Best Pho!!!! We order from here anytime we want a comfort meal. The broth is amazing! It's healing for sure!
I've frequented this place for around 7 years now, and they continue to remain my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The food comes out very quickly (barely any wait most of the time) and is always amazing and hot. It's always very quiet and calm, so it's perfect for a little get-away. Love!
Always amazing. The char broiled pork spring rolls, char broiled rice dish, egg rolls and steak pho are all time favorites. We've been coming here for at least 15 years and it's always been top notch.
I've been to this restaurant before, but this was my first time getting something other than pho for my entree! I decided to try 42A - the charbroiled pork with fried egg roll and vermicelli and the durian smoothie (had it before and enjoyed it!) The vermicelli bowl was fantastic, though I wish there was some kind of sauce for the noodles (ended up using the egg roll sauce to give it more flavor, but I could have also used the (hoisin?) sauce at the table if I had remembered! The egg roll and sauce it came with were perfect - egg roll was nice and crispy and the sauce complimented it perfectly. I think I'll have to order more egg rolls next time, because I could definitely eat more of those! The pork was also cooked well and had a lot of flavor, I just wish there was a little more of it. The durian smoothie was sweet and creamy like I remembered! It really hit the spot, but am curious to try their jackfruit smoothie next time. Can't wait to go back!
Food hit the spot! We ordered the rice plate and vermicelli bowl, and it was delicious. They also gave us each a small bowl of soup as well, which I wasn't expecting. We did have an issue with one of our orders coming out wrong, but they quickly were able to resolve it with no problems. The workers were kind, and the style of the seating area felt very clean and spacious.
Best pho in Austin. I drive all the way from Riverside for this pho… great portioning, not overpriced, great tasting food near domain and across Chinatown. Staff is kind, food is hot, and served quickly. I recommend the egg rolls, chicken & shrimp spring rolls, and the #25 pho (chicken, shrimp, pork) with skinny noodles.
This is one or our favorite Vietnamese spots. I like it because they have a solid bún thịt nướng like no other place I've been to in America. Their phở is also great every time. We like to get their spring rolls and I feel like their peanut sauce is better than restaurants close by. The avocado smoothies here seem a little off to me, though. The workers and waiters here are very nice.
Went to Pho Dan last week for my first time. As a frame of reference I’ve probably had pho around 50 times. I’ve never had average or less than average pho. It ALL tastes great. However, I must say I really enjoyed the broth used at Pho Dan. I ended up getting the # 17, which was a combination of various beef meats. The marbled brisket pretty much tasted like Texas brisket and was so very good. I was definitely very impressed with the pho here! As a side note, this might be the largest pho restaurant I’ve ever been to. It was quite spacious as you will see in my pictures. After me and my friends ordered we were brought our pho quickly. I returned for a second time and got a bowl of pho with just the marbled brisket and I loved it. I also ordered a small side of the chargrilled pork and it was quite tasty.
First time me and my sister came here and I got the Bun Bo hue with shrimp spring rolls she got Beef pho and eggrolls. Spring rolls was on point and love their peanut sauce. My sister loved her eggrolls also with the sweet fish sauce and her pho was good also. I took a star off because the Bun Bo hue was good but a bit bland there was no spice and I had to had a lot of chili oil and siracha to get some spice to it. I just couldn't taste the lemon grass either. Maybe it was a fresh pot and needed to sit. You do get the pork blood in it but no pork knuckle so it was missing the fattyness in the soup maybe that's why it was a bit bland. Girl at the front desk was really nice and place is real clean and I really loved their fried egg rolls too it tasted like it had a certain potato in it and it catches you off guard but with that sweet fish sauce it was on point and yummy!! I may try other stuff when I drive up to Austin again.
I would normally get full with small portion size but their small was not enough. I wish there's better indicator of how much meat difference there are depend on the portion size. But i liked the fact that the small size was affordable. Wonder why there're no customers. I was the only one at that time. Maybe the location is not good.
It wasn't too crowded for a sunday. I got pho chicken and mi thấp cam nước (#27) with thin noodles. The service was fast, and the portion was big. There was a bit more liquid in my second dish than noodles, but it's okay since it's big. The broth for the chicken pho was nice. The noodle was perfect in it. Overall, the food was good.
Food quality- pho is really good , probably one of the best seasoned broths, I tried their bowl with tofu & vermicelli, I wish the vermicelli was seasoned more, but adding chili sauce & sriracha helped **They do not serve Bahn-mi Sandwiches** Food quantity- value for money, quantity is good. Cleanliness- not good, really the tables are sticky, same as menu, bathroom is literally the worst!
Very blah The good - friendly staff, big clean and efficient environs, and easy parking The bad - the food is very blah. It isn’t bad mind you, just no there there, kothing that makes you want to go back Which is sad, cos this used to be some of the best pho in town…
Do not trust! Grubhub offered and sold food they didn't have, and rather than call and work out a substitution, they just silently issue a partial refund and deliver the incomplete order. Now you have hungry people in your party and other people who can't eat their food because they feel guilty eating when some got nothing. This is worse than sending nothing because you have to watch people stare at their food get cold while you try and find alternatives - DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!
Disappointed and Frustrated Experience I arrived at Pho Dan about 20 minutes before their posted closing time (9:00 PM), only to be told they were already closed. The staff said the kitchen was closed, even though it was clearly before 9. Nowhere on the sign or door does it mention that they stop taking orders early. I drove all the way from South Austin specifically to eat here, and it was really disappointing to be turned away like that. If the kitchen closes 15 minutes before the posted time, that should be made clear on the sign or online. This experience left me feeling sad and frustrated. I hope they update their hours or at least post a notice so others don’t have to go through the same thing.
