Food was great. Ribs, brisket, sausage were all seasoned well and smoked to perfection. Burnt Ends were flavorful but a little greasy but that's to be expected. Onion rings were huge and fresh. Beans were tasteful. Overall a great experience. The food is a little costly but well worth it.
Excellent food and service, there’s no competition whatsoever. The Fort Worth location is absolutely beautiful and the staff is so friendly. If you’re nearby, you need to stop by and grab a bite!
Loved loved loved the kid at the register. He is so smart, kind, and funny and led us to excellent choices (but I suspect everything is). Our greeter, Steve, kept everyone around us feeling like family. Hard to know what people come for the most - the food was amazing!
Fatty brisket was good level of moisture, and very tasty, the house sausage was the stand out; crisp, casing, perfect, grind texture, and just the right amount of fat. Barbecue sauce was good, a little sweet and molasses, heavy for my taste, but unique and enjoyable on the brisket. Very pretty patio overlooking the river with lots of trees; definitely worth a visit!
Always one of my favorite spots staff is so nice and the food is even better. Seems like I always order with Amanda and she is always so helpful and loves to recommend great things.
Amanda did a very good job of taking our order and made us feel good about being there. I like people who are cordial and fun but don't overdo it. Amanda is that kind of person. Way to go Amanda!
Food is awesome and the staff is great. Beautiful atmosphere makes this a wonderful dining experience. This is hands down the best BBQ in Fort Worth, come and visit, you won’t regret it!
10/10 experience from the food, to the location, to the FUN outdoor areas. This is going to be our summer go-to! We had a party of 6 people and ordered a lot of food. Expo time was mere minutes with the quality of everything being top notch. The drinks from the back bar were great and made with care. Super kid friendly place and we loved getting a little tour of the smoke room. This place is cool and we are happy they opened up this location. 😍 THE BANANA PUDDING 😍 THE BURNT ENDS 😍 Can’t wait to be back!
Amanda and Lauren were great! They went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and all our needs were met. Their attention to detail was top notch and far superior when compared to their peers. Promote now!
Update: Jeff and the team at Heim went above and beyond to make things right! They apologized for the error and allowed us to join them for a holiday celebration at the location. The food was fantastic and the event was so much fun for the entire family! Definitely made us even more of a Heim BBQ fan! Thank you again! Ordered the Family Pack for my Son’s Birthday and did not receive the Burnt ends or the Banana Pudding as stated online. They did not mention anything being out of stock and simply gave the order without them. It wasn’t until I unpacked it at my house that I realized that they were missing. Certainly disappointing, especially for the price.
My first time here was for a private party, and I’ll be back! Patio is super-lovely, sides, were delicious, and everyone raved about the bacon burnt ends! Our server, Amanda, was phenomenal - this was a large party with a lot of chaos (and people moving seats!), but she found everyone to take all their orders, made sure everyone’s food found them no matter where they were, and then helped us serve the cake at the end of the party.
Amanda and Sarah were both amazing to help us choose what we wanted on the menu. Made the whole experience 10x better. Definitely will be coming back to see Amanda and Sarah.
Our first time at Heim didn’t disappoint! I was excited to hear they’re a nut-free facility (as someone with a nut allergy). Amanda was lovely and very helpful!!!
Came after going to the Zoo on Black Friday. Menu was no clear on what can or can’t be on the meat plate. They were out of ribs anyway. I had the jalapeño and cheese sausage, burnt ends, Mac n cheese, and potato salad. My wife had a brisket sandwich and fries. We went around 5pm so it was quiet. Sausage was delicious and the burnt ends were to die for. The Mac was good and the potato salad was different but it was soooo good. Brisket sandwich was huge and it was fire. Fries are thinner - they were perfectly crisp and seasoned well. Even the ranch was good! I wish they had a spicy bbq but all in all - excellent. Will come back again if I’m in Ft. Worth.
Quality food and quality service! Best lunch around. Amanda and Sarah were great on all aspects of their jobs! Above and beyond performance from these two women!
Sliced brisket sandwich was perfect. Large business group enjoyed the visit. Be back for the deck next visit.
Amanda, our waitress, was exceptional extraordinarily helpful. We sat on the outside patio with a large group of students and parents and she was over-the-top helpful, assisting us with all of our food and dining needs, and overall set a wonderful atmosphere for the evening.
This location specifically is quickly becoming one of my favorite local BBQ spots in Fort Worth. One thing I love is there is always an open table, even if the parking lot is full. Some of my favorites here include the Bacon Burnt Ends, Ribs, and the green chili Mac and cheese. The loaded Mac and Cheese is great if you’re looking for a sample of BBQ and a side. The BBQ is pricy, as all Texas BBQ is, but well worth it. They also have an awesome story about how the owner, Travis, found his passion for BBQ and what was once a food truck is now a Fort Worth establishment. Support your local BBQ!
