Seafood Paella is the best I've tried in Spain. Other dishes are also good. Recommend this restaurant.

Visited on 18 March, food was great! We loved all the food we’ve ordered. Lovely view fron the restautant. All Filipino staff were all accomodating, hospitable and lovely!!! Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic seafood restaurant at the pier of Barceloneta! True restaurant with well informed and educated waiters, flawless service, linen napkins, good food and an excellent Sangria and - most important: Very good and fresh seafood: Comes at a price but the package is well worth it. We had Seafood Pasta and Octopus a la Gallega as a starter: The Pasta was al dente, well supplied with different seafood and very good, the Octopus was a bit short of being perfect. As main dishes we had Bacalau al Piri Piri and Merluza. Both were excellent, as well as the Cheesecake thereafter! All in all highly recommended!

Wow! What a meal. What a location. And what a cocktail! Delicious apps (croquettes, shrimp tempura, calamari, octopus, bread with tomato) and entrees. Desserts were also very good. Can't beat the location. Two complaints- one meal was pretty cold when served (no issues getting it warmed) and the creme Brulee was a soupy mess. Might be the way it's served here, but none of us have had it that way before. Overall, a great meal!

After a walk to the beach we found this place on the marina overlooking stunning yachts and boats. We sat out on the terrace and were greeted by a very friendly waiter who was super helpful and joked with us. We ordered a variety of tapas and paella, which were all amazing, fresh, and tasty. Prices were reasonable for such a nice location to enjoy lunch. We enjoyed so much we came back the next day ! (The burgers are also excellent)

Great spot overlooking Port Vell, very busy with people. Food is first class and very reasonably priced. Hard to get a table on the water side, but if you manage it....just enjoy the atmosphere and let the hustle and bustle pass you by

La Gavina Restaurant ofrece una experiencia culinaria de alta calidad en Barcelona. La calidad de los productos es excepcional, lo que se traduce en platos deliciosos y bien elaborados. El servicio es impecable, con un personal atento y profesional que se asegura de que cada comensal se sienta bien atendido. La experiencia general fue muy agradable; sin embargo, consideraría que el ambiente podría ser optimizable para alcanzar la perfección. En cuanto a la relación calidad/precio, es bastante razonable considerando la calidad de la oferta. Sin duda, es un lugar al que regresaré y que recomendaré.

Estuvo muy bien la experiencia. Fui con mi familia a la terraza y almorzamos súper rico (lunch). Las mesas bastante separadas (bien por las normas de covid). Disfrutamos del sol, de la rica comida y del compartir. Lo único fue que el servicio fue un poco lento, quizás porque había mucha gente. De hecho, pedimos otra botella de vino pero no la llevaran. Al final, pasamos al postre. Igual todo súper rico y la pasamos genial!

Hemos comido genial, y el servicio excepcional, le pongo 4 estrellas porque las mesas están muy juntas y la.verdad no me gusta demasiado... pero todo perfecto y muy bueno....a razón del precio claro.. no es un sitio varato..pero estas en primera línea y eso se paga.

Ubicado en pleno puerto de Barcelona. Bonita decoración. El trato muy amable. Como entrante pedimos calarmacitos con cebolla dulce, estaban muy bueno...pero me pareció escaso poner 4 contados. De plato principal comimos fideuà....riquisima, ninguna pega. Los postres buenísimos también. En general la comida muy buena. No es un restaurante barato...

Si quieres estar bien atendido y comer comida de calidad en un lugar elegante o en terraza este es el sitio. Los platos de mar muy buenos, así como las paellas y pescados, también me gustaron las ensaladas y en especial el helado de plátano y dulce de leche.

We had a man enjoyable weekend lunch at La Gavina. The food was OK (nothing out of this world)—average seafood paella. The squid ink paella was actually better and would recommend this one. Service was a little slow but overall pleasant!

Sitio en un lugar emblemático de Barcelona, de ahí los precios de la carta, la calidad de la comida no es la mejor. La atención del personal estuvo bien en todo momento. La verdad es que no es un sitio que recomendaría, hay sitio con mejor calidad de precio/comida por la zona. Los mejillones eran normales, las gambas al ajillo para turistas, el solomillo…supongo que será cuestión de gustos, pero la salsa no estaba demasiado buena y el acompañamiento con tantos pimientos sobraba en un plato así, el salmón normal…

La ubicación es excelente, y por tal motivo considero que es un restaurante para turistas, el precio es elevado en relación a la calidad de los alimentos. El sabor de los platillos es aceptable pero no excelente, esperaba algo delicioso 😕

El lugar bastante acogedor y con buenas vistas, la terraza da al puerto. Sin embargo la comida y el servicio no me ha convencido. Entre los camareros hay uno que es atento y amable, los demás para nada. La comida no es nada espectacular, la paella está muy salada... Relación precio calidad bastante mal, es caro.

Sitio agradable, buena terraza con vistas al puerto, buen servicio, camareros super atentos, aspecto muy correcto, todo limpio, pero la comida muy mediocre, una lástima, a nivel comida es un quiero no puedo, falla en lo principal!!🫣

Lo escogimos simplemente porque tenía la terraza libre y necesitamos hidratarnos y comer algo. Fue simplemente un tapeo, no he probado más de su carta, pero las bravas no las volvería a comer...la salsa muy pesada para mí y en exceso, gusto mío personal. Por lo demás las bebidas a un precio acceptable para ser Barcelona...Me quedo con las vistas que eran muy chulas.

