This Sichuan restaurant has the best intestine noodles I’ve ever had! The portion was incredibly generous, and I got to take some home to finish as another meal. To complement the noodles, they offer a side dish of cabbage, and it was also very good. Service and atmosphere were great. A must-visit for Sichuan cuisine enthusiasts!
The beef noodle soup is sooooo tasty. It's home-y and comforting and simple. You get a giant bowl, which I wasn't able to finish, but they are not stingy at all with the portions of noodle and beef. The pork dumplings were a flavor explosion. Whatever the sauce is, it's tangy and a little sweet and so complex. Eat here!
Are you looking for a place to eat? Consider this place. Get the beef noddles and ask for extra chili oil. You will find yourself on the streets of Sichuan with fragrant aroma of spices. Aside from good food, the self order option was convenient but no one told me what to do. The server did not tell me that I had to scan the QR code to order food. It was a bit confusing but once you figure out how to do it, it is pretty easy.
The noodles are addicting!! Have you ever been addicted to noodles?! Yeah this place has amazingly fresh, hand made, and so amazingly good. I've been here almost every week since it has opened. So hard to stay away! I've told all my friends and family about this place and so far, those who've ventured out have agreed... its damn good. It's a small quaint place in what was a slowly dying plaza, but suddenly coming to life again. Shares a large lot with East West Bank, neighboring to Snowy Village. The entire menu has yet to be available but the noodles is the real star. We have tried the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, Rib Bone Noodle Soup, and Clear Broth Noodle Soup. Even the kiddos love it. Appetizers we have tried are the Egg and Beef that's served in a cup and the marinated pork. All yummy! All the meals come with complimentary Mung Bean Soup. I'm not a fan of mung bean but the soup definitely complimented the spiciness. It's kind of like drinking milk when the the spices great too much. Waiter and waitresses are super nice. Very patient, even with my silly nephews. They refilled our mung bean soup and asked if we wanted more noodles. No extra charge for noodles!! Thank you!! I'm such a carb lover so I'm totally into the noodles. It may take some time for more noodles to come out since they are made fresh... so contemplate wisely. If you want more... get ready to request it. They take credit cards now so yay for convenience. Speaking of convenience... after dinner we always stop by Snowy Village after then even complete our evening at DingTea. All just a few steps away. Enjoy! You will thank me later.
First time to dine-in at Mian to try their beef noodle soup. I was greeted by server and immediately served me their complimentary tea and spicy cabbage. I ordered honey lemon tea, clear broth beef noodle soup and pork ear. The beef broth is sooo comforting. Very flavorful, so satisfying. I didn’t taste any hint of MSG. The portion of beef and noodles are perfect and well balanced.
a regular here. the food is delicious- try the pork chili oil dumplings and beef noodle soup. unfortunately the amount of filling inside the dumplings is not always consistent but it’s still good. space is always quiet and easy to hear
Cute little place that I finally got to try after confusing with the other Mein restaurant. Be forewarned, everything is pretty spicy but a good spicy even for a wimp like me. We ordered a few appetizers - peanuts, pig ears and fried lotus root. I enjoyed all of them, but probably wouldn't do the pig ears again since they had a chili flake on them that made it super spicy. My husband got the beef noodle soup which has a lot of meat. Flavor was ok. I loved my golden curry dumplings soup. It was sooooo flavorful and the dumplings had a lot of meat. Service was also great too with lots of water refills and non intrusive checking on us. The prices were so reasonable too given the quality of food. I plan to come back another time tro try more dishes.
Really good noodles, wished they closed later and had physical menus, but it is very yummy. Whenever I come here, I will usually order a bowl for quick lunch. Their broth is not very heavy and it’s very filling. The noodles have great chewiness and it is so soothing to eat after winding down from a long day of work. It’s always quiet and the workers are helpful.
Authentic food! The tea was served slightly warm. A complimentary cabbage appetizer was a nice start. As were the peanuts. The peanuts were slightly salted and glazed. They were good. I got the beef with rice noodle and added the beef rib. The rib was excellent. Pull apart very tender. The beef pieces were authentic real deal so they have sinew and bits which some may not be familiar with. It was a great beef flavor with no iron or liver taste. So I enjoyed this dish very much. The dumplings were so good. Very authentic so the dough was medium density and chew which was good so it kept the meat filling in its place. The sauce was “boss” and very good. The meat filling was packed with flavor. Put this place on your bucket list. The fondue place next door had a one hour wait so we will check it out also on our next visit. This was on our list first for the bowl style dishes and dumplings.
