We've decided to give it a try as the reviews promised great food. We're actually on holiday in NYC & back home (Austria) it's really hard to get great Mexican or Brazilian food.... Well... it was the best Braz-Mex food we've ever had - as a party of 3 we had different meals (burrito, fajita, quesadilla) and dessert (passionfruit cream, flan) and everything was super delicious!

Definitely one of the best places in the area. It’s not very expensive but the food is amazing, portions are huge. Don’t expect any luxury from the interior- it’s pretty simple looking place, but the service is very nice , definitely deserved a good tip. 5 stars

Amazing authentic food .. great prices .. could not ask for a better meal .. try the mole poblano excellent and rich taste.. chicken was cooked perfect and the side salad was just the right amount.. We can’t wait to go back .. yummy yummy

We wanted to order from restaurant called pico, But they were very busy so we called this place. Braz Mex food is tasty we enjoyed everything,they will be come a new favorite 😋.

This place has some great authentic food. The location is convenient as there is usually parking and a big municipal lot across the street. The food is always good, fresh and very tasty. The staff is always pleasant and happy to serve their customers. I love the chicken fajitas and any of their tacos. The sides of rice and beans are also flavourful.

Get the fish and shrimp tacos and share them! This restaurant is so tasty it has become part of our regular rotation! The service is amazing. And the food!!!!!

I went there mad times because I’m Brazilian and they had they beat moqueca de peixe that I ever had! It’s a Brazilian fish stew served with rice. Coconut milk and palm oil (óleo de dendê). So this place BrazMex Cafe now has the best moqueca de peixe! It was so incredible!

Wow! I was not expecting this but the food was delicious! I ordered a vegetable burrito, rice and beans and french fries (which was brought out first and we ate quickly. Lol) Everything was fresh, flavorful and nicely portioned. The burrito came with a salad and mango dressing. The staff was accommodating and very friendly. I look forward to returning and trying other menu items.

First of all, I agree that the guacamole is incredible. You MUST try it. So much cilantro and nicely spiced. They actually make everything here to order. They even make the tortilla chips to order, so they are hot and tasty. You can actually watch them cooking it all. I ordered too damn much food and cannot help but eat it all. I am vegetarian and had no problems here. The staff is so friendly. This is my second time coming here and they remembered that I am vegetarian. They even recalled that I am trying to go vegan. They made great vegan options for me last time, but today I was as in the mood for dairy. Their quesadillas were incredible. Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. They made vegetarian enchiladas for me. Hell, they knew to tell me that I couldn’t eat the mole sauce because it has chicken broth in it. The music was great as well. This is a gem, Rockaway. This is the quality of food you get in Mexico. Totally authentic tasting. This not your Tex Mex standard food. Trust me. I know food. Eat here!

This place may look small but I was amazed by the quality of the food, the presentation, and the great service. I got the veggie quesadillas, and my friends got the beef tacos and chicken burrito. We all loved our food. The staff was very nice and the service was wonderful. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

My family and I recently discovered this place locally in our neighborhood and it is delicious. The food looks and tastes fresh and is flavorful. Feels like a home cooked meal with generous portions. We order from here at least twice a week, that’s how good it is. Highly recommend.

This establishment is impeccably clean and all the items on the menu are absolutely delicious, and so flavorful, authentic & always fresh. **Brazilian burger is fantastic!!, as are the tacos, and vegetables. The servers/cooks are honestly down to earth and work hard in their craft; which is seen with how the food was prepared and how it taste. We had ordered the brazaburger (fries were amazing, you could tell they're home made) and chicken quesadilla; which was really great and packing alot of flavor. Food taste fresh and I believe it's worth the price. Would definitely go again when I'm in neighborhood.

One of our weekly go-tos :) and our stomachs are always happy.

Service was great! I wish I asked the waiters name but he had gauge earrings- so kind! The food was really good. i had the peixe frito with french fries and salad. The fish was crisp and not oily season well. Would def recommend! (Lowkey wish they had more vegetarian options - I try not to limit my self when i go out to eat so the Peixe and grill shrimp was my only option)

3 fish tacos rice and beans $13.00 And you can choose between chicken or fish the price is the same. Not much flavor and the sauce on the side I really did not like it. Otherwise the here was good.

This is a very nice place. I had Fish Tacos which is served as 3 tacos with rice and black beans. Everything was very enjoyable. The tacos had a lot of fish in it, and you usually don't get that other places. It's not fry but more like steam or boiled, healthier. The rice and beans were good too. I've order to go but stay there to eat some inside, they were very nice and check on me. Pricewise is fair. I definitely recommend this place.

And because we asked for refills on water, we were charged twice. It was normal water, nothing fancy, but we were charged six dollars for it :/ Unless it is packaged and branded, I believe water should be free, so that was disappointing. Just something to keep in mind before dining in here.

This place is dirty and staffing is very rude

I was really hoping to place my first order tonight after having the menu left in my door a couple of days ago. However, the person who picked up the phone to take the order struggled to get a fairly simple order correct--even though I placed some of it in Spanish. After asking him to repeat the order a few times, he continued transcribing it completely wrong. Within several attempts, I decided to cancel the order altogether. The food sounds amazing but I'll have to wait until I can go there in person. Tonight will be a Doordash night.

Horrible… just horrible, placed an order for pickup, arrived a few minutes after order was supposed to be ready, waited 10 minutes and was given a bag of food and told it was my order. I asked the gentleman, does it have quesadilla, he said “no, you didn’t order”… showed him my order details… he told me “that order never came in”… cook then says “it just came in” meanwhile this is 25 minutes past when it was supposed to be picked up… I double checked with them about one of the items being made the way we requested without onions and pepper and they said well we already started it with onions and peppers and we have no Avacado or guacamole we can’t stop now, so I said “the food was supposed to be ready 30 minutes ago… we spent over $100 and now you don’t have Avacado or guacamole, we order two guacamole and chips!”…. He said “we refund you for the guacamole orders or you can cancel the whole order”… this isn’t the first time we have ordered from their website and our order “not get there” until we are supposed to pick it up… so I’m left looking to order food from somewhere else…
