Absolutely outstanding. Great food, presentation, service. A little bit unusual wine selection and starting point for rose at $100 per bottle but it’s ok.

A very special restaurant and dining experience, I would highly recommend Le B! This is our second visit and it was even better than our first. Chef Angie Mar is extremely talented and it shows in every dish. Staff is incredibly talented as well; huge shoutout to Emily who made our dinner extra special!!

Came here for the burger, which is only served in limited quantities at the bar, and it was wonderful. As was the crab Wellington which was stuffed with crab and had the most amazingly crisp pastry. The service makes you feel cared for and is fine dining focused without feeling cold.

Arrived at opening, sat at the bar. Negative reviews about "don't expect to be treated special unless you're a friend of the chef" are true, but what do you expect? It's a high end bar/hole in the wall restaurant with good cocktails and good food. The bartender, Elise, makes killer cocktails and overall service in the restaurant was good. I ended up getting the Kusama and their special prime rib burger. Probably the best burger in the city by a long shot. I'll have to go back to try more stuff on the menu. Overall it's a 9.5/10, a point docked for atmosphere due to noise. I'd expect it to be a bit quieter.

Outstanding! Very generous and kind personnel, delicious food (I mean really delicious), and fantastic atmosphere! My favorites: The F.T.C (Foie gras, truffle, caviar) - indulgent but worth the price tag. Maybe one of the best bite in my life. The M.Wallace: Truffle Gin?! AMAZING! And balanced ! Thank you, Chef!

Phenomenal meal, wow. Great restaurant in all respects. Super comfortable too. Got the seafood Wellington, king salmon, salad and mini burger with fries. All beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, as you may see from the (dark, sorry) photo. We came with our 2 year old daughter and they were so accommodating. A must-go in the West Village!

I've been to all the top burger places in city ( 4 Charles, minetta tavern, lords, fairfax, red hook tavern, lions den, pastis, etc) and this is by far the best burger I have ever had, period. Unreal.burger quality is insane ans so juicy and tender. Flavors are elevated and different. Pistachio soufflé was good as well, just wish it had a tad more flavor. Will be back !

Staff was so attentive; Valentina made us feel special for our celebration. The canard (duck prepared table side), rabbit ravioli and salade chinoise were highlights — dessert was the best and cocktails were a delight. Happy we came here and experimented with something a bit different and new. Staff care very much to make everyone happy and taken care of. Plus the atmosphere is just one of cozy chic ness. We made friends with the table next to us. This was our second time here ; we will be back! At the bar next time 🍸

We had the pleasure of attending opening night at Le B. The food was divine. We choose do share a selection of different dishes starting with the deviled eggs. The truffle shavings in combination with the cucumber gave the entire food an unexpected lightness and created a flavour explosion. The autumn parmienter soup was one of the best soups I have had in a long time. But show stopper were the deserts. The crepe flambé with kumquats was the best desert I have had in the last 2 years. Would absolutely recommend!

Everything was impeccable here. Our reservation was late and it took a while to get service, but the team here more than made up for it. Sepo, Emily, and Kyle were friendly, warm and endearing. Chef Angie is a sweetheart and so gracious. The cuisine was exquisite with such wonderful flavor profiles. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend brought me here for a date last night! We had an amazing time that just kept getting better. Our waiter, Eduardo, was just attentive enough. He was well informed on his descriptions of menu items and very friendly. The sommelier was also great! We didn’t get her name, but she stopped by a few times to tell us about our drinks and the special gin she put in my French 75. Food was lovely and approachable. But, I felt the service and atmosphere was even better. It’s a small place and the experience felt personal.

WOW WOW WOW. This place was AMAZING. Came here on its opening night and was immediately blown away by the ambiance and atmosphere. I was seated at the bar and immediately served a glass of wine. The menu is exquisite, and the chef has done an incredible job of curating dishes. I highly recommend the deviled egg, the autumn soup, salmon and duck duck goose. I cannot express how amazing and delicious the food was. Then dessert came. Our waiter told us the chef does not believe in dessert menus, and vividly described what desserts they had. They all seemed so good that we ordered 3/4 of the desserts. Cannot recommend the crepe enough, they flambé it right in front of you, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. The staff is so friendly, and the chef came and spoke to us which was a nice touch. We were a bit underdressed, so recommend dressing a little fancy. This place is definitely a new gem, can’t wait to come back!

