Excellent hog hunt! Nothing easy about it. We spent 6 hours chasing hogs around before we got our kill. The ranch had a huge variety of trophy animals. The property itself was nice & dry. Staff??? These guys have customer service figured out! Very friendly & helpful! I strongly would recommend this ranch to anyone looking for a great experience hunting one of these hogs.
Awesome experience! We have driven from Wisconsin 2 times in the last five years to experience what Trophy Ranch has to offer! Great memories and fun adventures are what you can expect from your visit!
I booked an elk hunt at the end of September for my son who has down's syndrome. All the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and helped Chad connect on a beautiful 6x6 bull . Highly recommend
Fantastic place to hunt. Took my son for a hog hunt and it was epic for him. Going every year now!
This year was our third trip to Trophy Ranch. Ed, Kevin and Kris are fantastic and extremely accommodating. Our first year, we took 3 boar. After the second trip, we came home with 5 boar. This year we set our sights on something bigger... a Scottish Highlander. Ed was sure to go over shot placement to ensure a fast kill and minimize loss of meat. The ranch itself is tranquility defined. From the sliders in the lodge, one can watch deer to the left, ducks and geese in the catch-and-release pond, and boar and rams beyond the fence. The preserve is challenging, with dense woods, swampy areas, along with grassy fields and trails. The lodge is well stocked. Just bring your gear and food and have a blast!
Had an awesome time here. Beautiful property and animals. Successful hunt on a big pig. Planning to come back in September with a bunch of hunters.
Great people, was recently with my wife on a hunt and the service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back.
Good place to hunt, facilities are great. There's one bunk bed that needs help, it's a metal frame one. Lot of the screws are missing to keep the top bunk stable, and the mattress in the bottom bunk feels like it's just plywood with a sheet over it. But the rest of the bunks looked, and felt, great. The guides and staff are fantastic. Highly recommend.
I just returned from an adventure at Trophy Ranch! My nephew and I harvested Fallow deer. Quality animals, Quality lodge as well. Kevin runs a professional operation! Nothing short of excellent! I'll be back! Thanks Kevin!
My first time, I got a very large hog. My second time my wife got a HUGE hog and I got a bison. We ARE returning in October for another GUGE hog and to hope for an English water buffalo. If the animal can be gotten they will do all they can to help you. Incredible folks, phenomenal help, and very equitable price with very good processing of your meat.
I’ve been there three years in a row Now going on the fourth ,place is amazing owners are genuine and honest and the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Definite most go as a group after a certain amount of people in your group you get a pig roast dinner food was awesome. The brownies are to die for, prices for animals are the best you’re going to find facilities are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained…. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could.
My 7 year old son and I had a great time at the Trophy Ranch. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the property is fantastic, as was the quality of the animals. We will definitely be back.
We love it there! There is something to enjoy for every family member, and we all leave just a little less stressed, a little more light hearted, and overall, a happier family unit! Totally recommend it when your in need of a close, family oriented get away!
Several different species available here. Lodging is comfortable. The hosts are very experienced and inviting. The facility has refrigeration for preserving game, and the guides are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There is a large collection of beautiful mounts for your viewing pleasure.
Kris and Kevin do a great job!! They have their place setup perfectly!! Great people. Great spot. Great time!!
Just wrapped up a 2 day hunt with a group of six. I have experience with other hog ranches, so this review will come from that perspective. Here are the pros and cons. *Pros* -Very affordable. $100 Deposit per person to reserve your dates. -$450 for "hogs" and $800 for rams. -Ram selection is very good -Spot and stalk opportunity is very good. Open range of 160 acres. -Ranch hand TJ is phenomenal. That kid works his butt off and is very knowledgeable and flexible. -Lodging is spacious -Accomodating to however you want to hunt. *Cons* -"Hogs" are not feral or wild hogs, they are farm pigs with no sense of survival. Advertised as "Wild Hogs", but they are not. There were 2 on the property and we hunted them. Everything else is not wild. -Butchering is not quite what we expected. All quartering was done the last afternoon of trip, so we could not eat any of the meat we harvested. Also, literally just animals cut in quarters and thrown in bags. Thats fine, just not what we expected. -Shooting time is only 0900 to 1700. We wanted to get out there early, but not able to maximize our time. Overally, good ranch. If my group were to go again, we would call ahead to see if they could get more "wild hogs", because that is what we wanted to hunt. Ended up hunting 6 rams, the lone Fallow Deer and the only wild hogs on the ranch. Large hunting area and great for spot and stalk. Not a blind/feeder guy, but that is available as well. Rams are not easy to get a good shot on, they move effortlessly through the woods at a slow, but steady pace. Pigs are fish in a barrel. Fallow was extremely hard to hunt, but we are pretty experienced and were able to. Bow and rifle are good.
Very fun weekend. Ed and Kevin treat the ranch guest very well. Lodge has plenty of room and was able to accommodate 12 of us with no problems. We will definitely be back.
Staff here are great. They roll out the red carpet for you and are friendly. They have a lot of animals on their 40 acres. We came in spring so land was wet. Rubber boots a must, but that was not a problem. The pig hunt was more of a shoot than a hunt. You can pick the one you want rather than hope to find one. Nice to have assured success, though it's certainly not a challenge. I would hunt here again.
The folks at Trophy Ranch are very nice, honest and the lodge was great. There’s a pond and the kids loved fishing after the hunt. If you plan on hunting stoker hogs be prepared, it’s basically like walking up and shooting a pet pig. One of the guys in the group chose this option and it was hard to watch really. The hogan hogs are definitely harder to hunt. There were only four hogan hogs on the 160 acres when we were there. It was a bit like a deer drive to find them and def more like “hunting”. It was very wet while we were there in April. Knee deep water in spots. So far I’ve tried the hogan beer brats and they’re decent. A bit stronger taste than normal brats. Anyway, this is just my two cents on it. I probably won’t do it again but it was a nice getaway for a night.
Shot a ram was kinda fun. If you’re going for a pig, talk to your local farmer and see if they will let you walk up and shoot one. Don’t know if we just picked the wrong time of year but wilbur and friends come running to you with tails wagging the hardest part for pig hunting is to shoe the others away with a stick so the people you are with can shoot the one they pick. Definitely not wild literally a petting zoo of domestic pigs. Other than that lodge was nice and $50 to walk around the woods and be up close with 90% of the animals was neat.
