There was a mixup with our reservation, but Bri (sp?) stepped in without hesitation and took EXCELLENT care of us!!! It was my last time visiting Paschal's before relocating and my uncle was visiting from out of town, and this experience was the best I've had. The food, the drinks, the service, and the atmosphere was all top notch. If nothing else, Bri deserves a raise...STAT!!!
1st time visitor, came for dinner Wednesday night. I ordered the Meatloaf with gravy, mac & cheese, and black eyed peas. The food was perfect! Everything was fresh, warm, and very flavorful. I do agree with what others have said before: the cornbread is very dry. Given the entire place other than 3 other tables and 2 people at the bar, it was quite empty. Not sure if this is normal for a weekday night or not. 10/10, would come again!
We absolutely loved Paschal's. We went for a birthday dinner for the co-owner of Discount Vacation Planner. The food was outstanding. The bread pudding was AMAZING! This is not where you would go if you were on a diet. They also have a cart that can bring your food out. The restaurant has a rich history, part of which is shared on the walls. This is a definite must stop by for a meal while in Atlanta.
Paschal’s was a must-visit when I was doing my research on food in Atlanta, and I’m glad we came. I had the fried chicken with mac n’ cheese, and candied yams, and I have to say, it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and adding their sport pepper sauce took it to another level. The mac n’ cheese was spot on..it was creamy and flavorful. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding with both the blueberry sauce and the rum sauce. Both were good, but the rum sauce was my favorite. Service was excellent, our server, Janisha, was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. She even sent me home with a cup of sweet tea to go, which was a nice touch. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in Atlanta.
We had such a wonderful experience at Paschal’s! We ordered the fried chicken with mac n’ cheese and candied yams, as well as the Paschal’s pasta, everything was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we tried both the peach cobbler and the bread pudding. Both were great, but the peach cobbler was definitely the winner! The service was just as amazing as the food. Our server, Janisha, was incredibly kind, attentive, and informative. She made sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant also has a fun twist with robots delivering food, which was such a unique and entertaining touch! Overall, Paschal’s exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Atlanta!
The esthetics, the atmosphere, the service, THE FOOOOOD! Man! ✨My very first time coming and definitely will NOT be my last. Currently, it is number #1 of my top 5 restaurants to visit in Atlanta. Thanks for the experience, Paschal’s Family. Much love and respect. ***The Before and After photos should give you all you need to know. 😂
Wow how have i missed this gem. Way better than many of the soul food spots in the downtown area!! Mac and cheese was like southern baptist after service and the yams were ready for a pie. Will be back. Only issue was getting seated my Gawd that was a mess my friend had flown in so he was hungry and the stacking seating wasn't pleasant so we ended up sitting at the bar. Great service there.
We came to Paschal’s to celebrate my best friend’s mom’s birthday and the service was excellent from start to finish. I had the catfish fingers to start and they were delicious, super crispy and seasoned just right. For my entrée, I ordered the blackened salmon with collard greens and mac n cheese, plus it came with a cornbread muffin. The salmon was okay. It was cooked well done, which I usually don’t mind, but I think if it had come off the heat about 3 minutes earlier it would have been perfect. Flavor-wise it was decent, not bland but not standout either. The collard greens were excellent and full of flavor. The mac n cheese was pretty good but just a little on the dry side. The cornbread muffin was solid. Overall, the food was good with some hits and a few things that could have been better. I would definitely come back for the catfish fingers and the collards, and the great service made the experience even better.
Paschal's is more than just a restaurant; it's a living piece of Atlanta's history and a true institution for Southern soul food. Stepping inside, you can feel the rich legacy that permeates the space. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet welcoming, with a vibe that honors its past while offering an elegant dining experience. The food, however, is the main event and it completely blew me away. The legendary fried chicken lived up to its reputation—crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside. We started with some great appetizer choices like the **catfish tenders** and the unique **collard green dip**, both of which were fantastic. The traditional sides were equally impressive. The **potato salad** was creamy and perfectly seasoned, tasting like something a grandmother would make. The **black-eyed peas** were tender and flavorful, and the **candied yams** were the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Even the **fried okra** was exceptional, crispy and seasoned just right. The most unforgettable part of the night was a surprise visit from a **robot waiter**, which delivered our food right to our table. We were celebrating a birthday, and the look on the birthday man's face when the robot arrived was priceless—it was a truly modern and fun twist to a traditional meal. This unique blend of authentic, high-quality Southern cooking and a touch of futuristic service makes dining at Paschal's a unique and unforgettable experience.
I just wanna say my whole experience was nothing but the ultimate best from the way the host was very energetic and nice and my waiter was super fast and literally felt like she Reading our minds every time we had an idea like oh we want this. Oh we want this. She literally came back with exactly what we wanted what we want if it was just a great experience and I overly enjoyed the food and the service will be back soon!!
The restaurant was clean and the service was nice. We ordered the collard green dip, it was tasty although I would have enjoyed pita chips or some kinda crispy chips to go with it, they did offer a bread to go with it. The fried chicken was very well seasoned, and The candid yams was out of sight! The potato salad was just okay, but overall, everything was very well seasoned, and I do eat a lot, and I was satisfied with the portions. I also, appreciate the fact that we received sweet cornbread, it was very good because some places do not serve bread with their southern meals, and that is a must have for me. The wait staff was very professional and kind. Attentive to our needs, yet, not overbearing. Yes, I'll definitely return in the future.