Service left to be desired. Waitress stormed away when we apparently took too long to reply (a few seconds) when she asked what we wanted to drink. Then the cooks bring the paellas, ask us if we would like them served in a plate or as is, in the pan. We say pan is fine. They go back to the kitchen with the paellas because they had forgotten the handle covers for the burning hot pan handles. Paella was ok at best. The rice didn't have the infamous paella texture. I should have looked at the comments before eating here. These are mishaps that I wouldn't have cared about is this had not been a prime location. Do better.

To be honest, we decided to have just an aperol spritz in this restaurant, but we decided also to order regular french fries and sex on the beach (drink) we were disappointed because an aperol spritz wasn’t good everything was tasting so weird even mayonnaise and ketchup for french fries

The restaurant itself is lovely, clean and well positioned along the tourist trap drag. The service was fantastic and our server Eric was very attentive and even could be described as intuitive. The food however was a sad experience, we value seafood sincerely, and as we come from an Atlantic province in Canada we were very excited to try the seafood paella. It was extremely overcooked, and neither the shrimp or muscles were cleaned (deveined) before being cooked. The bits of squid in the dish were difficult to cut with a knife… The squid with onions was as well quite overcooked, but was on brand at this point. We hate to waste food, so hopefully someone we run into can make use of the takeaway, but we won’t be eating it. Do note, it wasn’t all bad - the buratta with arugula was a lovely dish; and the bread very fresh and enjoyable. When we let the manager know about the overcooked seafood, he provided typical Spaniard courtesy and stated “that’s how it’s cooked” and walked away. I’d be more shocked if he took concern. Be warned.

Les Pongo dos estrellas ⭐️ por las ostras que nos pedimos y el café ..la comida deja mucho que desear .. no esta buena ..es ambientando para el turista .. presentación media baja .. te ponen el pan sin preguntarte .. y aunque no te lo hayas comido te lo cobran a 3,95€ te la clavan eso es pésimo .. por eso digo no es un buen restaurante al que ir a comer es para el guiri que va de paso .. nosotros entramos por casualidad y no pensamos volver .

We ordered paella and cocktails. The rice in the paella was dry. The waitress poured the cocktail on our table when she first brought it and did not offer a replacement. Also, we were brought bread, although we did not order it (we thought it was a compliment and tried it), when the bill came, we were surprised because we were charged 6 euros for the bread (we only tried 2 slices of bread, and they brought 5 slices). The waiters behaved as if we were not in a restaurant but at their home. Also, we were charged 10% for service. The view is really beautiful, but not worth the money.

Todo estaba frío y sin sabor al recalentarlo, y las papas fritas gomosas recalentadas eran lo mejor de todo.

I stopped by this restaurant to politely ask to use the bathroom, and the staff rudely refused because I hadn’t ordered yet. The ironic part is that we actually came intending to eat there, but after that treatment we just walked out. If a place can’t show even basic courtesy to someone who is about to become a customer, it says a lot about how little they value people. Honestly, after this experience I wouldn’t eat here even if I showed up with a whole group — or even on the bicycle I was trying to buy today. Their attitude ruined it. There are plenty of restaurants in Barcelona with kindness and respect. This one isn’t one of them. Avoid.

One of the most terrible experiences. The food is medium quality and expensive , but the worst part is the totally bad and unacceptable service. Main waiter uninterested, makes you feel unwelcome, before we even finished our order he took away the menus (we wanted to add more plates but then of course we didn't). We ordered 4 main courses and they forgot to bring one of them. We finished our dinner and the fourth person did not even start. He received his plate later,after we told them that we are missing something, and there was just a small apology and then they disappeared. If you don't want to destroy your dinner experience stay away from this place.

We went here twice during our trip but so disappointed on the second visit. Would never recommend. The first visit we had good service and good food. The second visit, we ordered exactly what we did the day before. The waitress brought out the food and it was incorrect. I politely mentioned that wasn’t what I had ordered and she and another waitress both argued with me. Instead of apologizing and bringing me the correct dish, they continued to argue with me and be extremely rude. They never came back to see if we needed more drinks or needed anything else. The staff was horrible and I would never, ever return.

We visited La Gavina Restaurant about two evenings ago, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel welcome. The staff seemed uninterested, and when one waiter brought us bread, we later found out we were charged for it without being informed. We politely asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but instead of assisting us, the waiter rolled his eyes and started speaking to his colleague in Spanish—very unprofessional. The starters arrived quickly, and I must admit, they were the only highlight of the evening. Delicious, well-prepared, and honestly raised our expectations for the main course. After about 30 minutes, the waiter brought out a large paella dish, showed it to us, and then served it onto three plates. We had ordered the Lobster Paella (€49.90 per person), which sounded like a real treat. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The lobster tasted off, the paella itself was unpleasant, and overall it was not at all what one would expect from such a dish. I’ve had paella many times before, so I know how it should taste—this was far from it. To make matters worse, the staff showed no care or attention. They didn’t ask why we barely touched the paella, nor did they seem concerned. They simply cleared our plates and moved on, which came across as extremely arrogant and dismissive. For a restaurant with such a reputation and premium pricing, the food quality and service were shockingly poor. The starters were good, but everything else—especially the service—left us completely disappointed.

My partner and I were looking for a good paella and we were suggested the restaurant la Gavina... we ordered our drinks everything was good until the paella arrived... unfortunately we had to realize that the paella was completely burnt, the rice was dry and the taste was barely bearable. I spoke to the waitress, she brought the boss to our table who then asked us if everything was okay. I described the concern and was extremely disappointed because I did not get the offer for a fresh paella or a discount on the bill, which I find really very cheeky! We paid for 3 drinks 2 paellas a total of 65.- which I find extremely expensive for a burnt paella 100% FLOP
