Chowking in Artesia is praised for its tasty Filipino-Chinese cuisine, especially the crispy fried chicken, which some prefer over Jollibee. Customers appreciate the attentive staff and clean environment. Some note inconsistent food quality and occasional service issues.

Tip: The fried chicken is a must-try, and the Halo-halo is great for dessert. Be aware that the beef wonton noodles may sometimes be missing the beef.

this was the Best of the BEST chow king ive ever had. If I could pick one thing to eat for my life it would be this, Also the staff is out of this world! This was the best beef wonton and costumer service in the states.
Josephine C. was amazing, we’re visiting town and being filipino i was craving chow king and Josephine C. made the visit so much better, made us feel welcome and was very helpful and professional!
Chowking is my favorite food even back in the philippines. I love how crunchy and juicy the chicken is. Also I love how the cashiers greet me esp Miss Armay I feel like im in the philippines. She was so helpful and very polite. The cleanliness of the store and the coziness. I love Chowking! Will invite my collegues so they can try the goodness of you food!!
Armay, Nata, Aaron and Josie are the best! They are always smiling and take care of me when I order food at ChowKing. Best customer service ever! The restaurant is always super clean too!
Got hungry and visited chowking. Can't forget their one employee Nara who took care our order so fast and accommodated us. But one thing that made me satisfied is she's kind and always smiling. But ofc the foods were always great, the siopao and wanton! Such a perfect and we'll surely come back again
I might sound bias to be honest because I'm from the same country. But who cares? The fried chicken is so deliciously crispy and I can eat 5 pieces in one sitting. I also never fail to order the pancit canton and some siopaos.
As a Mexican American I’ve never tried this food and was confused on want to order. I ended up ordering 3 different things to try. The workers at the front was so welcoming and educated me in their food. She paired me with the right condiments that each plate has. Very friendly and welcoming spot. Food was delicious as well. I’ll be coming back! Thank you Josephine what a great employee!
"Chowking is my jam when it comes to satisfying my hunger cravings! Their food is seriously tasty, like next-level delicious. Plus, the vibe there is always chill, perfect for hanging out with friends or just grabbing a quick bite solo. Whether it's their mouthwatering noodles or their crunchy chicken, Chowking always hits the spot. Big props to the Chowking crew for always keeping it real and serving up some seriously good eats!"
Good Service, i love how they handling their costumers. I love the food as always, well cooked
My mom, nephew, and I had breakfast at Chowking Cerritos today, and it was a really pleasant experience! We ordered two entree breakfast, one Laurent entrée, chao fan, and six asado siopao to go. Everything was delicious and satisfying. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The asado siopao, in particular, was a standout – deliciously savory and a great treat for later. We left feeling full and happy, and the service was excellent as well. Thank you Jon and Chrish for the splendid service! Highly recommend this branch! Thank you, Chowking!
The food is superb! Especially the chicken, it’s juicy on the inside and super crispy! I also love the honey walnut shrimp and the black jelly. The place feels so cozy and comfortable. The staff and managers are very welcoming, very attentive, very friendly and always serve with a smile, especially Miss Armay and Miss Elisha. They gave great recommendations, and I loved everything they suggested. Great service and a warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back! 💗
This is the first Chowking I've been to and I was surprised how tasty Filipino Chinese food could be. The fried chicken has a different texture than you'd normally be used to but it makes it delicious.
Staff were friendly, greeted with a smile and were promptly ready to serve. Ordered walnut shrimp entree and partner got salt & pepper pork entree. Both were savory, walnut shrimp had a good crisp with the touch of mayo. The pork had a good crunch yet soft and juicy on the inside. Safe to say, we had a pretty tasty meal.
Service is always excellent. I’ve been here numerous times while door dashing and once they gave me an item to try it was very early. I really enjoyed it as well. But every time I come in everyone is very nice. So I finally to order some food and everything was so tasty the chicken was super crunchy but lite. So good! Will definitely be coming back
Nara helped me at the register and she is really sweet and patient! She invited me to try their new dish and explained the different combos. Thank you for making it such a wonderful experience! For food, I recommend their honey walnut shrimp and siomai. Always a favorite of mine!
Yummy beef siopao with black gulaman jelly drink!
I recently visited Chowking and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Chowking is a great spot for anyone craving a mix of Filipino and Chinese flavors. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food quality is consistently good. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a full meal, Chowking is a reliable choice that never disappoints.
The fried rice with siomai needs to change the taste. The fried chicken has too much flour.
Good chinoy foods! Breakfast is awesome !
A new favorite! I highly recommend spicy popcorn chicken. 😋 Friendly staff and resto is clean! Will come back for sure
Their fried chicken is the best! Taho is my husband's favorite and siopao asado for my daughter. Overall it's good and we're grateful there's one nearby.
Clean and not crowded. The restaurant still serves Halo-halo during evenings which is a plus! Their chicken is underrated, and I consider it a better alternative than Chickenjoy. (Don't worry, JB and CK are under JFC - in case you're super-loyal to the famous Pinoy fried chicken)~