Yes food was very expensive but come on, you don’t go to a Prada store and complain their shirts are more expensive than those at Theory. For the record, I knew the price would be high because I have been to the chef’s previous restaurant (Les Trois Chevaux). Service was quick and staff were professional too. I even recognized one server from Les Trois Chevaux. One thing you gotta be careful though is that when you order one item, make sure you specify it is only one order - I ordered one appetizer and one main (along with one big dish to share) and there was a miscommunication and they brought two portions of each. At the end of the day they canceled one main item from the bill and I didn’t bother arguing about the appetizer and left a bigger than usual tip.

Had a wonderful and memorable dinner here several days ago. The experience was elevated and special. The tableware made all the food look and taste fantastic. The sommelier, Hak Soo did wonderful guiding us with delicious wine throughout the evening. It’s not easy to find a place like this New York and I recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and delicious experience.

Chef Mar’s cathedral operates on a simple principle: more is the only gospel. The tableside theatre — that flambéed spectacle, those towering presentations — recalls empire at its zenith, before the fall we’re currently experiencing in slow motion. French technique meets NYC in dishes that refuse whispers when they can shout. The opulence isn’t subtle; it’s deliberate, almost defiant. One leaves sated yet contemplating the word “decadence” in all its meanings. The Beatrice Inn’s spirit lingers here, reincarnated in butter and flame. The wine list is extraordinary. So too is the maitre D’s memory. I was treated as a close friend after my first visit. I came back many times. This reminds me to return again soon.

Fantastic meal. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Service was super attentive, and the dishes were hit after hit, the halibut and the duck, and the cheese course with cherries, all amazing. And the wines poured, rarely do you see such a thoughtful selection of gems, all appropriately aged, some hidden and some well known. One of the best fine dining experiences we've had recently, many thanks to the team!

We took a client & his family to this beautiful jewel box of a restaurant in December - it was an amazing experience. Of course all the food was delicious and beautifully prepared - so many courses - each dish amazing. But I have to say- more than the food, I thought the service stood out. Even the process of making the reservation was a pleasure- Katrina was so professional and kind. The servers were all at the top of their game (not easy to be graceful while squeezing in between tables). And after dinner, the chef invited us to tour the kitchen and she chatted w/ our guests- these are the things that made the dinner stand out for us, this is the type of personal treatment that is hard to find in a NYC restaurant, even a pricey one.

The atmosphere was very nice and intimate. Refined but relaxed. The service was fantastic. The food was superb. The garlic soup was excellent and the pastry was flaky and buttery. Le Burger was the absolute epitome of umami. The blend of beef and french cheeses was out of this world!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here last night and everything was excellent. I should say, beyond excellent. Yes, it is a really pricey restaurant, even for NYC, even for a fine-dining spot. But every bite we ate was truly memorable (and this is coming from foodies who’ve dined all over the world), and service was attentive, polite and old-school. We were skeptical after reading some reviews but we were treated with utmost courtesy. They even went above and beyond for certain things. I was unhappy with our initial table and they changed it, with a smile. Even though we didn’t order dessert, the chef sent out something amazing in celebration of our special day, on the house. The sommelier guided us towards a most delicious bottle of red, and the burger was impeccable. We ordered a la carte and found the portions to be perfectly sized. I’m sure they are much smaller for the tasting menu, but why would you want big portions for a 6+ course meal? Bonus points for their lovely china. All around outstanding. Thanks, Le B!

Food was amazing and the staff were so nice but the wait time was a lot. I try to never complain but the dinner for two courses and dessert, took over 3 hours and we waited for the majority of it. Either way, incredible food and amazing atmosphere. If you go, you have to get the seafood Wellington, it was INCREDIBLE.

Exquisite experience. A beautiful jewel box of a restaurant in the heart of the West Village. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated like very special guests. Food execution and presentation is at the highest level yet still feels soulful & personal. The tasting menu is the best way to journey through Chef Mar's talents. Service staff was warm & professional. A destination.

