Dee Dee Thai at the Leona location is highly praised for its authentic and flavorful Thai street food, especially the Pad Kaprow. Customers appreciate the fresh ingredients and beautiful garden setting. Some note limited vegetarian options and parking challenges.

Online pre-order is straightforward and hassle-free. You even get a text message to notify you your order is ready for pickup. Every dish that I have tried is delicious and full of flavor. I really appreciate their paying attention to every detail and making sure every dish is as spicy as it should be!
I’ve never had such Thai food anywhere else.. it’s so fresh, tasty made with good ingredients. I had street noodles and chicken green curry.. street needles was to die for. I’m yet to try the curry I got it as a take out. Great service great food
Absolutely love this place, came by tonight for the first time and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Not too crowded which was nice because we where able to find a good table. The food was amazing we got the Laab, the pad kaprow and the moo ping with a side of the pickled salad and everything blew us away! Food came out fast and hot and everything was packed full of flavor, we loved it all but the laab was definitely the star of the show! Counter service employee was friendly and helpful and the Chef who handed us our food was really friendly and helped describe some of the dishes to my parents who haven't had Thai food before! We will 100% be regulars here, keep up the good work!
My husband and I went to Leona last night and ordered dinner from Dee Dee. We shared the dumplings, fried chicken, and the green curry. Comforting heat and deep flavors all around. Authentic and fantastic! 🧡
Tucked in the back of a beautiful little garden type area. The Pad KaPow and Papaya Salad were both great. I messed up my online order pickup time, and they were accommodating enough to make it for me on the spot. As someone whos had traditional Thai and loves spicy food, I actually anticipated the KaPow to be spicier, but to the average person it probably is pretty spicy.
The Pad GaPow is hearty, spicy, and a generous portion. The menu is limited, but still has a decent variety. Great atmosphere in the Leona botanical courtyard, which also hosts the Leona Cafe and Bar, Veracruz tacos, and supposedly there's a burger place on the way. There's only outdoor seating at DeeDee, though it looks like you can take your food into the indoor seating at Leona.
So glad to see Dee Dee go larger scale. Really great food and service. Miss the heat from the trailer. Thinking they might’ve folded to the “too spicy” comments from past reviews, but the food is fantastic and Morgan is a super chill server that takes the long lines in stride. Highly recommended
Visited their new location at Leona and ordered the Pad Kapow. Omg so delicious, tasted homemade and was just what I needed. Excited to see if they bring back mango sticky rice!
We finally tried Dee Dee's and was wondering what took us so long. The food was exceptional and tasty. I had the Om Gai (rustic herbal chicken soup), which was so delicious, and my husband had their famous Pad Kaprow, which was also amazing. We were out of luck for their mango sticky rice but now we will definitely wait for that. We had approximately a 30 minute wait after ordering online but it's fully worth the wait.
Dee Dee has some unique Thai food. The style is definitely different than most Thai places as I thought the flavors were less on the sweet side. I got their red curry and the mango sticky rice which I definitely recommend. The only downside of Dee Dee is that their wait times can be long and their hours are kind of strange.
Dee-Dee is a great place for Thai street food in Austin. They use fresh ingredients straight from the farm, which makes their food even more delicious. We tried their Pad Kapow and loved it. The rice was full of flavors, and the spicy stir-fried pork went perfectly with it, along with the fried basil. Just be prepared to wait a while; we waited around 45 minutes for our dish.
Wow! I heard this place from YouTube and they are definitely worth the hype. Every dish looked so simple, yet so good. This is really some authentic Thai food you won’t be able to find elsewhere. You can taste the love and passion they put in everything! The wait can get a little long, so I recommend to pre-order pick up online. Super recommended!
Confirmed the authentic taste, this food are amazing and so favored. This time we need to order online and then pick them up, they kept the food in the fridge and keep it warm for us even we pick up late, the food still great! Definitely recommend this place for real Northeastern Thai food! And I do believe they gave us more than we order, pork and those soft sticky rice, thank you guys we will definitely go back next time we are in Austin 🙏 ขอบคุณค่ะ
The food is great, a little bit on the higher price range, but the service was friendly and welcoming. However, we ordered this rice dish had barely rice in it, so we had to pay $5 for a side rice. Wish they could change the racial balance:) over all good experience and good food!
Dee Dee’s new location is on Brodie at Leona Cafe, it’s a stunning setting! They are now open for lunch and dinner. We ordered online ahead of arriving in case there was a wait but it ended up not taking very long fortunately. The parking at leona is pretty limited so I would come during an off hour. The food is good. I enjoyed the pad kaprow and the fried chicken as well as the dessert. They do have more of a limited menu during lunch hours, so I will need to come back during dinner to try more of their items.
Needs more vegetarian items. Only one tofu stir fry and no vegetarian curries. The other dee dee food truck had a lot more options very limited menu here. I ended up not eating here. Parking is very difficult too. I hope they add some more options soon because I like dee dee allot! The star rating is not indicative of the food or quality, just menu choices.
It’s mid. Dee Dee food used to taste authentic, I don’t know that this is true anymore. The chicken was incredibly fatty, the papaya salad was simply not what it was. Parking is nearly impossible until the hype chills out.
I’ve loved DEE DEE for years- red curry used to be one of my absolute favorites in Austin. I’d been looking forward to their reopening at Leona, so I stopped by today with high hopes. They’ve changed up the menu, and the red curry has been replaced with green curry. I figured the change might’ve been because green curry is generally much quicker and easier to prep, but I was still excited to try it given how good their red curry used to be. Unfortunately, the green curry was a huge disappointment. It was extremely watered down, lacked any depth or flavor, and honestly was the least impressive green curry I’ve had in Austin. The woman taking orders also seemed irritated and gave a bit of attitude, which made the experience even less pleasant (it was busy, so I’m sure she was exhausted but the attitude was unnecessary. If you’re gonna work in a role that requires you to face and interact customers, consider maintaining a basic level of courtesy. The pork skewers were seasoned well, but the sauce that came with them tasted surprisingly bland. I was genuinely excited about DeeDee’s expansion, but the quality has gone down significantly. I won’t be frequenting for their food as much as I thought I would.
First time here after looking for recommendations on Yelp, well I made it to the food truck and the Man there was a little unwelcoming expo to me the situation about the place to be in the process of closing the end of this month and probably overwhelmed with all of the large orders that people were waiting this afternoon. I was excited to try their food but sadly there was only one item available and it was the pad Kapow, after 2 hours my meal was ready, my only item was very well presented and packed, here is the reason why the 3 stars, Probably is not my type of dish but I had pad Thai food in the past and today my well presented dish Was not extremely but Salted minced meat over a large amount of Rice with some salted small side of sauce. If only I had known what I would receive, I wouldn’t have returned for my order. I’m understand that I haven’t tried the rest of their food but one dish I think is enough to know what else to expect.
Portions are ridiculously tiny. The rib main course consists of 3 ribs, mostly bone. Maybe 1.5 Oz of meat. They give you a decent amount of rice, so I guess thats the filler. We also got some bbq chicken main and it was equally tiny. Tsk tsk.
I got the Pad Kaprow and Thai tea from the coffee shop on site. Pad Kaprow was not very flavorful and the level 1 spice wasn't as intense as described on their website. The Thai tea was delicious. Also got the mango sticky rice and it was a good portion. Online order only and they recommend ordering 2 hours early. This makes it hard to time. Our food was ready earlier than predicted and was starting to cool down when we arrived. There's outdoor seating with limited heated areas.
