The Huế/Nam-style beef noodles here are phenomenal. The flavor is very authentic, and most of the customers are Vietnamese, so if it’s your first time trying it, just be prepared for strong traditional flavors. I often come here about every two weeks because it’s that good. One thing to note: they close at 5 PM, so it’s best to visit on a weekend or make sure you arrive before about 4:40 PM.
Vua Bún Bò in Houston is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Vietnamese comfort food. I stopped by for lunch and was blown away by the flavors and freshness. Their Bún Bò Huế is the star of the show – a rich, flavorful broth with the perfect balance of spice and savoriness. What I loved most was the attention to detail. The fresh herbs, lime, and chili on the side let you customize your bowl just how you like it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly despite the lunchtime rush. The restaurant itself is casual but clean, with plenty of seating. The menu also offers other Vietnamese classics, so there’s something for everyone, but trust me, you can’t go wrong with their signature Bún Bò Huế. If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food in Houston, Vua Bún Bò is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Definitely lives up to their name. The bún bò Huế here is one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant. Highly recommend!
Some of the best Bun Bo Hue we’ve ever had! The broth is rich and flavorful, and the rib we ordered was incredibly tender. The restaurant does get really busy, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Although there was a mix-up with our order (wrong meat, wrong bowl size, and no egg in the bone marrow), the staff was quick to fix things and did so with kindness and professionalism. Great customer service goes a long way. Excited to return
I’m so in love with this place! I’ve been eating their Vua Bún Bò for years, all the way back when I was still living in California, and now every time I’m in town, this is one of my must visit spots. Their noodles are always fresh and perfectly cooked, the meat is tender and flavorful, and the broth has that rich, authentic taste that you can tell comes from hours of care and love in the kitchen. My only little wish is that the portion size could be just a bit bigger for the price. The bowls are so delicious that I always end up finishing them way too fast and wishing I had just a few more bites to savor. I honestly think a slightly larger serving would make it perfect, because the flavors are absolutely worth coming back for. Overall, the cozy atmosphere and the warm, friendly staff make every visit feel welcome. Even with my small wish for a bigger bowl, I’ll keep coming back again and again because the quality and taste here are just unmatched. 💖🍜
Went there for Bun Bo, which is Vietnamese pork noodle with pig leg and pig jello blood. I don't eat the pig leg, but the blood is like jello. This place is new. The place is new and the interior looks great. The Noodle flavor was great. This is my favorite place now for the pork noodle. They have other dishes as well. Here is the menu and what it looks like. Great food and atmosphere. The restaurant was packed during lunch. Come check it out. There are small and large sizes. The small is pretty large. I would recommend small. 2 small bowls for about $33 with tips.
Vua Bun Bo is Phenomenal. Delicious authentic Vietnamese flavors in every bite. Their Bun Bo Hue is a game-changer - rich, spicy broth and tender beef. Be sure to get beef ribs (suon bo). Taste the tradition, love the flavor. Highly recommended. Will be back. 😎
Vua Bún Bò is a fantastic spot for those craving authentic Vietnamese flavors. The food here is rich, flavorful, and truly captures the essence of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Even the small-sized portions are surprisingly filling, making it a great value for the price. The space is small but cozy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, it can get quite crowded during lunch hours, so be prepared for a wait if you visit during peak times. If you’re looking for delicious, affordable Vietnamese food, Vua Bún Bò is definitely worth checking out!
Super nice friendly establishment. The bun bo hue was great! Food came out hot, the broth was super rich, it had a good in depth flavor, and was super authentic. We loved the atmosphere inside but would say it is a little small. The service we received was nice and our servers got us everything we needed. This is definitely a new favorite spot for us in Houston and we’ll definitely be back! :)
First day in Houston, I tried a small Bun Bo, but it was so amazing that it was so much delicious-like-Vietnam

Best Bun Bo Hue I have personally had. The broth was well balanced with spice and flavor. Meats and noodles at proper texture. On its own did not need any added spices or sauces but I have a preference of lemon/lime in my broth so a squeezes 2 slices. I would like to have had the jasmine tea a bit hotter in temperature but the flavor was good. The service was friendly and attentive even while servicing a very busy lobby. Clean rest rooms. And expected prices.