My new favorite place in Chinatown! OMG these noodles are the bomb and freshly made! The spicy beef broth was on point and tasty! The spicy radish was nice and crunchy with a really nice vibrant flavor! The cold noodles had a robust flavor with a subtle bite of spiciness. Don’t forget to drink the complimentary and unlimited refills of the mung bean soup beverage; it reall cools down your palette as you go on this spicy voyage of enjoyable flavors! Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10
Great noodles with great service. They have covid protocols in place and you get your temperature taken at the door by the automated face scanner. You also scan the barcode on the tables to see the menu; but what's really cool is that once you scan to get the menu, you can order and pay directly from your phone - now that's innovative & efficient use of technology. Everything we ordered was delicious - well seasoned with great flavors. The clear broth beef noodles had a great clean beefy flavor; and if you like Szechuan peppercorns, then I'd recommend the spicy house beef noodles. Also definitely get the chili oil chaoshou - the sauce is so darn good! The service was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.
I ordered the mild beef noodle soup and it was excellent. It’s the best beef Asian soup I’ve tasted thus far. Excellent food!
Stumbled into Mian and was not disappointed. Ordered the pork dumplings, clear broth beef noodles, and the house beef noodles. The clear broth beef noodles are great for those looking for something without spice. The house beef noodles were the best of the three dishes and weren't overly spicy. The dumplings were also very good. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and we had good service. If you like noodles and dumplings, you will likely find something on the menu that hits the spot. P.S. Chopsticks, no forks... As I would expect from an authentic noodles and dumplings house.
A good place for dinner. I like the noodles here and the dishes surprised me a lot. While their spices are really spicy LOL mild is good enough for me next time:)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Houston Noodle Dream! Mian Schaun Noodles absolutely knocked it out of the park! These are hands down the best noodles I've had in Houston. Each bite was pure perfection, and the spice level had just the right kick to keep things exciting without being overwhelming. Don't even get me started on the popcorn chicken – it's a fantastic appetizer that perfectly complements the meal. I'm already planning my next visit!
Mian in Houston is outstanding! I’ve been coming here since Covid, and they consistently deliver exceptional meals. The Dan Dan noodles are spot-on—served blazing hot with medium spice, offering a perfect numbing kick. The popcorn chicken is light, crispy, and downright delicious. Finding parking can be a hassle, but the incredible food makes it worth it. Highly recommend for an authentic, flavorful experience!
Cutest little spot with great food. My husband and I both got the House Beef noodles and my son got the Zajiang noodles - both dishes were very flavorful. The beef in the House Beef bowl was really tender and they weren't stingy with the beef. I fell in LOVE with the pork chili oil dumplings. The chili oil wasn't too spicy (although, I love spice), and it had actual flavor instead of just "hot" if that makes sense, haha. The atmosphere is great and the perfect cozy little balance for day or evenings. Will be coming back again and again.! :D
This is hands down our favorite noodle/ dumpling/ sichuan spot to visit. We’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints! Their cold noodles are amazing, and remind me of the food I ate as a kid. The chilli oil dumplings are delicious and a family favorite. Any time I am asked about where someone should eat in Houston, Mian is always top of my list!
All our dishes may look the same but don't be fooled. House beef noodles were delicious, medium spicy was just perfect for me. Also got the pig intestine noodles, intestines were soft and tender. Last dish were the hot and sour dumplings. Everything was so good! All contactless ordering. Fast and efficient service. Definitely recommend.
Loved the pork dumplings and kimchi that was complimentary at our table. Everything is online ordering at your table, you submit it and if you add any other items you just press submit again, the table number through your phone corresponds with it and knows what you have already ordered and what is new, then you pay in person. Really liked the different spice levels of the food. Yummy.
You order thru a QR code here at your table. They bring you a tea to drink, but will provide you water if you ask. The menu is pretty wide, but mostly includes noodles and dumplings. The noodles are bomb!! I typically get the beef noodle soup mild or non spicy and exclude numbing. I really like that you can customize your food here- even to the salt level because it’s rare to see. I am personally allergic to sesame (even though I love it), so I can exclude the sesame paste that they use in noodles. Today I ordered their mapo tofu noodle and it did not disappoint’! They also give you complimentary pickled cabbage to snack on while you wait for food. Service is above average. The decor is really nice- gives a modern Asian vibe. Not a fan of the bathroom area in the back as it reeked of something. Bathrooms are clean but the area leading to the bathrooms wasn’t pleasant.
Visiting for the weekend and got recommended to this restaurant by a friend. Shoo, the food was so good! I got the house beef noodle with more spice and extra pork (for only $1,50? why not?). The noodles were delicious! Personally, I wish it was a lot spicier but the dish was still so good. We also got pork dumplings and my goodness, that was my favorite thing from the restaurant! The sauce looks spicy, but it isn't, and actually is surprisingly sweet. They were really good, would recommend you try them!
Great noodles, good flavor and noodle type reminds me of ramen noodles. Super unique point: they actually serve you cold mung bean tea for drinks, which is a slightly sweet tea. There's some small free appetizers, too. Plenty of chairs, plenty of parking, and service is good.
Extra Spicy beef noodle soup, out of this world, delicious! Tasty and yet beef melts in your mouth! Soup is very spiced and right and very little MSG! Definitely would come back again! 10/3/24 went back and just wow, flavor is very well balanced and the spice is just there and the beef same, melts in your mouth and just a wonder lunch I had again! Absolutely should try! Yes I order the same lol
Everything here is exceptionally good. The noodle soups are rich in flavor and the appetizers are all worth trying, especially if you like it spicy. Best noodle house in town. Highly recommend this place.