Amanda and Sasha were an AMAZING add on to our first experience with this brand. We LOVED the food, environment, layout, and ESPECIALLY the service. 10/10, HIGHLY recommend, and most likely having AGAIN.
Texas BBQ at its best! Get in the line and order your food THEN go pick out your table. Inside if too hot but definitely outside at the picnic tables in the evening. String lights and live music on a Saturday set the scene for the food to come! I got the 2 meat/2 sides option. Brisket, Bacon Burnt Ends, Hatch Chili Macaroni and Cheese and coleslaw. Turns out, that three full meals worth of food for me. 🤣 So good! Those Bacon Burnt Ends are HUGE and smoked to perfection. The brisket was a nice balance of fat to lean, super filling and satisfying. The Mac was good, creamy with a touch of pepper. Not too hot, perfect for me. The coleslaw is a purple cabbage and carrot variety. Good flavor and crunch, this slaw would be amazing served on top of a pulled pork sandwich! We also got the potato salad and the banana cream pudding. Both were delicious. Potato salad has some of the burnt ends and cheddar cheese in it. All the sides are served in a fairly large portion. We took home enough food for a whole other meal 😂 They do have a bar serving beer and wine, not sure about cocktails. Didn't see any. They have a person outside to sell additional beverages by the picnic tables. This is one of three locations and by far the most casual. Kids playing on the grass while adults sit at the picnic tables listening to music and chatting pleasantly. Great place to take the family!
This place has delicious BBQ options! The first time I ate Heim's was at their food truck on Clifford St. It's nice to have a restaurant to come to and enjoy the same amazing food. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and helpful. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's probably a good thing I don't live closer because I'd be suffering from the meat sweats a lot more.
AMANDA!!! She is the poster child of what all customer service represents. As first-time Heim diners, she made sure our order and experience was one we’d never forget. She recommended great dishes annd even let us sample the bacon burnt ends! Amanda’s welcoming spirit made our visit here truly memorable. Thank you, Amanda, for welcoming us to Heim and to Texas!
A Must-Visit Spot! Heim BBQ absolutely delivered on every level. The food was incredible—perfectly smoked, packed with flavor, and served hot and fresh. From the brisket to the sides, every bite was a win. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and just what you’d hope for in a great BBQ joint. It felt like a place where you could kick back and enjoy a great meal with good company. What really set this visit apart, though, was the customer service. Katy and Amanda went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. You can tell they genuinely care about the guests and love what they do. Huge shoutout to both of them—y’all are awesome! Highly recommend checking out Heim BBQ if you're in the area. It’s more than just a mea, it’s an experience. Can’t wait to come back!
First time here and will definitely be back, I was really impressed how patient Amanda was when ordering. I also had a great experience with the whole staff Sarah and Sasha were also helpful and made the atmosphere feel like coming back thanks to everyone there. My husband and I are very happy with stopping in here.
It occurred to me after my most recent visit that I had never reviewed so I had to remedy that. Heim is my go-to BBQ for anyone visiting me from out of town. I lived in FTW for 8 years so I was there when the first location opened. There are a lot of great places to get BBQ in the area but Heim is my favorite. And the Riverside location is the best IMO. It has all the great stuff of the other locations (amazing beef ribs, brisket, sausage, bread) while also having great parking. I also have to call out the amazing service. There’s a gentleman there who has a walker of some sort who works there. I was with my kids and friend and he was so attentive and helpful especially with my daughter. The whole staff is great but wanted to call him out specifically. I asked his name but forgot since then. Anyways, I love this place
Food was delicious and service was friendly! Had a scrumptious lunch with friends at @heimbarbecue. From the brisket to the ribs, everything was delicious and juicy. The Jalepeno mac was okay, and the coslaw was tangy and on the vinegary side. I didn't mind it because it cut through the fatty meats well. Pulled pork was also smoky and tender, mouthwatering. ❤️My fav were the extra cripsy onion rings. It's probably the best I've had. The Blueberry Lavender cobbler recieved rave reviews from us as a perfect ending sweet treat. (My friend wants the recipe lol) 😋 💕 Definitely would recommend 👍🏻
Great restaurant in the river district. Personally I like this location better than the Magnolia location as it has much more space and it’s easier to get seated and enjoy the meal. Today I had the 2 meat plate with pork ribs and jalapeño cheddar sausage, with Mac and cheese and pinto beans for sides.
So dog friendly and the manager Becca was amazing. She helped make our experience spectacular. Made me and my pup feel extra special and the bartender. Sara was amazing.
Bacon ends are so good they have ran out a few times we've gone. The loaded potato skins are awesome and easy to share. Brisket, pulled pork, and sausage are so good they get you making noises while you eat 😂💥... yes... that good. Highly recommend pretty much anything here. Just be ready not to complain about the price because its worth every penny!!!