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the two staff members at your store who went above and beyond when my sister accidentally left her bag behind. Although I wasn’t able to get their names, I want to make sure they are recognized for their honesty and dedication. They personally ensured that my sister safely received her bag back, which speaks volumes about their character and commitment to excellent customer service. I truly salute these two employees for their integrity and for going the extra mile. Experiences like this remind us why we keep coming back. And of course, the food here is always so good—an added bonus to the already amazing service. Thank you again to the two staff members for their outstanding effort. They truly embody what Chowking is all about.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Good food and clean environment. We always come here on Sundays and service is always great at Chowking in Cerritos.
Ladies are very attentive and great with customers. Smiling faces make it easier for customers to feel comfortable and happy! Thank you ❤️🙏🏻
Very good, the cashier were very nice, we went there twice this week and would go again! Their chicken is VERY crispy and good compared to Jollibee (But still an amazing restaurant). Didn’t have gravy unfortunately but the chicken made it even better! The chicken mami is so good, the noodles were soft and chewy and the broth was amazing. The siopao and the sauce is always amazing! Would go many times again! Service did not disappoint.
Chow King Norwalk definitely deserves five stars. We ordered two Beef Wonton Noodles and two Chicken Lauriat entrées, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and comforting, and the portions were generous. We also enjoyed their yummy, delicious taho — smooth, warm, and perfectly sweet. To wash it all down, we had Black Gulaman, which was refreshing and balanced. If it wasn’t already evening, we would have also ordered their halo-halo — it’s always a great choice and just as delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this location!

9/26/2025 = 10:35AM = 4 Star = Minus star today coz we order Beef Wonton but order received are wonton only , i let the counter know about it , but did not ask for replacement , coz I already started eating it , but i change my mind I will maintain the 4 star coz after couple minutes she give me a replacement to a Beef Wonton . 7/202024 = 4 Star =I think , it's been almost 2 years already when they move to this spot where Jollibee located before , been here many times and just updated my review , I add additional star coz we enjoy dining today , will try again soon . 12/9/19 = 3 star = it's located inside the Seafood City , halo-halo is good , but the mami is a bit expensive .
The asado siopao is pretty good, the bochi is nice as well. I was hoping they would have more filling but its alright. They have refill drinks as well. Disabled friendly access. Their halo-halo is awesome, def worth the price, its a must buy when visiting chowking for sure!

My brother bought dinner for a family get together. I could smell the fried chicken emanating from his car so I assumed he went to some fried chicken spot. Well, he kind of did but I was confused when I saw what looked like Chinese fast food, especially when I see the name Chow King, I think Chinese American fast food of the 80s/90s. It’s a Filipino Chinese fast food chain. They sell Filipino dishes and Filipino take on Chinese fast food and dim sum. Their version of char siu bao, which is called siapao. Those were just ok, as I’m used to the Chinese and Taiwanese version. Their pancit is more like lo mein with a wheat based noodle and it was ok, think fast food version, not the pancit I typically associated with thin vermicelli noodles that is rice based. What I would get again and was a hit is their fried chicken, as that was tasty and seasoned, I believe my brother got it spicy as it had some kick to it or perhaps some spicy ones got toss in there, as he knows my mom can’t usually tolerate spicy anymore but she was fine. This is main reason for the 4 stars. He also got their popcorn fried chicken. Had similar seasoning to Taiwanese popcorn chicken minus the basil.

