We have discovered Andaaz and are in love!! Amazing food, our service has always been great (quick, friendly) and we can’t stop coming back. The paneer makhani is 10/10 (what I order every time) and my husband and I both love the chicken malai (so tender!!). It’s a little more upscale than your typical Indian restaurant; definitely a great place to come for date night or out with the family if you’re visiting Asheville. I think with this, the portions are actually appropriate, so don’t anticipate bringing home a lot of leftovers!
This is a review of their lunch buffet. Note they have five dollar mimosas! I have been to their lunch buffet a dozen times, and I am always thrilled with the fact that they change up their offerings. Yes, of course you’ll find the standards; tandoori chicken is here and masalas. But you will often find new items as well. Kale pakoras, a wonderful okra dish, some interesting, vegan options. One time there was an exquisite mushroom dish, and lately they have had some really nice crispy fish dishes. I love the fact that it’s not the same standard buffet you find at other places, but the classics that you expect are still here. Plus 5 dollar mimosas! They mix up the flavors as well. One time it was pineapple; one time it was watermelon. Please bring back the watermelon! And you can always have a traditional orange juice mimosa. The service is as expected and adequate. Since it is a buffet, servers come to the table, take your drink order, take away your empty plates, and sometimes when I need a second mimosa, I will flag somebody down, but really the service is fine for a Buffet. The only problem is that when I go to some of the cheaper buffets in town, they feel greasy in comparison. The food here is so fresh and well balanced; it’s a little bit more expensive than some of the Indian buffets in town, but worth a few extra dollars!
Best Indian food we had in a while. We were going back home from our Smoky Mountain trip, the Indian motel owner recommended us this place, it was an hour detour and we decided to give it a try and we must say it was worth the detour. We reached there 15 mins before their closing time, with our surprise they took us in for dine in. The owner is so welcoming. They also have buffet menu but we decided to try À la cart and we have ordered few dishes all turned out to be excellent. Their crispy Palak Chaat is delicious and Chaat lover should try it. Even my choose toddler enjoyed the food. And best part they have Indian beers too. I mean getting a kingfisher beer was the best part my husband enjoyed it. This is almost 3 hrs drive from our place and we definitely ll visit it again to try the things we were not able to this time. And yes the decor is just great.
Gone to the usual places in town but hadn’t had a chance to dine at Andaaz yet. It’s a great location in Biltmore area and close to downtown Asheville. The interior is well decorated and welcoming. The staff were especially attentive and everyone at our table was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious! From the got cheese naan to the lamb korma everything was well seasoned. We will have to try their lunch menu and options here shortly. Cheers!!
Amazing cuisine! This is a 5 - star restaurant. The atmosphere, music, food and service! Capital "W" - wow! It's hard to make a selection. No matter where you look, you'll find something unique and fun! ...and don't forget about the cocktails! Recommend to make a reservation - you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
I have never eaten at an all you can eat Indian buffet before, and this one was fantastic. Plenty of vegetarian options and delicious meat. We spent $25 per person, and were beyond stuffed. My personal favorite was the Chicken Masala.
The best Indian Restaurant in town. I heard that it's a new Restaurant, but food is really good and delicious. We went there for buffet, we liked each and every thing in the buffet. The Ambience is really great. With that great Ambience for a moment, I felt that I am in India. They have bar table as well. Apart from food and Ambience, their service is Amazing. They are all friendly people specially, MANDY AND CHRISTINE you guys are very nice. We liked you people Not just for the way you treat and serve the customers, you know about Indian traditions, food and even about Indian gods and Dieties. There is nothing to point out. Keep up the good work guys. When ever I come to Asheville, will definitely come to your restaurant to have food. Big cheers to you all
Exceptional Culinary Delight at Andaaz, Asheville Last week, I had the pleasure of dining at Andaaz, a gem of a restaurant in the heart of Asheville, NC. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu, a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine, offered an array of mouth-watering dishes. I started with the Samosa Chaat, which was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. For the main course, the Chicken Curry was a revelation. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was rich and aromatic, a true testament to the chef’s skill in balancing spices. What truly set Andaaz apart was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a great dining experience. Their recommendations were spot on, and they went above and beyond to accommodate dietary preferences. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience. The decor was elegant yet comfortable, creating a warm and welcoming environment that complemented the meal perfectly. Andaaz is not just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that delights the senses. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Asheville. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or just love great food, Andaaz won’t disappoint. And I believe this is way better than the overhyped Chai Paani.
