March 2026 First time visiting Jack Allen's at this location. I was not disappointed and will return when I'm in the area. We arrived around 4 pm, and parking was ample in this time frame. Just know when we were leaving around 6:30 pm, parking was difficult to find. We entered through the main entrance, which was the two double doors in the picture. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and the group opted to sit out on the patio, which is which is covered. Once seated, we were quickly approached by our server, Greg. Our server took our drink orders, and provided and overview of the specials. Our drinks arrived, and we ordered. Each group split the entrée. One was the chicken sandwich with sweet potato french fries, the other being shrimp with pasta (from the specials). Both entrées were tasty and just enough. We leftbroom for dessert and ordered the strawberry & blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Overall, and good visit, good service and good food. I hope that if you decide to visit that your experiences is good or better than mine.
First time at Jack's. We were impressed. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.
Their signature burger was amazing. Fries were awesome. They kept my iced tea filled the whole time. I would go to this place all the time if I lived locally.
I went to Jack Allen's for my birthday dinner our server Was Skylar, she was fantastic very attentive and had great suggestions as far as the menu items. There is a signed birthday card on the table from the staff when I got there, The food was quick to come out of the kitchen and delicious. We got the fried green tomatoes, a sample of the pimento cheese, which was delicious and the fried pork chop and fried New York strip, the pork chop was the star of the show! For my birthday I got one free dessert, but we couldn't decide between the two that were offered so decided to buy one. Also they were both absolutely delicious and decadent. It's hard to say which one was better. One was a Blondie style brownie cake and the other was a chocolate torch or flourless chocolate cake. Service was on point without being overbearing. The food was super tasty. All in all Jack Allen was the perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Alyssa served us this evening and she was lovely. This place always has the best service and great food. I’m a regular Killer Cheeseburger orderer but my family loves to try the variety of food they have here. Even when it’s busy, they make sure you are taken care of. Be never had a bad experience here. Thank you for the 5 star service consistency.
I’ve been coming to Jack Allen’s for over a decade and it continues to be one of my favorite places, and one of my go-tos when I come back to visit ever since moving away from Austin. I’ve always had a special experience, but after all of these years, I haven’t been inspired to write a review until yesterday’s dinner when our server, Tasha, provided SUCH EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE I WILL NEVER FORGET!!! in short, I always ordered the Gorgonzola tomato pesto ravioli as my main (literally since high school), it’s nostalgic for me and tastes like home, but I guess recently JA removed it from their menu (so sad!!!) but I understand menus over time change. Last night was my first time discovering this and I was DEVASTATED. Not only was Tasha so lovely, attentive, and hilarious, but she also managed to convince the chef to MAKE THE RAVIOLI SO I COULD HAVE IT (likely for the last time). I literally almost cried- this was so special and thoughtful from both her AND THE CHEF that evening, I can’t thank them enough!!!! Jack Allen’s continues to provide exceptional dining experience and their staff continues to go above and beyond!!! Thank you Tasha and chef 🥹❤️
Hands down one of the best restaurants. Killer burger is amazing every time, sweet potato and regular fries make me okay with getting type 2 diabetes I could eat for hours. Appetizers and desserts are fantastic, I just wish I could come here more often but working 2 jobs Austin isn't cheap and I can't be spending more than is necessary to just get by.
Jack Allen’s Kitchen has been a go-to spot for me since 2010, and its consistency over the years is what keeps me coming back. Whether you’re grabbing a quick brunch or settling in for a laid-back dinner, this place never misses. The margaritas are strong, fresh, and perfectly balanced—one of the best you’ll find in town. And if you’re more of a brunch fan, their Bloody Marys are just as impressive—loaded, flavorful, and exactly what a weekend calls for. The menu is packed with delicious options that showcase bold Texas flavors with a Southern twist. The breakfast sandwiches are always on point, especially when paired with their fluffy biscuits or house-made migas—comfort food done right. Above all, what sets Jack Allen’s apart is their consistency. The food is always fresh, the service is warm and attentive, and you can count on a satisfying experience every single time. After more than a decade, they’re still delivering like they did on day one. Highly recommend.