I was on vacation in Fort Worth from New York, and I knew we needed to try some Texas BBQ before leaving. This was the only BBQ place open nearby so we decided to try it out. It was surprisingly quiet for dinner time on a Saturday. There was no wait at all which was nice. The atmosphere was really nice with a lot of people sitting outside and they have live music performing. The food was amazing. I got the 1/2 pound of brisket and the loaded small potato skins. The brisket was very tender and juicy, the Mac and Cheese was really good, the fries were nothing special really. Just your standard crinkle cut restaurant fries. But the potato skins really surprised me. They were absolutely delicious. Pricing seemed very fair to me. Even surprisingly cheap. Maybe it’s because I’m from New York where everything is more expensive. But the half pound of brisket with 2 sides would easily be $20-$25. I was expecting to pay much more. I think the negative reviews about the portions may partially be because they look small on the tray. But a half pound of brisket is still a half pound, and that was very filling for me on top of the 2 sides. The staff was also great, there was a friendly gentleman who asked how everything was and everyone seemed to take their job seriously, being very attentive, bussing tables, and handing out menus by the door. If you are in the area I definitely recommend trying this place out. A nice casual BBQ experience
13/10 would recommend Heim, and specifically this location. Food is always cooked perfectly and the atmosphere is a vibe. Front of the house staffers, Amanda and Nancy, are always so welcoming and take great care of us while ordering and after. Would give more stars if I could.
Amanda and Sasha helped me from beginning to end. The building is clean, kitchen looks organized which is great sign. Food did not disappoint either!! Burnt Ends hit with sweet a d smokey flavor, I got Sliced brisket on Big Cat sandwich. Sara and Kennedy also kept me entertained at bar while waiting on food. Make this your spot if its not.
Heim BBQ absolutely lives up to the hype—but what really made our visit memorable was the service from Amanda and Sarah W. From the moment we walked in, they were warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to make sure we had a great experience. They knew the menu inside and out, offered spot-on recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. On top of the food being phenomenal, excellent service like theirs is why I’ll definitely be back.
First off, the BBQ was fantastic! We got the jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket, and the pork ribs ..... and would order all 3 again next time. Their Mac and Cheese was also great and I give their coleslaw a 3 out of 5 rating. We sat on the patio on a Saturday night and listened to some incredible live music and just had an incredible time altogether!
If you are reading this, you should be figuring out the logistics to get there as quickly as you can. Continuing to read this review is getting in the way of you enjoying your first Big Cat sandwich. My life is now temporary inconveniences between Big Cat sandwiches. Why are you still reading this? Go, now!
Found this BBQ by seeing them Featured on Meat Church YouTube show called Pitt Stops with Matt Pitman. Needless to say this BBQ did not disappoint. The Brisket is phenomenal and the Bacon burnt ends are amazing. From the Menu to the staff to the cobbler and atmosphere this stop is a home run! We are not local but it was worth the drive.
I'm from Canada but Texas BBQ has always been one of my fav cuisines. It's not an easy find where I'm from, so I came to the state with dreams of trying authentic Texas BBQ. Heims fulfilled those BBQ dreams. Every single item on the platter was of spectacular quality. The meats were of legendary tenderness. The sides were perfect too, especially the green chilli mac which was delectably creamy. Onions, pickles and housemade BBQ sauce to your will. The BBQ sauce was sensational, perfectly sweet and smoky. Now I know the template next time I try Texas BBQ in Canada and they have a "Texas BBQ sauce". The price wa very reasonable at $22 as well. The service I received, although later in the evening and closer to close, was excellent. The woman running the front took very good care of me as a first timer. Keep up the amazing work, Heims team!
I tried Hiems BBQ for the first time recently, and it was such a great experience. I wasn’t totally sure what to order, but Amanda and Sarah made it easy. They were both super friendly and just really genuine. Amanda helped me figure out what to get and gave some solid recommendations without making me feel rushed. You can tell she knows the menu and actually cares that you enjoy what you order. Sarah was just as kind and welcoming — she checked in on me and made sure everything was good, but in a natural way, not over the top. The food was honestly amazing — full of flavor and cooked perfectly. But what really stood out was the service. As a first-timer, it makes a big difference when people take the time to make you feel comfortable and taken care of. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I really appreciate Amanda and Sarah for making my first visit such a good one.
I heard the bacon burnt ends are a must. I would agree, they’re quite a bit fatty but the flavor was good. Had the 2 meat burnt ends and the sliced brisket. Brisket was a little dry but good flavor. One thing I didn’t post a picture of was the peach cobbler. It came out pretty warm and I went after it. It was tasty. Would eat here again.
