The Omelettry is some of the best service, breakfast/lunch, and atmosphere you can get in Austin!
We came here during a weekend breakfast. The wait time was short. The decor was unique-Dr Seuss themed wall, Aprons hanging by the windows... As for the food: I had the eggs Benedict with black beans. I loved It. Their pancakes were great! Everyone else's food was great too. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed their coffee.
Stopped here on our way back to San Antonio. Our girls age 1 and 3 were h-angery, and being a bit impatient. I was soo happy that they provided toys for the kids along with colors. Didn't need to even take out the tablet! We came at a busy time and we were seated quickly. Food came out fast and it is self pay at the register. So when we were done we made a quick escape once the kids were tired of sitting at the table. DEFINITELY a great family friendly establishment!
First time there. The food was hot and well worth the trip. I had the Popeyes omelet. Very tasty. The customer service was outstanding. Would go back.
The Omelettry is a true Austin classic — the kind of breakfast spot that instantly feels like home. The vibe is warm and unpretentious, with a mix of locals and visitors all here for one thing: great food. Their omelets are fluffy and packed with flavor, and the banana pancakes are some of the best in town — perfectly golden and just the right amount of sweetness. The service is always friendly and relaxed, and even when there’s a wait, it’s worth every minute. You can taste the care that goes into everything, from the fresh coffee to the homemade salsa. A must-visit for anyone who loves hearty, feel-good breakfast in Austin!
This eatery is the quintessential Austin breakfast place. The classic menu is easy - breakfast and not breakfast. Options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks. All the wants for a meal to get your day going, or refuel for more Austin adventures. Either seat-yourself when not busy, or signup on a piece of paper. Once you’re seated, a friendly server will come get you drinks and give you time to acquaint yourself with the menu. After you’ve gotten your drinks and discovered your flavor of the day, you’re told the food will be out soon. In less than 15 minutes, you go from walking in to having hot food. After having every single thing on the menu - breakfast and not - there is nothing bad or middle-of-the-road. Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, nachos, soups, and of course omelettes - every single one is perfection in food form. Coupling your meal with strong coffee, delicious orange juice, and crisp Austin water, you will be full and happy when your plate is clean. Simple payment with cash or card, and bagged coffee next to the register, and you’re off on your day. The tables are covered with colorful and sturdy wrapping, there is space for more or less chairs, wheelchair-accessible in the entire place, and they have multiple kinds of high-chairs for kids. Make a stop here and relish in what Austin really is - a weird and welcoming place for all.
This was a fun and quirky place with a line out the door on a mild Saturday afternoon in February. Plan ahead for the wait time, even past the traditional "peak" times. The wait was well worth it. I was a solo diner, so I gladly sat at the bar. The wall was covered with silly and impressive drawings that incorporated an egg into the main picture, which was fun to look at while I waited. The fresh coffee was absolutely phenomenal - I had more than I could probably handle, and yet I wish I could've paid to take a pot's worth with me. The food reached the very edge of the plate and was a wonderful combination of modern brunch trends and homestyle service. I mean, an eggs Benedict with white queso? Yes PLEASE. If you're ever in the Austin area looking for top quality breakfast and are ready to eat enough for 3 days in a great atmosphere, come to the Omelettry and thank me later.
The Omelettry is a great place! It was easy to get to. Lots of parking. I really liked the retro design of the restaurant. The furniture, what they put up on the walls. It creates a sense of nostalgia.😊 It’s a nice clean place. Now the food. Everyone ordered something different but still breakfast. All the food was great! The prices were reasonable. The wait person was really nice. We will definitely go back!!
Great diner. Friendly folks serving good breakfast foods at reasonable prices. I took my 3 year old and baby, and they accommodated seating the baby’s car seat, which I rested him in until he woke up. Seeing the toddler, they provided a plate of action figures for toys. That was a nifty way to keep him entertained while we waited for food. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and watermelon. Also milk and orange juice drinks. All were very good.
The is a classic breakfast restaurant with a bit of an Austin flair. The interior has this mom-n-pop feel with aprons hanging on the windows for ambiance. The staff are super nice and friendly and got us a table right away. I had the black olive omelette with sourdough toast and my wife had eggs and sausage. Generous portions and it was super delicious! One thing I really liked was the Dr Seuss Green Eggs and Ham mural on the wall. Overall the price is very reasonable and I would definitely come back again.
The Omeletry is on my rotation list for breakfast/brunch (note: they close et 3 pm) Food: I tried different (3 eggs) omelets but my favorite is the Popeyes omelet, stuffed with spinach, bacon and their special blend of cheeses. Topped with sour cream. I always as for their Caliente salsa. It complement this dish perfectly. It comes with a choice of dide dishes. Add to that bottomless coffee and you have a satisfying meal for about $20.00 (plus tip) It's hard to find such filling quality food for that price in Austin these days. The food is always very fresh and hot, and the service is prompt and friendly by a young staff. No wonder this place is always packed. I happily regularly come back every month. Chef Alain Braux
Visiting from Houston, this is our second visit! We were looking forward to coming back! We stopped by for brunch. No wait, we walked in and sat down right away. The food was incredible, and service was very friendly and attentive. I got the house special Omelette, with house fries and black beans. My wife got the Browning (French toast, 2eggs, sausage). Gotta say I’m already looking forward to our next visit! Everything was delicious! PERFECT!