Great Service and food as usual. We had a large party of 9 on 4/14 celebrating my daughter's 19th birthday. Making a reservation for that evening was easy and they had the table ready for us when we arrived. Our server was great. He was a very polite and attentive young man (I wish I remembered his name) and it was a perfect night. We especially loved that he brought out the dessert with a candle, that was such a special touch!
Jack Allen’s Kitchen Oak Hill turned our family get-together into a memorable feast. The place is undeniably noisy, but the exceptional food, drinks, and service more than make up for it. Our waitress, Barbara, was a gem—patient, gracious, and attentive, especially with our elderly mother, who struggled to order over the noise. Barbara handled it with warmth and care, making us all feel welcome. The meal kicked off with their complimentary pimento cheese spread, a creamy, tangy starter that’s a clever hook—it always tempts us to order an appetizer. It worked again this time, and we dove into the jalapeño crab dip, which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The crunchy catfish was another hit, setting the stage for the entrees. The Grilled Ruby Trout was fresh and perfectly cooked, the chorizo-stuffed pork tenderloin brought bold, savory depth, and the Baja-style fish tacos were a light, zesty delight. The steak taco and fundido skillet rounded out the lineup, earning praise from everyone for their quality and taste. The cocktails were a highlight—Mexican Martinis, house margaritas, and more, all mixed to perfection and refreshing alongside the hearty dishes. Despite the lively (and loud) atmosphere, the vibe is warm and inviting, perfect for a family gathering. Jack Allen’s shines with its focus on fresh, local flavors and top-notch service. If you can handle the noise, it’s a fantastic spot for a meal that leaves everyone satisfied. Barbara and the team made it a night to remember!
Came here for dinner last night as we were in town for the last weekend of Spring Break. We sat on the patio and it was perfect. Nice breeze and a beautiful sunset. Our server was Greg L and he was TOP NOTCH! Greg had such a great personality and all four of our orders came out perfect. The only complaint I have is the parking lot is very small and tight for us with big Texas trucks. Other than that, we all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back next time we are in town.
January 2024: We had lunch at Jack Allen’s Kitchen on a Wednesday and the place was still busy, but not as bad as on Fridays. Usually has complimentary valet parking but not on this day. Highway construction on SH 71 is starting to creep near this place and the turning lane has been removed where have to be careful crossing lanes to either get here or leave. Our server was very nice and scanned over the menu where have dined here so many times pretty much tried all the listings. I decided to choose the 5 Cheese Macaroni and Chicken. This place still has great atmosphere and it was a bit chilly where the outdoor patio was closed off. I always recommend any one of the Jack Allen’s Kitchen locations to friends and out-of-town visitors. My entrée arrived and looked very presentable. The chicken was grilled and cut up in big pieces and tasted very good. The cheese macaroni was excellent as before and had great flavor. I am not sure what the five cheeses are but they all complemented each other very well. Beside the great food here the cocktails are also above the competition where I enjoyed a Tito’s Sage & Grapefruit Splash. My drink was very tasty and they do have a great bar atmosphere inside and in the patio. April 2023: Jack Allen’s Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants for not only tasty food but delicious mixed cocktails and great atmosphere. The Oak Hill location is not far from my home but like today always get there when they open at 11:00 AM where is quickly gets busy. Luckily complementary valet parking is provided if you can’t find a spot. I decided to enjoy lunch at the bar inside however they have another bar in the covered outdoor patio. I ordered a Tito’s Sage & Grapefruit Splash while looking over the menu. My drink was fantastic. I decided on the 5 Cheese Macaroni and Chicken describes as twisted elbow macaroni and achiote chicken. The staff and even those seated at the bar were all nice and friendly. I liked it while waiting for my food to be prepared. Soon my macaroni was placed in front of me and looked and smelled delicious. I was very hot and after one bite I was in heaven. All the cheeses blend well together and the chicken had great flavor. It was a great choice. Overall another great experience at Jack Allen’s Kitchen in Oak Hill.