So far my best restaurant in New York. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Their attention to detail and service was world class. Loved their decor, atmosphere and most importantly the food. The chef sent out complimentary hors d’oeuvres- the Onion Nancy with pommes soufflé because the wait for my order would take a while due to how I wanted it cooked. It was incredible. Light and fluffy and a great pairing with the crisps. I continued with the lamb chops. I can’t even describe how tasty that dish was. So well cooked with a delicious sauce. I was actually there for the burger and let me tell you, there’s no better burger in New York. Scrumptious. No other words can describe it. I’m not sure why it isn’t more raved about than the likes of 4 Charles. I finished with the crepes Suzette which was wonderfully prepared table side. Listen, if you’re thinking about dining here, DO IT. You’ll have no regrets. 10/10. Actually cannot wait to go back.

Cannot say enough about how much we loved this dining experience and Le B. in general. We sat at the bar to get two of the nine burgers for the night and Ernesto, the bartender, took amazing care of us. Truly one of the better dining experiences we've had. Every single thing he recommended was absolutely outstanding, not to mention this was the best burger we've ever had. He also made us phenomenal espresso martinis to end the night! The table side crepes were also to die for. Truly every single thing about the experience was amazing. I am a huge fan of Chef Angie Mar. I loved her Beatrice Inn and now I love Le B! It is a beautifully decorated, intimate supper club. The food is perfection. You can tell she and her team pay attention to every detail. From the cocktails to the appetizers to the main courses. The highlight of the evening was the burger. The best I have ever had in NYC. It didn’t have a lot of distractions, just the finest meat dry aged 45 days, a fresh bun, and those slow roasted caramelized onions. It melts in your mouth and it was pure deliciousness! You can tell she cares about every guest because she comes out to speak to every table herself. It was our 10 yr anniversary and we had such a wonderful time! Thank you Le B!

The exterior of the restaurant is obscure but intriguing. Upon entering, I was greeted by a classically dimly lit ambiance that perfectly embodies the authentic fine dining experience found in New York. The staff were genuinely passionate about sharing their knowledge and showed great respect for their roles in providing exceptional service to each customer. The food was beautifully presented, with each dish showcasing complex and orchestrated flavors that left me wanting to savor every last drop on my plate! Thank you!!.

Ignore the haters and negativity in some reviews. Le B is the chic and intimate place you’ll want to return to again and again for warm hospitality, incredible food thoughtfully and precisely prepared with a story behind each dish, and a sexy vibe with a touch of whimsy. I recently dined at Le B for the first time, and I cannot wait to return and to host a party there some day. The burger has a lot of buzz, and it did not disappoint. It was hands down the best burger I’ve had maybe in my life — and that is not hyperbole. The dry-aged beef imparts a rich umami that you just don’t find in other hyped burgers around the city. It was cooked to medium-rare perfection and topped with a velvety dollop of d’affinois cheese — “cheese of the angels” as my best friend and I have called that cheese for years. The warm and pillowy brioche bun absorbs all of the beefy and cheesy goodness to curate the perfect bite. Chef Mar has also perfected the art of frites allumettes — or shoestring fries. They were served dramatically in a stunning crystal bowl, and they were perfectly crispy with a delightful chew and balanced seasoning. This burger and frites combo needs to be on every “best burger” list. Let’s set aside the burger that everyone else in the dining room ordered too when I ate there and pivot to Chef Mar’s broad talents as it relates to French techniques and cuisine. We decided to order a sample of what our server highlighted as the “best hits” from the more comprehensive à la carte menu, and we were simply blown away by the creativity, complexity, flavor, execution, and stories behind each dish. We began with Onions Nancy — an ode to Chef Mar’s mother and a childhood memory the chef had of her mother’s Lipton onion soup dip. She placed a French twist on it by using beautifully caramelized onions, crème fraîche, and foie gras drippings to put an elegant twist on that childhood memory, and she paired it with exquisitely thin homemade potato chips. We loved learning about stories behind each of the dishes we ordered, and hospitality is all about those stories, cooking from the heart, and connecting with people across the table from you and around the room with you as you enjoy beautiful food. We knew this was the beginning of a memorable meal. We next tried the calf’s brain ravioli. Light and succulent with a decadent dollop of caviar on each raviolo. Heavenly. Next we opted for Chef Mar’s signature bread course: “TFC” — freshly baked bread laced with Perigord truffles and topped with caviar. The bread is served with a partial lobe of foie gras stuffed with porcini mushrooms, and the combination eaten together is heaven on your tongue. The burger and frites came next (see above for the description) as our primary course. With a meal so carefully and perfectly executed and scrumptious, we could not leave without dessert. So we opted for tableside crêpes Suzette and a light-as-air strawberry rhubarb soufflé featuring wild strawberries and rhubarb that Chef Mar selected that day. Both desserts were divine. Beyond the fabulous food, the service was warm and welcoming. The maître’d was extremely welcoming when we arrived, escorted us to our table, was politely attentive when my friend excused herself from the table so he could help with her chair and refold her napkin, and conversed with us at the end of our meal. The two servers who helped us were delightful, attentive, and provided wonderful recommendations and guidance throughout the evening. Chef Mar circulated throughout the dining room and was approachable and conversational. And the bartender crafted a lovely gin martini with a dramatic presentation of six olives to garnish the beautiful drink. I hope Le B thrives because it is a gem in the city and a place to go when you feel like a warm hug — from the food and the staff.

