Upstairs Circus

My besties took me here for my 40th birthday! They know I love to craft so this was awesome! I had a fun time and there are so many different projects to choose from. I ended up making a wrap bracelet while my friends made a difference bracelet and a necklace. My biggest piece of advice is don't forget to pay for parking because they are strict around their 😂. Lesson learned 😉

We went on a Sunday for their bottomless mimosas while you craft. I made string art and had so much fun with it! The staff is really helpful if you get stuck on any part of the project, and there are so many options to choose from that everyone can find something to do!

We heard about this place from several people and thought it would be fun on our weekend vacation. The crafts were so much fun and we were able to customize a template from what they had available. The beer selection was great and the music selection was perfect.

I can’t believe it’s been almost five years since I moved to Austin, and I never knew about this amazing place! I’m thrilled to have found a spot where you can choose from various projects and spend three hours chatting and enjoying drinks with others. The staff was incredibly nice, which made the experience even better. It was such a fun and memorable time with my husband—I’m so happy we created some unforgettable memories together. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to my friends!

This is such a fun place to get your creative juices flowing! All the items available for creating cost the same, which makes the options even more exciting. All the crafts have step-by-stwp instructions, so you don't have to be crafty to have fun. There is a bar available, so you can get a drink in while you work. The staff is super friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated. I definitely recommend a visit! Bonus: you can make an appointment, but walk-ins are available sometimes as well.

We went for a bachelorette weekend and had lots of fun. We were able to create something fun and enjoy time together at the same time. It does get a bit crowded and the tables have limited space. They do provide you with detailed instructions (photos included) and all the supplies to do it. We did have gratuity added to our ticket even tho we were only ever helped once with our projects. (Explanation at the beginning) We were there for bottomless mimosas, and they were delicious. They provide water for free as well. All in all, we had a blast and I would go back for sure!

This place is Amazing! Lots of fun options to choose from. Everyone is nice and willing to give you extra products to finish your project at home if you don't complete it within the allotted time! On the leather products you get to dye it whatever color you want! All the creative freedom to make a purely “you” keepsake. I will 100% be driving into Austin again for this place! I plan to let everyone know to swing by here too!

Loved! Such a fun date night or girls night activity. Lots of crafts to choose from for every skill level and they really make it simple with instructions and stencils and everything. You get to create something you’ll really use and enjoy instead just like a random canvas or whatever.

Fun and unique spot. Did a company event here and it was great because it offered so many choices for a group. The crafts are fun, some more so than other, but there really is something for everyone. Getting our projects was fairly slow and they didn’t have some, but once we got to crafting we had a great time. Was only about 1/2 full mid week when we attended. Mask encouraged, but not required.

We had a company team builder here. As a non crafty person, I wasn’t expecting a lot. I was pleasantly surprised and had a fantastic time! I would highly recommend as a #teambuilder or an event with friends. It didn’t hurt that they served an above average Old Fashion. The space was clean, drinks were on point, the food was tasty, and they had various choices of crafts, and service was fantastic - shoutout to Ciara and Damien who were very helpful throughout our experience! As for my choice of craft, I customized a Fedora… just don’t judge them on my results :-D Parking: the lot at 3rd and Colorado was perfect!

Jose was incredibly patient with my indecisiveness on what to make, there were just so many fun options to choose from! He encouraged me to find my own stencil online which really got my creative juices flowing. With his guidance, I managed to create my own custom design cement tray. My tray wasn’t perfect but Jose helped me see the beauty in the imperfections. Plus, the delicious cocktails and catching up with friends added to the amazing experience. I will definitely be back!

Super cool place to make crafts or paint, drink and socialize! Was my first time ever painting and they helped along the way. Very friendly staff with 2 cute dogs that walk around. Would love to go again :)

Coral was so patient and kind when it came to helping me understand the craft I recommend this place for anyone who is crafty and artistic, it is a great experience but make sure you have $50-100 saved before starting it can be pretty pricey but it comes with quality products so it’s understandable, also make sure you give yourself 2-4 hours of crafting time I had to restart and didn’t get to finish but it was a fun experience my friend and I had fun. The only frustrating thing is you are expected to do the crafting by yourself so a lot of it is trial and error. Coral made it fun and didn’t make me feel bad for not knowing what I was doing, customer service from her was 10/10. Next time will probably choose something simpler to make but it is a cool idea for a girls night or a date night.

I give 5/5 for aesthetics and drinks. Other than that, Upstairs Circus leaves much to be desired. Came during Happy Hour with a friend - discounted drinks and certain projects on sale. While we both had fun, there was a definite lack of project clarity especially for beginners. As other reviews mentioned, some comments made by the employees can come off condescending or rude when it comes to direction for projects. If you're looking for a more hands-on craft experience in Austin, I'd go elsewhere. If you're well-versed in crafting, maybe this experience is better suited for you.