From the moment I walked in Andaaz, I was in love. The decor, music, and ambiance were so right. The wait staff was very pleasant. My waitress, Sarra, was so very nice and helpful. Her suggestions were perfect. I had 2 appetizers, the Mango Shrimp Tandoori and the Gobi Manchurian. They were both packed with flavor. For my entree, I had Andaaz Special Biryani (w/o egg). I was surprised and completely satisfied with the size. The meat selections paired with the seasoned rice were what I didn't know I needed. I also had the Rosemary Naan. If you've never had it, give it a try! I ended my meal with dessert. The Gulab Jamun. The menu says cheesecake dumplings, but they're more like donut holes. I was not disappointed. A sweet cap on a perfect meal. The portion sizes were great, and I was able to take plenty of food home! I wish there was one in CLT, but anytime I'm in Asheville, I will eat at Andaaz!
Andaaz: Where Indian Cuisine and Hospitality Reach Unprecedented Heights! Prepare to embark on a mesmerizing journey through the flavors and culture of India at Andaaz, located in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the charming couple who own this remarkable establishment, hailing from the very land that inspires their culinary creations. The restaurant's decor was a breathtaking fusion of tradition and elegance. Brass statues of revered gods and goddesses adorned the surroundings, creating an aura of divine presence. At the entrance, a majestic 5-foot Natraj brass idol welcomed us, setting the tone for an experience like no other. As we ventured further, we were captivated by the vibrant display of Indian arts, crafts, and lamps, a true feast for the eyes. In the waiting area, we found ourselves immersed in a tapestry of colors, with vibrant cushions showcasing intricate embroidery, exuding warmth and comfort. It was clear that every detail had been carefully curated to transport guests to the heart of India. The owners themselves were paragons of hospitality, extending a warm and genuine welcome to each and every guest. Their dedication to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere was palpable, and their willingness to socialize and connect with patrons made us feel like cherished friends. The attentive and knowledgeable staff, treating us as honored guests, further elevated our dining experience. They took the time to guide us through the menu, sharing insights and recommendations. It was Manager Mark who truly stood out, his passion for the cuisine and commitment to providing exceptional service shining through. With his expertise, he helped us navigate the culinary wonders that lay before us, ensuring our choices were nothing short of exceptional. Our gastronomic adventure began with the classic Chicken Tandoori, where the spices had permeated every tender morsel, resulting in a dish that was cooked to perfection. The Paneer Masala showcased the finesse of Indian flavors, with a symphony of spices harmonizing with the succulent paneer. The Goat Roganjosh, a culinary masterpiece, boasted a velvety gravy infused with a delightful blend of aromatic spices, while the naans were the ideal accompaniment, flawlessly baked and irresistibly soft. As we savored each bite, it became abundantly clear that Andaaz stands as the pinnacle of Indian cuisine in America. Having dined at countless restaurants across the globe, including renowned culinary destinations like Italy, Paris, Switzerland, London, and New York, we can confidently say that Andaaz surpasses them all in its authentic representation of Indian gastronomy. The Paneer Makhani, with its rich flavors and the perfect balance of cream and butter, transported us to the very essence of this beloved Indian dish. The Lamb Roganjosh showcased a gravy that was a symphony of spices, expertly complementing the tender and succulent pieces of lamb. And the Chicken Tandoori, marinated to perfection and cooked to juicy perfection, left us yearning for more. To conclude our extraordinary meal, we were treated to the enchanting Safron Kheer, a delicately sweet rice pudding infused with the essence of saffron. Its flavors embraced us, evoking memories of India's rich culinary heritage and leaving an indelible impression. Andaaz is not just a restaurant; it is a manifestation of creativity, passion, and artistry. Every aspect, from the food to the ambiance and the impeccable service, speaks to the dedication and commitment of the owners and staff. It is with great enthusiasm that we recommend Andaaz as the ultimate destination for those seeking an authentic and unforgettable Indian dining experience. Whether you are a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or simply an adventurous food lover, a visit to Andaaz is an absolute must. Allow yourself to be immersed in a world of flavor, culture, and warmth. It is here, nestled in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina, that the best of India can be found.