The Omelettry has been an Austin institution for decades, keeping a loyal following with its excellent food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service. I have always loved the omelettes and the pancakes, and I love that they happily serve pancakes as a side for the omelettes! Win/win! The place is crazy busy on weekends, but the good food is there all day every day. Do know that there is awesome coffee and no alcohol.
Delightful place with lots of vegetarian options. It's packed with people as early as 8AM, and that tells you how famous and good this place really is. We tried the spanish and vegetarian omelets, and they were both 5/5. The drip coffee is bottomless, and their fruit bowls are super fresh. They have ample seating adorned by all mannerism of paraphernalia. The place is cozy, the food is fantastic and the service is quick and courteous.
The Omelettry in Austin is a charming breakfast and brunch spot with eclectic decor and a surprisingly short wait, even on busy weekends. I recently visited with my husband while we were visiting from Dallas and we were both impressed with the food and service. Once we placed our order, we only waited about 15 minutes before our food was brought out. I started with a full stack of gluten-free blueberry pancakes and sausage. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and the blueberries were fresh and tart. The sausage was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I loved that I could enjoy a hearty breakfast without having to worry about gluten. My husband ordered one of the cheese omelets that came with a short stack of pancakes and bacon. He said that the omelet was good, but he wished he had added some meat. He also commented that the portion size was a bit small and the cheese tasted like melted processed cheese. Overall, we had a positive experience at The Omelettry. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was eclectic and fun. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable breakfast or brunch. Would I return? Absolutely! Hopefully we will be back in town soon!
This place is so amazing! From the aesthetic, to the food, cleanliness, and the hospitality. I came here with my family to try something new from the moment we walked in I knew we would enjoy the experience. We sat down and looked over the menu and the hostess was even kind enough to let me sample the Horchata (which was amazing by the way perfectly balanced) looked over the menu and ordered. Food came out in a timely manner and the presentation was visually pleasing. While the home fries were a bit big the food was flavorful, and fresh. The service was nice, fast and friendly. Our server was even kind enough to help my indecisive grandmother pick a menu item that she ended up really enjoying. Even the bathrooms were freshly cleaned and smelled good. Overall I would give this place a 9.8 out of 10!
***update 5 year old review*** This diner is as good as the great LA diners. It is a true, American diner, replete with rotating stools at the counter, and a simple, strong, straight-forward menu. The rest of the clean interior is wooden panels and seating in front of plate glass with a street view. Service is excellent and attentive, and answers questions promptly and professionally. Now to the food: if one's favorite cuisine is breakfast - then a definite contender for a last meal. I ordered a spinach omelette, which was expertly cooked in a manner where the spinach was not overheated and soggy, OR to avoid this, shoved in at the last second so they are completely uncooked. The cheese was bountiful and tasty. However, as much as I love the namesake meal, I believe their gingerbread pancakes surpass it. Fluffy, yet substantial, perfectly cooked with a wonderful, fragrant ginger throughout. The pancakes are so good, they can be enjoyed plain, although I enjoy them with some lovely fresh fruit. Speaking of, the orange juice is truly fresh-squeezed. This immaculate meal, the likes of which I live and work to enjoy, was very affordable - particularly considering the ENORMOUS portions. I would esteem this diner as the best in Austin, and therefore one of the best in the world.
Super friendly and thoughtful staff. Lots of free refills! All the food was excellent. coffee very good. Very child friendly. Brought crayons and small toys to table.

Stopped by for breakfast and it was delicious for a down home breakfast. prices are reasonable. It's a smaller restaurant but love that it's not a chain. We'll back for sure.
Fair or unfair, the "new" location will never match the atmosphere of the original on Burnet Road. But the food is still great and the servers take pride in their jobs. My Spanish omelet was cooked to perfection and the home fries are second to none. The coffee is always hot and delicious. Enjoying it all with my daughter and my best friend only enhanced the experience. Keep up the good work, Omelettry!
Omelettry has been serving Austin patrons for decades and is a favorite of the locals for breakfast. They have a variety of egg combo dishes ie eggs + pancakes stacks +sausage or French toast, or just get a fruit plate. I’ve never seen the bottom of my coffee cup here because their friendly staff is very good about refilling.
The atmosphere of this place is definitely a traditional diner. The food was good. I loved the French toast, and the omelets are definitely a good item to pick. I wasn't especially impressed by the drinks, but there were the normal breakfast drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are definitely longer wait times later in the day so I suggest going early. In all, it was a nice place for breakfast.