The staff need better training in providing good customer service
Chowking is like a mixture of DimSum, Chinese, and Filipino food Fast Food style. It was quite popular, but rating is a 3, because I feel like it's pricey for what it is. 3 shrimp dumplings that had no shrimp and very little filling was over $4 dollars. Their lumpias were tasty and you get 6 for $4.09. The shumai was OK, not the best, but for the price of four, it was really expensive too. Just for those three items, it was near $14. They had an interesting Halo Halo that we did t try this time around.
cashier was polite and helpful. area looked clean. food: wonton noodles - 4/10 noodles very gummy, soup too salty taho - 5/10 tofu was very mushy, syrup was too watery, needs more sweetness buchi - 7/10 gulaman - 9/10 siopao asado - 8/10

Practice the customer service skills employed by your folks in the Philippines. I was unacknowledged upon entering the restaurant and standing by the counter. Finally, a guy went to the register. However, this guy didn’t greet me at all. He just raised his eyebrows expecting me to tell him what I wanted to order. No “good afternoon” no “welcome to Chow King, how can I help you?” He did not say a word except for “anything else?” Unacceptable.

We ordered breakfast fried garlic rice combo with Bangus and sausages . It’s so frustrating to eat the fried rice is so tough no pieces of fried garlic it’s just a spray of garlic salt and very dry . The two pieces of sausages are harder than rubber can’t even cut into bite pieces . We will never dine here again . This place needs to train the staff how to do food service and cook the right way. This is in Chowking Artesia / Norwalk Ca
Greatly disappointed with the beef wonton and pork siomai. Beef wonton’s noodles were so bitter, clumped, too mushy. The siomai tasted like any other frozen siomai you see at the grocery store. I understand i should not expect too much and not compare it from the one in the Philippines, but the experience was just awful.
I got what I expected, which was Chinese fast food. However, I ordered a king size beef noodle for $15 and it was a literal scam. Even in a worst case scenario, like in NYC, this should have been $8.
Unless you're Asian don't go here. If you're black, you especially shouldn't go here. The staff was rude to me but noticeably nicer to the Asian patrons. I asked for freshly cooked popcorn chicken and got warmed over food. The cost relative to the service just doesn't justify you spending your money to be treated poorly.

First they got our order wrong. It was supposed to be regular crispy chicken but instead they gave us spicy. My daughter was then unable to eat it. Second, we cut into another chicken and a long piece of hair was fried into it. Then, the siomai, which is steamed, was cold. The quality of the food has gone down immensely. Probably won’t be coming back here again.
Ordered chicken. Asked me regular or spicy. I said regular. When i.got home it was spicy. Called them and spoke to Josie. Said they wud replace. It next time we go.
Chow King is not inside Seafood City but in the same complex now! I just ordered Chicken Mami and I'll tell you Chow King, I will no longer be a customer b/c you've changed! This Chicken Mami is below standard. Where's the chicken? This broth is chicken free. The temperature is Luke warm, it's oily and there's pieces of Cabbage inside that were mostly stems. Instead of all that cabbage Chow King, try adding some CHICKEN! Good luck Chow King, you're gonna need it!
The quality of Chow King has gone from bad to worse. My wife wanted to grab some Chow King Siopao Bola Bola flavor to go and my son ordered beef noodles. We went home and saw the noodles was just a lousy clump of noodles with only one piece of beef. My son was son disappointed with his order. My wife warmed up the Bola Bola Siopao the bun was flaky and the Bola Bola meat inside was so small and do not even match the ingredients that are on the bag and in their poster. We spent a lot on these meal and it wasn’t even worth it. A message to Chow King management please do not advertise good looking food if the final product that your kitchen produces do not match what you claim the meal has. This is false advertising.

Food is good. Place is clean. Service can definitely be improved. On one visit, they messed up an order and no apologies were given nor was there an effort to make it right. It’s like it’s a privilege to be supporting their business instead of the other way around. With so many other food options, they need to improve their customer service. Will stay clear as much as possible.
