Absolutely loved my experience at La Pepita in Barcelona! 🤩 The food was incredibly delicious—every bite was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I left feeling totally thrilled and already excited to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a great vibe! 🍽️✨
This place was exceptionally amazing! 10/10. Every dish we ordered was phenomenal; some of our favorites - ceviche de corvina, sangria/wine, and pepita de ternera punto menos. The ambiance of this place is amazing. Our waiter, Miriam, was so sweet and helpful! Recommended great wine and dessert for us.
Had a reservation for 6 for 1.5 hrs. They seated us when we arrived a few minutes early. We are 5 adults and ordered some tapas to share. The portion was a good size and flavour was great. My personal favourite was the ceviche for the spicy and kick. As we had an early reservation the restaurant was nice and “quiet” with some music to sing along to. But once it was more packed the volume went up and it was harder to have a conversation.
good food! some recommendations would be: grilled octopus, fried calamari, shrimps croquettes and guacamole!! It is a tapas bar and food will arrive fast. Pairing with wine is good, also sangria that could be a bit more refreshing. There will be a queue outside so expect some waiting time! compliments for the person at the door, he was making good arrangements in order to make the wait as pleasurable as ut could be.
Stopped in with some friends for a late dinner and everything hit the spot. There was good energy at the bar in the front room where we initially got seated as we waited for our table to review the menu. Once we sat at our table, we started ordering a variety of dishes and every plate that came out was better than the last. The patatas bravas, anchovies, and beef tartare were the stars of the show.
Worth the wait (but recommend you book in advance). Dined solo at the bar and was very well taken care of by the barman Chimo- recommend the Sangria to begin with, and the wine selection thereafter. I ordered the anchovies (wow!!! Dulce Lecce with the anchovies)and the Gambas ‘Al ajillo) perfect dinner.
I was recommended to go here by a friend and was not disappointed. I managed to get a reservation for lunch, for just me. I was welcomed warmly by Silve and was sat at a cute little table. Jeff provided a very friendly and efficient service. All the plates arrived when they were ready and it wasn't a long wait. I loved how they halved the portion because I was alone. I ordered Pork Belly bites with Avocado cream (x4) Red Shrimp Croquettes (x2) a single Iberico Ham croquette and Octopus. The croquettes were my favourite. I had a lovely rose wine as well. Really great value for money. I will return in November the next time I am in Barcelona.

This place has climate, busy, popular, lively. But I gotta take away a star for the food which wasn’t super good. We had salmon tartare, guacamole, red shrimps and green salad. Tatare was a bit boring, nothing special, we ate it but I wouldn’t have it again. Guacamole was under seasoned, it was supposed to be with watermelon and unfortunately is was very blend. Salad was ok, just a big bowl of green food with green sauce, not a very noticeable flavor, but ok if you want some veggies. And the shrimps were also fine, but I wouldn’t order again, earlier today I had this dish way way better, these didn’t have enough spices and garlic. Whine and beer was vary good, and the service was a big plus, the waiter was pouring the wine honestly, half a glass. I can appreciate that!
While I enjoyed this dinner, I do have a few opinions on the dishes served. Though I will say the servers were very attentive. The free shots were a nice touch. A dash touristy-tip trapping though. To start off, we had the salmon tartare. It had very good flavor and was very acidic from the guacamole. Next, we had the pork belly. I thought that they were getting a little lazy by putting guacamole on this as well. After having guacamole with the salmon, it didn’t seem necessary to have multiple dishes with Guacamole. A simple aïoli would’ve done well. Patatas bravas-They were very fluffy inside, but did not have a very good crisp on the outside. The croquettes were probably the best croquettes we had on the trip. I definitely recommend getting those.. They didn’t go light on the ham which was appreciated. Skip the beef skewer. Very chewy and tasteless not worth the money. Overall, not a bad place to give a try, as the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fun, but the food can be hit or miss.
This restaurant was decent but perhaps a bit overrated. Tourists in general definitely frequent it a lot. The shrimp and steak dish (pictured), was quite good, although quite heavy and on the oily side. Their carpachio had heavy almost mayonnaise taste and is probably a perfectly valid style but not the typical experience. Their sangria was average. Sometimes the lineup gets long (again a tourist hotspot) so book ahead dueing weekends. Interior spacing is very tight with tables/seat placement packed like sardines. Can get loud in a confined space. For 2 person table there typically isnt enough room for only one dish at a time.
I didn’t have a reservation and they were able to find seat for me. The food was nice, i had croquette, marinated duck and patatas bravas. Skip the duck, not very flavourful and for 13€, well…questionable. Other two meals were amazing. Also i got my food always really quick and warm. Only thing that was lil bit off was female bartender with red hair. Sarcastic answers, no smile. After being overly nice to her, she switched the tone a lil bit. Wasn’t acting like this to spanish speaking guests tho. Other staff members were really nice. overall - 7/10.
The staff and atmosphere and drinks were great and we had a very fun evening in this popular place. The food was nice. Essential to book

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but let me say this place is extremely overhyped. I was really excited to come try this place, and I know that I order well at restaurants. Half the things we ordered were mid at best. The best things we had were a small anchovy on bread, burrata salad, and tomato bread. The calamari, ceviche, patatas bravas, and eggplant fritters were just…..not good lol. Most were lacking salt, there was a general mismatch in flavors that was not enjoyable. The cream catalana dessert was also a slightly worse creme brûlée. The service was very slow and it was hard to order and to get someone to come over to us. It also ended up pricy for the quality of the food, which was low in my opinion. Needless to say, unfortunately, I will not be back.
Just having to constantly check the clock is annoying. The time for eating is limited. The waiters are quick, but the tapas are overpriced and I can't understand the hype surrounding this place. Th…
We had read so many good reviews so we booked a table- very disappointed- totally overrated. It was OK but I’ve eaten far better tapas in Barcelona
Arrived pre booked 430 felt ignored and in the way before dinner arrive at 6. Had table to 6 but left at 5. Ordered 3 tapas asked if we could order more if needed was advised kitchen closing ! Why do they need to add Asian flavors like ginger and sesame seeds to Spanish traditional tapa? No need . Calamari was soggy and soft the best was pan con tomato and Iberian croquette . Sangria was good but won’t be back
