As a huge Titanic historian, simply being in Titanic Hotel Belfast is enough to whack 5 stars on this review of the attached restaurant. The whole building (including the restaurant) is a museum in itself and well worth a walk around. Anyways, we had a lovely drink in Drawing Room 2 across the way before heading to The Wolff Grill for dinner. The menu was varied and interesting, the staff hugely attentive and the atmosphere amazing. We were sat next to the 'bollocking booth' which was in the middle of the working floor back in 1900. Look up where it's name came from! Don't expect a cheap feed. Prices are steep but totally worth it in my view. We had some prawns and duck spring rolls for starter. They were tremendous - especially the duck with the chilli, ginger and watermelon. Odd, but worked so well together. A lamb stew and massive burger followed. This was washed down with a bottle of merlot. No change out of £100 but for a rare treat whilst in Belfast, the home of Titanic and a visit to The Wolff Grill is definitely worth it. They also do a fabulous breakfast if you are staying at the hotel! @familydadventures
Been a few time to the Titanic hotel and love the food in The Wolff Grill. Had the cod, was delicious. Staff are great and so friendly
Not sure why the rating is so low? Very nice food and not overly priced. The seafood are fresh and well seasoned. The starter scampi prawn is simple but must try! Service is a bit slow but nice.
We had an amazing experience here. The food was excellent! I was so very happy with all of our meal. The chowder was fantastic and apple crumble was to die for! The service was second to none. All staff were very attentive and happy to cater to gluten intolerance. Can't recommend enough. An experience you won't be sorry to indulge in!
A Taste of Belfast History at The Wolff Grill Nestled within the historic Titanic Hotel, The Wolff Grill offers a refined dining experience with breathtaking views of Belfast's iconic landmarks. The restaurant exudes an air of understated elegance, creating a perfect ambience for a special occasion or a memorable night out. On a recent visit, I opted for the classic Shepherd's Pie, and it was nothing short of divine. The tender lamb, slow-cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth with a rich and savoury flavour. The creamy mashed potato topping, golden brown and slightly crisp, provided a delightful contrast to the succulent lamb. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, a testament to the chef's culinary expertise. We also had Perfectly Cooked Fillet of steak. This fillet steak was cooked to a perfect medium. It boasted a beautifully seared exterior while remaining tender and juicy within. The flavour was rich and satisfying, showcasing the quality of the cut. A truly exceptional steak experience. The Wolff Grill is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. From the delectable cuisine to the impeccable service and stunning views, every aspect is carefully curated to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend The Wolff Grill to anyone seeking a taste of Belfast's culinary history.
Visited here midweek and despite booking the restaurant was quiet, although booked up for Friday. Service very good and friendly all round, and the food was excellent - decent portion sizes too for this kind of fine dining. Overall a must if you're staying in the hotel - yes it's pricey but its a fantastic experience and all the food is paired and cooked to perfection.
The entrance is via the Titanic Hotel which is in the historic building of Harland And Wolff drawing offices, the entrance is warm, luxurious and beautifully decorated, there is signage on your left as you enter the main lobby area for the bars and restaurants which are open to hotel guests as well as the public. The hotel and restaurant is directly opposite the Titanic Belfast Museum and slip ways where the famous white star ocean liners 'Titanic' and 'Olympic' were built. The museum will have its own review from me too, it's worth a look if I do say so myself haha. First of all, I was a lone female tourist and the staff were very welcoming and provided everything I needed, I was seated promptly and after a few minutes the waiter kindly asked what drink I would like to order and supplied some bread and water. The wine menu is extensive and there is something for everyone, I'm a white wine kind of girl usually but I opted for a nice sounding Italian Rosè called Sartori, Pinot Grigio Blush to start with. I was not disappointed it was smooth and beautifully fruity. I also ordered the Sierra Creek white Zinfandel Rosè from the USA which was not nice after the first sip. I ordered a raspberry vodka and lemonade as i go home tomorrow so I thought I'd push the boat out before it's back to reality and I need to be in mom mode again. Don't worry I haven't left them to fend for themselves they're at home with their dad, my lovely husband Jason. Anyway back to the review... For my food I ordered the lamb with whiskey blackberries and celeriac puree with buttered baby potatoes. The lamb was rare which is perfect, the plate looked beautiful and colourful with all the various elements. Everything on the plate with the lamb tasted incredible Unfortunately the baby potatoes didn't do it for me but that's a personal taste preference and nothing against the restaurant as they were lovely and fluffy. For my dessert, I ordered the creme brulèe with lemon curd, I'm unsure why but I was waiting around for quite a while while Mains and sides were flying out for other diner I was left waiting for around 20-30 minutes (the reason it's not 5* on the service) however, it was definitely worth the wait, the flavour was perfect and it was plated in a (I'm gonna say the word again) a beautiful way. My meal in total was £62.95 which I thought was very reasonable
Absolutely stunning food, the meal was incredible. We got a starters, main and dessert, it was out so prompt. Beautiful food, the meat was incredible. Cocktails were gorgeous. Our server, finn, was great, really helpful and knowledgable. 100% would recommend.
