I recently threw a party for my wife's birthday! We rented out the bar. I can tell you that this party went PERFECTLY. The food was excellent, the bar tenders were incredible but the star of the show was Amanda! We worked together for a couple months to pull this off and she was amazing. Incredibly responsive, helped guide me through the process and most importantly she is a really great person. She actually showed up just to make sure everything went well and added some personal touches to our room and the party that we didn't ask for but it made all the difference. If you are ever looking to throw a party, I highly recommend working with Amanda and Verbena! I couldn't be happier with the experience!

Have eaten here twice and the food and service were excellent both times. I particularly enjoyed their beef cheeks (similar taste to short ribs without the fat) along with fresh oysters as an appetizer. Berries & sorbet for dessert capped it off perfectly. Also I like their outdoor seating area, heated with gas furnaces so you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air with your meal. Prices were fair reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. I would definitely go back for more.

Had a great experience here for a bday dinner! Our server Toni was super sweet. The food is phenomenal. Loved the oysters, beef cheek entree, and the citrus salad. And incredible desserts of chocolate crème brûlée and horchata ice cream with espresso! I appreciated the portion sizes and amazing flavors. Super cute ambiance in the outdoor patio!

Went here for the pancakes and they did not disappoint. They had churro pancakes and were gracious enough to make my son plain pancakes since that's all he wanted. Beautiful presentation and great taste. Equipped with a very nice seating area. They have a limited menu and a great looking bar. Definitely a must try if your in downtown Austin.

It is as if the Holy Trinity thy self, has crafted this beautiful fusion with thy own hands. Delivered upon us, a taste, that has never been explored, until now. The incredible flavors in every bite, exceed what was thought to be possible, from even the last bite alone!!! There is a chance, a slim one I must admit, that this dinner was copied, from an ancient lost scroll, now found, decoded, and delivered to us, The Last Supper. A Must-Visit Spot in Austin! Michael the bartender at Verbena is truly exceptional, the most knowledgeable mixologist I’ve encountered. He not only crafts the most authentic, perfectly balanced cocktails (his Last Word with fresh-squeezed juice is a standout!), but he also welcomes you with warmth and shares fascinating insights into the history of the spirits he uses. The ambiance at Verbena is top-notch: clean, stylish, and inviting. The staff is genuinely friendly, making the entire experience feel special. Whether you're a local or visiting Austin, Verbena should absolutely be on your list!

Conveniently located in the lobby of the Canopy hotel, Verbena is the perfect location for both a quick bite or a nice meal! We visited twice for breakfast and had a great experience both times. The menu had a good variety of simple, healthy staples and inventive, more indulgent plates. I really liked their open concept kitchen and patio seating.

Verbena was a perfect pick for my wife's birthday this year. The open picturesque space mixed with shareable dishes made for a great evening with family and friends. Our server was nice and very helpful with suggestions that we may have overlooked. Our food was beyond delicious with flavors out of this world. Although this wasn't our first choice, it will definitely be going forward. I highly recommend Verbena Food & Drink for your next Austin visit.

This place is average at best, nothing special. We had to wait for quite some time until a host showed up to the host stand to greet us. The food is okay, lacks depth and true flavor. There’s not one bite we had that we were thoroughly impressed by. I’ve had better items from the frozen aisle of Trader Joe’s. Food was also semi warm instead of hot. The service is really great and the ambiance is really nice though. Further details on food items ordered: Dumplings: the sauce was supposed to be the star of the show but was just meh, okay. It was warm at best and lacked true flavor. The Birria inside the dumplings was good. Carnitas flatbread: the bread tasted nice, one of the only things that tasted fresh. The red onions completely overpowered the dish though. Concept is good, execution could be much, much better. The pulpo was my favorite thing although it could have been better in flavor. Still just okay. Another huge disappointment was in the cocktails department. I asked if they could sub one of their cocktail vodka drinks with gin and they said no, which is absurd. I asked if they couldn’t sub the spirit, if they could create something similar and they would not. Lacks creative thinking skills in this department, it’s truly not that hard to sub or create something similar with a very similar spirit. Very disappointing. With so many restaurants to compete with, I’d step it up if I were them.

We visited Verbena Food & Drink for brunch, and while parts of the experience were great, others left us a bit disappointed as foodies. I ordered the mole hash, which unexpectedly turned out to be spicy. When I asked beforehand, the server assured me it wasn’t spicy, but later admitted she hadn’t actually tried it herself. My wife had the Verbena Benedict, which featured lobster and lemon béchamel. While it wasn’t supposed to be spicy, it also had an unexpected kick. Due to our bariatric surgeries, we don’t eat much and typically bring leftovers home to avoid waste. Unfortunately, the spice level made it impossible to take more than a few bites, leaving most of our $75 meal (including a $15 tip) uneaten and in the garbage. The server was very sweet and attentive, but her lack of firsthand knowledge about the dishes impacted our meal and our pockets. That said, the atmosphere was fantastic—cozy, comfortable, and relaxing. I’d recommend the restaurant for its ambiance, but I strongly suggest asking your server if they’ve tried the dishes and clarifying details like spice levels before ordering to avoid a similar experience. I believe if we had been guided away from spicy foods, this place would have been a solid 5 stars, hands down!

The only redeeming thing about my visit was the friendly person taking my order. As a vegetarian it can be daunting sometimes to find something on the menu and really the only thing I could find was a maple glazed carrot concoction. DO NOT let other peoples reviews fool you. They have a very short lunch menu and there were no pancakes or delectable appetizers. I have no idea what has happened but this restaurant leaves much to be desired. Contrary to the owners response, the entire lunch menu doesn't even have 11 items on it. Apparenly they also missed the photo of the disgusting dish they served me.