Starting off with the service: this was on the same level of Eleven Madison Park, definitely in the top 3 best restaurant services I've ever received. They were meticulous, attentive, and friendly. It elevated the experience to an unforgettable one. As for the food, everything we got was creative and absolutely delicious. We were wowed by the flavors and sauces for everything. The deviled egg was a strong start and one of my 2 favorite dishes. The trout was served raw, which I wasn't expecting, but it was a in a super creamy, unique potato sauce that made it standout and even better than anticipated. We split the crab Wellington which was a perfect dish to end on. We could have gone without the onions Nancy but it's one of their most popular dishes and was still good, just didn’t have the wow factor of other dishes. We also could have gone without the cheese but it was delicious and I have no regrets! The only caveat is that the portions are small so you must get multiple dishes to be full and the dishes are pricey. However, if you come into this knowing it’s for a special occasion or with the expectation that this is a luxury dinner, your money buys you a much better dinner here than at many other similarly priced restaurants in Manhattan. I would come back to sit at the bar and order a glass of wine & crab Wellington to split. I wish this place the best and hope the right crowd finds them because they truly created a remarkable evening!

Had a festive Christmas eve dinner with three friends. This was my second meal at Le B. Perfect ambiance and amazing food. Arguably one of the best high-end meals I've had in my 20 years living in NYC. Extraordinary execution of highly refined French dishes, often with a flawless, subtle Japanese undertone. Pig Trotter and duck were standouts. The Boudin Blanc And pot au fue are also wonderful. don't miss the desserts including the souffle andwell-assembled cheese course. Service can be slow but not intolerable. It is also not an inexpensive experience but you pay for what you get. Kudos to Angie and team. A truly elegant, delicious experience.

Going to Le B is among the top 10 worst decisions of my life. What distinguishes Le B from mere bad restaurants is its aggressive conviction that it’s a top notch French experience. . The $700 check arrives with an implicit accusation YOU simply are mistaken to notice that that the $100 reservation fee hasn’t been deducted as promised . I could have stayed home, ordered Thai food, and preserved both my evening and my faith in the possibility of competent cooking.

This is a very difficult review for me, because the food at Le B is amazing. BUT, check out my photos. I ordered a martini and for $30 the glass should have been full. The deviled egg was, in my opinion, unfortunately uninspiring. The glass of wine that I ordered was a 2018 Nenin Pomerol, which is a delicious wine, but I was poured just over a sip both times (see photos). That glass cost almost $60, and I indulged in two glasses. The squab appetizer and the smoked duck entree were both delicious. Spending over $150 on a drink and two glasses of wine should have been a better experience, and it detracted from an otherwise lovely evening.

Does not accept inKind so if anyone was thinking of using that to pay please take note. Surprised it was not accepted even though their website advertises an inKind promo. Food and service is good, prices are the same as a Michelin star restaurant.