Heim Barbecue never disappoints! The food is absolutely amazing—perfectly smoked meats packed with flavor, especially the brisket burnt ends and turkey. Every bite is worth it, and the sides are just as delicious. What really made the experience stand out was the outstanding service from Amanda and Yasmin. They were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Their positive energy and great customer service truly elevated the whole visit. Between the incredible food and the amazing service, Heim Barbecue is a place I’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommend!
This is our first time at to Texas and to Heim barbecue. We have a friend who recommended it and he was right! The food literally melted in our mouths. We now know what real BBQ should taste like. Amanda was so helpful when ordering and gave us suggestions on what to get. Amazing experience!
First timers here from the east side of DFW. So good would brave the highways again! Amanda helped us pick the best food. 2 meat plate with delicious bacon burnt ends and moist brisket (not too fatty- perfect amount), chili Mac & cheese (so so so good) and beans (good flavor but a lot of onions if that’s a thing for you). Also had Heimburger (pepper jack sub) and onion rings. Bacon jam is amazing. I mean… bacon yum, jam yum…. Bacon jam yum yum. Team was great and so friendly. Oh! And banana pudding is like grandma makes (assuming your grandma makes fantastic banana pudding)
Amazing BBQ. Military friendly. Came here for lunch on advice from one of my coworkers. Did not disappoint. Hearty portions, great atmosphere, and excellent service. Amanda was wonderful helping our group of 15 work through the options and even providing discounts without even the group having to inquire about it. Will absolutely come back next time I am in town. Real BBQ here, not that commercial, tourist trap stuff. You will not regret stopping in.
This was such a great experience from the moment we walked in! From the entrance to ordering our food, everything was amazing. Amanda, our cashier, was absolutely awesome! It was our first time there, and she walked us through the menu, gave us recommendations, and made us feel so welcome. Everyone else we interacted with was also incredibly kind and showed us true hospitality. We will definitely be back again! 🌟
Great find! We wanted BBQ near the Stockyards and this place did not disappoint. We enjoyed the prime brisket & bacon burnt ends, pulled pork and pork ribs. The sides were wonderful and a cold beer rounded it off. I would love to come back and enjoy the outdoor area with live music too!
Wonderful customer service from the moment we walked in and we were greeted and welcomed with great hospitality by his explanation on how things worked for newbies like us. The food, particularly the burnt ends and brisket, pinto beans, potato salad and peach cobbler was all superb and top notch! The atmosphere was perfect for the fall weather that just came through TX with a big backyard feel and big beautiful fire pits and live music. It made for the perfect peaceful date night with chilly fall backyard vibes. Loved the whole experience!
We stop by every chance we get! Love the food and the atmosphere! Merch is always available! Outdoor seating is fun! Everything is delicious, today we had jalapeño cheddar sausage and the melt in your mouth brisket (trust me, get the fatty cut instead of lean!!) With the green chili Mac and cheese and orka on the side to top it off. Of course we had the brownie (don't shy away, it's amazing) Go back again and again to try other items! The bacon brunt ends are to die for as well as the ribs! You can't go wrong... Can't wait for the new location to open in weatherford!
Well we were going to go to terry blacks but decided to go here based on the reviews. It was delicious 😋 there was plenty of parking and seating, a small line to order. We were greeted by a nice man who explained how to order and answered any questions. It was pretty cute inside. Generous portions for sides. The Mac n cheese was creamy, not dry and good! The twice baked potato salad was good, but it needs a little season. The beans had a vinegar-y base and I loved them. The onion rings were good, almost like a funnel cake batter. The brisket was juicy and the bacon burnt ends were like flavor bombs. They had live music outside! Sorry...but my banana pudding is better...
As a 7th Generation Texan who has tried Brisket nearly everywhere recommended in DFW, I can honestly say Heim had the best brisket I've ever had!! It was super soft, fat melting in my mouth, and the bark had an amazing seasoning that was basically perfect! I love making brisket myself, but Heim puts me and everyone else to shame!! The beef rib was super soft and very flavorful!! On par with Terry Blacks - maybe better?? 9.8/10 The jalapeno cheese sausage was recommended by the cashier, it was ok, nothing amazing. The huge sandwich had brisket, sausage and burnt ends (pretty good, 7.5 on flavor, 10 on soft melt-in-your-mouth.) Potato salad was chunky with large ingredients, but not super flavor, about 6.5/10. Mac&cheese was good, about 8/10. Brownies had a weird ingredient and didn't taste right at all (almost like an alcohol or liquor flavor) 1.5/10. The fries are NOT homemade, ore ida style. 2/10. I love that they sell the seasonings, and brought some home for my future brisket too. Awesome surprise on the brisket. I'll be back for a few pounds often!!
