Great experience at this particular location! It was evident from the start that the manager, Lisa, had the pulse of her staff on her own rhythm! All were smiling, friendly and showed that they enjoyed working there...not one frown. Service was timely and the food was great! Lisa came around to check on me as much as my server and made me feel welcome! I've been to many Applebee's over the years, but the Athens store sets the standard!

The atmosphere this location gives off is only comparable to Christmas morning when you were 8 years old. Sitting down and being greeted by the most whole hearted people, such as Delaney and Reginald, and the food is only comparable to Gordon Ramseyes cooking. This place brings a vibe better than Stephen’s on parents weekend.

2nd time, we have stopped here on our way through town. It is the best food I have ever had at any Applebees! Both times we had excellent servers and it was very clean. We stopped at peak dinner time on a Friday night with no parking spaces left in their lot and immediately got seated! The food was still excellent and came out quicker than expected due to the full restaurant. Will stop here everytime we go through Athens from now on. This eating establishment is simply unmatched. The service provided here by the kind folk that are employed are the kindest humans to walk the earth next to Jesus Christ himself. The second i step foot into this fine dining establishment i get goose bumps all over. One time in walked in and got so overwhelmed with the service i fainted but the fine folk that work there nursed me back to health. I would not be surprised to know these people…. no angels weren't sent here by god himself to help guide me on my journey through life. I didn't believe in God until I stepped into this Applebees for the first time. It was truly incredible. Reggie is truly a mentor, and a highly respected individual. His service is second to none. I may name all of my children Reggie no matter what gender. Truly an outstanding waiter. The general manager is also an impeccable Individual, he gave us an old Applebees sign instead of throwing it in the trash. He truly cares about the planet by recycling a wonderful sign. Overall this Applebees has changed my life. I am truly honored and humbled to be associated with this wonderful dining establishment.

The food was delicious!!! My mom and I had the 2 for $25 deal and it is so worth the price! My mom had the 6oz steak meal and I had the chicken parmesan alfredo. We also got the Caramel Apple Pie for dessert and it was fantastic!!! Our waitress did a great job as well! The restaurant was very clean and comfortable! We will definitely be back again sometime!

Applebee's has gotten better, food included. The place could use a lite remodel or Refresh. Many of the booths have seat cushions that are just worn out. Tables that wobble. Update the lighting as well for a more comfortable evening experience. 👍👍👍👍

Applebee’s Grill in Athens, Ohio, never disappoints! Their burgers are always cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and loaded with delicious toppings. The appetizers are just as amazing, especially the boneless wings and mozzarella sticks. Every time I visit, the service is top-notch. Olivia and Reggie are two of the best waiters—always friendly, attentive, and make sure everything is perfect. If you’re looking for a great meal with excellent service, this is the place to go. We went here for our manager christmas party. They were willing to accommodate our 18 people (Texas Roadhouse does not). The music was not too loud. We could talk amongst ourselves without difficulty. Our servers were great but I didn't catch names. We went at 3:30pm on a Thursday afternoon, December 19th. It wasn't crowded. We even utilized an empty table for our gifts while we ate. No one had issues with their order. All the adult beverages were amazing! Appetizers were great and we had ample time to enjoy them before our dinner came out. Bathroom was clean and had paper towels! I hate noisy air dryers!!

Great meal for a Friday lunch. The burger special brought us in, but I ended up having a tex mex shrimp bowl instead. Really good. My date was really impressed with the chicken sandwich option for the same price as the burger, she everything was cooked perfectly. Great service, really nice experience.

I’m a huge fan of Applebee’s chain. Their restaurants are usually a hit or miss. But this particular location was great when me and a friend went on a Thursday afternoon. The service was good, food was great like always. The only downside was a drunk randomly walked up to our table and tried to hold a conversation lol. Other than that everything was great. We met friends there, had pretzels for an appetizer, amazing, warm with crunchy outside and soft and warm insides. Steaks tasted really good and cooked perfectly, all 3 unfortunately was a little tough.

