Had a great time. La Divina Comida has amazing food, and the waiter was very kind. Would definitely come back once again.

Absolutely amazing restaurant, the food was incredible. We had carpaccio for starters, I had the burger and my wife the octopus. The fries with the burger were the best I have ever had. The sauce with the carpaccio was delicious. Great drinks selection. Wonderful atmosphere and will accommodate groups and children.

We are here twice in one week. I fell in love with the leche de tigre. The salmon with golden berry sauce was unique and delicious. We had two different cerviche dishes that were great but I forgot to take photos that evening. The passion fruit dessert was a hit. Again, if you want your bill from the server you need to ask, they will let you sit there for a long, long time when you are finished eating and never offer the check. I think most customers also have drinks while they are there, but we were there for dental work so we were drinking only water. Overall good service other than waiting for the final bill for a long time until we realized we needed to ask specifically for it. I believe it is just a cultural difference. Fourth visit - lunch menu with amazing appetizer of ceviche with leche de tigra (I should just order large version of this every time!) for my main entree I tried the 4 hour stewed beef which was very tender and tomato sauce with rice. I wish there always a bit more flavor and more sauce in the meat. My friend has the seafood entree with fish and clams in tomato sauce. Traditional creme carmel type of dessert was good. Another lunch visit for traditional cerviche 🤤 so good!

We chose this restaurant walking around and it was a pleasant surprise!! The service was Costa Rica slow ;)) but the food and priced were exceptional! LOVED the zucchini appetizer. We shared the entrees and they were delicious also. The rolls were fresh and the sauce was different lol. I will definitely return to try other selections. Oh and the house wines were perfect!

This was easily our favorite restaurant for our entire 10 day Costa Rica trip. Service was excellent. Food was amazing. It happened to be our first night there and down the street from our hotel. The drinks were also 10/10 and full of flavor.

I went here back in January for a late night dinner. Two friends and I enjoyed amazing food and a super awesome outside dining experience. I had never tried peruvian food before, and I was blown away. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Even when I simply think about this place my mouth is watering. It's an interesting fusion type restaurant, where the chef combines unexpected ingredients and flavours. The staff isn't just friendly, but also helpful and knowledgeable, we got great recommendations, which were followed, and we didn't get disappointed. The place is pricey, but the experience is worthy.

One of my all time favorite meals ! 1st timer but will be back for sure ! Wow ! The fish ceviche & risotto with beef tenderloin was extraordinary! Pair that with phenomenal service , and a great environment to enjoy yourself with indoor or outdoor dining

This is a Peruvian restaurant, as all in my visit to Costa Rica, on the Escazú street. I sat inside, the seats were very comportable. While I waited for my guests to arrive, I was able to speak with the owner as well the waiter who gave me the recommendations of what to eat. The menus never give this type of advise. By the time my guests arrive, I knew what we would eat, they all followed his recommendation. In addition to the Ceviches and Tiraditos that are typical Peruvian, I normally have as a second dish the Lomo Salteado. This time I went with the waiters recommendation of grilled salmon with a crust of Quinoa. The Argentinean Malbec was the perfect companion for the food and conversation. Prices were very reasonable for the quality.

Delicious peruvian food and great service. Kind of pricey for costa rica but high quality and we'll executed food. Lots of ceviche options and wine 🍷 was top notch. We sat outside and ordered two ceviches, salmon and classico, both were delicious. Also got the beef tenderloin risotto which was very flavorful, perfectly cooked and a huge portion. Definitely enough food for two people!

The food is flavorful and interesting. The quality and presentation is relatively upscale without pretentiousness. You don't have to get all dressed up to eat a good meal.

Best international peruvian restaurant in Costa Rica. Love the risssottos and ceviches combination.

I loved this place. Although most choices seemed to have seafood, which my team all loved, i got a fantastic tenderloin stir fry toe dish and it was phenomenal. The steak was indeed tender and the veggies and rice was fantastic. The right amount of sauce and veggies. The plate was full too. I really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We just had lunch at this wonderful restaurant. The food was amazing. The ceviche was so fresh and the service was incredible. Sebastian was such a great waiter and we were very grateful to have him. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back.