Heim Barbecue on the River is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you pull in, you’ll notice there is tons of parking available—huge plus! The building itself is large and inviting, with plenty of seating both inside and out. They even have a spacious covered patio and an outdoor open play area where you can bring your dog or let your kids run around while you enjoy your meal. It’s the perfect setup for families, friends, and anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy some incredible BBQ. Now, let’s talk about the food… I ordered the 3-meat plate with brisket, sausage, and their legendary bacon burnt ends. The brisket was unbelievably juicy and tender—it literally fell apart with the slightest pull. The bacon burnt ends? A flavor explosion. It’s like a party in your mouth with every bite! The sausage was packed with flavor, and the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Every single item on my plate was a hit. The environment is spacious, clean, and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I can’t recommend Heim Barbecue enough—whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, you’ll walk away happy. This place is a true gem, and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and go. And yes, get the bacon burnt ends—you’ll thank me later. 😋
Oh my Terry Black‘s barbecue doesn’t have anything on this place. The staff is incredible. The food is wonderful. The barbecue is over-the-top fabulous probably the best I’ve had in years and years and the pricing is perfect so many other restaurants overcharged for their meats and their sides this place Has an incredible value they give you tons of food and they have so many wonderful options with an A bar to enjoy a cocktail along with your dinner or lunch Catering from this place has to be incredible. I am now a lifelong customer. I was referred by many many friends finally made it over here. I live very close and I am happy. I did the girl who took our order whose name is on. The receipt is absolutely incredible and help me Smart decisions when ordering nothing like the other place that I referenced at the top of the page where they heard you through like a bunch of cattle get your money and actually probably don’t really give a damn if you’re happy or not I wasn’t impressed with Terry Black and will never go back especially after finding this wonderful place that all my friends say is incredible. They were right.
Yes, very nice place. Spacious, with a nice bar. Food top notch. Brisket was great. Pork was great. Awesome sauces. Lady at the register let me taste bacon burned ends. She rocked.

Man, Heim just hits the spot every single time. How can they make chicken so juicy and flavorful?!\n\nHeim is a must for anyone coming to Ft. Worth.

One of the best barbecue spots in Fort Worth and actually in all of north Texas. I could eat here at least twice per a week.

Excellent , we want to come back .. the ribs was delicious .. super clean .. the restaurant is so beautiful in side and out side

Pretty good, turkey was a little dry went well with their sweet barbecue sauce. Brisket hit the spot but I wish I got some bread slices. Potato salad is loaded with toppings. I thought the Mac and cheese was creamy and thick and like Queso. Don't miss the beans! If you come here, definitely order the cowtown plate, you get brisket and Bacon burnt ends for a fair price.
Had take out from Heim and included the brisket which was delicious as usual, and the half chicken which I had never tried. The chicken was very tasty and I would get it again. For sides we had the mac n cheese, green beans, cole slaw and fries. The only one worthy of the Heim name was the coeslaw. The mac had a distinct raw flour flavor and wasn't cheesy at all. The green beans were overly smokey flavored and the fries were greasy and limp. Meat was fantastic, but very disappointed in the sides.
As a BBQ enthusiast. I'm usually disappointed when I try to eat out for bbq. The food here is outstanding, such great flavor that I declined to use any sauce on the meats. Hatch green chilie mac & cheese, collard greens, fresh cut fries, beer battered onion rings. Onion rings were bigger than donuts, but all batter, no onions in them. Don't waste your money on them. Sausage is out of this world. Down side for me was the coleslaw and potato salad have a ranch base, but others in the family loved it. Solidly great bbq, will return again and again! Ample portions, great selection of sides,
The food was excellent however the portion was over priced. 3 pork ribs and 2 sides for just under $18. The flavor was excellent, the Mac n cheese was very good and the twice backed potato salad was really good, Overpriced for the portions not the flavor.
The barbecue is still top notch but they changed the Mac and cheese recipe and fries which used to be amazing. The Mac is not creamy at all anymore.
I've been to both of their locations and this location wins in terms of seating and atmosphere. Very spacious indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio. Unfortunately, when we arrived most of the tables were left dirty and uncleaned. The bathroom also has a strong sewage smell. The brisket was super juicy and delicious. The sides are okay, nothing special and fancy. I'd suggest ordering meat by the 1/2lb and splitting the sides with your party. Their BBQ sauce is really good.
Can I tell LA the chicken was some of the best chicken? I've ever eaten. The sausage was really good and the bacon burn INS were fabulous. The beans like them a lot. The Onion rings were really good. The macaroni and cheese, my wife loved. And I loved the loaded baked potato potato salad
The food was good. Bacon burnt ends are always fantastic here. The potato skins were not what I expected. They were presented in a mound of potatoes, cheese and meat. They were quite messy but flavorful. The three meat platter was good with nice sized portions of meat. The only thing I would have changed was sitting outside. The weather was beautiful but the flies were horrible.
