This place was amazing and totally celiac safe! I just happened upon it walking around the neighborhood and was so shocked that they have a celiac safe dessert menu ✨🥹💜🫶💞 first time I’ve had cheese cake in YEARS! All was delicious 💞
I highly rate Thai Fresh as one of my go to restaurants whether eating solo or out to eat with friends. It’s a very lovely atmosphere with delicious food and staff happy to help you. I genuinely appreciate the price ranges and their reasons behind it. I feel my expectations are exceeded when it comes to the food quality service and price at Thai fresh. I will continue dining here and highly recommend to others.
A gluten free paradise! I've lived in Austin 13 years and this is the best spot I've ever found for all my favorite dishes and desserts that are GF. The pad Thai is quite possibly the best I've ever eaten. A perfectly crispy Chicken Sandwich keeps me coming back though! The pie and cakes are out of this world mmmm. You've gotta check it out if you're GF!!!
We had lunch and enjoyed our food. The waiter did a great job of assisting us with all of the various foods offered. The ingredients seemed fresh and tasted very good. The resturant is very laid back and is easy to relax and enjoy authentic food.
Thai Fresh is one of my favorite spots for authentic Thai food in Austin. Their coconut soup is absolutely delicious, and the pad thai, curried dishes, and pad see ew are all consistently flavorful and satisfying. A special bonus is their ice cream, which you can also enjoy at their ice cream shop—perfect way to end a meal. On top of that, I had the amazing experience of taking a cooking class with Chef Yam, which was so fun and informative. Fantastic food, great vibes, and a true Austin gem.
Thai Fresh is one of my favorite spots in Austin. Everything is delicious. The baked case is dangerous too — tons of treats and desserts that are worth saving room for. Pickup is easy and dining in is a good vibe for us. We keep coming back.
Amazing food. I’ve been here many times. Best pad Thai and Thai food I’ve had in Austin. Definitely on the expensive side but I took one of the cooking classes and bought the book and have made a couple meals. Probably not as good but quenches the desire to visit again.
Clearly I've been living under a rock because it's my first time here. WHAT?! I know. We came with friends and were seated right by the open kitchen. It was very entertaining to watch the cooks and see each dish come out. It took a while to decide what to get - they have many options. We agreed on the large papaya salad (fresh, spicy, crunchy, sweet and tangy and really really excellent), green curry (broccoli and mushroom - very nice level of spice and sharp yummy taste - veggies were really excellent, too), Tom Kha soup (this tasted more like a curry, a bit thicker than expected, but still very good and well spiced) and drunken noodles (savory, chewy, comforting). I also had a taste of the pineapple fried rice - which was yummy with a fun texture and a little sweet. The Thai Basil ice cream was also unique and very good. We'll definitely come back to try even more things. I appreciate that they pay their staff a living wage - something all restaurants should do.
I love this restaurant and have been coming here for more than a decade. The coconut soup, the fried chicken, and the noodles are delicious. I also love their vegan pastries, coconut milk ice cream, and drinks. One thing, I have social anxiety, and I would love it if you could bring back QR code ordering so I don’t have to stand in line and feel awkward. I love that you pay staff a living wage 💕
We had a great dinner here. Everything was flavorful, fresh and served hot. Good selection of GF food and pastries. The servers were patient with our large group and with the kids’ orders. Service was a little weird over on the pastries side after dinner. All in all, I really liked this place and will be coming back.
my mom is obsessed with Tom Kha and has tried sooo many places in Austin. we went here for the first time for her birthday and she said this has the best Tom Kha in Austin. we got a variety of stuff — fried rice, pad thai, golden chicken & coconut shrimp — also fantastic. i loved my thai fried rice with sirloin. thai iced tea was also great. they also have ice cream & baked goods for dessert! vibe inside is cute & local, don’t expect fancy though. overall def recommend
I discovered this place because my friend eats gluten free. It’s healthy and delicious. I have been coming for years and they have gluten free desserts and awesome coffee drinks and tea.. The pad Thai is good. If you like Pandan sweet flavor. This is one of few places you can enjoy Pandan ice cream. My favorite is the coconut ash flavor. Today I had the dark chocolate sea salt tart. I asked them to warm it up a bit and it was perfect. It has a cozy modern eclectic feel inside. You can bring your laptop and work as well. Oh, I couldn’t help myself and had a bite of the tart before taking a pic.
We meet our adult kids occasionally for dinner in Austin and they get to choose a place since they live there. It has to be in south Austin though so we don't have to drive across Austin. This restaurant was a great choice. The food was delicious and the drinks were also pretty good --especially the Tiger Punch. I had stir-fry with chicken and rice and really liked it. My husband and daughter had drunken noodles and said they were really good. My son had a pork sandwich and raved that it was really tasty. We would go back here in a minute. The service was also very good with the workers patiently answering a lot of questions since we had never been here before. It's kind of small but it offers great food. I think they also had a military discount.
We loved the food at this restaurant. They have a very unique approach to ordering. You order from your table and pay online. Then food is brought out. We had 3 main dishes, soup and salad. Everything was delicious. We usually can tell the quality of restaurant by their Tom Kha soup. This one was delicious. All dishes were fantastic. Our favorite was Jungle Curry. Highly recommended
I ended up here based on a recommendation from a friend, did not disappoint. I ended up ordering something away from my comfort zone, I’d usually go for a pad Thai or pad see ew, but I went ahead and ordered the red curry and the coconut soup. Very delicious, good portion. The soup I was not such a big fan of, wouldn’t get it again. Will definitely be back to try my favorites at this spot. I definitely love the counter service they’ve got going on, there’s a self-serving station so you can help yourself to sauces and waters. You can either go ahead and order at the counter, or take a seat at one of the tables and order from the sticker they have on the tabletop. Your food will just magically appear after ordering, which is amazing. Very good spot for studying, I would definitely come in and do remote work here, it’s got coffee shop vibes.