We stayed at the titanic hotel to visit the museum We decided to eat at the wolf grill and we can only say how amazing the service and food was, we have eaten at some fantastic restaurants over the years and the wolf grill is now one of our favourites When we return which we definitely will do we will definitely be returning here
Wow such a perfect 90th Birthday Celebration at the Wolff Grill. The food was absolutely amazing and so beautifully presented and a first rate service from the excellent staff team.
Had a lovely wee meal with parents at the Wolff Grill last night and I have to say it was amazing. The staff were really nice and attentive, food was really good.
We were here to celebrate an 18th birthday and both food and service were fantastic. We very much appreciated the welcome we got and the good wishes to our big lad, and we just felt very well looked after in general. Also great on food intolerance and dietary options.
We booked a table for Xmas eve dinner. Food was delicious, atmosphere is quiet and romantic.
I had a three course meal here and have to say one of the best 3 course meals I have had in ages. I would recommend to eat here. If I was in Belfast I would come here again.
Ordered a rare steak but wasn't quite cooked as should be, medium rare seemingly. Not the best serloin as rather fatty. Staff were fantastic and hotel absolute stunning
We visited the restaurant as part of a birthday treat for my mother in law, she was very excited and a bit nervous in timings as she was going to a show afterwards …. It very nearly went disastrously wrong !!! However an epic save by the restaurant manager Ethan saved the day and his intervention earns the 5 stars and a guaranteed return from us … Well done and thank you Ethan putting the customer first is the right decision 🏆
Food excellent Service and host excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable without being obtrusive . Exactly the balance that you want . Very family friendly which is something you worry about when taking a 3 year old and a 6 month baby to a " proper " restaurant! Excellent Rioja choice also ! Thank you 😊
Amazing food. We went for Valentine's day set menu. It wad great. The service was friendly and amazing atmosphere. We got a really private experience. Definitely recommend for special occasions.
Amazing food! I had the scallops to start and they were melt in the mouth. The thai green curry main was the best thai curry I've since I was in Thailand over 20 yrs ago. The staff were polite and very professional. The restaurant lacks atmosphere, but for me, the quality of the food and service made up for it.
My partner and I dined here Saturday 1st June, we must say what a fantastic experience. First and foremost we would like to commend Emma for her excellent service, dedication and wonderful smile during a busy dining period. She operated gracefully and with a constant smile upon her face, Emma is a fine representative of the establishment and a rarity for a young person to have such fantastic work ethic. If she maintains the standards, I am sure she will have an excellent career, the business will do well to keep her onboard. In regard to the remaining team members, they all operated very professionally and courteously with a full restaurant. The food was delicious and of a standard befitting of the venue. I would highly recommend the chateaubriand, which we had previously. On this occasion we had the fillet steak and sugar pit pork, also recommendable. Overall the experience was fantastic, the whole team are excellent, for the chefs and front of house team that made the evening, we thank you and ask that you keep up the excellent hospitality and standards. Again Emma, a special thank you. We hope to see you all again when we return.
Had brunch and staff were friendly and welcoming even saving us some pastries! Food delicious! Beautiful surroundings and will definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience!
The perfect place to celebrate a life moment. I had just proposed to my partner before arriving, and the team at the Titanic Restaurant made the night feel truly special. We were given a private space, and the atmosphere was calm, elegant, and intimate — exactly what we needed after such a big moment. The service was exceptional, and a huge thanks goes to Finn, he was amazing and looked after us with genuine care and attention. Nothing felt rushed or routine — just thoughtful, personal hospitality. A flawless experience we’ll never forget. Highly recommended for anyone marking something meaningful.