My wife and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. Our server was very knowledgeable about their menu, kind and attentive. From the zucchini appetizer to the mushroom risotto, we were impressed by the delicious flavors of the food. Unexpectedly, we received the Suspiro Limeño dessert for our anniversary and it was delicious. Food, service and atmosphere will make us come back again for more. THANK YOU!

Great food at a good price. The portions here are huge, so either come with a big appetite or be ready to take some back give with you. It definitely filled up after 7pm so I'd recommend a reservation if you're thinking of dining after then. Parking was a bit difficult to figure out, but you need to park in the mall's ramp and walk over.

This is an amazing “Michelin star” kind of restaurant. They have various entrees that are top notch. I had the seafood in wok and it was very tasty. We also had tiramisu and the Peruvian drink. Highly recommended for anyone visiting San Jose!

One of the best meals of my life. The tuna ceviche was lick-the-plate-clean delicious. Service was wonderful and friendly. I may come back to Costa Rica again just to eat here.

We read about this cool indoor/outdoor restaurant on-line and reserved in advance of our trip, service was excellent, but the food was over the top. We had multiple ceviches which rivalled the best in Peru, sublime truffle tiraditos, and a dark, spicy, chili-like quinoa soup unlike ANYTHING I have ever had. Wow -true masterpiece. Compliments to the team and the chef. We taxied 30 minutes either way to get to LDC, great decision

I started off with fresh bread and a tomato based dipping sauce for the bread. This bread was phenomenal. I then had the chicken bowl with egg on top. It was AMAZING. It was a ton of food and it was so tasty. I had the dessert that looked like a pancake but had no flour or cake in it. That was not the greatest.

Food is excellent and the staff is superb. They are also very honest. We left our backpack with wallet and passports and everything was there when we came to look for it. We will be forever grateful to this establishment.

Brought my 84 yo mother for her birthday.nit was truly an elevated fine dining experience. The food was remarkable which each appetizer and entree offering nuanced, surprising and delicious flavors. Our staff, Jose, was warm and made sure he knew all of our names. The manager and owner also came over to make certain our experience was good. Truly a birthday we will never forget. Thank you to everyone at La Divina Comida for a wonderful evening.

We had heard really great things about this restaurant, so we had to try it. We made a reservation for a Saturday night and when we got there, there were only 2 other tables with customers. I had a ceviche as the entrée and the portion was really big. If I had known, I wouldn't have ordered a main (salmon cakes). I wasn't even able to eat had of my main course. The ceviche was really good, and the salmon cakes were tasty. However, the service was disappointing. They seemed confused, barely spoke to us and were slow. Even though the food was good, I didn't feel like coming back here because of this.

So, i have been visiting La divina comida for special occasions since 2017, If I'm not mistaken, used to be very delicious and excellent service, with a very calm and fancy atmosphere, however, last time I went. It was a chaos, the waiters were super accelerate if you will, they drop things, broke glasses, the atmosphere was veeeeryyy loud. They used to give you bread with a tomato sauce, now it's gone, also the risotto paisano (favorite dish in there) was not cooked perfectly like used to be, and the spiciness and flavor was not the same it used to be. Unfortunately, no longer my favorite restaurant anymore.

Great service, terrible food, tasteless fish, boring ceviches.

Ceviche was very tasty, and the egg over fried rice was pretty good too (but very salty). Cocktails were just okay, nice ambience though! However when they first served the octopus, it was chewy like a rubber. Server was kind enough to send it back and made a new one, which was pretty good. But then on the bill, they wrongfully charged us ~$30USD more, and those were the bottled water and cocktail from the table next to us…

I had a mixed-up-feeling with this restaurant. We ordered the “day menu” with a traditional “cebiche” as a starter and a “lomo saltado” as a main dish. As for the cebiche, the presentation impressed me as there were a good portion of fish served over a fancy plate. Pitty it was a little bitter, missing traditional ingredients such as camote, and very raw flavored corn grains. My feeling is that, if you want to presume a good Peruvian, the cebiche must be flawless. Not the case here. On the other hand, the “Lomo” was obviously not finished in a wok. May be my mistake, as I chose the day menu over a hard menu option but anyways... not enough reason for a top restaurant as this one. Ambiance, table attention and service is top! Will come back again to give another chance.