I really wanted to enjoy Le B NYC, but ended up leaving disappointed. We recently saw her on Master Class and she went over her presentation and creation of her hamburger. My wife and I were really excited as we had planned on going to New York for a few days for some fun. Long story short we were less than impressed by the food. We arrived at 6pm and were the only ones there in the entire restaurant. The wait staff were great and always checked on us. My complaint is only on the food. You would think with only the 2 of us in the restaurant the chef could take her time to come out and see how we're enjoying the meal, but she only walked by us to check with the Maitra D. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but i feel it would go a long way. I like to see the Chef just look around and see if people are enjoying there prepared meal. The Bluefin Tuna was too salty, The hamburger was good, but not worth the price. Dessert was disappointing. I ordered the Passion Fruit Soufflé and was surprised on how quickly it came out. Normally should take around 20mins, but came out under 15mins. The souffle was just entirely goopy as it had not set. Overall not great as this was our least favorite experience in NYC.

The food was good, but the portions were pretty small. The burger was solid though I wouldn’t say it was worth the money. The appetizer was interesting, and both the lamb and salmon were so good. I especially loved how they split the dish into two servings. And the dessert was amazing, super rich and chocolatey. They also had $4 per person for dining fee if you don’t sit in a bar and it reminded me of dining in Paris lol

We had the restaurant week menu plus a few add ons, notably the Le Burger and duck confit. The servers were great. Overall not a bad experience but we were disappointed they couldn't cook the duck confit tableside (as advertised on the menu). The le burger was good but the bun was pretty burnt on the inner side (as you can see in the picture) and the seasoning wasn't consistent, some parts were properly salted, other parts were bland. I had the squash main dish since they ran out of seafood wellington (how do they run out by 7pm?) and that tasted like vegetable tempura in udon soup. I was hoping for a more standout dish

Le B opened fairly recently and there has been a little bit of hype, leading me to go in with fairly high expectations. However, while there were definitely highlights with the food, taste is only one element of the dining experience, and Le B failed horribly at timely service. This encompassed all aspects of my dinner there, from the wait for server attention, the wait between ordering and starters arriving (more than 30 minutes), the wait between finishing starters and the mains that we had already ordered arriving (another 45+ minutes). What we had expected to be 1.5 to 2 hour meal ended up at a plodding 3.5 hours. Shockingly enough, some dishes came out lukewarm or cold; this meant the delays could not have been caused by cooking the dishes right as we were ready for the courses. Regardless of the cause, that is a huge black mark for a high end restaurant. This was not a one off experience either- these problems occurred consistently over multiple different nights, as experienced by three different parties of friends. One party even had a main cancelled and replaced with a more expensive one due to some unspecified problem with the quality; this would normally be considered a positive indicator of commitment to customers, however it caused a full hours delay. Le B is simply not ready for primetime. Menu highlights: Dungeness Crab Wellington, Lamb Chops Roy

Came for the burger, left disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful and feels upscale but the food was exorbitantly priced and its execution did not match the atmosphere. The burger was greasy and unseasoned with a bun that was dry and didn’t hold up well. The fries were a complete miss, so thin the were hard to eat and over salted. They should rethink experience especially for a price tag of 80+ dollars. Tik tok lies!

I ate at Le B. on Sunday, May 18th, as part of an event where they would show their new menu. Despite being told in the invite that the burger they're famous for would be an option for all diners, when we got there we were told we HAVE to order a starter AND a main meal each to QUALIFY to then order a burger. The waiter didn't give any advice for the starters (for example, that the 28 dollar oysters only have 3 per serving, while we were four guests), and while all the starters didn't taste bad, none were remotely close to being worth what they charge for each dish. The restaurant tries to justify its prices by calling itself fine dining, while there is nothing 'fine' about it. They don't give anything for free - no bread, an hors d'œuvre, nothing - while charging ridiculous prices for tiny, tiny portions. They also outright lie on the menu. For example, my halibut main said it comes with seasonal vegetables, when it actually arrived there was one carrot the size of two peas, and one slither of an onion. One person ordered a $50 pork steak that was served as if it were steak frites, with NOTHING to go with it. They wouldn't even give a generous amount of sauce (it was very dry) and I eventually had to get up and go to the kitchen to ask for more. I've eaten at a lot of places in New York, and this was one of the worst. The whole experience just makes you feel like you are being scammed. Avoid. Go to Le Cou Cou if you want fine dining. Same prices, much better food, ambiance and service.

