We had a great time and Elizabeth took great care of us. Great happy hour with a ton of options. Highly recommended.
This place is wonderful! Great traditional food done right and all the service I received was warm and friendly. I will absolutely come back here.
100/10 I live in West Texas and it was my first time here. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and sat in timely manner. Our waitress was Maria and she did more than perfect! Gracias Maria. Food and drinks were spectacular! We will be back ❤️
Have been several times and each time the food and service has been very good. They have a wonderful lunch buffet. This visit I had the carnitas and the flavor was spectacular.
Happened to be in Bastrop for work and decided Mexican food sounded good for dinner. I have been in and out of Bastrop since 2010 and this is the first time I ever stopped here. I was NOT disappointed in any way. Parking lot seemed full so honestly I expected to be on a wait list. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and shown to a table right away. Of course the special they would advertise is Taco Tuesday lol. I love Quesabarilla Tacos so I ordered 2 of them. Shortly after placing my order a young man brought out some chips and bean dip and then proceeded to mix fresh salsa at my table to my desired level of heat. The bean dip was made with chorizo and the temperature and texture were absolutely perfect. The salsa was a bright color and very aromatic. You could tell it was fresh just by the look and smell alone. I have always judged a majority of Mecican food places by their salsa...and this one knocked it out of the park. Then came the quesabarilla tacos. The meat was moist and full of flavor. And unlike other places, these tacos were not full of oil and grease. The consume sauce was delicious and tasted spectacular. I would definitely give this place a 10/10 and highly recommend that you stop in if you are ever in Bastrop. I won't overlook this place again.
This is a great place for Mexican food and margaritas on the outside balcony watching the sunset! We had the beef nachos and we highly recommend. Beware the drinks are strong but really good flavor. Great location with great parking. Good helpful staff here. We will be back to visit again soon. Thank you!
We visited Bucees today and were really hungry. We decided to stop by here because it’s just opposite Bucees. We had come by here before and really liked it. Today service was really good and I loved the restaurants atmosphere. Food though was okay. I mean there was nothing wrong with it but we felt from last time food didn’t taste the same way. My husband felt the same way. I had Chile Relleno especial and my husband has Chicken Fajitas. They also bring chips for appetizers. They have a vegetarian section so very vegetarian friendly.
If you want to eat authentic Mexican food, this is a great at place to come and eat at. Sat down, looked over the menu, and ordered the Plato Flaco. Within 10 minutes I was eating a freshly prepared plate, thinking it was going to taste Tex-Mex, but was really surprised with the food. Service was also great! Had several waiters checking up on us throughout our meal, which was awesome! Prices her are also very reasonable considering the quality of the food! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone looking for some good Mexican food. Will be back sometime soon.
I really liked this place. I have been to the Austin location and found this one better. I sat at the bar and the service was great. My enchiladas were incredibly tasty. The squash was cooked perfectly the rice was nice and fluffy. The flavor of everything was wonderful. I also enjoyed all the drinks I ordered. The service is very good and I very much recommend this place!
Our first visit here and it was a wonderful experience. From the salsa and bean dip to our dinners, everything was tasty and well presented. The cream sauce with my shrimp and fish dish was excellent as was the grilled summer squash and zucchini. My wife said the flan was so tasty. The interior is impressive and festive. I’m sure we’ll be back often. The parking lot is busy and crowded so timing matters it seems. We’re early diners so there was plenty of room but by the time we walked out spots were at a premium.
Food, Service & Ambiance were lovely! The cactus there is amazing, recommend giving it a try!

We were there on a Sunday morning and it was pack, probably because that's when they have a all you can eat..but food it's great though!!
The Mole Enchiladas are so good. We drive 45 minutes to get them. The tableside salsa (get it spicy, if you can take hot stuff) is amazing & I love that they also serve hot refried beans with the chips & salsa as well. The Margaritas definitely hit the spot as well. I'll keep going back.
First time here! A friend recommended this place since she is from the area. I'm not disappointed one bit! We had a football game in the area right after we decided to get some lunch/ dinner. Drinks were perfect. Not strong, just right to relax after a long day in the sun! I tried pepino Rico and prickly pear margarita. Pepino Rico was so refreshing. Honestly, you can't even taste the mint, and it does come with a piece of cucumber with tajin. So delicious! Salsa, they do make it to your liking. You can make it as spicy as you'll like. We got mild since we did have little ones with us. It was good, and they were still able to enjoy chip and salsa. I shared fajita for 2 with my sister in law. It was a good amount. The only two things I didn't like was the fact the rice was super greasy! And charro beans were bland... needed a bit more flavor. The service was great. Waiter checked on us frequently. We will definitely be back again!
Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant. Their staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They have a very large menu, which, to be honest, was a little overwhelming at first. After trying different dishes I realized that you can't go wrong with any of it. Everything was tasty. I was a little surprised that the burrito was served with French fries, but hey, to each Their own. Definitely have to give this place a try.

We have been to Casa Chapala on numerous occasions and were always satisfied, if not blown away. Our last visit may end up being our last visit. The restaurant was mostly empty, but we will waited for a table. The server was short with us and seemed distracted. The appetizer came out incomplete, and it was quite some time before we could get anyone's attention to remedy the situation. The food was ok, but not outstanding. The service, however, was almost nonexistent.
Not the best service, food, or atmosphere but not terrible. I loved my fish tostada but didn't like my shrimp mango tostada. I tried my boyfriend's burrito and it was good. The chips and salsa were…
Really not sure why this place is so popular. It is very mediocre Mexican food. high priced for the quality…and the parking is packed at peak hours. It is not far from the Movie Theatre / entertainment complex and across the street the Buc-ee’s…maybe that’s the attraction? I honestly feel some fast food Mexican places serve better food at 1/2 or 1/3 of the price.😕 I would not come back here for another dining experience. Pros: 1) They have a $12.99 Lunch/Senior menu…but it does not say it’s a weekday only option so they tried to add $3 to each on entree ordered 👎🤔 We asked them to remove the charges since it’s not posted on their menu and they did with minimal resistance, so it must get brought up frequently! Do better-Fix your menu. 2) Cheese Enchilada was good 3) Beef Taco meat well seasoned but hard shell was soggy. 4) Salsa was good. 5) Server was pleasant but never came back to refill drinks until he brought the check🫤 6) With a reservation for noon, we were seated pretty quickly. Con’s: 1) Refried Beans very bland. Tasted like straight out of the can, nothing added, very minimal cheese on top. 2) Mexican rice seemed a bit overcooked. 3) Soggy hard taco shell. 4) $3.99 for 12 ounce soda (but free refills). 5) Tortilla chips overcooked, but ok on flavor. 6) Parking is really tough, probably need to park at Buc’ees across the street. 7) We did not appreciate the $3 per entree they tried to charge per combo meal, that they tried to add at the end of the meal. 8) Took a while to get food but not super long. 9) Server did not come back to refill drinks.

Its very obvious who yall cater to cause im a REAL mexican and i do not approve. The same NACHO cheese i ordered for the table, yes nacho cheese not actual queso, was used on my enchiladas. Fajitas were cold and the lemonade was obviously Klass, powered lemonade, was not good. I wouldnt even recommend this to Benjamin Netanyahu.