The steak-fried chicken, a signature dish, embodies the perfect marriage of crispy, golden-brown perfection and succulent, well-seasoned meat. Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes that leaves patrons raving. The desserts on offer are nothing short of spectacular – from indulgent chocolate delights to light and refreshing fruit-based options, there's something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The drinks menu is equally impressive, featuring a curated selection that complements the hearty flavors of the main courses. From craft cocktails to a wine list, the beverage offerings add an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. With its warm ambiance, stellar steak-fried chicken, delectable desserts, and fantastic drink options, this Austin gem captures the essence of Southern hospitality and culinary excellence.
Great environment and service. We started with Mexican Martini's. L ordered Green Chili Burger and I ordered Chicken Fried Porkchop.

One of the most popular restaurants/ bars with a great patio in all of South West Austin... Great food, drinks, & beers.... A very creative menu.
The service is always good. The food is fantastic. The ambiance is warm and friendly. Always a good rome here. One of my personal favorites.
Excellent food with great atmosphere and friendly staff. This restaurant in their bathrooms are very clean. Great place to take a date, business meal for the family.
Great service from Brooke - went with friends and each couple split a salad & entree. They even brought extra plates. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Great shrimp and wedge salad. They gave us complimentary tastes of their homemade pimento cheese - it was good. Frozen margaritas were strong.
Came for brunch and ordered the pancakes stack. Food wasn't as good as I expected. Serving size was pretty large. Service was great. Reservations should be made for brunch on a weekend. One thing is that the bathroom lines were very long even though there wasn't alot of tables filled up when we arrived for brunch at 11am. Overall, I'll consider coming back again.
Good restaurant with a bit slow service during peak hours. Usually has a wait on weekends upwards of 30 mins. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Host was nice to add us to the line and specified that we had about half an hour wait. 4 people were at the host counter and still seemed a bit mismanaged. Checked back in 15 mins to see if they had updates and they seated us at the table right away. Service was fast and dishes were tasty but had another 20 mins after finishing our meal to get the check. Good quality and portions. Overall a decent brunch place but might wanna avoid during busy hours. They don’t have Sunday brunch buffet any more.

Welcoming bar/restaurant with a busy and lively atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor patio area. Excellent menu with lots of options and in particular lots of healthy veggies along with the fried food …
We went for a Valentine’s Day lunch with our family. The service was great. We have been coming here for over three years. The service has always been great but this time the food was disappointing. Our food was cold, and my rice was undercooked And crunchy. I think the atmosphere is great if you are looking for a good drink but I am a little disappointed in the food quality this time
I didn't like the food. I ordered "slow braised beef enchiladas". The lentils was extremely salty. The baked potato was extremely salty. French fries seems like consisted of salt also. The rest of the dish was just fat with oil and tiny quantity of meat. I didn't get it. The burger had sweet (wth?!) bun. And zero sauces inside. Everything was edible but definitely not enjoyable.
Queso and guac were standard. Fried green tomatoes were fried to a point at which the tomato disappeared. Horseradish crusted salmon was recommended medium rare- order rare to medium rare- served well done. It was said to come with seasoned veggies (spinach mix). There was no sign of green vegetables on the plate, only onions, peppers and overcooked mushrooms. I requested a salad instead and it was served 30 minutes later after everyone was finished eating, dressed with ranch instead of on the side. Our server said that many people were having issues despite it not being a busy night for them. I understand we had a large table but this was pretty disappointing compared to my last meal at Jack Allen’s.
The waitstaff was very helpful and attentive. We called in advance to ask whether dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio seating, and we were told yes they were allowed. When we arrived and were seated we were approached by the manager and told that only service animals are allowed. Had we been told this when we called in advance we would not have been in the uncomfortable situation we found ourselves. I wasn't fond of the food. It had very little flavor and was very mushy. I'm not sure if this dish is known to be that way. I was told this is something that was a specialty of the house. I cannot recall the name, but was told it was something popular in Austin.
Went to pickup food for ubereats. Food was not ready and I had to wait 5-10 minutes. As I waited I got to listen to a male manager wearing white and a female worker go back and forth about why it…
