Our family loves this restaurant! There is something here for everyone and everything is delicious! The staff is very kind and attentive. I can genuinely say that we have never has a bad experience eating here. Always look forward to our next visit!

Dino was a great host, very friendly and attentive. We order a side house salad/Ceasar salad which were good portion sized. The roasted garlic dipping oil was fantastic, so great we took it home. Our 6" pizzas ( alfredo& supreme) were just the perfect size, tasted fantastic right down to the crust.

I have neglected to patronize this restaurant for some time simply because we tend to be creatures of habit. After 3 other recent trips to different restaurants in Athens and Tyler I always feel the service is lacking and the food is cookie cutter chain heat and serve. I just feel there is no value. If you want to be treated better than family. Have personalized servers that do not disappoint. Comfort food that is put together with love and perfected. Dino and his brother know how to cater to you with great food that I have been missing. Stefani our server was very attentive and down to earth. My compliments to the chef and his restaurant. Delicious Italian food, great prices and great service. The owner took the time to go around the tables to see if everyone was enjoying their meals. Very nice people. I ordered Tortellini a la Bolognese and my husband ordered Spaghetti with veal, both were delicious. I loved the bolognese!!! For dessert we had a Cannoli and it was amazing as well. Definitely recommend it.

We were visiting the area and chose this restaurant for its reviews and locale. We ordered an Alfredo pizza, Italian trio, ribeye and shrimp and Chicken alla Bianca. All 4 dishes were superb. Stephanie was our server and she did a phenomenal job of making sure we had everything we needed. So personable and accommodating .The owner made sure we were happy with the food and service’ I would definitely recommend.

As a celiac in a small town I figured I would probably have to eat crappy frozen gluten free pizza for the rest of my life. NOPE! Roma has some of the best gluten free pizza I have ever had!!! They also have gluten free pasta which was also amazing! And the best part is that I was 100% symptom free the next day which means they were careful not to cross contaminate. Can’t say enough good things! Thank you Roma!

I believe they changed owners at some point because the last time I came was maybe about 7-10 years ago. I had strategically avoided this place since then because the food and service were awful. My cousin invited me to lunch with him today and I'm glad I went. The (newest) owner was working along with the staff and was extremely friendly! We loved our waitress and she was very nice and accommodating as well! I got the chicken parm and it was amazing, the rolls were delicious and I couldn't help but feel sad I've missed out on this wonderful experience for so long! At the moment there is minimal decor and causes the building to echo, making it hard to hear the people right beside or in front of you....The architecture inside is very unique and fits the restaurant well, having some greenery and scenery added will help realize the overall aesthetic and also keep noise from bouncing off the walls. I will be going back here soon and I love the direction the new owner is taking this place!

Food tastes like Italian food is supposed to taste. Very satisfying. Try fettuccine Alfredo for a sauce to die for. Splurge a bit and have the Tiramisu. One taste and you know it did not come from the frozen food section of Walmart. Outside is not very appealing, but don’t let that stop you from parking and going in.

This place is my all time favorite place to eat. The service is wonderful and the NEW management is fantastic. Dino is very attentive & knows how to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Me and my wife had dinner last week. We have been meaning to try it out and heard good reviews. It didn't disappoint. Great chicken parm, salad and desserts. I ordered the veal parmesan, which was perfectly done—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and topped with a rich marinara and just-right layer of melted cheese. The atmosphere relaxed and quiet—almost like a private lunch. Our server, Dino, was kind, attentive, and offered great recommendations without ever feeling intrusive. His friendly approach added a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. Portions were generous, prices fair, and everyone at our table left happy and full. Absolutely amazing food. The staff is super friendly and the owner is too. Everything we have eaten there so far has been delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. You must get the garlic and olive oil to go with the bread it is simply the best!

First of all compliments to Dino absolutely perfect service, served us immediately and with his full attention to our every want and need. The food was exquisite we had Margerita pizza, Alfredo pizza and seafood Alfredo this food was served to us within 3 minutes of ordering and was served at the perfect temperature. I just stoped by Roma Italian and got a meat lovers pizza it was the best pizza i have ever had! I have been here in Athens my whole life and have tried every pizza place here and my honest opinion they have the best pizza for miles they also have some amazing Italian dishes that the owner him self cooks with his brother. The owner will even come and say hey and make sure everything is good. He is a vary kind person that loves his job and shows it in his food. Service was amazing always checking on you making sure your drink is full and food is good. Best experience I have had in a restaurant. thank you Roma Italian!