Food was fine - nothing to write home about. I ordered the soup which was good (but definitely NOT worth $42 price tag),salmon was over salted - almost inedible. Dessert was fine. The host was awful and didn’t smile once. He was rude and pretentious. The actual servers themselves were great. Atmosphere is nice but it was so cold in the restaurant I could barely feel my toes. It was a cold night in Manhattan definitely, but then they need to adjust their heating accordingly. I was uncomfortable the entire night. Price was outrageous for two people. I wouldn’t go back even for half the price honestly.

Review: Le B — $62 Burgers, A Cold Seafood Sausage Roll, and the Art of Serving Chaos with Rosé Angie Mar once lit up New York’s dining scene with unapologetic decadence. But at Le B, her latest venture, all that’s left is a luxury illusion held together by branding, candlelight, and a deeply overworked front-of-house staff. We booked Le B for my partner’s birthday. A big night. I even prepaid for two of their “only-nine-a-night” LE BURGER Things unraveled before we even arrived. At 6:30pm, I get a missed call and a text: “Your table is ready.” Our reservation? 8:30pm. I call back. The message: “We’d like you to come earlier.” No apology. No context. Just pressure. We arrive at 8:30. We're seated. And then… silence. 30 minutes pass. No menus. No acknowledgment. By 9:00pm, we’re finally handed menus. By 9:15, we abandon the tasting menu, that we were looking forward to and opt for the Restaurant Week prix fixe, hoping to salvage the evening and be out before midnight. We order a two cocktails. For starters: foie gras and seafood ravioli. The waiter returns: “No ravioli.” And let’s be clear: we get it. It’s New York. It’s a Friday. Food runs out. But when you’ve got a full tasting menu of starters, and your only offer is a green salad or another foie, that’s not hospitality, it’s contempt. Moments later, the table next to us, seated after us, orders and gets the ravioli. We ask. The waiter replies: “They called ahead for it.” I ask, flatly: “Are we really going with the idea someone called ahead to reserve a starter ravioli?” He doubles down, runs to the kitchen, and we watch the argument unfold from our table. He returns, foie in hand, and admits it wasn’t true. Then, to his credit, he apologised profusely, saying: “If I could have gotten it for you, I would have.” And you could tell he meant it. He looked mortified. After the foie, came the LE BURGER. Forty-five-day dry-aged Angus blend. Fromager d’affinois. Cabernet. $62. What we got: A stale, cracking bun Cheese so salty, it bulldozed any nuance A bland, under seasoned patty, dry-aged but dead inside Fries like brittle chip sticks, as if scooped from a forgotten box in the back of a catering van Then came the mains: Rabbit confit, flambéed table-side with all the copper pan drama you could want And the infamous Seafood Wellington Let’s start with the rabbit: all performance, no payoff. Then came the Seafood Wellington, a dish that belongs in a cautionary tale. You didn’t even need to cut into it to know it was wrong. The seafood mousse had completely pulled away from the pastry, creating a gaping void you could’ve parked a bicycle in. That kind of separation usually happens from moisture in the duxelles or poor wrapping technique, but there was no duxelles. Just a cold, dense, flavorless seafood mousse that had clearly been set in advance, then wrapped, baked, and hoped for the best. It wasn’t a Wellington. It was a cold seafood sausage roll in pastry drag. No chef with standards would have served it. Before the mains arrived, we ordered another round. They didn’t appear… until dessert. Dessert, at least, was flawless: a passionfruit soufflé, tart, precise, and technically perfect, the only dish that deserved to be served that night. As it hit the table, so did our long-missing drinks. And then, in a move that bordered on parody, the maître d’, who had ignored us the entire night, suddenly appeared to drop off two glasses of rosé champagne, without so much as a word. No acknowledgment. No apology. Not even a forced smile. It was the kind of gesture that says: “Something’s gone terribly wrong but I don’t know what to do about it, so… here’s this.” Then: the check. $440, with a mandatory 20% gratuity. A forced service charge for a night that had failed at every turn, except for the soufflé and the waiter, the only person who actually tried. We didn’t fight it. He was left high and dry, and I hope he knows he’s better than what Le B is giving him.