Very busy. Just opened , so there is often a wait especially during peak hours. Broth is good which is the foundation of Bun Bo. Spicy , but a bit salty. They also serve a number of boba as well coffee drinks which are decent. Beef meatballs are available à la cart, which were delicious. Lots of tendons and were very firm, which is a good sign of a handmade rolled meatball. Overall a good place, but they have some good competitors, as this is H town
I tried the bun bo hue here for the first time. The ingredients were of excellent quality, but the broth felt a little mild for my preference. The restaurant remained busy even after 1 PM. I sat at the counter and had the chance to meet and talk with another customer. The service was prompt. I would return to try it again.
Great tasting bun Bo in Bellaire. One of the newer bun Bo restaurants which made it more appealing. Service is pretty quick. The smaller size bowls was very filling for me, no need to get the large in my opinion. Definitely my go to place if I’m ever craving this type of dish again.
I finally tried this place, which specializes in Bun Bo Hue. The space is very cute, but it’s not very well kept. The tables were left unbussed, the floors were not clean, and the utensils needed to be wiped down. That said the bun bo hue was excellent. Broth was good, toppings were good. The pork hock was cooked to the right tenderness. Kitchen is putting out good food! Front of the house needs a lot of work.
I heard this restaurant has really good beef noodle soup. My friend and I decided to try their beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup (bún bò huế) was very good. I liked the broth because it tasted delicious, and it was not too greasy or spicy. The restaurant is kind of small, but I do like its high elevation from the ground, where I can look outside and see the street scenery. The service was very typical of Asian culture because they came to take the order really quickly and brought out the food. I guess it is just a simple, decent restaurant, not a high-end, upper-class restaurant. Overall, I really liked their bún bò huế. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes to eat bún bò huế.
I went twice in a week!! Overall experience was great, noodles was delicious!! We had the Vietnamese coffee but it had this flavor we didn't like.

“Super flavorful Bún Bò Huế — rich broth, tender meat, perfect spice. Definitely worth it!”
Overall the broth was okay, tenderness of the beef shank was great not overcooked but still soft enough. I wish there was a tad more flavor of lemongrass in the broth. Service was outstanding because one of the owners came by to ask my mom if she needed more refill on her veggies. Service does not get better than that around here in Chinatown Bellaire area.
BBH absolutely hits the spot. I love that the soup is served in metal bowls, it keeps the heat in so well that the broth stays piping hot from start to finish. Don’t let the line outside scare you off; tables turn over quickly since the staff keeps things moving (ask customers to pay after eating, so they are not lingering) Both the traditional BBH and BBH nam are equally delicious. Fair warning: there’s definitely MSG (everyone is ready for a nap within two hours, but honestly, it’s worth it because the flavor is that good). Unlike some places that overdo the lemongrass, the balance here is perfect. Portions are generous too: a small bowl here is basically a large anywhere else, packed with noodles and meat.

Overhyped, food is 5 to 6 out of 10 at best. Long wait times for Bun Bu Hue that doesn’t taste that great to be worth the long wait times. I think Pho Saigon in Richmond and Pho Bo To Grill in Richmond has better tasting Bun Bo Hue, especially if you’re Vietnamese and it’s one of your goto dishes, you’ll know the flavor to look out for when you eat Bun Bo Hue. Wouldn’t recommend, especially for the price and wait times.
I have been here many times and usually had a good experience, but today was very disappointing. While everyone else was waiting outside in strong wind, a group of people was allowed to cut the line for no clear reason. When I asked about it, the staff member said the group had already called in. However, I was there from the beginning and clearly saw that they had just arrived. They even tried to combine with another table that arrived earlier to get inside faster. This felt very unfair to customers who were patiently waiting in harsh weather conditions. I hope management will review how lines and reservations are handled to ensure fairness for everyone.
Food was okay, not the best I’ve had, but perhaps I’m spoiled because of having tried the many Vietnamese places in California. Each bowl offered a decent amount of meat. However, we were served the wrong sizes and never got an additional item that we ordered.
