nice and slightly sweet. Last, was the red potatoes, now these were my favorite out of what I tried. Add a little salt and pepper and I ate all of my serving. In the picture, is what I didn't eat of my ½lb of brisket. Other than that, employees were formal with their hello's and straight to the point, no variance in demeanor.
Went here with my daughter. I was really craving some coleslaw. But this was nothing but dry cabbage. Only thing I really liked out of my meal was the sausage. I didn't really like the seating. It was just long tables and if you went in at lunch time you might share that table with several people. Because I did not see any separate seating. We did get a refund on the coleslaw. But idk things happen. May try it again one day. But not in any hurry. The workers were very nice. That's about all I can say about it really.
Place is very clean, unfortunately the staff was quit brash. We came here from out of town and requested our food and was met with attitude when the asked for items where lacking. The moist brisket was dry, the sausage was over cooked and dry, the pork ribs were on the dryer side but was not bad. The Dr pepper was flat but the rootbeer was good. Enjoyed the banana pudding. The only person the seemed inviting was the counter clerk at the front door. The rest of the staffed seemed as if they could not be bothered. Overall a sub par experience.
Our large family of 11 ate at Rudy's last night. We ordered a large quantity of food and left a $25 tip with payment. It was 6:45 when we got there and we hung out and ate and visited until almost 8pm. Rudy's closes at 9pm; however they began their cleanup before 8pm. This is okay, but the employees were very rude about it. Making as much noise as possible with the glass bbq bottles and standing in the way if you went for a refill on drinks, or to get more napkins. More than once two of the employees on the floor made eye contact with us and would not let us pass (instead making us walk around the island to get to our destination). This all sounds trivial, but I assure you the 2 employees we were dealing with were deliberately rude to us. Unfortunately I saw them do this with other customers as well. We attempted to speak with a manager, after one of the employees removed the tea containers as I was standing in front of it, removing the lid from my cup to refill it. The manager simply said "we have one over there" and pointed. We visit Rudy's fairly regularly, but we won't anymore. There are too many bbq options, with decent customer service, to put up with this.
I had no idea you walked in and thrust with task of ordering before sitting..hate this. The guy taking order wasn't helpful didn't explain how it worked. The place is cool inside lots of sitting options mostly long picnic tables. The food was horrible. No baked beans they told me it was but was plain pinto beans. All sides was in cooler when u walked in and was cold. Not my cup of tea. Will not be returning
First time here to this location stopped by to grab a moist brisket sanwhich on the way to see a patient. Service was meh. . Wasn't very welcoming seemed like people didn't want to be there. The front door welcome was weak af and as well as the greet on the line. I'd say about 85% of the tables bbq sauce was empty. Place looked well kept and clean. People stayed busy in the back of the house. Place is small but spacious lay out with the looked nice. Sandwhich was delicious and hot with just the right amount of end cuts a little bit on the dry side for being moist but not over cooked like the problems I be having at in houston. Due to lack of a greet and service that's why the low rating. With that many managers/keys/trainers service should be a lot better. Cheers! Oh and phone service is garbage when leaving a review another reason for low rating
One word… DRY!! Stopped in here on Sat Nov 29 around 3.30pm for a couple of sliced brisket sandwiches. Chose this because we didn’t want another drive thru meal on the holiday travel weekend. Didn’t say anything while we were there because the kids working the shift weren’t responsible for the meat, but definitely should have been trained on what to serve and what not to serve!! We eat at Rudy’s locations all around TX and this was by far the worst we have ever been served.
I have never paid more for worse barbecue. I don't know if it was an off day or what but I am not likely to return. The moist brisket was not moist it was greasy. Cream corn over cooked. Just simply not impressed. But I also see moist reviews are 5 star so I think maybe today was just a 2 star experience.
Worse bbq in my life. Brisket tasted like badly cooked dry ham, clowshaw had no sauce, and the bbq sauce was just water. I couldn't take 3 bites before throwing all the food away. My girlfriend did the same with her food. We walked out in under 5mins.
My wife and I had lunch here today the turkey was awesome but the brisket was dry and resembled jerky. Was a clean and spacious environment. The turkey was for my wife so she was happy with her meal but I wasn't to impressed I'll stick to Hill country BBQ from now on a little further of a drive but phenomenal brisket there and bigger portions
This the worst Rudy's I've experienced. The kid who took our order had no knowledge of BBQ meats. It took the cutter 3 tries to get us 1 lb of turkey. We abandoned another 1/2 lb because it took them too long. The brisket was terribly dry. All in the order itself took over 15 minutes.
Got food poisoning from here. Idk if anyone else has had the same problem but death has to feel better than what im feeling at this very moment
This is the only Rudy's that I have been to that they keep the small sauce to go under lock and key .I have been coming here for years and have yall ever thought maybe some people can't really pick up those bottles yall have on the table like my wife that has arthritis. We came here twice this weekend and both times our orders were wrong maybe have your people taking the orders need to be more concerned about getting it right instead of asking if we have been there before.