I've had the chicken picatta and a pizza this time around. Roma is fantastic for the food. The ambiance is relaxing and has a southern European feel. The wait staff is on point too. Outstanding service all the way around. We'll definitely be back.

We had a fantastic dinner at Roma Italian in Athens, and I want to give a special shoutout to Ashley, our server. She was attentive, and super helpful in helping us choose a wine that paired beautifully with our meal. We started with the Caprese salad. For the main course, I had the lobster ravioli special. It was absolutely wonderful. Next time, I plan to try the seafood Alfredo — it looked amazing. Roma continues to be a staple in Athens for good reason. The food is consistently excellent, the service is welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home.

My family and I have been getting the 18" cheese at least 5 days a week. Dino is awsome. However yesterday when we came by there was a rude redhead, I think Stephanie was her name. I never want to deal with her attitude again. If you're not happy where you are working you shouldn't make others suffer.

We have been coming here for sometimes now, the owner is super nice and remembers his customers, we have never had a bad meal here, they have the absolute best pizza I’ve ever had, the wait staff is always amazing as well, and if you stop in make sure to try the lemon cello cake it’s to die for.

I love this restaurant. I live about 15 minutes away, and I eat here about twice a week. I have never had a bad meal and I have been coming here for over a year. Today I am having the salmon piccata with gluten-free pasta. The gluten-free pasta and gluten-free pizza crust here is outstanding. I always eat gluten-free when I can, so I know when it is bad gluten-free. The owner Dino and his brother Giovanni (the chef) are phenomenal people. So friendly and inviting, they treat you like family. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Everything that we ate was 10/10 especially the cannoli. This was our first time trying cannoli and it exceeded expectations 10x. Although we are three hours away and only came to visit, Roma is top priority on our list next time we come to Athens. We will definitely be back and we will be requesting Dino!

5 stars across the board! My family has wondered how this restaurant was for nearly a year now, finally gave it a chance and WOW! We are impressed! When you walk in you're greeted with friendly smiles, cute interior and a mouth watering smell! The menus were easy to follow and had little descriptions of each dish. Our meals were delicious! I got the shrimp scampi, my husband got the beef lasagna and our daughter got the kids ravioli; we shared the calamari for an appetizer. Everything came out hot, fresh, and so flavorful! The portion sizes are perfect size. Our waitress was attentive and on top of things, making sure we had everything we needed and a great experience. The bathrooms were clean and smelled nice as well. I would definitely recommend eating here! We will definitely be coming back again!

Roma's has been a been a staple in Athens for years. I forget sometimes how good it actually is just because it's in Athens. So I don't go often but when I do it's always been delicious. I really like their Alfredo sauce....on anything.

Stopped for dinner going back home from my work trip today. The interior of the restaurant was just beautiful and classy. The music was lovely and the menu wasn't overwhelming. Kaydence the Host was very sweet and welcoming. She helped me narrow my options and I went with the chicken piccata with added mushrooms and kids spaghetti with meatballs and a slice of tiramisu. I decided to sit at a booth and read my book rather than outside in my car. That’s where I met Dino. I observed and noticed that he stopped and talked with everyone who was eating then made his way towards me. He was very funny and kind and told me in advance that the food was going to be delicious. Yes, he was right! For small Athens I’m impressed! Portions were great and the food was still steaming after my hour drive back home. Everything tasted very fresh and was cooked beautifully, just the way I love my piccata. The tiramisu was sweet, cold and delicious. Will I be back? Yes and I can’t wait until I’m in Athens again because I know where I will be going.

Roma Italian Restaurant in Athens is an absolute gem, don’t sleep on this place! From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We ordered the tortellini pesto, fettuccine Alfredo, and stromboli, and every single dish was incredibly delicious and clearly made with care. True five-star quality across the board. We started with the fried cheese sticks, which were perfectly crispy and melty, an excellent appetizer. The complementary bread rolls deserve a shoutout too! They were BIG, warm, fresh, and seriously tasty. One thing that really stood out was the sweet tea, hands down some of the best we’ve had. Refreshing and perfectly sweetened. And for dessert, the cheesecake was the perfect finish to the meal. It was rich, creamy, and absolutely satisfying. Overall, this was a 5-star experience in every way, food, quality, and flavor all on point. If you’re in Athens and craving Italian, Roma Italian Restaurant is a must-visit!

