I went with a group of friends. We ordered the pork egg rolls, Peking duck, vegetable lo mein, and mapo tofu. Everything was incredible and delicious. The Peking duck was the best I’ve had in Austin by far. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. Service was quick and friendly. As others have mentioned, get there close to opening or soon after, or expect a wait. We got there right at opening and were immediately seated. I will definitely be back.

Best of Austin. Authentic Chinese food that shines just right and doesn't leave you with food coma afterwards. They must cook their food with Chinese mama energy, you can tell it's made with love. Staff is always so sweet, understanding, and efficient. Try the cold spicy chicken appetizer, and the beef cabbage stew (Maoxuewang), cumin beef. All the veggies taste fresh. Zero complaints after 10+ visits. Great leftovers for the next day and a great alternative to catering for a small party.

Oh my gosh. I've had Chinese food all over the world, including China. NOTHING compares so favorably as Bamboo House. We were recommended to try it out and now I recommend it to anybody reading this if you like top-level Chinese food without paying crazy prices. I've paid far more in the past for much less quality and food. Highly recommend the Peking duck and the Salt and Pepper Lobster, and LoMein. And the Honey Walnut Shrimp.

Delicious food and generous portions! My favorite dish was the honey walnut shrimp, but everything was great! Our server also helped us pack up our large amounts of leftovers which was very appreciated!

Every dish I've tried here has been exceptional, but two standouts for me are the Mapo Tofu and the roasted duck. The Mapo Tofu is one of the best I've had -- silky tofu in a rich, spicy sauce with just the right amount of heat and depth. It's perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying over a bowl of steamed rice. The duck dish is equally impressive -- tender, juicy meat with crispy skin and a beautifully seasoned glaze. Service is consistently friendly and efficient. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making it an excellent value.

Ordered the Peking duck and honey walnut shrimp. I had never tried Peking duck before and this did not disappoint! And that was one of the better honey walnut shrimps I’ve had. I think the way they serve the rice helps so it doesn’t dry out on your plate, it really made a difference.

Quality lobster! The thin pancakes with the Peking duck were really good. My husband liked the Maoxuewang (duck blood, tripe, and other organs in spicy Sichuan sauce). The beef tongue stir-fry was tasty with rice too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Nice place for a family get-together.

The restaurant lives up to its name with the best peking duck in ATX! The skin was lightly crispy & the meat tasted very fresh. My mom was also impressed. Highly recommend the duck!! We also ordered salt & pepper lobster, but it was okay. I barely tasted any salt & pepper flavoring.

We came for a Sunday lunch based on a recommendation and had about a 40-45 minute wait. Inside waiting is limited, but there are seats outside. The inside waiting area has some old-style arcades. Once we got a table, we ordered the Beef Lo Mein, Steamed Braised Pork Belly Slices w/ Bamboo Shoots, and Vegetable Shrimp. I really wanted to try the roast duck, but it was quite expensive. The food we ordered was still very good and glad we tried it. Dishes are large.

I think this might be the best place for Peking duck in the Austin area. Their salt & pepper lobster was a hit with us too. Please note that their portions are on the larger side, so keep that in mind when you place your orders. The place is almost always packed on weekends, so I would recommend making online take out order in advance if you don’t want to wait.

Bamboo House Austin is one of my favorite places to go to. When they first opened this location and advertised the Peking duck I about jumped out of my shoes. Starting off we ordered the appetizer cream cheese wontons. The wontons were so crispy and so large. It looks like they utilize the egg roll wrappers. Stuffed very much full and the sweet and sour sauce was delicious. The specialty here is the Peking duck and we get a half order to share between us. You cannot get a full order unless you have three or more people. You're giving an array of different sauces, sugar, different greens and the whole setup is just a beautiful presentation. There will be a long wait because this place is so popular and the peaking duck can run out. So if you're worried about that, give a call later in the day more often it's going to be possibly sold out. I definitely recommend stopping by and giving this place a try

The duck is authentic, must try! It’s sold out pretty fast in weekends. Need to get there before 5 to avoid the long line. Other dishes are great too, very large portions. The mouth watering chicken is so tender and juicy!