Words truly cannot even describe my visit here! The food was out of this world. Every item came out hot and fresh. Service from the time we entered the restaurant until the time we left was superior. The food was so flavorful, this would definitely have to be the best Indian restaurant I have visited. I will definitely return soon. I would strongly recommend getting reservations.
Enjoyed lunch here with our son and daugter-in-love. Great food, attentive service. Such a full variety on the buffet offering something for everyone, whether you like it spicy or mild, meat, vegetarian, or gluten free. Thanks for a great experience. Highly recommend!
I thought I had found the best tandoori chicken in Harrisburg PA but I was wrong. You see my husband and I stopping at Indian restaurant every time we're traveling around the country. We've driven from Seattle, WA to Boston, MA so that's a lot of Indian restaurants. This place has the best Tandoori chicken we've ever had in all our travels. So flavorful, so tender, so juicy! And, it was on their lunch buffet. All their various curries we're also full of flavor, with a few spicy ones and a few amazingly seasoned ones minus the 🔥. What an amazing find! I'm sure we'll make the effort to eat here again! Update: we stopped again and it was just as amazing years before. You've got to have their chicken tikka masala. Update Sept '23: another home run! This time they had cabbage pakoras - Amazingly fresh and crispy! Again, I can't say enough! We drove an hour and forty-five minutes from Knoxville, TN and they have yet to disappoint! Keep up the amazing cooking
My first time here with family. It is only a block away from Biltmore Estate and we went for the Lunch Buffet on a Sunday. There is limited parking available adjacent to the restaurant but there is free roadside parking available nearby. The ambience is great and the food was fresh and delicious. The Naan bread was the best I have had ever. The lunch buffet had a variety of dishes and desserts. The service could be tightened up a little. Overall a great find and will visit again!
Yummy food: crispy spinach, spicy cauliflower, lamb dish and chicken lettuce wraps were awesome. But the atmosphere was so amazing and we had the most relaxing and romantic seat thank you for that. The service was fast, responsive and helpful. Wow is all I can say. The flavors were amazing and service fabulous!
First time diner with my sister. Atmosphere was elegant and relaxing. We enjoyed the Saturday buffet, didn't realize bottomless mimosas were included...when in Rome :) The fresh squeezed juice selection was a refreshing surprise. All the dishes were fantastic with a good mix of vegan options. Definitely recommend and will be returning. Service as attentive and quick.
Great restaurant! The dishes are so amazing. The food is maybe even better the next day or two later. Lamb shank, Lamb Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala all medium to hot spiciness and all delicious 😋 . They can bring the heat so be careful.
Food was excellent, decor quaint and cozy, and prices were reasonable. We had the Wild Mushroom Korma, Lamb Vindaloo, 3 types of Naan (the goat cheese Naan was the vest, and vegetable panoramic.
Highly recommended. The food was tasty and flavorful so were the drinks and cocktails selection. The best part is the service!!! All the staff including owner and manager made us feel like home and took good care of us. Can’t wait to go again.