Not great... funky... not so clean..... didn't like the style. Prefer Madam Mam in the Galleria and Sap's on West Gate Blvd, nice clean and authentic thai food.

Love this neighborhood spot. The food is great and the ability to order at the counter or on phone is convenient. Enjoyed being able to sit outside. The specialty drinks were great.

Food was okay not the best but I guess. They do charge 15% for FAIR WAGE FEE and yes I was informed once being seated. What was i supposed to do turn around and walk out. I would have but I am limited on time since I went during my lunch. Services was slow for it not being full. But I guess this isn't a place for me double tipping because of 15% added to bill for FAIR WAGE FEE.
Rice balls had great crunch and just enough flavor! Loved the dipping sauce with came with. We also had the coconut shrimp fritters. Delicious! Beware the dipping sauce it comes with, it’s pretty spicy! But we loved it. I had the green curry fried rice. I added chicken and a scrambled egg to it. It was definitely a good choice and not too much spice. We also tried the spicy basil fried rice and added the pork belly. The pork belly was perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. We would have liked it to be a bit more spicy. I’m not sure how I feel about the “order online” structure they have. We needed water, silverware, napkins and even just to tell someone about our food would have been nice. For all of those things, we had to get up and tell someone which takes away from our dine in experience.

Went to this Thai restaurant as a recommendation from a friend and it was a great place to wrap up my Austin trip. I came on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't super busy but the parking lot was still…
Was so excited but ordering takeout was just kinda awkward and not being able according to the cashier have spicy pad thai is also strange to me. I ordered pad kee mao instead and requested extra spicy and I am pretty sure that did not happen, it tasted ok and I love that they use chicken thigh instead of breast but overall could have been more basil and more spice. I also would like the protein prices listed because when I was asked which protein I figured only premium meats would cost extra, my mistake.
Every protein was severely overcooked. No chicken in any dish was even palatable. The sticky rice was basically a hockey puck- worst I've ever had, seriously could have played softball with it. The only saving grace was the flavor of the fried rice. This place seemed to have potential, like a good restaurant where the head cook took a sick day. The service was good and ambiance nice. Just tighten up standards on what leaves the kitchen.
ORIGINAL: I’m very disappointed. I have always loved Thai Fresh but I hadn’t been there in a while until this weekend. We were there for dinner. We ordered two dishes - chicken & rice and a yellow curry (don’t recall the name). Nothing else. No drinks. No appetizers. No desserts. We were charged $65 which, even with 15% built-in gratuity, sounds excessive. The food was okay but definitely not $65 worth. It appears we were overcharged but it didn’t register at the moment since we were so distracted talking. UPDATE: I stopped by today to ask that they verify why we were charged $65. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the credit card with me since my partner paid. He will call to get it addressed. But I want to give a shout out to CARINA who was super sweet and helpful in trying to resolve the issue. Based on my interaction with her and the plate that I ordered and took home (which was excellent), I increased my rating from 2 stars to 3. Once my partner calls to get the overcharges reversed, I'll be back to update and may adjust the star ratings further.