Sadly, I don’t take any pics but it was Applebees with a regular feel. Not good bad nor exceptional. The waiter was good no issues. Would I recommend yes but it was…ok.

Our server was not quite as attentive as some of the other servers. It was not particularly busy during our visit but we waited for refills which came just as we were finishing our meal. The Tex Mex Cilantro Shrimp bowl was very good, the shrimp were not overcooked or rubbery and the veggies were fresh.

The place was super busy when we got there. But our waiter was really great . He never slowed down whole time we were there. Was still very attentive to everyone's needs. So his mood really helped us keep a positive attitude. Really good experience with both the staff and especially the food.

Mixed drinks were a tad bit on the warmer side and maybe a tad bit watered down. Although they were $1 drink I can't complain. But you can't beat the $1 drinks. The appetizers are always worth the trip. They are so good so yummy always fresh and hot. Wait staff is always nice but not always 100% knowledgeable. I assume that's because they do have a slight turn around and last gentleman I am pretty sure was a tad bit on the new side. Overall still great place to meet up with friends or family or just visit when you are alone. What I really really do like is they do have sports on several TVs. Nothing like having some appetizers a drink and some sports...now that makes you feel relaxed.

Honestly I really like the ambiance of the place. The food is always good. My favorite are the honey BBQ wings. The entrees are good. My favorite is the chicken tenders basket. And I don't care what anybody says the maple Blondie is an amazing dessert. I will die on this hill. It's a good place to kick back and enjoy yourself and your company.

I like this place because you can arrive at 11pm and still order food. On one occasion the food was great with good sized portions. Yet on another the chicken was very chewy(like eating stacked up rubber bands ) and dry with smallish portions. My wifes meals are always good. Inconsistent is how i would describe the food quality.

This was a nice find. We were so hungry and to us 830 is late to have dinner. We got right in seated and served within an hour. The food was hot and freshly made. My salad was so good my 16 year old grand daughter even liked it.

I've had Applebee's at a different location and wasn't impressed. This place was much better. I ordered the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad and it was fantastic. Our server was Austin he was great! Highly recommend if you're unsure what you want to eat they have a good variety!

The wait was not bad at all they said 30 minutes it only took 15 minutes before we got seated. Would not recommend being placed right behind the hottest station that was a bit annoying. The appetizers took a while to get and right after within 3 minutes there was dinner timing with food was off. The check was offered before asking if we would like dessert or anything else. Server seemed more interested in the table with more people. Had to grab the attention of two other employees during our dinner to address various issues. Food was acceptable, but in retrospect I wish I went with a more traditional dish. I'm sort of disappointed with my experience.

Waitress was wonderful (Jennifer) so polite, made us laugh and prompt. Greeter/Seater (Olivia) sweet smile and so kind. Manager brought us our pretzel and beer cheese out. Our experience was ok. Our waiter was nice, but distant. (Meaning he was there far and few between dropping off stuff or taking order) potatoes were cold of my husband's. The food was fine, just kinda tasted massed produced (if that makes sense) could have just been an off day for them, it happens. Was decently busy for lunch.

On one hand I have a hard time with the menu and struggled to find something I might like; on the other hand its nice to see something different. I noticed that they offered five burgers and four of them had bacon, not a fan of bacon on my burgers. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan on Fettuccine... the chicken was like chicken fried steak (2 each) and it was okay. The fettuccine was very very bland with not enough sauce. I will say the amount of food was plentiful. We were upsold Garlic Bread for $1 each; it was an overcooked not very good breadstick. My wife had dessert, it looked really good. She had tea, I had pop. Our meal came to $44 plus tip. Our waiter, Luke, was a very well mannered pleasant young man. He was a very good waiter. Overall the food was fair and the service was great. With tip the meal came to over $50, very much not worth it.