As someone who isn't the biggest fan of Indian food, this place was amazing! The food was delicious and filling. The only thing I'd say is that the food took a little long to come out. However, it was busy, and id rather wait for amazing food than get poor quality food that's quicker
I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants on the west and east coast US, and I have to say this place is amazing and ranks close to the top of my list. We got there just before the busy evening and we’re seated quickly. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and my wife the Chana Masala. The food came out quick! Our server was amazing and then the owner came to greet us and took a personal interest in us. Even better than the service was the food, the Vindaloo had an amazing savory freshness to each bite, the meat was tender and well seasoned. I love naan and I appreciate the amount of naan receive for one order. We finished out with a delicious Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream which was just the right portion size after a filling and satisfying main course. If you’re in Asheville I totally recommend you stop by this place, make a reservation though as they can get very busy in the evening.
Had an opportunity to try Buffet Lunch and Dinner at Andaaz recently! Extremely satisfied with the quality! It was two years ago I tried it for the first time during a visit! The quality stayed the same! Dine in prices might be lil high but they are worthy for the quality! Staff and the management were always very nice! I would definitely recommend this place for Indian food in Asheville!
Best Indian Food in Asheville and excellent service!! I have usually visited during lunch hours for the delicious buffet but the diner menu is top notch. I will definitely become a regular here. Thank you for the great service!
Very unique selection of starters but brings the right kick when it comes to Indian entrees. Definitely coming back when I'm in Asheville next. :) Recommend calling in advance and checking if they can squeeze you in.
From the moment you walk into Andaaz, there is a welcoming atmosphere in the spacious restaurant from the seating host to the servers. The dining is very elegantly set and the ambiance of fine dining. And then there is the food.. It’s not often that I am at a loss for words to describe a delicious meal! But Andaaz has me fumbling for the right expression to describe the symphony of flavors that was with every bite! You just have to try it yourself. So next time you are in Asheville, make yourself a reservation at Andaaz and experience an authentic Indian cuisine.
WOW! We just moved to Asheville and wanted some Indian food and we are so glad we we were recommended Andaaz. The owner and staff were amazing as soon as we walked in the door. We had a 5-10 minute wait for a high top around 8pm on a Saturday night and the owner came over and introduced himself and gave us menu recommendations while we waited! We could tell he is so passionate about the food and the service they are putting out at the restaurant <3. I got the non vegetarian Thali and my plus one got the Chicken Makhani. WE LOVED THESE DISHES. The flavors were filled with depth (perfectly savory and sweet at the same time) and made us feel so cozy inside. We also tried the chili and cilantro naan and the garlic naan. This was a great addition to our meal! Overall we were so happy with the interactions, service, and quality of food we had at Andaaz and we will 100% be back! Definitely check it out if you are in town!
Andaaz Indian restaurant is the best fine dining restaurant in Asheville i ever seen. All the appetizers, tandoori dishes and main course are very delicious and the hospitality is mind blowing. Also the lunch buffet is awesome. You will only get the authentic food at Andaaz Indian restaurant because the all the chef’s are best compare to any other restaurant. I specifically recommend all of you to visit this restaurant regularly.
Fantastic Indian food, right in Biltmore village. This is now my second favorite Indian restaurant in the USA! We ordered cocktails, a bottle of cava, veg samosa starter, one veg and one non-veg thali sampler platter. We upgraded to garlic naan and rosemary naan, both of which I highly recommend. After tax, tip, and all the alcohol, the total came in under $150. We had a complete meal leftover. Not bad for a fancy anniversary dinner!
High quality curry dishes, beautiful atmosphere, great drinks. We tried a rosemary and a garlic naan, a mango lasso, a featured cocktail, and 2 vegetarian curries. The naan was flat but tasted great. We will definitely return
An exquisite dining experience. The ambience- interior design, decor is all around very pleasant. The food is delicious & beautifully presented. Every single dish we tried was amazing, very flavorful and perfectly balanced. The service is impeccable! Did last minute reservations and the owner was amazing to arrange for us. We were hosted by Virender and he introduced the chef also to us Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in the US located at a premium location near to Biltmore Estate!! I would definitely recommend everyone visiting Asheville.