Passing through town and stopped for lunch. We had garlic bread, salads, pizza, and chicken ubriaca. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a great Italian restaurant in a small town! The customer service was EXCELLENT! Haven’t had that kind of service in a very long time. We’ll definitely make a point to stop when we pass through there again.

I was driving from Austin and I stopped in Athens to grab something to eat and I found Romas Italian restaurant. I was amazed by the hospitality, food,service. Dino was so nice he made sure that we got the order right . I wanted gluten free,I was surprised to get gluten free pizza crust with veggies. I am absolutely satisfied and I would highly recommend this to anyone coming to the area. Its a must try.I wpuld definitely come back.

Went in there cause i was feeling italian food. Was greeted very nicely by a waitress and was led to my table. Within 15, I had received my food (which was a pizza and spaghetti), and good Lord let me tell you Romas has the best pizza (and overall Italian food) in Texas! Updated review. Tonight we had spaghetti with meat sauce and senior/child lasagna. It was delicious. See photos this is now our third time here and every time the food has been exceptional. The service is also first-class. My husband and I went here for the first time and the food was delicious. In addition, we were asked several times to make sure that we were happy with the food and the appetizer which was garlic cheese bread. We did not try dessert here, but they have Italian favorites. I wish I had taken photos as this will be a place we will come to again.

What an incredible experience! Tonight me and my husband were craving Italian and of course we chose Roma Italian Restaurant. As always the eggplant and chicken parm were excellent. Tonight we had to try the Alfredo pizza and of course that did not disappoint.The ambiance is always warm and welcoming. Today I chose pickup order and as soon as I arrived, they greeted me at the door. Not only did they throw in a free dessert but they also helped me carry my food to my car without even being asked to do so. Warm service and true Italian comfort Dino makes sure everyone is noticed and taken care of—he runs the dining room with genuine warmth and attention to detail. The atmosphere feels upscale yet it's not. Comfortable, yes, with nice touches like cloth napkins and fresh basil that set the tone right away. I started with the antipasto, followed by a Margherita pizza that was perfectly crisp and full of flavor, and finished with a classic tiramisu that was light, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. Authentic mama mia italian food DINO was so friendly and welcoming. Wine from Chile was amazing. We had garlic cheese bread, veal and chicken parmigiana. Delicious like my italian mama would have made. Had leftovers for breakfast. Just visiting so plan on going back a few times before heading home. Oh yes and took lemon marscapone cake to go. Delicious! Ok so had to come back again. This time margarita pizza and toetellini alla panna. Pizza was great, crunchy crust and nice amount of garlic. Will make a great leftover breakfast. Hubby enjoyed his pasta and had sone more of the red merlot wine. Frantera merlit. Caesar salad too but the dressing was best part but i am not a lettuxe fan

When you enter a business, some will say welcome or something once, but often I think do they mean that or just saying because made to do so. Not the case here. The owner was truly thankful I and others came. He was delightful and thanked me at least three times while I was there. The food is flavor and plentiful. My chicken piccata hand lots of chicken and just the right amount of noodles. Some Italian places have more noodles than meat but not here. The flavor was just the right amount of lemon, butter, white wine, and my favorite part is the capers. The bread was fresh and soft. If I had any dislike, it would be that a side salad does not come with the entree. Otherwise, it is a quaint, peaceful, and authentic.

Very cozy and comfortable. We were immediately greeted when we walked in. We could barely hear or see the people in the next booth. They played good music on low volume. Our server was very sweet and took good care of us without bothering us too much. The food was so delicious. I love Italian food but theirs was not what you expect from such a small building. Everything tasted fresh. We felt full after our meal but not overstuffed or bloated. My husband's had manicotti, I had seafood Alfredo, and we shared fried ravioli and stuffed mushrooms. I attached a picture of the mushrooms. Everything was cooked just right. Pastas were al dente, not over or undercooked. The sauces were well balanced, not greasy or too sweet. We really enjoyed our dinner.

Really good honest folks! Food was good, came out quickly. Salad was delicious and had romaine, tomatoes and pepperchini with your selection of dressing. I loved theball parmesan. Tasted so very good! Tortalini alfredo with chicken was cooked to perfection. Not soggy and the filling was not falling out. No extra water on plates as I have had in other Italian restaurants before. Family has much pride in theestablishment. Wait staff was smiling and friendly. Pizza was great! Tasted oven roasted. Fresh ingredients were found to be in every bite. We will definately go back next time we are in town.