I used the online ordering for inside pick up and my order was complete just a few minutes after I arrived. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was cold. I also ordered the pretzels with beer cheese dip. Although it tasted good I wish I could post pictures, they literally gave me less than half a cup, maybe 4 TBS. There was no butter or sour cream for my baked potato. My sirloin was cooked to perfection and tasted phenomenal. The mac and cheese was also delicious. Would I return? Eh, probably not.

When we walked in the hostess didn't say hi or greeted us. Not a smile nothing and said all she had was high tops which we sat at for 50 minutes till we got an appetizer. The manager took off the appetizer which was fine but she seemed overwhelmed. We got to-go boxes because we sat for a while for an appetizer. I got the whiskey bacon burger with pink. No pink at all and With all the toppings which I requested to have no toppings. My moms food was chicken fettuccine and the breadstick was burnt. Did not feel welcomed at all.

I ordered a medium rare steak that came well done. I ordered buffalo wings that came as BBQ. The loaded mashed potatoes were absolutely fantastic. Caesar salad was little to drenched in dressing. Mozzarella sticks or fried just fine. And I really enjoyed the Chicken Wonton Tacos. I ordered for pickup. I was told it would be 15 minutes but ended up being about 45 minutes. The employee that came to the car was extremely nice and polite

Pictures in menu make food look delicious... it doesn't come that way. Thank goodness we were on a gift card. We're not planning on returning anytime soon.

There’s a certain standard of service you expect from someone serving you at a restaurant. We had about 3 different people wait on us, we didn’t even know who to tip. And when we did tip, we took into account the wait on our food, the lack of checking us , like if our food was even good or not. It’s was fine, warm at least. 4 different people walked by our empty plates and by the fifth one, she finally cleared our plates. Don’t expect much. I understand people have to make a living in this time, but I work in the service industry also and would’ve gotten fired for the service I had.

Table was sticky. Flies were everywhere!! I asked for no pink in my burger and it was full of blood. Never again. Better off to go to Bob Evan's. The only good part was our waitress. She was very nice and we didn't wait long for drinks and appetizers.

Car side is usually hit or miss. Sometimes the food is ready when ya get there, other times you’re waiting for nearly 15 minutes. Sometimes you pull up and wait for them to come out to you so you hafta call, even though that’s not how it’s supposed to work. It was the first time returning after 2 years. The last time I went, I found a giant grilled ball of wax paper that looked like a mushroom in my steak. It was approximately the size of dinner roll. I sent the food back, and left hungry. We decided to eat here this time because there was an hour and ten minute wait at our usual steak place. Our food took forever to come out, my steak was nothing but fat, and the green beans still had ice crystals in them. I sent the food back, and refused replacements. My wife ordered takeout while sitting at the table for our usual place, and I ate at home. I won't go back. Ever.

We were seated in the bar area with our children. We looked through the menu and figured out what we wanted. And we waited. And waited. And waited. And no one ever came to the table to greet us or take our order for drinks or anything. I went on the website and ordered the meal to go. Sitting at the table over ten minutes and not one person even acknowledged us. Also wanted to add that our order was then going to be ready for pickup at 6:16pm only to finally have it in hand at 6:21 where we took it back to the hotel and ate our half cold meal. Yum. I did a pickup order today. I ordered a steak medium rare and I got a well done. I didn't order broccoli and got broccoli. I never get the broccoli because it is nasty. Like you shouldn't be serving this broccoli to anyone. There is spots even in the stems. Needless to say I won't be back. $16 steak meal that I can't eat.