TLDR: Excellent food and great service, but need to be more attentive when you’re done your meal. I had dinner on my own, I showed up a few minutes late to allow for the 7pm rush to subside. I was offered my selection of 2-tops to choose from, and while I ducked away to the restroom pre-dinner, the staff had already brought my requested red wine and a carafe of water (which is enough for me to give a 5-star review, as there is nothing worse than waiting for someone to come around and refill your water) I ordered the duck spring rolls and seafood linguine, after a discussion with the lovely server who helped me choose between a few selections. Both were divine. Service was wonderful with various staff members checking on me throughout the meal, though not to the point that it was annoying. My only complaints (which, as dry humor is difficult to pick up in a review, are not actually complaints at all, just a further reflection of the great food and service) are: - I wish I had some bread to mop up the delicious sauce my linguine was served in - The sun was too bright on my table on this glorious Belfast evening (they rectified this immediately on another customer’s request 1 minute before I took this photo) Cannot say enough good things about this place, which could easily be a sub-par tourist trap, but is in fact, quite a lovely dining experience. Update: wrote the above all glowy from my delicious meal but have to dock a few points for the length of time I’ve sat (after confirming with the assistant manager that I didn’t need anything else) waiting for my bill. I know it’s very European to linger and rude to rush customers out, but since I’m by myself (and American) … I’d rather just go. This went on for long enough at the end where when they left one of my large wines off the bill, I toyed with not telling them because it would keep me here for an extra 10 minutes to fix - but I’m too honest for my own good.
Lovely setting and surroundings in some of the old Harland and Wolf buildings with lots of ship and titanic memorabilia. Servers were clearly interested in good service and allergy concerns and the general message was, let us know what you like and we will see what we can do which was great Unfortunately, even though they are classing themselves as an expensive fine dining experience they are not quite delivering on it all. From a coeliac perspective, despite a desire to provide options, there is no separate frier therefore no chips or other fried options available. I was not overly worried by the lack of a GF menu however was hoping for better guidance from staff. The GF breads were nice but not outstanding, the chicken and mash was very nice, and the garlic, chilli broccoli and peas was very nice. Only desert option available GF was a chocolate almond tart with raspberry which was ok but very very rich and overpowering. Really would have needed a little ice-cream or something to help cut it a little. Overall I was disappointed, by comparison Browns Bonds Hill in Derry is a similar restaurant targeting the same clientele and is of significantly higher quality of food and flexibility for GF customers. I would recommend you to visit but as much for the surroundings as the food. If you want a high end food experience go to Brown's Bond's Hill in Derry.
Went on a business lunch. Had the Pit Pork Chop. Sides are not included so Colcannon and Garlic/Herb butter were ordered separately. Price wise, the Chop was £22 and the colcannon was £4.50 so this is expensive. The Chop was tasty and not dry as some pork can be, and the buttery Colcannon was lovely so quality-wise, no complaints. However by itself, nearly £30 is not good value.
So amazing to have this historic landmark as a restaurant . The food was pretty good , we were all happy and the great staff and atmosphere made up for the not so good Irish coffee .
We had a beautiful Sunday lunch here today to celebrate a lockdown 80th birthday. We had requested a good table for the occasion and this was taken care of. The food as always was to a very high standard and perfectly presented. A special mention for the slow cooked roast beef which was so tender and of course the lemon meringue tart which is my favourite. Tea and coffee served in the Drawing room was a lovely end to a perfect lunch. The friendly staff and excellent service are why I keep coming back. Thanks to everyone today.’
Food was not to my taste ,although well presented and cooked to perfection it wasn't for me.A la carte portions but too little on plate for me .
For the nibbles, mozzarella, olives and padron peppers we would give them 8/10. For the leek starter we would give 6/10, for the liver parfait and scallops we would give both 9/10. For the mains the roast dinner we would give 6/10, the celeriac steak 9/10 & the salmon 9.5/10. For the desserts the chocolate tart we would give 6/10, the Creme Brulee 8/10 and the cheesecake 9.5/10. The service was 10/10 and the drinks were 8/10.
Went there yesterday with a big group just we waited to long to be served, even drinks we need to leave the table to order in the bar.Hopefully in the future the attention to the client be more respectful because we paid a lot. But the food is amazing congratulations on the chefs.
On a positive note the food was lovely! However the staff, couldn't have given a monkies!!! They were chewing gum, the wearing of their uniform was haphazard, they did not engage with customers. Overall an expensive night out, we had eaten better and had better service in the local pubs. So disappointed!! The White Star Line will be turning in their graves!!!!
We were a party of 4 to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The starter of goats cheese was inimalist to extreme and disappointing to say the least. The mains were OK but when we asked for rose wine we were given a screw top bottle which we had to ope ourselve and that I have bought for around £7 and was priced at £30. I would also recommend some training for the staff on how to address customers. Being asked "are yousn's done" doesn't quite fit with the high standards advertised by this establishment. We will not be back.