The rolls were stale and the salad had decomposing lettuce. The appetiser sampler was average at best. The one plus was that the tortellini Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. Best part of the meal.

Had high hopes for this place. Very Disappointing. Staff was Friendly and Prompt. The food was edible, but i think this is the Only "Italian" place that doesnt believe in Garlic. And it was the First time ive Ever seen Brushetta with... Cheese melted on top, onions, and black olives. (Thats NOT Brushetta!) When they brought the salad, we actually Laughed at the sad lil thing. We will Not return.

Not sure how they have received so many good reviews. Atmosphere was like an old Dairy Queen with very cheap paintings on the wall. There was no owner that came to our table to check on us like all these other reviews mentioned. We had a waitress that talked like she was from south Dallas but clearly was from Athens….she also started trouble with another waitress and was a little loud about it right in front of the customers. All 3 of us did not like our dinner at all….food was very bland and not much better than a Tv dinner from the grocery store. Portions were big though and the bread was good. I’m not trying to be mean but all these reviews say how good the food was but they must have never eaten at other Italian restaurants……I truly feel like I just threw $100 out the window to never be seen again. We will for sure not be back.

Pros: My husband liked the chicken parmesan. The waitress was attentive and welcoming. Cons: Meatballs were undercooked (pink inside) I brought it to their attention, and they reheated in the microwave. I know because I heard the microwave timer 🤣 didn't really matter much because they were tasteless, no salt or flavor. Terrible! It was like eating a carton. Casa De Mare was missing the salmon and also was lacking flavor. No wonder why it was almost empty. Only one other table beside us. Needless to say I do not recommend this restaurant.

Against my better judgment, I allowed my husband to convince me to go to an Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere East Texas. Being famished and with the preference of the finer things, we went in. Strike one was the fact that no one was in the facility at dinner time save for one couple in a lonely corner booth. I had a few questions to get a feeler for what we were getting ourselves into and sure enough, my fears were confirmed.... this food was about to be mid as L. I opted to make the experience better by ordering a glass of wine.... they didn't have what I requested from the menu, ok, no worries! I understand. Went through a couple more hoops to find something they did have, no prob. As we look over our food options we find that garlic bread is on the menu. Oh, ok, so no free bread. Fine, we're at the end of 2025, can't expect to see many things for free anymore. Strange to see in an Italian place though....kind of like no chips and salsa in a Mexican restaurant, but fine. We order the bread and spinach and artichoke dip to find a pink sauce with 4 flecks of artichoke and spinach each. The bred no DOUBT was from a package of dollar general sandwich rolls toasted. Whatever, we're hungry and we're already here, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't really that good either. We're ready to order our main dishes and we decided to add 2 ceaser salads but request to add red onions. Our waitress confirms they do have red onions and can add them to the salad. Sweet! We get our salads and they come undressed with this tiiiny ramekin of dressing (I'm talking the same size as the paper cups you use to put ketchup in at like Wendy's) and are LOADED with red onions. No big deal, we'll just take the extra ones off. When our waitress comes back we request another little ramekin of dressing and i kid you not, she tells us she'd have to charge us $6. We sit there STUNNED as she explains that she can't sell us the same sized dressings she gave us but would have to charge us for a bowl of dressing....... ?! The waitress was pretty young, so we're not mad at her at all, but things were starting to get a bit ridiculous. We turned her down and continued to eat our dry salads. Our entrees finally come and I hate that the photos give the dishes more flavor than they deserve credit for. My husband's chicken resembled something that would come out of an astronaut's food selection in outer space and the slices of sausage in my fettuccine were so thin I feared they'd gut me on the way down...the food was very bland, I don't know when the last time was that I actually had to use the table salt, but we threw that, the parm, and hot pepper flakes at it to make it somewhat edible. By this point I'm ready to go,I took about 3 bites and by the waitresses surprise asked for the check. Low and behold there's a MASSIVE extra charge, what on earth could it be??? The onions y'all......$6. I'll be darned..... they REALLY wanted that extra $6 out of us.... I'm peeved because we're civilized folk, so we couldn't not leave a tip, the waitress did her job- and well....so the only way I can feel justice is leaving this review. I wouldn't waste my time or extra $6 coming back here.....but I really should have known.