*** Adding an update to say that this location got rid of their collard greens and I am DEVASTATED... Not sure why but I'll have to skip this location now for the Magnolia one. Super disappointed.*** I've heard so much hype about Heim, I started getting some real FOMO from it. Finally, I got to swing and see what it's all about. For the most part, it was pretty good. The prices are scary, but that's just the reality of Texas BBQ. The food was alright, though not the best I've ever had. The brisket mac was just a bit dry. TX sausage was good. Ribs and pulled pork were also a little dry. I'll definitely come back, though, especially for the atmosphere. There's a bar and plenty of seating. It was super laid back and the staff was great!
Excellent barbecue. Unfortunately, at this moment, food prices are sky high and it's hard to justify $25 a pound for pulled pork.

Visited yesterday for the first time with my family. We were confused on how to order the food since we came at night time. The bartender was nice and helped take our order and told us where to wait for our food. Once our food was ready my husband picked it up and whoever handed the food was rude when he asked for extra ranch. Place was clean, portions were good size, however the taste was not the best.
Dry brisket. I went to Heims BBQ and ordered a half pound of point brisket with burnt ends, pork belly burnt ends, Mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was great except the brisket. The brisket was super dry. I told the person who took my order and she said they would have replaced it had I not eaten some of it. Most of the brisket was uneaten and honestly it wasn't good for service. Not when it's $20 something per pound. I didn't ask for a refund, but I did tell them. I also reached out on Instagram and haven't heard anything, which bums me out. We work hard for our money and bbq isn't cheap. I love supporting restaurants so I'll go back. But I recommend checking your brisket before you take a bite. The photo shown is a brisket burnt end...it's so dry.
As an annual visitor to Fort Worth to see family, we always look to try a few new bbq restaurants when we visit, so we tried Heim on this occasion. Have to say that I was a little disappointed. Location was good. We got there at lunch time on a Sunday, so there was already a queue, which is a good sign. This is a newer building, so I understand that it won’t have the character that some older bbq joints have, but this did feel a little too ‘modern’? However, it’s all about the food, so was disappointed to say that it didn’t completely meet what we would expect. The burnt ends were great, and the beef rib was tasty. The fried okra was also good. However, the brisket was disappointing. We just felt that we didn’t get our monies worth. We will look to come back at some point and see if things are better for us.
Went here on a Saturday night after passing by and seeing that it looked cute on the outside. Looked popular, lots of large groups of children and parents. However, upon arrival It had a distinct “please help me I’ve had too many visitors at a theme park” vibe 😬 even witnessed someone (a thin woman) sit down and break a picnic table because it was so rotted. Literally fell on the ground in front of her family. The good: burnt ends, brisket sandwich. The bad: everything else :( when the food arrived it looked extremely tasty, but was surprisingly disappointing? Wish I had more positive things to report, but they were out of chicken, out of turkey, had to get the pork tenderloin and it was dry as leather, the lean brisket was full of fat. Fries were those sad little generic frozen crinkle cuts and onion rings were like funnel cakes. Mac and cheese was that fake velveeta stuff with pepper and a few canned green chiles. Ordered two margaritas which tasted pretty good but they were 11 bucks a pop and served in a plastic cup that was 3/4 of the way full so you end up feeling super sad lol. They offer a 40% military discount, but only if you are in uniform. All in all a disappointing experience. Won’t be back.
The food tastes great, but really disappointed with the amount of meat for the price. $20+ and got 1 slice of brisket and 2 sides and the bacon burnt ends. Giving that little meat is just not acceptable.
The customer service is very welcoming and they answer all questions with a friendly attitude. This establishment is VERY WELL KEPT AND CLEAN, located in a part of town that is still building new luxury apartments across the street. I’m not so sure if it’s a very cultural place, but again, they welcomed us with an eager to satisfy attitude, and nowadays that goes a long way. The barbecue ribs are EXCELLENT and the GREENS ARE DEFINITELY FRESHLY COOKED. We didn’t care for the Mac N Cheese, nor their in house barbecue sauce. To us, the pasta was overcooked on the Mac N Cheese, and the Barbecue Sauce didn’t have that right blend of sweet and tangy. I also had a side of brisket and I was shocked that one slice was $7 and some change. Not too mention, the brisket was tough as well. Be mindful, this isn’t a lower budget establishment, so be prepared to spend some money, although the dress is casual dining. I wanted to add that I liked how you can add pickles and sweet white onions to your meats and/or sides. I just wish they had some kind of bread with their Barbecue Plates. I saw on Fridays and Saturdays they have a live band, and I bet that’s nice. Finally, I do think this restaurant is worth a try. Everyone’s taste of how they like their “Q” is different, so what we didn’t like, you just might love. We’re definitely going back to try their onion rings that were huge and their jalapeño sausage that was nice in size. Both looked mouth watering!