Not worth the hype. We had extremely awkward interactions with the host and waiter. They were were constantly trying to upsell us and were visibly disappointed when we ordered just one dish per person. We were basically the only ones there early on a week night. The food was alright but didn’t justify the cost. The whole evening was bizarre.

We use to love this place! It use to be one our favorite restaurants in Ave. Escazu. Unfortunately it is a different experience than what we use to look forward to. Now our favorite dishes are inconsistent, service is also not impeccable like it used to be to be (I think the servers are unhappy, for whatever reason - I’ll let that be) I think the biggest mistake they made was changing what they have their menu on. It use to be on you basic laminated menu with pictures to a newspaper format that is so confusing that you spend most of your time at dinner trying to figure it out, and when you ask the waiter questions, their frustration is noticeable. We will not be looking forward to this experience any longer. Sad! 😔

The food and service were good overall. However, it took nearly 1 hour and 40 minutes for our meal to arrive, even though there were only three of us in my table and the restaurant was less than 30% full. Because of the long wait, I couldn’t fully enjoy the food as much as I would have liked.

The food was meh. The meat was over cooked and tough. The portions were fine with my meal but other’s items seemed small. The actual restaurant looked fine but the service was extremely slow. Our table was charged for 8 bottles of water when that was literally impossible when they poured us all a half glass of water and never refilled a glass. Four half filled water bottled were left on the table and removed while we waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our meal. I laughed when the little white rolls were brought to the table and had no flavor or salt. Very disappointing as I love Peruvian food and would have come back multiple times during my stay.

The worst food we had on our whole trip to CR. No flavor, mushrooms were raw. The menu needs work, seems like ingredients are thrown together without any love or thoughtfulness. We all were passing the salt and pepper around the table. Barely any liquor options. The best thing was the dessert that they upsold us by bringing them to the table (not free, but smart selling)

Customer service was super good. The place was clean and nice. I'm giving them 2 stars because of several gastronomic details. The zucchini carpaccio was the saddest veggie carpaccio I've ever tried. No love on it, they should marinate the zucchini or add some more love and creativity into it taking in consideration the lack of veggie dishes in the menu. The meat (we ordered Entraña $65) was overprice and had no salt, quality of the meat was good but still it wasn't worth the price. The Tacu Tacu was a complex dish with lots of processes behind, I think it was a good overall dish in size and flavor. The fish needed a bit more salt and but it didn't bother me. The menu is too big, I do believe in small well executed menus, maybe if they reduce it they can improve the overall quality of the food. Kudos to their customer service which was awesome!

We left disappointed. The biggest issue: I ordered pasta for my kids and was charged extra for Parmesan cheese. Charging separately for something that is a basic part of a children’s pasta dish feels unreasonable and frankly absurd. It left a very bad impression. To be fair, not everything was bad. The tiradito starter was good, and my wife enjoyed the corvina a lo macho, both were recommended by the waiter. The service itself was fine; the waiter did his job well. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t deliver. The tuna Nikkei ceviche was very average, and the seafood risotto lacked flavour and was not enjoyable. Overall, the place let us down. The owner should take a hard look at the concept and pricing decisions, charging for basic items like Parmesan undermines the experience and doesn’t match expectations at this level.

Nathaly Frias

This place was horrible ! First of all I ordered a dish that I do not like and sent it back to the kitchen not only did they put it in the actual receipt after I asked them if they did and they said they didn’t. The food was ok but for the price is definitely not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend this place ever.

H
Henrik Gerdin

Extremely slow and inattentive service. Asked for and got still water, but then they topped up with sparkling. Ordered a beer which took 15 minutes minutes to arrive, and then they came with two… The food var hugely oversized, maybe to compensate for the poor taste. The sound level is incredible noisy, as it bounces off the cement walls. Don’t go to this restaurant!