I LOVE Mian! I get the “Clear broth zajiang noodles/rice noodles” with medium spicy 🌶️ every time I come here and I love the flavor - Wow!!! I always try to find reasons to come to Chinatown so that we can have lunch or dinner together here! Also, I love that they have a contactless “mianu” for ordering!
Wonderful food and Service! Very tidy and orderly restaurant. The price is also great for what you get- the Clear Broth Beef Noodle was phenomenal, wonderful clarity in the broth and deep but clean flavor. Definitely get the cabbage or steamed veggies with your food if you want some extra! I would (and hope to) go again!
Mian has become part of our weekly routine. We go there regularly, and the quality is consistently excellent. The noodles are outstanding — perfectly cooked, great texture, and packed with flavor. You can tell care goes into each bowl. Service is efficient, the staff is attentive, and the food comes out quickly even when they’re busy. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and everything tastes fresh. If you appreciate well-made noodles and reliable quality, Mian is an easy recommendation. We’ll keep coming back.

Went here for lunch. The restaurant was clean, and full of customers but no line to sit. The food was excellent. The only reason for giving a 4-star instead of a 5-star is because of the service. You have to scan a QR code to get the menu and put in your order online. Before submitting the order, they send you a text message and you have to verify your phone number. Immediately after leaving I started getting promotional text messages and who knows what they will do with my phone number. I already get a lot of spam calls. I would prefer to order without having to give away my contact information.
We actually came here by accident, but what a HAPPY ACCIDENT! The menu and ordering is strictly online and the service is very straightforward, but I will WRECK your face if you try to take my dumplings.... The dumplings were easily the best I've ever had and the noodles were super fresh! I got the spicy beef rib and it was difficult to eat just because I'm not very well versed in crop sticks but everything had great flavor and was very simply delicious. Will return!!
The noodle is decent! I can not say if it’s authentic or not, but it sure taste good, speaking from someone from the north side of China. They have a free pickle dish and unlimited cold mung bean soup once you’re seated which is awesome! Only one downside is the portion is kind of small compared to the price. I go to gym regularly and I can probably be satisfied after two bowls of noodles. Another thing is they close early(8 PM) during weekdays, and they stoped serving even earlier, maybe before 10,20 mins. So be careful with that.
Had a great experience here! You have to order online and then pay afterwards at the front. For appetizers, we got the spicy peanuts and black fungus. The peanuts were really good and I loved the texture of the fungus. For main, we got the house beef noodle soup with ribs, the clear broth beef noodles, and the chendu zajiang noodles. The beef was very tender. The clear broth reminded me of pho and the zajiang noodles had a delicious curry taste. Great service and food came out fast!
Great ambiance - Modern, clean aesthetic. Nice sunny feel, open windows in the front. Fast service, no touch / no contact ordering through a QR code website. Food comes out pretty quickly. You still have to pay at the counter at the end. Steamed egg and minced pork - really smooth with good flavor from the ground pork Pork dumplings - really liked the dry seasoning. Husband commented that it’s the best dumpling sauce that he’s had. Chengdu Zajiang Noodles - chewy noodles packed with flavor. Some places make the noodles too thick, but these were perfect. Fav: Spicy beef rib noodle soup with extra green onions
Came here during lunch time on a Thursday. We got seat right away and to order the food, you'll need to scan a QR to select what you want. Service was good and the food came out maybe like 10 mins after we ordered it. The noodles was really good and the broth was rich. Will prob stop by next time and try the other noodle dish.

Minimum service which they only pour beverage and bring you the food. Ordering is completed by scanning the bar code. This is somewhat pleasant. Noodles are nicely chewy but the soup is a little bit too greasy.
The food was delicious. Very tasty and a fair price for the portions. However, the service was very poor, particularly the female server wearing the face mask. We had to order on a QR code and pay at a cash register at the rear of the store. Servers did not check on us at all throughout the meal. Due to the minimal service, I did not leave a tip. The female server saw it and slid the receipt back to me and told me the tip was not included. Servers should not be trying to pressure customers into tipping. It was very rude. The food was delicious but there’s so many options where staff are not rude to customers.
The service was abit slow. There were plenty of tables not cleaned up yet when we arrived for dinner. Chengdu Zajiang Noodle 5/5 It tasted really good, except it was abit oily. Next time we will ask for less oil. The portion of the additional Shredded Chicken was great. Clear Broth Zajiang Noodle 4/5 Not bad I like it. There’s very little Bok Choy, unlike what was depicted on the menu. Steamed Egg with Minced Pork 3/5 Egg was good but minced pork sauce was abit too flavorful/salty for me. Popcorn Chicken 3.5/5 Not bad for the portion and the price of $4.50 Chao Shou 2.5/5 Ordinary, skin too thick, do not recommend :/