The staff was great, the building was clean and well kept, and the food was okay. We had brisket, ribs, bacon burnt ends, and pulled pork. The burnt ends were fantastic, but everything else was just okay. It was something that we could reproduce at home or even do better. Nothing was bad but most of the food we had was just okay. The meats were dry and not tender, but the flavor was decent. The bacon burnt ends stole the show and I really wanted to give 4 stars because of it, but everything else was just okay. The sides were probably better than the meat. The onion rings and Mac and cheese were delicious. I really want to rate higher because the service was good, atmosphere was nice, and we had a nice time. The problem is we don't have a desire to return so I didn't feel like I should.
The quality of Heim has really declined the last couple of years. This was my first time at this location but the food was ok....not great. I ordered a 2 meat plate with the turkey breast being the driest that I've had in a while. The brisket was pretty dry as well. My buddy ordered the bacon burnt ends and they just weren't what they used to be. I did enjoy the greens. For a 2 meat plate I think the price was fair. I hope I just came on an off day.
Its all about meat here and comfort sides coupled with a drink of your choice . Two separate counters for each . Order and collect your food from one side and get alcoholic-drinks from the other counter. As everywhere else, help yourself with any soft drink from the fountain or sweet ice tea. Seating is massive and its quite spacious inside. Separate sections give the patrons enough room to socialize and have gatherings. Beautiful patio on the side and abundance parking available. Food is great too especially if you are a meat lover. It didn’t suit my stomach but the reasons can vary for me. Everyone else in my group enjoyed the food . Good thing is that you can pick and choose your sides. Coleslaw side was not a very good choice and same for onion rings as we don’t get onion rings like this in canada. So expect it to be different in look and taste. Mac n cheese side is amazing . (Who can go wrong with that) Very clean space otherwise and well kept washrooms.
We love Heims Barbecue. The food is genuinely great, which is why we were excited to host our wedding reception there. I initially reached out to Brittany for a quote and sent over a detailed list of exactly what we wanted included (appetizers, meat plates for 27 guests, sides, banana pudding, and champagne). I was told the estimate would be sent over that day… After a few follow-ups over several days, I did finally receive an estimate, but it didn’t include the full order I had originally outlined over text. I had to request that it be revised to reflect everything we discussed. I was told the estimate would be adjusted, but I still haven’t received the updated version. I completely understand that people take time off and schedules get busy, but when planning a wedding reception, especially when contracts and deposits are involved, communication and attention to detail really matter. It was disappointing to have to follow up multiple times and still not have a finalized estimate reflecting our full request (this was back in the beginning of February and it’s now March) We truly love the food and atmosphere, but will be continuing our search for a place to host our closest family members, which makes this extra frustrating. I hope this feedback encourages improvements to the event coordination process, because the dining experience itself is fantastic.
I’ve been to the Magnolia location and the Burleson before it shut down and I have to be honest I’ve never quite understood the hype of this place. This was the first time I’ve been to this location and I will say, the building and location and vibe of this Heim is fantastic but the food was very mediocre unfortunately. I will self admit I am a bbq snob as I’ve had some of the top bbq spots in Texas but today was very meh. I will say this though, I can absolutely see the potential but the consistency just isn’t there. I ordered the 2 meat plate and got sliced moist brisket and ribs with beans and regular Mac. The part of the brisket that was actually fatty and moist was really good but closer to the point end of the cut it was very dry and tough. That end of the brisket got way too hot in the smoker but I can see the potential. Somehow with three ribs I managed to get 3 rib ends, not a single bone in any rib just cartilage pieces and kind of tuff due to being the end of the rib. My guess is on combination plates they’re not giving you a quality rib as you’re not paying by the pound. Which sucks because the rib actually had great flavor. Again, the potential is there. And I’ll just be blunt about the mac n cheese, it was probably the most bland tasteless Mac I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the regular Mac, maybe the other one is better. And the beans were decent, nothing really to write home about. Price was fair for that plate and I can for sure see the potential but I expect to get much better cuts than I got today. That’s my biggest issue at places where you don’t order at the block. I can’t see and reject the cuts I’m given. I’ll try it again though, it’s got potential.
Pretty slimy when you run out of cab one hour into a paid for party! Try to pawn off your terrible pinot noir! Definitely putting our two cents in with Overridge.
We stopped by for $2 Tuesday pop up for Fort brewery. We like the location spot. Definitely had plenty of space and open area. The sausage, fries, and mac&cheese where good. The only downside was the brisket it was just plain dry and had to much fat on it. The bbq sauce was nothing special either. For a bbq spot it truly was disappointing to have a brisket of low quality
The brisket that everyone order was very dry and had minimual flavor. The macaroni and cheese didn't have much flavor and the French fries were too salty. The burnt ends were good. I think if they give a little bit of love to the brisket like they do to the burnt ends then the brisket with be a lot better
Went there for a late lunch my wife and I .56 dollars for two chopped beef sandwiches and two sides and two drinks. The onion rings were a bucket of lard dripping in oil and the buns for the sandwiches also oily. The meat was good but for that price the portion was small. The onion rings (3) were the size of a large donut and dripping in oil. Service was fast and the atmosphere great. I usually get the chicken that is always good.