I have boycotted this place in the past because of the cooking I try it every now and again because honestly I like the menu items. It is honestly just a mixed bag you NEVER know how the food will come out!! I had wings and waffle pub fries today the wings were So overcooked you couldn't stab your fork in them and had to cut them with a knife!! The Waffle pub fries were Obviously cooked in the Microwave the were horrible and the bacon was so overcooked it No flavor. Oh and the Celery was not crisp and was a Few days old. You can try your luck with the Athens Location and I hope yours is better than mine, there is Always an Issue with my food there. I wish they could just figure out how to Properly cook their food

All you can eat boneless chicken wings. Nothing more than dry chuck of white of meat. This comes with 5 different sauces that I found 4 out of 5 not good to put it lightly. The manager would not say what the wings were made of. He said they were like the wings you get elsewhere. This boneless wing thing has to stop. Tell the people the truth about what your serving and stop trying to get over on your customers. No salad bar.

Here is a fun story. I bought 62 dollars of food to go and they screwed the meal up pretty bad. I contacted them and was told by the manager I'd get 2 free meals as an attempt to make up for the issues. I went with my family, two of the entrees were covered but not the meal. Had major issues with our server not being available. They forgot to serve us our salads. They mixed up some of our order and the coffee was cold. No one was wearing a name tag. The whole experience was awful. And to beat it all I ended up paying 27 dollars for my kids entrees, drinks, and appetizers. So I paid another 23 for them to fail at making up for previous issues.

I waited 20 minutes without being asked what I wanted to drink or eat. Was not introduced to a server. Hostess walked past us 5 times stared at us seeing without drinks. One of the managers walked past us seeing that we didn’t have a drink or food. Horrible service. Especially for the first time of us going to this particular Applebees. You need to get your stuff together. Absolutely unacceptable.

This was not a good experience. We ordered 2 8oz steaks, both were to be medium rare. They were both well done. We were rushed into given us our checks because they was trying to close down with a hr and a half left till closing.

If I could give zero stars I would. Three of us waited over 45 minutes for 2 side Caesar salads, 2 cups of soup, chicken wonton tacos and a chicken fajita meal. When the salads were finally brought, they were all brown and completely drowned in dressing. Disgusting! Our waitress barely acknowledged us the whole time. No refill on our water. The only time she stopped at our table was when I stopped her. The manager did personally remake our salads and comp our meal. However it was hardly worth the wait. 😫

Bar tender was friendly but wings were dry and cold. Poor

Stood in the front waited 10 mins to have someone seat us and staff just walked by us.not saying anything.so I just left. Was not even busy.

I go to applebee's at least once a week ,love it ....but when the manager an the host are so rude an run there mouth with other customers because we went in before them ,the door was being held open for us so we went ahead an went in an the manager says boy they must be hungry we about got trampled!!! The other( ladies )an the host continued to run there mouth while we ate !! My server was great the food was excellent but I will never go back 😢

Extremely poor experience all around, staff was sitting around more than working, we had a very simple order and was incorrectly made waitress never once asked if we'd like a refill on our drinks, by the time food had gotten to the table it wasn't only made incorrectly it was cold. We order burgers and fries and a appetizer of nachos. Place wasn't very busy at all and fully staffed absolutely a terrible dinner experience when your staff can clearly be heard talking about and making fun of the costumers. Needless to say I tip and I tip well I did not leave one on this night.

I was very unhappy when me and my family showed up to Apple bees. When we showed up a lady came out and yelled oh my gosh and slammed the door behind her. We didn’t come in due to her acting like that.

I realize that it is hard to get good help .But good lord waitress took out order pretty quick , we ordered when she took drink order it was one full hour for good to come out and it was pretty disgusting ordered a steak med rare came out med well also has the 4 cheese Mac/cheese& honey chicken . Chicken was a tad overcooked but the Mac and cheese was luke warm at best Mac was soggy and cheese was like watery soup, waitress never asked bore good was. Neither did the hostess / manager . We paid our bill BUT I can assure you we will never eat at an Applebees again 😖😖

Took about 35 minutes to get my food , which I understand being a Saturday night, but everything was cold 🥶, fries, sandwich 🥪, all cold ,, The booth behind me and beside me talked about how cold the food was when served . Hopefully next time a microwave will be made available for customer use .