When we decided to travel up to Belfast from Dublin, and eat in The Wolff Grill, I was pleasantly surprised! I LOVE the decor! The staff were very chatty, and quite funny as well. I ordered the chili squid for my starters. The chili squid was a little bit disappointing, it didn't particularly taste of anything, but still, happy enough! Then, I ordered the monkfish scampi for my mains. It was beautifully presented, in a little newspaper cup too! It was very cool! We also got some sides. I LOVED the fries and the broccoli! The onion rings didn't taste of anything though, and my scampi was very heavy, but still nice! I got the creme brulee for dessert, and there's just no way I can find ANY faults. Overall, lovely experience, just a few little issues. Like, the portions were quite small, and my dad's order came VERY small, but I'd definitely return!
Came here on Boxing Day. The positives; the steak was delicious. That’s where it ends. One of the children’s mains came out so late that 10 others had finished their main before it arrived. Had to ask on 3 occasions. The vegetables that accompanied the steaks were clearly pre-heated. The steak didn’t come with sauce on the side but drenched in it which was strange. I’d recommend coming to the bar in the hotel but wouldn’t be recommending the restaurant
We were in Belfast this week for our wedding anniversary and my husband booked this for the night of our anniversary. Our table wasn't ready so we were asked to wait in the bar. We were called to our table 10 minutes later, we then had to wait quite a long time for our order to taken. As people were leaving none of the tables were cleared, they were still not cleared when we were leaving. Our table was also not cleared after our main course as our side dishes were still on the table when our desert arrived. There was no issue with the food as that was excellent. I ordered a decaf coffee from a waiter, my coffee didn't arrive I asked the waiter again for my coffee. It eventually arrived in such a large cup it was like a soup bowl, there was no milk so I asked for it from the waiter this never turned up!! Another waitress came to ask if all was OK, we asked her for the bill and asked her to remove the coffee from our bill. She apologised for what happened and removed the coffee from our bill.
I only read the reviews after staying in the hotel . £33 for a very “average” cut of sirloin plus sides ! Serving Flora margarine with the bread ! 🙄 a couple of kids running the place who didn’t ask how my meal was: If you wish to attract the caliber of spender you are clearly trying ! You need to UP your game !
Was staying at the Titanic Belfast hotel and there were 4 tables unoccupied…the host seated a party of one at a 3-seat table, when my party of 3 asked for a table, he told us there would be nothing available for an hour. There was a two-top available. Poor service.
Ordered £70 steak which wasn't cooked properly, coffee was barely warm. Service was slow. The restaurant looks nice though.
We ate here as it came recommended by hotel staff. The food was a bit lackluster for the price and very bland. Staff seemed all over the place and food you would find at a cheaper price elsewhere. They offer the room service and it comes cold and missing items with it. Bummed as it is our honeymoon and wanted it to be special and it really missed the mark.
I had an excellent first visit to this restaurant, so much so that I later brought my in-laws for a meal. The food and service initially lived up to the grand theme of the place. However, I’ve since noticed a decline, and my most recent visit was disappointing enough that I won’t be returning. This is unfortunate because the ambiance and building are genuinely appealing. From the start, service was inattentive. Upon arrival, I requested a high chair for our toddler and waited five minutes while about 4 or 5 staff stood chatting nearby. Eventually, I retrieved a chair myself. Later, a hot bowl of soup was placed directly in front of the baby, which we immediately asked to move away from the baby, and we had to request a spoon separately. The food itself was underwhelming. My salad felt like something I could make better at home. My glass of wine was off—likely poured from a bottle that had been open too long—so much so that I couldn’t finish it. The mains, which took an hour to arrive, lacked cohesion and tasted uninspired. My mother’s dish was passable but no better than pub fare. Dessert, when it finally arrived after another long wait, was average, and once again, utensils were forgotten. This was my birthday dinner, shared with two mothers for Mother’s Day. We entered at 18:15 and left at 20:30—not because we lingered, but because service was slow. By the end, I was more focused on leaving than arguing about the bill. No one checked in on us or acknowledged the delays, which made it clear that either they didn’t care or preferred to avoid responsibility. For the price we paid, the experience didn’t justify the cost—mediocre food, inattentive service, and a bad glass of wine. When we left, no staff were in sight, so I’m leaving my feedback here instead.
When for birthday tea but found the restaurant a bit soulless. Didn't feel particularly prestigious and certainly didn't feel like a dining room on board the Titanic. The starter was tasty enough, but 3 of us found ordering a burger was really the only thing that seemed value for money. Doesn't say much for the menu. Everything was an extra for the steak and the menu and staff confirmed it would only be offered up with a tomato. Only other thing that stood out was there was no offering from staff to take or hang our coats. Mine ended up on the floor because of the shape of the chairs. Don't think I'll be back. You will also have to pay for parking and they are far enough away to get a bit of a soaking if it rains.