The food was very bland. I ordered 2 meat with ribs(2) and brisket (1) with potato salad and reg mac n cheese. None of the items had any seasoning. I ended up throwing the sides away after a few bites. I also ordered the peach cobbler which was decent but I got the equivalent of a serving spoon. Not with the price or hype.
Disappointed in my experience at Heim today. The good: Dante greeted me when entering the restaurant, and took my order. He was pleasant and patient with my order and question. Stellar at his job. Even gave recommendations. All the other staff were smiling and friendly. Could ask for a better staff service. The bad. The brisket I had at him today was on the bottom of the scale of Brisket. Which is surprising, usually love the brisket. But today it was the driest meat I’ve ever had a BBQ joint. The slaw was watery and unpleasant. The ends were great as usual and the Mac was good. But I am disappointed in the food as a whole. Not a great experience. From now on I will be going to terry blacks for my BBQ lunch.
Can't comment on the food because when you ordered ribs, anything fried, or turkey they were out! A bbq place that's not really serving half their menu. So tell us before we waited 15 minutes in li…
We had heard this was a great place for barbecue, so, as a treat for my wife's birthday, I drove (she's disabled) nearly an hour, to pick up two orders of bacon burnt tips, brisket, cole slaw, onio…
What an expensive let down. I love barbecue, but this was just poor all the way around. For starters there was no smoke anywhere. Didn’t smell smoke outside, not inside, not even on the meat; don’t know if they use smokers or ovens. Brisket should be black outside from all the smoke, but the brisket was red like it had been in an oven with a couple smoke chips. It was also dry and tough, worse than dickies, spring creek, etc. the Jalapeño cheddar sausage tasted really good, but still no smoke flavor or smell. The bacon burnt ends were alright but wet like they were cooked in a saucepan ...and also no smoke. The green chili Mac was actually black pepper Mac. No green chili flavor at all, just look how much pepper is in the pictures. The Loaded potato salad was dry and just “off” not a pleasure to eat. It had good ingredients, just wasn’t good potato salad. In fairness the portions are big, I ate half of everything and brought the rest home. (It wasn’t any better the next day) Top it all off and it was a $33 lunch with water. That’s a ridiculously expensive lunch I wouldn’t pay $5 for. I’d heard good things and was excited to try it, but man that was an expensive disappointment.
First time here today and last time. The mexican manager was very rude unacceptable behavior. The brisket was garbage. The Onion rings was very greasy sausage was dried out. the mac n cheese was nice.
I ordered 5lbs of pork ribs. I had been craving for a while. While this was rated 4.3 stars i assumed this would have been a great bbq spot i got there at Thursday 5pm. I'm thinking im getting the fresh of the fresh. Not sure but baby but this is the worst of the worst pork ribs i have ever had. It was burn it genuinely taste like cardboard. And the hispanic manager on duty was very rude. I'm very sad about it. Not spent well at all. Highly disappointed!
This was, hands down, the worst BBQ we’ve ever had. We honestly feel like we got robbed. The cashier had no clue what they were doing — couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu and clearly had no training or interest in helping. That set the tone, and somehow, the food managed to be even worse. The brisket? Literal beef jerky. Dry, tough, flavorless. An embarrassment to Texas BBQ. The turkey was somehow even drier — think Thanksgiving turkey left in the oven for six hours and then reheated in a microwave. No seasoning, no smoke, no moisture. The “famous” bacon burnt ends were just… fine. Not great, not worth the hype. Beans were plain and forgettable. And the green chile mac? No flavor at all. Tasted like someone cooked pasta and forgot the cheese — and forgot the chile. This place is a joke. If you’re looking for real Texas BBQ, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Heim is all name, no substance. Never again.
My brother and I actually ended up throwing up all the food. Right after we ate the bbq both of our stomachs started to hurt which lead to us throwing up everything. had high hopes for Heim BBQ, but what I got was honestly disappointing. The brisket looked unappetizing right out of the container — pale, rubbery fat with a strange texture that didn’t look properly rendered. It tasted as bad as it looked:
Nice place for large groups. Only positive . I was disappointed with the food. The onion rings they gave me were old and dripping wet with cold oil. Better going to Whataburger for some. Got my daughter a burger and asked for no jam on it . They made it with the jam and I kindly asked for remake since the jam has juices and it saturated the buns . Instead they just wiped the jam off and added three extra cheese slice (cold) but still left residual jam with juices .