Paschal’s Restaurant & Bar definitely delivered on the food. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fish and chicken were crispy, the mac and greens were flavorful, and the yams were so good — honestly one of the tastiest items on the table right next to the catfish filets and chicken wings. Drinks were also great, no complaints there. Service was okay, but not very personable, especially considering how empty the restaurant was at the time. You’d expect a more top-tier, attentive experience in that setting. That said, there was one really nice guy who recommended the catfish, and he was absolutely right — it was amazing. I’ll definitely be back, preferably during a busier time, to really catch the true vibe of the place because the food alone makes it worth another visit.
Ordered the chicken with sides included. Nothing special with the chicken: a bit on the dry side. cornbread side is too dry though. Service is okay as well. Nice and quiet during lunch.
2nd time visit. Friday morning around noon. Located in a plaza. Valet parking. We paid $5. If you have a handicap sticker you can park at the front yourself- avoiding valet. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, blacken salmon with rice and gravy and brussel sprouts, another blackened salmon with fries and brussel sprouts, fried chicken wings with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese, and fried shrimp with fries and brissel sprouts. Pros We had a party of 8 but they allowed us to split into two tables next to each other with two different servers. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating and well as the servers. However, I did have to tell a server to get our server at one point. Cons The fried green tomatoes are good but the breading is falling apart. My rice and gravy originally came with a hair in it. They replaced it no questions asked. They do not split checks with parties of 6 or more. Not good for big parties. Would I Recommend: Yes. This is a great spot to visit with your family to get some soul food. No loud music, no vulgar language, no hookah, no inappropriate uniforms, just good food and OG Atlanta vibes. Got the 3 piece fried chicken with mashed potatoes and candied yams. The food was good but I ended up liking the mashed potatoes and yams more than the chicken. The chicken tasted pre-fried earlier in the day and was sitting under a warming lamp until they served. The service was slow - it took my server 15 mins to come back with water and take my order, and then another 15 mins after I asked for my check for her to bring it out.
Came here for a friend’s bday. Took a while to get seated but I totally understand it was a busy Saturday with lots of bdays so I’m not upset. Comes with the territory. Everyone we encountered was super nice and accommodating. My food was good. I had the 1947 3 pc fried chicken, with collard greens, Mac and yams and a cornbread muffin. Chicken was amazing. Yams were very good, but on the sweeter side. Mac and cheese was pretty good too. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the cornbread muffin…it was flavorful, but dry. Not was I a fan of the collards. They were a bit bitter. I’d definitely come back and try different sides though.
After hearing a lot of hype, so my expectations were pretty high. I ordered the blackened salmon, which was ok. The fried green tomatoes were the bomb, just a little on the thicker side, but still really enjoyable. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes came out cold, which was disappointing. I had the bread pudding, but the sauce tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge, which was a big letdown. I was honestly disappointed. We went as a group of 12 people, and no one was impressed. Some of us were from Atlanta and others from Chicago, so it wasn’t just an out-of-town perspective. That said, the customer service was nice and attentive, which I appreciated. Overall, the experience was just okay and didn’t live up to the hype. The art was beautiful, though. I wouldn’t go back.
Family of four arrived at 7pm. There was valet parking that I was not aware of. We didn’t have a reservation, so the wait was about 20–25 minutes. Once seated, the area was clean, though it took a little while for the waitress to come over. The food was good overall—check out the pictures. One concern: the menus are in very small print, which led to us accidentally ordering something my son was allergic to. The manager did not honor removing it from the bill without a reason provided, yet the drinks removed, which was close to the same value. I would have appreciated if the manager came to speak with me directly rather than sending the waitress. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. This place was recommended as a spot to check out on our trip to the A and I definitely expected a bit more of that Southern home-style friendliness and environment. Still, it’s a good spot to eat.
Minus not being able to place an order over the phone, they suggest you order online but ordering online has not been possible for YEARS, and minus paying $5 to valet park only to walk approximately 15 feet, the food is usually on point. However today I ordered the Family 1947 Fried Chicken meal and the chicken tasted as if it was refried. We could not even eat all of it. The sides for the family meal are no bigger than the portion served for a single side order (see photo, family side on the left vs single serving side on the right). Paying $77+ I would expect fresh fried chicken. I also ordered Catfish meal and the catfish was decent but not as good as in the past. Im going to give them time to get back to caring about the food they serve before I return.
I ordered online because the wait time was 45 minutes to an hour to sit down. I ordered at 4:01 the order was not ready until 5:15pm this is sad then they left off my corn bread. And the greens were juice also the yams were full of water.
They don’t seem to have a clue how to run a business, and they deserve this comment. When you call to place an order, their phone message tells you to use their website or DoorDash/Uber Eats. But when you try DoorDash (for example), they aren’t actually open—yet they still take your money, which is misleading. There are too many issues here: Why is the customer service so bad? Why does the phone system basically say, “We cannot help you”? Why isn’t there a working website? And why mislead people? Long story short, I ordered food and they were closed even though they advertised that they were open. Now I have to file a chargeback and deal with DoorDash. This happened on Black Friday, and many people (20+ from what I saw) had the same issue. We are never coming back—consider this business boycotted. This kind of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated. You’re not that special—no business is.