Visited for the first time recently, started great with a golden milk latte and then downhill from there. Somebody that wasn’t my server took my order- egg rolls, cup tom kha, and chicken pad Thai but when I asked if I could have the egg rolls and soup first she said no the kitchen will send it out when it’s ready. Weird because you’re using toast which has a course feature. What do you know, pad Thai comes out followed by egg rolls and soup 30 seconds later. Egg rolls were great, but the soup was a miss with more giant pieces of galangal than chicken. The pad Thai I was told by the person who took my order was sooo good, it was horrible. Tasted like burnt wok and could visibly see excess of oil on the plate. My server finally comes over again, first time since dropping the water off for me, and I ask if this is how it normally is. She said no, and goes to get her manager when I say I don’t want it remade but just taken off the check. Here’s the kicker, manager comes over, I tell her it’s super oily, she proceeds to tell me that that’s how pad Thai is, I told her I’ve had almost all the pad Thais in the city and none are oil like that. She comps it off the bill, but leaves it in a way that I still have to pay the tax and the tip on the pad Thai that I didn’t eat. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had, do yourself a favor and go three minutes down the road to super Thai cuisine.
If you like authentic Thai food, don't come here. The Papaya Salad was lacking texture, Thai basil, fermented dried baby shrimp, and Thai chilies. Instead of smashed cherry tomatoes , it came with pulpy, tasteless, cubed tomatoes. It was heavy on the fish sauce, but missing all of the intricate ingredients Thai food is known for. The Glass Noodles with shrimp were also lacking this layering of flavors. It was one dimensional, and the ever present pulpy tomatoes accompanied this dish as well. Would never order this again. We also ordered 2 tacos: one with fajita meat and another one with shrimp and eggs. And while the tacos were large, they were greasy and lacking any kind of fresh vegetable accompaniment typical with tacos. And they did not come with salsas. If you like large, pricey portions, this is your place. If you like an orchestra of flavors typical of good Thai or Mexican cuisine, then this is not for you...

We came hoping for great Thai food for our date night- we were disappointed.we sat outside the waiter was rude. He did not come to take our order until 15 minutes. He seems to be irritated and made us feel like we are in his way. I had to go several time to ask for utensils. Eventually I just grabbed my own serving spoons and extra bowl. He said that they automatically add TIPS!!15% regardless the service. The owner apparently visits Thailand. Owner might get cool recipes but gets little in the way of the culture. My advice is DO NOT wast your money here. The drunkard noodles were too hard and cold. The atmosphere seems to be cold and unfriendly the servers have no clue about Thai food and culture. They did not seem to care. I felt they showed little respect and honor for Thai culture, heritage. Quality of ingredients seems to be the only good quality.
I don’t know how I a half thai half viet women can feel marginalized in a “thai restaurant” but Thai Fresh has poor customer service, cashiers who feel entitled to properly do their jobs, and an automatic 15% gratuity fee for take out when I was left with food I do not want after an awful experience ordering. They need to really reconsider who they have at the POS because the girl with blonde hair is simply not cut out for most possibly the least skilled job in the world. Do better.
15% mandatory tip for PICK UP orders. Meaning I paid a dozen dollars to drive myself to their facility (because they are too greedy to pay that same 15% to a delivery service or driver), receive no special service, no ecstatic thank you, no sweet little cookie for coming by, just lazy drop of my food on the counter and the sheer greed of these little purple haired individuals (meaning ownership, management, and regular staff alike) that believe my hard earned money belongs in their pocket, rather the mine, because they did…their….job….below satisfactory levels. The best part is I’m a very generous tipper and for simply grabbing my food with a 360 degree, in-place turn, I probably would have thrown ya $5. Literally catch me at a coffee shop tipping $3 for no reason. But when you’re this greedy, disguised as an equitable solution (truly just owners being cheap) it’s such a repulsive result. To find out I’ve been auto tipping (without choice) every time I do a pick up order will now make this the last visit. If you stuck around to read this, it’s solid food, no better than the others, safe yourself the tragedy of supporting an enterprise like this for takeout. DEFINITELY don’t eat inside, very sad atmosphere, same below average service, and an auto tip for that service, I’m sure 😂