Horrible place, the snobby guy wearing the suit at the front is A JERK. I walked in asking if this was do not disturb a restaurant next door (which is a speakeasy and easy to miss) and he barely looks up and goes let me show you, thought he would point me to the direction of the restaurant I was looking for but instead shows me the sign that’s kind of hidden at the top of the door which had the restaurant name. Basically trying to be extremely condescending. Such an attitude SO RUDE, no one taught this restaurant basic customer service. Place also didn’t have a vibe or atmosphere, so many others places in Manhattan to go to save your time and money!

W
Whitney Vogt

horribly overpriced and extremely limited menu. the restaurant week for $60 is a scam – the burger is an additional $48 (not listed on the menu online) and otherwise only a choice of 2 minuscule sized entrees. the service was so slow and I left hungry. they also add auto 20% gratuity for every table. do not waste your time and money here.

V
Vick Zhang

Poorly executed mediocre ideas. We went for Valentines where they had 2 prefix menus, we went with the “premium” one. Oh boy, scallop with Foie Gras with no compote and NO ACIDIC ELEMENTS. Sole fish and totally undercooked and unrelated Japanese Yam and truffle. If you come here, and god forbid if you do, go with their regular menu. Or better yet go somewhere else. Plus extremely, and I do mean extremely overpriced.

I am actually floored. I have eaten all over Manhattan and have worked in a handful of restaurants, but most importantly I almost never leave reviews. I understand when sometimes portions are small or service is rushed or food doesn’t meet expectations occasionally or items can seem overpriced. But certainly an establishment cannot do all of those things. We split the burger and the weekly special dessert. Burger was great, simple but well executed. It was however $80… not sure how we were charged this much or if there was a splitting fee but insane. We found plastic wrap in our dessert as well and had to spit it out. Not sure if it was early in service jitters but we only ordered it because the head chef recommended it directly. After we notified the waiter the host apologized and not even the chef. The service was incredibly slow and not attentive. It seemed like we were a chore or an obligation for them which is fine if the place wasn’t relative quiet all of service. Additionally there was an auto added gratuity of 20%. Not that we wouldn’t tip that regardless it felt ridiculous after 2 hours of bad service for two diners. Overall I was mesmerized with how poorly the team, the establishment, and the experience were and fell well below any expectation and certainly below the amount of money they charged. Excited to never return!

Can’t believe the bartender lady Carolyn or Catherine asked for a tip. Disgusting and disrespectful. She made me feel as I have to leave a tip, and when I asked she said it’s not necessary but “recommended”. Very disappointing. Lady with mid short hair little streaks of blonde on her hair.

I came into this restaurant by mistake and asked the man at the front desk if there was a different restaurant (the numbering on the block is a little weird and speakeasies are so common in NY) and he was extremely rude off rip even though I was being entirely polite and even apologized for the mixup and said thank you. He continued being extremely disrespectful in tone when I asked if he happened to know where the other restaurant was (it was hidden under a staircase next door but he said no). I was confused because it wasn't even like he was busy and I was bothering him (the restaurant was totally empty). Finally I said, "I'm not sure what the attitude is for" and he responded "you haven't seen anything yet." Nasty and rude for absolutely no reason, I was in there for a total of two minutes. Never been before and absolutely won't go now.

If pretension were a seasoning, this place would be Michelin rated. I was already seated, drink in hand, when I was told to remove my hat mid-sip because “most restaurants in NYC make you take your hat off.” First of all… no they don’t. Second, if that’s your policy, maybe mention it before seating someone and serving a drink? The delivery was condescending and bizarre, like I’d violated an unspoken dress code from 1954. The vibe overall was judgmental and uncomfortable. Staff openly gossiping and speaking in French to each other while side-eyeing guests is not “authentic,” it’s rude. It felt less like hospitality and more like being evaluated by a panel of bored waiters. And then the bathrooms… absolutely foul. Unclean, smelly, and completely at odds with the self-important, high-horse energy of the dining room. If you’re going to be this smug, at least keep the restroom from smelling like a bus terminal. Plenty of great French restaurants in NYC that don’t confuse arrogance for sophistication. Skip this one unless you enjoy being policed, judged, and grossed out….all at premium prices.