Bamboo House Austin is undeniably the best Chinese restaurant in town! The Peking duck, while it took about an hour to prepare, was well worth the wait—absolutely delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp were freshly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and delightfully crunchy—one of our favorites. The braised pork with tea mushrooms was another highlight, with pork that practically melted in your mouth. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly—and the restaurant itself is spacious, with multiple tables and ample parking. That said, I recommend arriving early as it can get packed. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

It is probably one of the top three Chinese restaurants in Austin. The food is authentic and the portion is generous. We ordered the famous Peking duck, braised pork, stir fry onion beef and vegetables and tofu. The duck was fantastic with crispy skin and tender meat. The seasoning of the braised pork was on point but the meat was unfortunately dry. The stir fry onion beef’s flavor was great, but I couldn’t really taste the onion. Overall, I highly recommend this place to any Chinese food lovers!

The waiting line is building up before their opening hours at 11am, a little challenging to park the car as the lots is limited around the restaurant. Ambience is nice, server is prompt, friendly and polite. The food is good, not too salty. Peking duck is acceptable but definitely not the best. Drunken Chicken is average due to the texture of the chicken skin. Boiled fish fillet in spicy sauce, Spicy and crispy chicken, eggplant and pea sprout veggies is good. I would say my favorite is the Braised pork belly slices on top of preserved vegetable. Duck soup served is complimentary.

Get here early on weekends, place fills up quickly and u can still park in the garage with a 2 hr limit. Wait staff will ask if u want the Peking duck once u are seated. Say yes. They bring out a huge bowl of duck soup almost immediately and then they bring out the duck. Delicious crispy skin and tasty duck with all the typical sides. Well done presentation too. Prices are pretty standard but the portions seems much more generous. Our veg dish of pea sprouts for 15$ was standard but portion was huge. So were other dishes that went by to the other tables. Place filled up quickly and almost every table ordered the duck.

Dinner! they specialize in peking duck. it is true. the peking duck is very good. Soup is ok, I took the soup home to add a little more salt and onion. the braised pork is a little overcooked and i had a jaw workout chewing a piece. I would definitely come again and try other stuff anyway peking duck: 9/10 braised pork with tea mushroom: 6.2/10

The duck is among the best in the area. They serve it so well with the pancakes. They provide all the fixings that you would need to create the perfect duck wrap. The skin is also very crispy which adds to the texture of the dish. Highly recommend getting to doc. The other food is also very good, however the duck is the star.

Probably one of the authentic Chinese foods I had in a while in my years here in Austin. Even though I am not a duck aficionado, I did truly enjoy their Peking duck; the skin was crispy, the meat was tender and nicely flavored, the thin pancakes, sauces, shredded green onions and cucumbers were nicely placed in a tray. We also ordered Twice cooked pork, Szechuan Beef, Crispy and Spicy chicken, I personally really liked the chicken; small chunks of lightly battered yet well flavored fried chicken stir fried with dry chilies, it was delicious. Overall, I'm very happy to have found the place and will not hesitate to recommend it to others.

This is my first visit. I was there on a Saturday late afternoon. The restaurant was busy but not packed. I ordered Hot and Sour soup, Vegetable fried rice, Couple’s beef slices and Jalapeno dried tofu with pork stir fry. My fried rice was practically just white rice tossed with a bunch of vegetables. It was completely tasteless. Couple’s Beef slices were just ok. I preferred the same dish at The Breakfast House. The Tofu pork dish had barely any pork. I am not impressed at all with what I ordered. One positive thing is that the portion is huge.

I’ve been a frequent customer of this restaurant and have always enjoyed and supported Bamboo house Austin . Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was very disappointing. My friend and I ordered the garlic pea shoots, and as soon as I took the first bite, I found a long piece of dried yellow grass in the dish (see photo). My friend then found another shorter piece. We let the server know and he kindly offered to replace it with a new one. However, in the second plate, the exact same dried yellow grass appeared again as soon as I started eating. At that point, we were really disappointed. I’ve always liked this place, but this experience was truly discouraging. I hope the restaurant can take this seriously and improve the quality control in the kitchen.