Absolutely loved the buffet so many options if you are a vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. The ambiance is so cozy and service was on point. Loved the watermelon juice it’s at the bar.
The food was just great along with customer service. We ordered Malai kofta and it was the best I had so far. Also Dal makhni was too good. I highly recommend to visit this indian restaurant if you're in the Asheville area.
Incredible, authentic food! Loaded with flavor and a beautiful atmosphere! Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable of the menu! We ordered a bunch of different items and split between the group so we could try a variety of dishes! HIGHLY recommend the saag paneer for anyone who eats plant based!
Started out a bit slow as the parking around the restaurant is a bit challenging. After getting to the restaurant things got better. Seated with our reservations right away and service was good. Had lamb chops, naan, and a cauliflower/potato dish and all were among the best Indian food we have had (including when we traveled in India). Very nice dinner
A must visit. Really enjoyed the Dal Makhani and the Chili Garlic naan via delivery through DoorDash. Food was wrapped well, portions were huge (so prepare for leftovers) and the order came with 3 sauces which were all great. The Dal makhani was as good as the ones I’ve had in Delhi, and unlike so many other places, had a thick consistency with just the right bit of creaminess. I asked for Spicy and it was closer to Medium but was nonetheless very flavorful. 5/23 edit: The Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Masala, Vegetable Tikka Masala, Onion Kulcha and Raita all outstanding as well. I will note that the chef/owner noted my request for Spicy and delivered on it! Highly recommend this - eaten at a few Indian places in Asheville and we kept going back to this one.
Absolutely 10/10. Everything from the curry to the naan to the rice to the cocktails to the service was amazing. If you’re considering getting the railway goat just do it- the spice levels are pretty mild (I got medium to be safe but could have happily bumped it up to hot) and the meat is fall off the bone tender. It wasn’t the cheapest Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to but it was of my favorites!
Possibly my favorite restaurant in all of Asheville. Every dish is perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor. If you like Indian food, you will love Andaaz. The menu is thoughtful, and it made choosing entrees deliciously difficult. We settled on Chicken Badami Korma and Paneer Makhani and were rewarded with savory satisfaction. Stop in on your way back from the Biltmore or anytime really.
5 stars! If you are new to the area or have been here years. This place really blew me away. I had the lunch buffet, and there was nothing up there that wasn't delicious, and it was all terrific. A must go! (Update) Still terrific
I had some business in Ashville and I looked up some local restaurants for lunch. I've always in the lookout for Indian buffets because I haven't been to one since before covid. I saw that Ashville has several and decided in Andaaz. I was so happy with this place. All the food was great. Full of flavor and a lot of great meat and veg options. I'll be back anytime I come to the area.
New and recently took over the old Rezaz space. This is one of my new favorite restaurants… It’s very elegant in the service is impeccable… The food is authentic, perfectly spiced and the selected meats are perfectly cooked… I highly recommend a crab appetizer it’s perfect to share or just keep to yourself LOL I love the fact that they take reservations and everyone is so friendly. They literally wait on you hand and foot and I really genuinely interested in knowing that you’re having a great dining experience and that you are enjoying your meal… I love the atmosphere… It’s very welcoming with a touch of class. I already have reservations again for this weekend…
Andaaz is an excellent Indian Restaurant in the historic biltmore village. The atmosphere is upscale but the dress code was more casual. The food was all excellent. I had the non-veg thali which is a platter that came with chicken tikka mekhali (butter chicken), a chili lamb, vegetable curry, and lentil curry. There was also a sauce that resembled tzatziki which paired well with all of the dishes. It also came with rice and naan. It was more expensive than anything else but I think it is well worth it. The balance of flavors is perfect and you get to try some of everything. Overall a great experience, great atmosphere, and stellar food.
Our team and customer dinner was a true delight. We were promptly seated and treated to an exceptional dining experience with delectable cuisine in a fantastic ambiance. The service was truly outstanding and made our evening unforgettable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want good Indian food in Asheville.