Overpriced average quality food. Never in my life I was so disappointed. We laughed when they brought us boiled baby potatoes, ridiculous.
The most overpriced Christmas dinner I have ever had. They charged £450 for two adults. Are you kidding me? For basic pub food and drinks not included that is outrageous. No prices were listed on the menu but everything said average 30-40 so we booked. I understand a hike for Christmas but £225 for a basic meal?! Never again will I eat here.
The food is actually okay, not great but for a tourist restaurant it will pass. However, the service is so bad we just had to laugh. The waitress took our order and never returned. Food runners brought out the food never to return either. Our bread plates, starter plates, empty beer glass, etc. was ever removed so we stacked them on our table. I would have taken the dishes to the kitchen myself, but my partner refused. Finally, we stood up and walked to the hostess stand to request our bill. I mentioned to the guy that our waitress never returned to our table and I had stacked the dishes for them. He nervously laughed and said, “sorry.” The front of the house staff seems to be poorly trained and/or new to the industry. The kitchen and food is okay for a tourist hotel. If you eat here just don’t expect much,
We’ve been in Ireland for two weeks - this restaurant and the lounge onsite is hand downs the WORST service we’ve had the misfortune to encounter. We tried the lounger , dinner, and breakfast. Re-think your choice of dining and refreshment options.
Having eaten in the hotel before and it being quite nice we booked a table for 2 in Wolff grill for Sunday lunch , the service was poor with no one bothering to ask if we required any thing during our meal. The starter was ok but the main course served was terrible, roast beef and vegetables were very overcooked ( at 1pm god help anyone who ordered this dish later), the salmon on a bed of spinach were greasy and also overcooked , when our waiter asked how our meal was on collection of plates and we said not great he just laughed like it was a regular occurrence. We have dined in many restaurants and given good reviews on the best and not the ones we didn't like as anyone can have an off day but we definitely will never dine in this restaurant again.
If you like good food and friendly staff stay away for this place! steak sirloin don't have any flavour and the chicken dish it's plain, the sauce?! I don't call that a sauce , it's something it colour without flavour, the French fries are so hard! In the end no one ask if everything okay it the food! No one!!! Never ever came back a place like this!
So disappointed. On arrival it would be nice if they hung up your coat for you but no we had to leave on our chairs. We ordered and they brought the wrong side dish, then the steak which was tough and tasteless. They nailed the calcadon and onion rings - that was it. The bright fluorescent lights in the kitchen were off putting, the entire place depressing. £110 for two mains two sides and two cocktails - they really didn’t deserve the £20 tip but our server was very friendly and showed us a map of the hotel and the artefacts which was great. My advice look round the hotel skip the foods
We went here Saturday passed. As a whole we were very disappointed. Initially we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who was funny and quick to seat us and get menus. The problem laid with the quality of the food and lack of understanding around celiac disease.. my mum was served twice, her main and dessert with gluten. We confirmed prior to ordering things were gf and when the meals came down. The main was taken away straight away, but obviously had to wait while the rest of us ate for a fresh meal. Secondly the dessert which was ordered. We asked the waitress to check it was definitely gluten free and she came back and said yes.. on arrival of said dessert we asked again if it was gf.. and we were told yes. Soo a few mouthfuls in the gentleman who seated us and rushed over and took the dessert of my mum explaining that it was not gf!! We are grateful that the gentleman came over and removed the dish and apologized for the mistake. Mums meal, everyone's drinks and desserts were not charged, which was a lovely gesture. However in a whole the food and service was not up to where it should be for the prices being charged. Dirty cutlery, foggy glasses etc..
Terrible service, ok food but over priced for what you get. We arrived early for our meal, so we were asked to wait at the bar which was no issue. 5 mins before our booking I asked if our table was ready, we were told it would be another 5 mins so back to the bar. 5 mins later I asked again and got the same answer, 20 mins later I went back and was told it was still not ready. After 30 mins of waiting past the booking time we were seated with the tables around us still stacked with old dishes. The waiter sat us down and then left, we had to call them back to order drinks and food. Then we didn't see them again. Had to ask 3 times for our drinks, the dinner arrived before the drinks which we then had to get up and go over to the manager to ask for again..... The restaurant wasn't even that busy, there was a lot of staff walking around but I'm not sure what they were actually doing. If you want half decent food and good service in the Titanic quarter I would suggest the Nandos in the SSE Arena.