The food's flavors were incredibly soothing to the soul, providing a delightful culinary experience. However, the service was sluggish and fell short of my expectations. Nevertheless, the exceptional taste of the food makes it worth a visit, despite the higher price point.
Here is the review from an Indian guy. > Most of indians like spicy foods, but be aware this restaurant does not offer spicy foods in buffet. I guess its because of the reason Americans not pretty used to such spicy level. > Buffet items are very tasty which verity of chicken items like kebabs and chicken makhani. > Atmosphere and Lighting are one of the best I have ever seen. So peaceful to eat and enjoy the moment.
For their lunch buffet, you are paying for the ambience. This beautiful restaurant has been designed really well and the interior decoration is spectacular. The food itself is also pretty good, however, if you are vegetarian, they have extremely limited options here. When we came, they had one mushroom dish and one cauliflower and potato dish for vegetarians. It would be nice if they could at least include one or two more dishes for vegetarians, including a paneer dish. If you eat meat, they have pretty good chicken dishes, as well as an interesting fish curry. Parking is not easy here, as they only have about 20 parking spots that are shared with a few other businesses. Most likely, you will have to park on the street somewhere else and walk here.
Andaaz has a very good ambiance, and is tastefully decorated. The food itself was decent(not too spicy though) and the service was good. However the main reason I'm docking a star is because they had a total of two high chairs for such a large restaurant. We had to take turns to eat our food since the party before us took both chairs.
Went for lunch buffet and I thought it was a good Indian restaurant, though coming here for dinner might be a wiser option. Chicken (and potatoes) were surprisingly cooked. I was very happy to see that for once there was an Indian restaurant that had actually cooked their chicken and not served it raw. Dal was not great, also aloo palak had no salt. Zero salt whatsoever and was super bland. The lunch buffet had chutneys, soup, salad, rice, pakoras, naan, chicken, dal, aloo/chicken curry, kheer, payasum. As for drinks, the chai was really good but the lemon soda was just tonic water with a couple of drops of lemon juice. The ambiance was fantastic though! Really beautiful and great that there are idols, statues, paintings, etc from Indian culture. Service was also mediocre, waiters checked up on us but it was overall okay. 4/5
It you are visiting biltmore house, this is a great place for dinner. Comforting atmosphere with friendly staff. I visited on Wednesday night and they were busy. I recommend a reservation through the open table. Food: I ordered chicken tika marsala and it was delicious! We did medium spicy and it was not spicy at all ( I am not good with spicy) . They served unlimited rice so if you need more rice ask for it! We also ordered Saag Paneer it goes well with garlic naan. Dessert: Gulab jamun It was my first time having Indian dessert but it was such a epic experience. It is chewy pastry in a rose water? Served with vanilla ice cream. Parking: there is a free parking lot in front of the restaurant but it was full so I had to find another parking space. Definitely check it out!
We went here over the weekend. We called in and made reservations and would highly recommend as well. We got there 30 minutes before our reservation time. We were seated 10 minutes of being there. Our Server Sam was fabulous. She recommended and gave pointers of some of their popular dishes. We ordered medium spicy food (3/5 🌶️) and we found it to be very spicy for our taste pallet. We can only taste red chill powder and not any flavors. Paid about $86 for 2 people for veg Appetizer, 2 Curries, 1 Naan and 2 Rotis. Overall 3.65/5 ⭐️
In a sentence: Not for Indians. The place has close to none Indian families and after going once I can see why. The portions are tiny. Unlike most Indian restaurants any dish you order will be meant for one maybe two people. The food was sweet (we ordered medium) and the biryani was tasteless. Overall the food was below average for an Indian restaurant but the service was amazing. We forgot one of our belongings (expensive), the waitress ran out to give it to us without skipping a beat. Overall if you are used to the average Indian restaurant this is not for you. If you want to try something different then you should definitely go. Also before I forget there probably won’t be parking there so just park at the McDonald’s across the street. And again props to the waitress for returning our things.
